Reviews
The Village Inn is a well-kept property with spacious and comfortable rooms, appreciated for its quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Guests frequently mention the pool and jacuzzi as highlights, but some express dissatisfaction with the front staff's reserved or unfriendly demeanor.
- Spacious and comfortable rooms
- Quiet and peaceful atmosphere
- Front staff not welcoming or friendly
- Breakfast not included in room rate

Have passed by this property while traveling and always admired the curb appeal. My room was a bit dated, did not like the curtain separation between the bed and sink area. Tub needs either a bath mat or grab bar to prevent slipping after showering. Staff was great, cookie upon arrival was welcome. Room was quiet.
- 5/5
Great room! Love the breakfast buffet!
- 5/5
Nice clean place to stay. Food was good
- 5/5
Was a nice stop off with the moving van heading up north. Quiet area off the Buccees exit.
- 5/5
Wish I knew about this place sooner. Such a great find with clean rooms, great staff and a pool.
- 5/5
Had a great stay
- 5/5
Dog friendly hotel perfect! (Pay an extra fee per dog. Understandable. We all know as pet parents accidents happen, especially when one smells the other scents left behind from other doggies) Considering that, the room did not stink. Beds where clean, bathroom was clean. Sure there was areas on the carpet that need attention. All in all loved the stay. Area in back for the dogs to stretch and walk. Nice and private with the balcony facing the woods. Sign in you get complimary cookies/water. They also have a breakfast and dinner buffet with extremely friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great breakfast buffet and extremely nice staff. My room was clean and property was cute!
- 4/5
excellent restaurant attached to hotel, also its a quiet property
- 5/5
I have stayed here many times in the past few years. It is quiet especially in the rooms behind the check in area. The Inn has changed owners over the past year but it remains a beautiful area to stay on my trip and is maintaining the cleanliness and privacy I enjoy.
- 3/5
Room was ok but definitely a much dated property than expected and a bit of an “old” odor to the room. Rock hard pillows and mattress made you feel like you were rolling into center. Perhaps more research on my part should have been done.

Property was charming and the room was clean.

Super all
- 4/5
The room was clean. Bathroom was spotless. Everything was as it should be. Good price for the amenities offered.
- 5/5
This place is a gem. Clean room, safe srroundings, quiet, a great breakfast buffet, and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Very clean. Staff member who checked us in was very friendly.
- 4/5
Parking is great. You can get a room with a spot right at your door. Unfortunately, there were flies in the room. I’m guessing it was because of guests leaving the door open. The restaurant on the property is very good. Buffet style.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Loved the small couch. Loved the P. Buckley Moss prints on the wall. Appreciated the microwave and small refrigerator. Appreciated being able to park right in front of room.
- 5/5
Always clean and comfortable!
- 5/5
The fan in my heater made odd noises, but other than that everthing was super clean, quiet and comfortable.
- 4/5
A little disappointed to find only a minimal continental breakfast on Sunday morning, the only day the breakfast buffet is not available. My room was not quite as quiet as on past visits. Could hear someone snoring in the next room. Fairly convenient location out in the country, but not too far from I-81. A plus was a Buccees has been built at the exit to the Inn from the south.
- 5/5
Since January, I have stayed here 3 times. We were traveling from Connecticut to points south for our daughters. It is a convenient mid point between CT and South Carolina. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable, property is safe and quiet and the breakfast buffet is worth the cost. The servers were helpful and so very nice. This motel is down the road from a Bucee's, which was helpful so I could bring my in-laws for a first time visit. They were amazed! Would stay here again if the trip called for a one night stop.
- 5/5
This is a cool place...they had a walking trail. Park at your door convenience. Great $12 all u can eat country breakfast buffet. Historic place....1936 origins. Best stop on my road trip to Philadelphia. Blow off the chains and stop here.
- 5/5
Fantastic little spot. Friendly staff, clean and quaint facility. Beautiful views in every direction, nice and quiet inside the rooms.
- 5/5
This was the most adorable motel ever! I had a huge balcony and a jetted bathtub!
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
From the moment I checked in I had excellent and efficient service.
- 5/5
The little outside balcony that looked into a beautiful field and the rose bushes filled with birds was a wonderful unexpected surprise!
- 4/5
Location was wonderful clean room and the stay was nice
- 5/5
The staff at the village inn are so friendly and accommodating! The rooms are very clean and I highly recommend this location for your stay!!
- 5/5
Great place to stay - very helpful and friendly staff. Looking forward to staying here again.
- 4/5
The Village is a nice place. Girls trip we have been enjoying here for several years now. New owners this year but didn’t see any changes this year so that was good. We always enjoy our stay it’s clean and very peaceful. Will return again next year.
- 5/5
Clean room and cozy. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The shower and tub were great.
- 5/5
Beautiful place.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Very attentive waitress at breakfast that made sure we had plenty of coffee. Food was delicious. Nice to be able to walk around outside in a non-city setting but still very convenient to Rt. 81.
- 5/5
Just right for the price! Friendly staff, clean room, easy check-in.
- 5/5
The staff here is always friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The room was very comfortable and spacious. I had my own porch with chairs to sit on. The room was clean. Very dated furniture, but everything worked and was clean. The mattress is past it's prime - a little saggy, but not a big deal. Parking was perfect. It was very quiet and definitely safe. Someone came in and emptied my trash and freshened the towels after my first night. Wow... you don't see that anymore in a budget hotel. I have 2 more visits scheduled and look forward to returning.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great room! Staff was so friendly and I loved the breakfast. Great location! Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
I pulled in late. I had a tasty meal at the Sub Station Mexican Grill, then decided to stop for the night. It was lovely to find a quieter stay just 2 miles off of the exit. Each room has a balcony looking off into the fields. Skies are dark. Coffee and cookies were excellent. I'll definitely stop here again.
- 5/5
Very clean, and very charming hotel in a very quiet place!
- 5/5
Love staying here- friendly staff , clean room, breakfast is great at restaurant.
- 5/5
We only stayed one night. The staff was very pleasant to deal with and the place was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Room was immaculate, outside private patio was a nice touch. The food at the restaurant was AMAZING!!
- 5/5
Very well, maintained
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable, as well as a great value.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff! Loved sitting on the back porch watching the sun rise.
- 2/5
The little deck is nice but a table out there would be really good. The front desk clerks were very friendly and professional.
- 5/5
It was truly a nice motel, felt like being at home.
- 4/5
Staff at the hotel and restaurant were wonderful. There was plenty of parking. Breakfast was fine if you enjoy Southern-style offerings.
- 4/5
Just a place to sleep. Was wonderful.
- 2/5
Dog and human hair in the sheets and on the floor. Cold bathroom due to structure of building, but heated light bulb helped and room heater worked well. Regardless, I wasn't going to sleep in sheets with people and animal hairs, so I found another hotel to stay at. Would not recommend this hotel unless you are bringing your pet.
- 5/5
Overall the place was wonderful. There was an issue I've emailed management about that I believe was more employee related than policy related so it doesn't beat mentioning here.
- 5/5
We stayed while passing through from FL to NY. Hotel was cute and quiet. Just on the outskirts of town. We were able to rest well. I hadn't slept so well the night before and left my phone behind (while packing and tending to the kids). I was so upset, the property manager was great- he found it and had it sent back to me. He was very understanding and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Stayed for one night. Rooms were very clean and nice size.
- 5/5
Lovely older property, well kept up. Stayed just one night but would definitely return.
- 5/5
Loved it. Will return.
- 5/5
They are so friendly . Beds very comfortable. Room clean . We will definitely stay again if we are down that way.
- 2/5
Overall the hotel was great but we had an issue that would make us never return my 15 year old daughter and wife had a man open their room door with a do not disturb sign on it while my daughter was sleeping and my wife was in the shower
- 5/5
The suite was wonderful! The parking was totally convenient, right in front of the door, couldn't have been any closer. The buffet breakfast was tasty and the staff was friendly and helpful. We met the owner who was very personable and such a pleasure to do business with. We would definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
Food was just ok room is nice but staff literally walked into our room with a do not disturb sign clearly on the door and while my daughter was sleeping
- 4/5
Comfortable for a nights stay
- 5/5
This place is clean and the staff is polite. The breakfast buffet was worth every dollar!!!
- 5/5
It would be nice if they can change the toilet seats as they are very old. Maybe the carpets need to change
- 3/5
Hotel is between two major highways and truck noise is constant. Bathroom floor was filthy. Many upgrades needed.
- 5/5
Room was clean and staff were friendly, bathroom was a bit tiny even from a hotel standpoint and even with do not disturb sign on door front desk staff called waking us up to see if we wanted housekeeping and was told no and with do not disturb sign still on door housekeeping knocked again asking if we wanted any service
- 5/5
The Hot Tub and Pool were closed. Honestly that was a big disappointment but the room was great. The people in the room next door were loud and i heard banging all through the night. Honestly would recommend a quit hour for future reference.
- 5/5
This was a charming little hotel, with an outdoor deck on the back of each room, large rooms, and even a playground. We would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
The cutest little place to stay!!! Clean, cozy, friendly staff!
- 4/5
Not bad.....little small for me....stuffy smelling we fixed that a piece or two of hair on the covers...the food on the buffet looked good. But we didn't have to eat woke up to late
- 5/5
Very nice and cozy
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff friendly. Room could use some updating and an internal lock on the door.
- 3/5
The new owners are very friendly. The grounds could be kept a bit nicer. There has been trash just thrown out and left. The carpets are in dire need of changing. The curtains could use a good washing. The last time we stayed, there was mosquitos and other bugs in the room. So a visit from exterminator would be a plus. I liked staying here because there was a nice walking path , but this past summer it was not walkable. Hopefully the new owners will get into a rhythm and get the place in shape.
- 3/5
spacious room, clean, basic
- 5/5
This was the best hotel we've stayed in for many years, and it has a very nice restaurant on-site with a great buffet breakfast. The room was clean, very spacious, all amenities (microwave, mini-fridge, larger than most rooms), and we were very comfortable there. It's our style - back the car up to the door and unload - no lugging baggage up stairs or using a trolley. We wish we could go back on a regular basis!
- 5/5
The staff is always very friendly. The rooms are spacious.
- 5/5
This place was a great find. Accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We'll be back again in our future travels through the area.

GREAT breakfast!!!
- 3/5
The room I was originally assigned was dirty when I opened the door. Night attendant gave me another room and it was fine for a few hours of sleep.
- 5/5
Our room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. Jet tube. Very clean. Nice private deck out the back. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Homemade cookies in the lobby is a nice touch. The breakfast was just okay. Cereal, some fruit and pastries. The location is excellent
- 5/5
One of the best places I've stayed. The staff are very professional. It's pet friendly, has restaurant on site that serves breakfast and lunch at an extra cost.
- 5/5
Always a nice stay
- 1/5
The room was substantially smaller than expected based on the pictures. The room itself appeared clean albiet cramped and very dated. There was a VERY strong scent of mold upon entering the room, which unfortunately gave me a severe headache within a half hour of setting in.

Room wasn’t necessarily dirty but not clean either. Terrible mattress. Not enough pillows. Heating/Air did not work to what we adjusted it to - set heat, would heat and then blow cold air and change on its own. Called front desk before ending hours and no one answered

Parking lot was poorly plowed from recent snowstorm with little direct access to your rooms. I had two heavy boxes of groceries we purchased that needed to go into the room because of the cold went up to the office to complain about access to room and young Indian man came down to my car and unloaded the two heavy boxes into my room. Did the same thing the next morning when we were ready to leave we’re ready to leave

While the room and shower pressure were decent, the overall experience was unacceptable. A lobby attendant asked me to give a random man a ride because I had a vehicle listed. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, and I was scared the entire night. This was highly inappropriate and shows a lack of concern for guest safety.

We didn't stay there because we couldn't get in the parking lot. We have a truck and are pulling an RV.. Also, the place was described as having a restaurant but it was closed.

Just know there are some things to be aware of for families. Some rooms near the play area are on the far side of the hotel are a little remote during the off season. The workout room is in the basement of a separate locked building.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN STAFF AND THE WAY THE CLEANING LADY AND I WILL ASSUME MANAGER OWNER APPROACHED ME WHEN I PULLED UP TO MY ROOM THE SECOND DAY OF MY STAY. THEY CONTINUED TO WATCH ME AND I WAS WATCHING THEM. THE SECOND ISSUE WAS I SAW A ROACH ON MY NIGHT STAND.

The property has a certain charm to it, with its dormer, porch, and chimney, Williamsburg-style, architecture, but it’s dated and is in serious need of updating. The rooms themselves are very large, almost 20 x 30 feet, furnished with 2 queen beds, end table, loveseat, coffee table, desk, straight chair, and entertainment center, and there was plenty of space to move around. However, the wall art looked like something you’d find in a trash bin, the bed left me with a serious backache in the morning, and the drywall in the ceiling had a crack the width of the room, with chipped paint falling down. The entertainment center was by the door, centered in front of the loveseat. If you were in either bed, you had to strain your neck to watch tv, and the tv didn’t have a swivel feature on the base. Call me old-fashioned, but I like the peace of mind to have a chain or bar on the inside of the room door, which is missing at this motel. One previous reviewer was correct in pointing out the isolated location of this property. It’s not within walking distance of anything, but Buc-ees is less than a 5 minute drive away. Further, in the 3 rooms that I occupied, all had a strong, foul smell. Take some Febreeze and a Glade plugin, if you plan to stay. Also, the outlets in the table lamps don’t work very well.

A spotless room and excellent customer service! The staff were very accommodating for late check-in (11pm). They also offer a breakfast buffet for an additional fee which was very tasty!

Room was clean.

The room did not look updated.\nThe second morning , we woke up to the toilets , not working. I had to cut my stay short by a day and they wouldn't refund my money
- 5/5
Hello - Staff was welcoming and helpful. Hotel was quaint - room was well appointed and very clean. There was a good size deck for each room which was very nice. The hotel was extremely quiet but still very close to downtown area and other places we wanted to visit. They allow pets so next time we can bring along! Will stay there again!

The only problem was thin walls. Otherwise wonderful room.
- 5/5
Super nice folks and lovely accommodations for the price point.

I did not eat breakfast, although it looked great. Check-in was easy and quick and the staff member was very friendly. I love the rooms here and the fact that you can park directly in front of your door
- 5/5

Fine but pretty slow. I was tired.
- 5/5
yes, clean room, supportive, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet
- 1/5
All I wanted was a clean place to sleep after a 12 hr drive. What I got: a large room that seemed clean at first glance. Upon closer inspection, I got dog hair on pillows, flies, dead bugs in the bathroom light, mold on the ceiling, hair in the shower, soap scum next to the sink faucet, and a used bandaid on the floor. The commerical soap dispenser in the shower was a choice. Management arbitrarily offered $15 for my pet fee (that i still haven’t received) and nothing for the gross condition. Hotels.com did nothing but offer $25 one key cash to spend more money with them and take a chance that they do nothing. I chose this place based on the reviews that it was clean and nothing fancy. What a lie.
- 5/5
Room very clean & cozy!
- 5/5
Great, comfortable, clean! Excellent value. My only complaint would be wifi and breakfast were not explained to me.
- 5/5
This property was a pleasure! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It is very quaint and close to restaurants and shopping.

Not to mention a very nice breakfast option.
- 5/5
Clean room, staff was so nice! Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
This little roadside hotel is a hidden little gem on the outskirts of Harrisonburg. Rooms are clean, roomy and have all the amenities including coffe maker, fridge and toiletries. The room costs are very reasonable and easy access to the interstate. Only downfall is that the matresses could use updating, however, bed was still comfortable. Highly recommend, this was our second time staying.
- 5/5
All the above
- 5/5
This is by far beats any hotel stay. Convenience of one floor, no elevator and it’s impeccably well kept. It has a workout room that exceeds most hotels , balconies and jetted tubs! The restaurant and buffet , excellent and well priced. Traveling health professionals, this is the best! I almost forget there is a walking trail in a nature setting! It does have a pool and hot tub. This will certainly change your mind on motel stays! They even had fresh baked complimentary cookies individually wrapped for guests at night!
- 5/5
Our second stay at the village Inn and everything was perfect thank you very much
- 5/5

- 5/5
Second time staying here, we enjoy everything about it. Clean, spacious, affordable rooms, staff is very friendly. We hit the breakfast buffet and it was an excellent choice before continuing our travels. Will definitely be back and highly recommended.
- 5/5

Clean room. Nice amenities.
- 3/5
The staff was awesome. There were cockroaches in the room. I reported it and they said they were going to address it. Other than that it was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Throwback kind of place!! And that’s a good thing!!
- 5/5
From the moment I opened the door to the room I was impressed. The layout and the size of the room was more than just an ordinary room, and was surprised to find a deck with chairs. The morning buffett in the restaurant was very good, but was surprised that the coffee and juice was extra $$.
- 5/5
The room was clean and had lovely decor. Everyone was very friendly.
- 5/5
Good establishment
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. The shower curtain smelled of mildew but otherwise the bathroom was impeccable. The breakfast was very yummy and the coffee was delicious. We very much enjoyed our atay at The Village Inn!
- 5/5

Room was decently big and clean. It's a one level hotel so don't have to worry about stairs.
- 5/5
Very well maintained vintage style property. Friendly and capable staff at desk. Great breakfast!
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly Staff. Comfortable mattress.
- 3/5
The room was in very good condition when we arrived; however, housekeeping was very lack for the remainder of our stay. Towels stayed on the floor and trash was not emptied 2 days in a row. In addition, the toilet was not cleaned the entirety of our stay. We had to go to the office twice for towels. When tissues ran out, we left the empty box on the counter; the box was removed but tissues not replaced. We have stayed here before and expected the same excellence we've had in the past. New ownership is definitely not the same!
- 5/5
Great hotel. Clean and comfortable and great location. Enjoyed the very spacious room.

The staff was friendly & courteous. The room was nice, but I was disappointed to see that the washcloths were stained. Also, the refrigerator was turned all the way down, so I couldn't store my food. I also could not set the thermostat to a temp I was comfortable with. They did have a nice restaurant attached, and made me a to go breakfast sandwich on request. I think with a few "tweaks" I would give them 5 stars.
- 5/5
I will definitely make the Village Inn a stop-over on my trips between Vermont and North Carolina.
- 5/5
Comfy bed, nice pillows. Husband loved the breakfast buffet, I ordered off menu, eggs perfect:so was the waitress. Loved the jecuzzi in the room and the old school heat lamp in bathroom. Yes, this place is old but well loved and cared for. I always return here when in the area. Consistently treated like family.
- 5/5
Very clean room and comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Great area and a great place to stay, very clean and a great breakfast
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
Clean room, staff very friendly
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Very nice and clean!
- 5/5
This is my second stay with my cat. He was very comfortable also. There were no bad hiding places for him.
- 5/5
So affordable and you get such a clean, large, comfortable space. Everything was easy. Loved it!
- 5/5
I have stayed there multiple times. The rooms and their themed style are a good choice, and the hot tubs are a great bonus in almost all rooms, I believe. I’ll be back for sure many times ahead.
- 5/5
Always enjoy my stay here
- 5/5
This is a great choice because the room has everything you could want at a great price. I stop here on my trips from Atlanta to New York and it's always great value for money.
- 3/5
I thought this hotel looked really charming and was in a good spot for my families needs. The staff were wonderful and checkin/checkout was a breeze. Room was very spacious with everything you need. Bigger minifridge was great, direct tv, two sink vanity, I could tell the room had been renovated at some point.. Mountain view was a plus and its not near anything so we liked that. Now for the downsides. You can hear you neighbors slamming doors all night and would not recommend during a JMU game weekend. We had drunk 20 year olds next to us. Our towels were old and mine was very thredbare. The shower head needed serious cleaning or replacement and jetted tubs were old. There was a soap dispenser in the shower that looked like it was from the 90s and had that yellowed plastic look. I think they could just remove all those TBH. Coat hangers fell apart when Itried to use them. Outlets on lamp were loose and nothing stayed plugged in, No fitted sheet on the bed , just a flat sheet to cover the matteress cover... that was wierd. Overall not bad for the price. The little dining room breakfast is inexpensive a delicious at $11 a person.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and very clean, as were the sinks and bathroom. A/C worked perfectly. Although my room was closest to a busy road the noise was minimal. The staff was very friendly and efficient
- 3/5
Older facility, clean, good location to stay at for this area, cost fair, staff nice
- 4/5
This hotel is great value for the money. Would absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
Always clean, convenient and safe
- 5/5
The room was nice but my key stopped working long before check out and the staff could not get another to work so I had to ask to be let in and out of my room which was very annoying. Three times they told me they fixed my key and it never worked.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Clean room. Easy access off highway. Suggest you take rooms in the back of property as the front facing ones have high traffic noise with early morning. Good value regardless.
- 5/5
we stay here every year overnight passing thru. Always friendly and clean. We like they are friendly
- 5/5
This old style motor inn is a true gem. Don’t hesitate to stay here, you will love it!
- 5/5
Staff was cordial and vèry helpful.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was outstanding, and our waitress always had our coffee cups full. Only issue was the shower in room 109 was not draining properly. We let them know at check out. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
- 4/5
Clean room, great parking options, quaint
- 2/5
A little too far out from Harrisonburg and the cooking process was tedious
- 5/5
People were very nice and helpful. Room was clean.
- 5/5
Quaint, like when I was a child. Great value, breakfast worth the price. Friendly staff. Old, needs some upgrades but overall very comfortable!
- 5/5
Large, clean room. Very helpful staff.
- 5/5
The room was gorgeous and had a balcony. We asked the girl at the front desk for a recommendation for somewhere to eat since their restaurant was closed and she just generally said “in that direction there’s some restaurants about 10 minutes away”.
- 5/5
Very homelike. Old but not rundown at all with interesting history. Picturesque setting. Breakfast not included but inexpenssive and excellent. Great price overall.
- 5/5
Comfortable and friendly as always. A little disappointed we didn’t get a balcony this time but we lived.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious room. Bathtub is a jetted tub so very deep to get in and out of with no grab bar. Only real complaint is that air condition makes room smell musty and bothered my asthma.
- 4/5
Nice for the price!
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly , the restaurant was excellent for breakfast.
- 5/5
Overall great stay.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly, the rooms need to be a bit updated. Location was ok.
- 5/5
It was good
- 5/5
I always stay here when I’m in the area. I like the simplicity and old school feel of this motel. The on site restaurant is a bonus.
- 3/5
Con: the rooms have a sensor or timer that turns the A/C off after so many minutes/hours. I cool the room and leave room and return and the room is hot. I set temp for 68 and go to bed, I wake up at 4am and it’s still set for 68 but the room is 74. As soon as I touch the thermostat it comes back on and cools. The units are set to time out automatically to save money. This may be energy-saving but it’s a deal breaker for me. I stayed 2 nights here. Won’t be back cause of the A/C timeout.
- 5/5
What a great place to stay! Very clean, very well kept spacious room. I plan on making this my go-to place to stay when I’m in the Harrisonburg area.
- 5/5
Very clean. Love the it’s bigger and just has a different feel and look than other hotels. And love the deck/balcony, you don’t get those anywhere else. Felt more like home.
- 5/5
Love the location.
- 5/5
I have stayed at the Village inn several times and stay was always present. Only problem this time was a noisy air conditioner.
- 4/5
Convenient and clean
- 5/5
I have stayed here multiple times over the past four years and they never disappoint. Always on point in every way. I highly recommend this fine establishment.
- 5/5
Wonderful check in experience!!! Very friendly/quick process/large, very clean and comfortable room. Shower was amazing - really hot water and great flow!!! Surrounding area is quiet/nice pool/and an amazing fresh produce/flower farm on the road to the hotel just off the interstate!!! Picked up our fresh vegetables for dinner this week and some fall decorations ( gourds and pumpkins). Very reasonable prices as was the price of our room at the inn!!! Would stay there again!!!
- 3/5
The room was clean and comfortable but there was no soap in the soap dispenser in the bathroom. The restaurant was totally not worth the price. The potatoes were cold and the quality of food was about the same as hotels with free breakfast.
- 5/5
This place is great! I've stayed here several times over the years and it's always been nice.
- 5/5
Will stay there anytime we are in the area!!
- 3/5
Room size was great. The water in the shower was barely warm.
- 5/5
Excellent stay in every way… price, easy parking, clean, comfortable…
- 5/5
Have stayed many times at Village Inn love the place it’s great for friend weekend. Rooms are always clean and very comfortable and safe
- 5/5
We love this property. Very clean and spacious.
- 5/5
The Village Inn is our go to hotel st least 3-4 times a year. We "snowbird" and this is the perfect stopping place. It is clean, comfortable and quiet. There is alot of greenspace with a small playground but provides a area for letting the kiddos play.
- 5/5
Pool
- 5/5
Captures the down homeness of the valley. I grew up in Bridgewater and moved away so when I come for a visit I always try to stay here - it's the next best place to be - since I can't stay in my childhood home.
- 4/5
Just a classic motor lodge, in the best way.
- 5/5
The fact that the credit card was charged multiple times for 2 rooms that was to be divided by 4.
- 4/5
My wife and I stayed here and our major issue was that the bed was merely a double size bed and way too soft. It was like sleeping in a limp taco shell. Nearly impossible to get up and roll out of. No back support whatsoever so we began each morning with annoying backaches.
- 3/5
Carpet is disgusting in pet friendly rooms. One person couch
- 5/5
This place was amazing. Glad I stayed here over bigger chains. Thank you!
- 5/5
Quite and had a nice country setting.
- 5/5
Such a quaint place off the beaten path. VERY reasonably priced. On site restaurant, pool, jacuzzi. I've stayed there 3 times so far and never been disappointed. It's halfway from home to family.
- 5/5
Clean property, very clean pool, very friendly staff, cheap buffet and well worth it, great food, will stay here again
- 5/5
Very comfortable and clean room. Clean, everything was perfect! Best deal around this area. No free breakfast but they have a very reasonable buffet for breakfast and lunch. Excellent food!
- 4/5
The hotel in the area was very nice. Very nice staff and the area is nice and country like. I gave it a 4 only because it is a little bit outdated and needs remodeling, and the cleaning could be better. We found quite a bit of dust. With that being said, I would not mind staying here again.
- 5/5
Have stayed before and it accommodates my dogs and me very well. Beautiful property and very convenient to get to from the highway. Had slight blip with my room but was worked out with the front desk with no problem.
- 4/5
room near pool very noisy, no close restaurants. have stayed there many time price was very high for what was offered. wont stay again
- 5/5
The property was impeccably maintained. the rooms were spotless. The deck off the back of the room with an unexpected treat. The cost of the breakfast was well worth it. We could not have been happier with the property. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks to all of the staff.
- 5/5
I had a great stay — the rooms were well-kept, clean, and quiet, which made for a relaxing experience. One of the highlights was the private patio attached to the room — a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some fresh air. Highly recommended for a peaceful and comfortable stay!
- 5/5
What a great place to stay! So charming, great views, nice big rooms. Hot tub was nice with a nice view!
- 5/5
Attractive motor court reimagined. Room was huge and attractively decorated. Price was excellent.
- 5/5
Very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms.
- 1/5
The bathroom smelled of wallpaper and mold which was visible as well as flies. They showed us another room and it was worse and was too late to go elsewhere.
- 5/5
The Village Inn has become a regular stop for me as I travel to and from NY and Ga. Easy travel access, quiet, clean.
- 4/5
The room was great and hotel services went smoothly. The one minor comment was about the breakfast buffet. Everything was fine but for a breakfast that ended up costing $16/person before the tip it would have been nice to find something that was exceptional
- 5/5
Staying here is like being in your favorite aunt's guest room. Roomy, but cozy. I stay here whenever possible.
- 5/5
Nice clean room with a cute little deck. Very cozy. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Quiet area, easy access to highway.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and nice updates.
- 5/5
Quiet, beautiful setting, clean
- 5/5
Incredible comfortable stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean and provided everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay at a more than reasonable rate. And don’t forget to try the amazing breakfast buffet in the mornings. We would definitely stay here again on future trips.

This was our 4th or fifth stay here. We travel from Florida to Vermont each summer for a brief respite from summer heat. This is a wonderful spot. It is quiet, friendly and very convenient.
- 5/5
Great stay and VERY clean property. The front desk girl was sooo sweet and kind!
- 5/5
The room was spacious and very clean. It is a short way from Bridgewater where we visited relatives. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets which offered a variety of options. Will stay again
- 5/5
Wonderful place, would stay at again. Came late left early. So didn't get to experience what else was offered.
- 5/5
Peaceful, clean, convenient.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay. Went up for JMU graduation. Room was very clean and a nice size.
- 5/5
This family-owned inn has been lovingly cared for in different iterations since the 1920’s, when route 11 was the main road for east - west travel. I loved the field behind the inn and the mowed path down the creek. While the furniture in my room was old, it was clean and comfortable. I made use of the jetted tub, and had the weather been warmer, would have gone for a swim. I liked the country feel of the location. Although I didn’t eat at the buffet in the morning, the breakfast looked full and delicious. For me, it was worth driving a mile or two off 81 and being out of town to enjoy a quieter, more serene experience than staying in a chain hotel right at the exit.
- 2/5
- 5/5
I got a pet friendly room and it was easy to take my dog out.
- 4/5
Very good value, lovely grounds
- 3/5
The room had an unusual chemical smell. The soaps were too tiny to use. The breakfast seemed to be made from unhealthy premade mixes. Even the syrup was suspect-no maple flavor and as probably all high fructose corn syrup. The coffee was average. When you pay $12./person you expect better, especially from the reviews. Oh, and there was a very vocal threesome shrieking in the middle of the night. Other than that, it was great!
- 5/5
This is not a cookie cute motel room, really enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
Nice area, safe, friendly staff, clean facilities.
- 5/5
Different type of hotel setup. Family run place, show unique care of place for years with memorable history. Rooms so great with layouts, wallpapering great tastes. so very clean. Jacuzzi bathtubs so terrific to have in a hotel room. We have been coming here for years when we would be traveling bet. our places in CT & FL & then ME & FL. Brought our pets with so much great space for walking & exploring the property. Enjoyed the golf putting green. The breakfast buffets were something to look forward & enjoy! Food & people. I think we may miss tomorrow. Sun. ? breakfast- not doing? What happens to the local people coming after or before church?
- 4/5
Very quaint little inn. Could use a bit of an update, but rooms were clean and comfortable
- 3/5
Lovely property and good accommodations!
- 5/5
Enjoyable stay
- 4/5
I had a room that was very noisy due to traffic noise
- 5/5
Love the jetted tubs in the rooms
- 5/5
Liked very much. Planning on staying again
- 5/5
Affordable accommodation with clean rooms and updated decor. I wish restaurant was open on weekends.
- 4/5
Homey , comfortable , great price, great location to James Madison . For a minimal fee we had a fantastic breakfast in the bright and cheery dining area. Check in personnel and waitress in the restaurant were very friendly . Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
No issues.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Great location. Booked this last minute and it worked out perfectly. I misread the amenities and thought I was being charged for something that was included. I have stayed in many hotels before and they usually include the breakfast, but this specific hotels doesn’t which is fine since they advertised it.
- 5/5
Great old school motel with modern appearance and cleanliness. Great little restaurant with real breakfast food. Just love this place.
- 3/5
Very personable staff. Great check in. Very disappointed in the fitness area. Was here for family so didn’t spend much time. Cozy but needs to be upgraded a little bit.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel! One of the most safest, quietest, and comfortable atmospheres I’ve experienced.
- 5/5
Nice overnight stay
- 5/5
It was a pleasant and clean stay. Thanks
- 5/5
Very clean, property was well kept. Check-in was easy, beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
It was the nicest place I have stayed in a long time charming and comfortable
- 5/5
Near Bridgewater College

My wife and I love staying at the Village Inn when we are traveling Rt 81. The breakfast buffet is great and the area around the inn is great for walking our dog.
