It was a good experience, staff was great and room was cleaned. Could have had a better breakfast. But overall we loved it

The property isn't in the best part of Hollywood but the gates make it feel safe. Its walking distance to the main attraction in Hollywood so that was nice. It was really hot in my room and maybe I didnt know how to use the unit that was in my room but it didnt seem like there was AC. The vibes are awesome, I loved that they have social events for guests, we had a wine tasting and a Pizza happy hour but it was later in the evening. I would stay here again.

Unsurprisingly, I woke up with bites over my legs. You will notice the mattresses are wrapped with liquid proof sheets (hospital style) probably because they know what happens there, and it would explain the strong stench of faeces. THERE WAS GAS LEAKING INTO MY ROOM through the vent right next to the bed, and I fell sick thanks to that. I left early and got myself another hotel, one that didn't feel as safe. If you love yourself, for the love of whatever you hold dear stay elsewhere. LA is too great for this hellhole of a hostel.

This property was conveniently located. The staff were very friendly. It had a very nice ambience. It was an amazing experience at the right price point.

1. Ugly: for $150, original room was world’s smallest hotel room - an unwanted bunk bed blocking half the open closet; microwave & fridge. (both in the good condition though ) there were no drawers, table, shelf of chair. blocked closet and a flimsy night stand. no towel bar, no hooks in the bath room to hang stuff. FORGET about the kitchen in the description. world’s smallest sosp “bars” size of a piece of candy. the toilet got clogged at first use. only plus were nee m/w, fridge & humidifier 2. Good: I went down (no phone in room) & immediately assigned me another room so ++ for service. this room was much more spacious -large walk in closet, more space, 2 level night flat tj stand, a wide modern seat! Spacious bathroom windows with hooks (no counter space) still NO KITCHEN The best: - unadvertised breakfast, basic but fulfilling . - Tiki garden - very nice surprising for a 2 star - hot water and s choice of teas and instant coffee 24/7. even 5 stars don’t have this - social on Sat evening - fresh burgers including a vegan choice, unlimited beverage including alcohol. music, karaoke & dancing till midnight, Usually not my thing but it worked THIS time since solo leisure travel. - int’l guests from all over the world - TT table & arcade had start, but nice ending.

Value for money. Three of us stayed at the hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Washroom and kitchen were very nicely kept and well equipped. I would recommend the hotel

The room was spotless when I arrived. Shower was plenty hot. Heater worked well. Common area was fun. No issue with noise during the designated quiet time.

Front of house staff were amazingly helpful and very very nice to deal with, unsure about cleaners as we did not see them or experience their work during our 7 night stay..... Planned onsite events were noisy but only until 10:30 as advertised, noise was not an issue at all. Again the front of house staff were exceptionally helpful and of great assistance.

We fell in love with this place!! Not only it’s downtown and close to tons of attractions, but the atmosphere and the staff’s easy going but attentive vibe make it an absolute gem! We will be back, and will tell everyone we know that this is THE place 😍

Was above and beyond what i could've expected. The facilties were well kept and maintenanced, staff kind and helpful, rooms and spaces clean, hospitality through the roof with special "BBQ" social parties in the evening. The location was super short, direct, and safe shot to all of Hollywood.

Staff Complaint: I was dismissed and humiliated by the staff on-sight when I voiced my concern. I felt unsafe being left outside the confines of the hotel without a buzz code at night. I voiced this to a staff member on duty. Instead of coming up with a viable solution, (like notifying the guests to check with the front desk in the morning or something to that effect) I was told this is a vibe hotel and I get what I pay for. And while there is room in the budget/ timetable for karaoke cookouts, there isn’t for safely measures. At this point I realized I was speaking to a new hire (when I was being signed in she mentioned being new) and she was taking my call to action as an attack so I asked to speak to the manager on duty. The manager was sitting at the desk and then reminded me that I was being given special treatment (having housekeeping replacement towels every other day) just before she suggested my purchasing pepper spray or a taser as a safety measure. It was an insult to say the least. I’ve never felt more humiliated addressing a safety concern. I understand it’s a budget hotel. I expected to need to bring my own blowdryer. Super friendly, hard-working, helpful and professional staff. This place has character, I love it. It’s what you would expect from a hostel, nothing more nothing less. Hostels are places to meet other travellers, and we did here, with lots of communal space. The “tent city” others mentioned was merely 3 tents down the block; it’s not like we were fighting our way to the door through an army of homeless people. I do recommend this place.

Great little gated hostel with an awesome atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and fun. We took advantage of both the free breakfast and the bbq party (with a full free bar?!) and had a great time. We had a private room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is a little shady, lots of homeless and tents but they keep to themselves and we felt safe behind the locked doors/gates. Just steps from lots of awesome food and shopping, super close to the main part of Hollywood blvd.

This was an old motel that they put paint on to look nice. wouldn't walk on floor with bare feet. Its across from a homeless shelter and a tent town within 100 ft. Pictures are deceiving, Hotel staff was very good and accommodating.

This property was an excellent value. For an economical price tag, this place filled all the requirements. Great staff! Very helpful and accommodating. Downside is the neighborhood outside is not the greatest. However, there is a big metal entrance gate that makes you feel safe. Quirky and charming hotel.

During my stay, on a rainy day from 6pm to 2 a.m the power went out which means no heater no accommodations. Also my 100 cash deposit was never filled when I checked in, had to come back 6 hours later when the employee that made the va mistake was present to verify.

Staff was nice, and the room was okay at first glance. However, we found a bed bug crawling on the bed pretty quickly into entering the room. Luckily we only spent about 15 minutes inside and hadn't really settled in at all. Needless to say we left immediately.

The place have a lot of pleasing character as show in their website. They hosted a fun event with free beer while we stayed there. The staff was very nice and my room was quite clean. I was also surprised that my room come with a full kitchen.

The room was fine but not particularly well-kept. I had about an 80% confidence that the room was clean but there was a wet washcloth at the bottom of the shower and several small bars of used soap on the top shelf in the shower that I don’t think housekeeping could see but should have checked on anyway. The sheets appeared clean but the blanket had a visible oil stain or some thing on it. Towels were very old and scratchy. The microwave was very rusted and I was a little afraid to use it. All of the dishes available were obviously washed by previous guests and put away with no check from the venue. I didn’t like that you couldn’t double lock the door. As a person traveling alone it left me uneasy that someone could come in if they had a key. Since it’s an older building there are crank windows, a fan on the wall, and an in window air conditioner in the kitchen that you have to use for the whole unit. The fan Horrendously dirty. Overall, I guess I got what I paid for but I’ve paid similar prices for things that felt a lot better overall.

This is a nice place to stay, though the city needs to address the homeless encampment which is completely blocking the sidewalk next to the hotel. One has to walk in the street to get around it -- this is dangerous.

Now the sad thing is I paid for a deluxe private suite. The pictures you see are NOTHING compared to what they have there. Very deceiving. So I can only imagine what the other rooms looked like. Third: The sounds. The mf thin af walls. I heard every single word spoken, every song they played, every step taken, every door slam from every single person staying at that place. Terrible, the place looked nothing like the pictures online. The shower was dirty and disgusting, the bathroom window was open when we first walked in. The area around the hotel was unsafe and a scary location. The front desk had trouble finding my reservation and told me I did not make a reservation even when I showed him my confirmation number. We had to pay to park in the hotel. I will never come back to this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was dirty, it looked completely different from the pictures advertised, the area was unsafe and uncomfortable.

The area around the hotel was unsafe and a scary location. The front desk had trouble finding my reservation and told me I did not make a reservation even when I showed him my confirmation number. We had to pay to park in the hotel. I will never come back to this place. I would never recommend this place to anyone. It was dirty, it looked completely different from the pictures advertised, the area was unsafe and uncomfortable.

Small and cozy room. Just stayed for one night. No free parking. I was charged 5 dollars cash when there was a sign that said free parking. Overall, it was a good stay. It was close to the hollywood palladium, where our concert was. I would stay again.

The Premium Double Room is old and didn't have any chair or furniture except 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. Stained sheet, cover, and towels. Nothing like pictures posted at their website or booking sites.

Cannot beat the price of the hotel. Especially its location. Everything was within a mile walking distance. Rooms were ok, you get what you get for the price. Running water, AC, and TV. It was definitely worth it for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome atmosphere and friendly people. Everyone working and staying at the hotel were like old friends greeting each other. Rooms are nice, and what I expected for the money. I would stay here again!

The area is safe but keep in mind that there are many homeless in LA, and they are sleeping along the streets of the hotel.

There is no room cleaning during the stay, so I recommend visitors to be clean and throw away your own garbage.

This part of Hollywood is seedy and rife with the homeless. Hotel maintains good standards for cleanliness and has friendly and helpful staff.

Nice and low key. It’s a vibe

This is a hidden hostel on the main street. What we loved was the room size and the price, however, there were bugs in the shower, a very uncomfortable mattress and an overall dated vibe.

I loved how almost everything looked brand new. And I love how spacious it was.

It was good cause we made the best if it everything was great except the cleaners never cleaned out room we had to ask for towels everyday from the first day we got there we seen the maid 1 time and she was shocked we ask for towels

April at the front desk was very professional and good natured.
