Residence Inn by Marriott Harrisonburg

One night stay for our trip home from CT. This was our forth time at this hotel. We'll definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, excellent facility, excellent staff. Only thing I think could be improved was bed comfort. They were firm for my liking and the pillows were also. Other than that great place Bed was on the firm side as was the pillows

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very kind and helpful. The salt water pool and hot tub were clean and comfortable. No complaints here.

For a night on the road, the hotel is well back from the Interstate and pretty much the rest of business area, shops etc

The outside was clean and it looked very nice. The ceiling in the room had water stains. Everything else was nice, but the water stains above the kitchen was hard to not look at.

Bath tub hot water was regulated down - couldn't get hot enough for my tastes. Pot in kitchen was scratched up. Friday morning breakfast was awesome, Saturday's was crowded, not well stocked, messy. This is a great facility, though, and we'll use it again.

Both elevators were down, the first one from 4:30 the previous day and the other later that evening. Neither were working in the am. Hard to believe their service provider did not have a tech on call.

The breakfast was also underwhelming, with a very limited menu and low-quality options that didn’t meet the Marriott standard I expected. The room itself was overpriced and clearly in need of renovation. There were visible damages to the walls and wallpaper, and the overall appearance felt tired and uninviting. Even the gym was disappointing — very little equipment and not well maintained. For the price I paid, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it until serious updates and cleaning improvements are made.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered so many options and was very nice. The room was very clean and stocked. The pool area was clean, the pool itself looked like it could use a good scrub as the bottom was extremely discolored. Overall nice place to stay.

Stay here every time we travel back and forth to Florida. Always enjoy the hotel and love the town of Harrisonburg.

Great checking rep! Room (suite) had issues though. Outlet by mirror did not work gfi broken so had to blow dry hair in kitchen. The door lock kept jamming. And the patch job in bathroom shower was visibly poor. Great breakfast. Great pool room.

What I liked about this property was the great Breakfast Service in the morning. Good option for a person who’s looking to eat healthy, but also skip that. The cleaning around the place is great. There is nothing I didn’t like about the hotel. Overall a good experience!

Location was great. Rooms were nice and well equipped. We had a two room suite and there was so much space. The breakfast was disappointing. When I asked the woman at breakfast for gluten free options she didn’t really know what to say. She said I couldn’t eat anything except Cheerios and she gave me a packaged chocolate dessert muffin. I asked about the eggs and bacon and she said no. It didn’t make sense. I had yogurt and a banana. She wasn’t trained on it. We went down in our last night to go swimming and use the jacuzzi. After skiing all day we just wanted a nice hot soak in the jacuzzi. Well, it wasn’t working and the water was cold. The water in the pool was cold too and the pool area was cold with no humidity or anything. The front desk woman was so nice and came to flip some switches in the mechanical room, she even called a maintenance worker at home to try to fix it, but nothing work. So we swam in the cold and were all disappointed.

I’m very upset about our Christmas holiday. Stay here I booked my reservations on Hotels.com in advanced just to get there and they tell me the room I booked is not available on top of that all the amenities that was in the room that I booked was not available in the room that they were given us. Which was very frustrating to me because the food that I bought we needed a full stove/oven not a microwave so basically some of my items went to waste on top of out of our whole six days of staying there I requested for a manager who I still never spoke with very unacceptable was really bothering to me because I had to stay in a room for three days that we did not book also without the king bed for more space then when they did move us because I went back to request for a move for the third time we get to the room, no sheets, no washcloth and towels at this point I was just ready to go home and was just very pissed off at this point and you offer me nothing. Honestly speaking it’s not about you all giving me anything. It’s about the accommodation because the mistake that was made from jump.

Not sure why I, being a Bonvoy member was bumped, but I was. There was little sympathy about the issue at the desk, and the manager never even offered any type of reimbursement/credits for the inconvenience. We will stay elsewhere next time we are in the area.

Entire staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a notch above the typical hotel layout and the staff seemed to care. Heated saltwater pool was highlight for the kids. Easy access to many restaurants.

Check-in was a problem. We were first given a room in the top floor., but when we went to open the door, the key didn't work so we brought all our luggage back downstairs. we were then given a key to the farthest room on the first floor. Once we arrived with all our luggage and we opened the door there was another person in the room. We then brought our luggage back to the desk and was given a key to the farthest room on the top floor. That key worked, but we were tired roaming the whole building with our luggage. The people on the front desk were full of apologies, and the rest of the stay was nice, room and breakfast.

We stayed just one night heading south on New Years eve. Chose it for the convenience to 81 and the larger than usual room. Well run, clean, easy on/off and lots nearby in the way of stores and restaurants. Room was nicely done.

Our first room was nice but the toilet was clogged. We were moved across the hall and that room just wasn't clean. There were nail clippings on the floor next to the bed, dog hair on the couch, hair on the bathroom floor, the kitchen floor was sticky, dust on the shelves and headboard.. it needs a deep cleaning. I found out in the morning that the shower drain was also clogged. I notified the front desk and was told they will comp my room. It was my rewards night so I'm not sure how that will work or if it will even happen, I still haven't heard from the manager and don't feel I was taken seriously. The room was free but I'm disappointed that the night I earned was wasted on a bad experience. The hallways could use a good cleaning too. I didn't take advantage of the free breakfast or use the pool, staying in a room that dirty just ruined the whole experience for me. This hotel was rated high, that's why I stayed there. I'm not sure why a place with such low standards would have such a high rating. I travel often and this was definitely one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

Lovely space. Right off Highway. We arrived in the evening and the front desk gentleman was dealing with numerous guest questions at one time. He was very attentive to each guest. He could have used a coworker but staffing is an issue these days so we were patient. He was awesome.

Lovely space. Right off Highway. We arrived in the evening and the front desk gentleman was dealing with numerous guest questions at one time. He was very attentive to each guest. He could have used a coworker but staffing is an issue these days so we were patient. He was awesome.

They were not ready for a large group.. A softball team checked in the same day and my room wasn't ready until well after 5pm. The catch phrase was a " we're sorry, wait one sec" for three hours!!! I guess they were short staffed, but after that everything else seemed to be adequate.

The rooms and common areas were tired. It was not very clean. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Room keys didn’t work there just THREE times I was given them upon check in. Breakfast was revive both days I tried it.

The staff was extremely friendly and when there was a maintenance issue with our room it was fixed promptly and with a great attitude.

Initially our fireplace did not work for the first 2 days of our stay but the engineer, william, made every effort to correct the problem and did. This was important for us because this was our first outing since the pandemic started and we wanted it to be special ❤. The front desk staff and housekkeping could not have been more pleasant and customer service oriented. We hopefully will be Back.

A few customers totally ignored the wearing a mask when entering and engaging the front desk staff. Don't know if that would ever change but otherwise the experience was great.

Overall, we found the hotel very clean. The room itself looked and smelled clean. However, there was a bit of mildew on the shower liner.

It was quiet and breakfast was nice.

They have some of the most helpful and friendliness staff I have ever encountered in all my travels, from the front desk, housekeeping, or breakfast staff. Amazing. Great experience.

I booked a King bed and studio. I was told because of using a third party for reservations I’m not guaranteed a king. The pullout couch had springs sticking in my son’s back. He recently had surgery so it was an uncomfortable night! I asked for a different room and was told they were full. For the money and being a Marriott it was totally disappointing! I let the manager know and he said he would pass it on. Sure...

Stayed overnight prior to JMU tour. Entire hotel smelled like wet dog, elevators were horrible. Room set up was nice as we have a king in the bedroom and pull out sofa for kids with small kitchen. Cleanliness of room was just ok, you could tell bathroom had not been scoured. We had to go downstairs to front desk for towels. Definitely not like any other Marriott experience we have had. Would not stay again.

Also, they check you credit cards, as they double charged me for my stay. When I asked why, they said it’s just an authorization and it will go away once I check out, nothing went away and charges got posted to my account.

Great overall experience

We arrived to the hotel and check in was simple. When we got to the room my son found someone’s cap to their drink on the floor and handed it to me. There was hair on the sheets on one side of the bed. I went to get the spare blanket down from the closet because it was a bit cold and it was crumpled up with hair on it too. The couch also had some discoloration on it. I wasn’t sure what it was so we avoided sitting there. The room would have been excellent if not for these few issues.

The room was laid out weird, you could not open the bathroom door if someone was at the sink. The HVAC system was old and dated. The housekeeper spoke absolutely no English. Also, the women at the front desk had a terrible attitude. On the positive side, the room and lobby were very clean. The hotel was located around multiple places of interest and diverse culinary establishments.

Nice rooms, but crowded gym and pool, even during this pandemic, with no convenient time for lap swimming. Adult health conscious guests would prefer to swim in the morning, before checkout time. I chose the hotel in a large part due to the existence of a pool, but was unable to use it.

Breakfast was upsetting. HATED having staff serve us from a window. Felt judged and embarrassed. I know...COVID.... You should just go continental with individually wrapped stuff, maybe wrapped breakfast sandwiches or pancakes you can take back and microwave. But waiting for them to serve you like that is horrible. Enough to make an otherwise nice stay under the circumstances terrible. It’s traumatic for people who grew up with abusive parents over food. Won’t come back.

The hotel was oversold when we arrived but Amanda, the manager, did her very best to ensure we were well taken care of. Very pet-friendly hotel. Close to skiing abs the highway with plenty of restaurants and shops close by. Highly recommend it!

All fine. Entrance confusing and no signage to explain that lobby is upstairs. Covid affected amenities but understandable.

I did not like the fact my room was roach infested and when i mentioned the issue to the front desk i was only offered a free soda

Check in person was very friendly and helpful. A wonderful addition to any staff. The pet fee was very overpriced for a one night stay.

Clean rooms very friendly staff. Always had bottled water available. Breakfast was terrible. COLD. had to ask for everything. May I have a plate for my eggs please. Now a napkin. And a knife and fork please. On it went with juice etc etc. that was just a laziness issue with one employee. I understand the need for plastic eggs and sausage but at least make it hot!!

Our stay was amazing with a slight nuisance. The furnace in room 107 was too loud and woke us 2X. The Staff was awesome (Angela, Angela C., Arlette) from entrance to exit, as was house keeping (Randy) and maintenance (William).
