We stayed o. 6-6-26 there was roaches in our room

I immediately asked for a refund. I’ll specifically ask for a non smoking room. When we walked into the room, it was filled with old musky smoke smell. We checked the beds like we always do and there was cigarette burn holes in both of the queen size beds on top of the comforter. I immediately went down and spoke to the office clerk, and he stated that he could only change the room one more time and that was it. I told him that I requested a non-smoking room and he said that that was a non-smoking room would not recommend.

Serves good breakfast. Staff is helpful. Excellent location. Good for overnight stay. Rooms are worth $75 for sure, not more than that. So if anyone is getting a deal of $75/under - grab it.

Avoid this place just horrible where to begin well the hotel looks like it hasn't been updated since 1990 including the beds. The air conditioner made noise and smelled like smoke everytime heat was used. The breakfast was stale cereal and spoiled milk that made my daughter sick. There were people yelling and partying getting stoned in front of our door at 2am and nothing was done nor would front desk answer the phone. On check out day which is supposed to be 11 our keys stopped working at 9 two times. Then the worst we were charged 100 because my daughters tampon leaked a little on the 15 year old sheets you could literally see through and the hotel was too cheap to put a 3 dollar mattress protector on the bed

I booked 4 rooms and everyone of them were terrible. All of them smelled so bad like weed/smoke and one smelled like sewer so bad. We told the staff and they came to look and said they couldn’t smell anything. This is the worst I have ever had at this facility

This is a older hotel, one floor where you park in front of your door. While traveling we try to find these hotels. Although older it was very clean, smelled good and besides a couple people walking past our door very quiet. (No slamming doors, drunks in hallways, or kids running down hallway). There are a few obvious full time clients, but no one bothered us or our vehicle. Oh and parking has enough lights to be daylight all night long. I will definitely stay again when we go through the area again. Oh, and the tv was great with lots of channels. Really nothing! Just understand it’s an older property so not a lot of fancy extras, but we’re not into all that anyway.

Maid service was annoying and stupid trash removal only no changing of the sheets ever. Breakfast was stale cereal and spoiled milk and rotten orange juice. Front desk staff was rude of day of check out refusing to reduce my key at 9 when check out clearly stated 11. 90 percent of the staff can barely speak English. A call to Osha is needed

Well first they lied out their ass on hotels.com saying there is a seasonal pool doesn't exist. Breakfast is stale cereal and muffins and spoiled room temp milk. Orange juice that tasted rotten and no apple juice for days. TV and air conditioner worked when they felt like it and the air conditioner was loud and either froze us or roasted us. There were people getting high right outside our door constantly and yelling and partying at 2 in the morning and the hotel staff said nothing 🙄 the maid service consisted of a guy that couldn't speak English banging on our door anytime of the day or entering our room the second we left but only emptied the trash no clean sheets or towels and had to beg for toilet paper. Upon moving I noticed some of my jewelry was missing and my jewelry box is broken 😕 overall avoid this place there are many other hotels in the area that are much better

Rooms aren't to bad my tub was soft on the bottom and staff is ok. The breakfast sucks only bagels toast and cereal. Juice and coffee is poor. But there are some methed up things going on here.

One issue…… they put my room right in a section where people live in the rooms. There was a car with no tags parked in a space in front of my room filled full of someone’s belongings. I was never able to park in front of my room due to the same vehicles never moving all weekend. I have no problem with anyone struggling to find a place to live and doing what they need to do to survive until they can do better. But perhaps the hotel management should consider letting them stay in an area of the hotel that would be for “living” and not visiting…… other than that it was an ok place to sleep for a couple hours before heading out for the day’s activities…..

We stayed here before and booked a room for this trip. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. If we are going to New Jersey again we will book again. We did not pay for breakfast so I cannot rate that.

Decent hotel for the money, no serious complaints but also nothing stood out as great during our stay. Kind of “meh”. 😂

Taped notes were on several of the exterior doors. My room(which was non smoking) smelled like a smoking room. There was no bar lock, just the turn lock. Very bare and basic items.

We did not like the price hike for the room which coincided with the local university graduation.

The property is an old school motor lodge which allows the guest to park outside the room door. This is handy for motorcyclists or guests with lots of heavy bags. We did not like the price hike for the room which coincided with the local university graduation.

Not clean

Beds are way too high off the ground, toilets too low, sinks beat up, shower heads too low and full of dirt and rust from several decades of use. TVs that didn’t work and lost signal repeatedly, no access to the breakfast room with the key card because it’s been broken for an extended period of time per the staff. I would not recommend this place unless it’s a last resort and/or an emergency.

I asked about a bedbug policy; the manager did not show me a document; just explained that housekeeping would check. Overall room furniture was old.

Do NOT stay here!! I was terrified. There were folks loitering outside and watching as I checked in, they followed me inside lobby and began questioning why I was in town. (I'm suspecting they were homeless) Room had bugs, floor was sticky (gross), bath tub was dirty, furniture & fixtures were nasty. I immediately wanted to checkout, but all neighboring properties were sold out! I made it out alive and without incident. I'm not being dramatic - I was terrified!

If negative stars were an option, that’s what this motel would get. We slept in our winter coats because the heat was not on when we got there and did not decide to work until 6am the next morning. I’ve never been so uncomfortable.

Forget about security. My room’s door was so loose, you can take a spackle knife to open the door, and the deadbolt doesn’t line up to the jamb so was essentially useless, just as much as was the maintenance man was when I asked him to check it and he wouldn’t even look at it see if he could fix it. Housekeeping could have replaced the empty toilet paper with a new roll. The heating unit didn’t work.

Floor were not clean, below average stay, great location, it was advertised continental breakfast, but breakfast included stale bread, oily spread not even butter, nothing continental at all very disappointed!!

Pretty cheap motel as you can tell by the looks of the property. Rooms are in poor conditions. There is a minimal space for breakfast. Great if you’re a solo Traveller, need a place to crash overnight. I must say you’re getting what you paid for.

The desk staff was very nice. However, I would not stay here again. The room could have been cleaner as the bathtub looked as if a cigarette was rubbed out in it even though it was supposedly a non-smoking room. It was a little noisy as there were some residents hanging out outside of their rooms.

The mattress was fabulous

The room was spacious and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. There was an iron, a hair dryer, a microwave and a refrigerator for our convenience.

The room was dirty behind the beds; the bathroom needs some repair, and the ironing board was broken.

Beautiful and nostalgic Motel located just 1 mile from downtown Harisonburg VA. I ride my motorcycle all over the eastern half of our country and always prefer staying at a motel rather than a hotel. I'm a firm believer in the idea that our elders designed a much more functional society than modern developers. IOW they valued function over the sole purpose of profit. Motels are far more functional than hotels for travelers. I was completely satisfied with my stay.

The location was close to the things we wanted to do. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The value was good. Although it was clean and the value was good. There were several things that could have been better. The flooring was peeling in many spots in the room, the floor was soft to step on in several spots. The tempnofvthe water on the shower was fantastic however the water pressure was horrible, the shower head was extremely loose and would not stay in position so had to basically stand against the wall at that end of the shower to be in the water. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was because of the breakfast they I listed that was included and the pool they had listed as parts of their amenities only to find out these were not available, they'll had listed make your own waffles, was not there and they're was no pool at all. These were clearly posted on their website and should be removed altogether bc they simply are not there. This is false advertising and bc of this I would probably not choose this location again in the future.

The property seemed more like a motel. The furniture was old and in need of repair. There was a broken office chair. The bed mattress was more firm than i would like it. The staff did provide clean towels and linens and kept the room tidy. For the price i paid, it wasnt bad. I wasnt too happy about the noise next door to my room. People playing music all night. The hotel could use a little remodeling and a paint job. The greatest advantage is location. This hotel is located in walking distance to stores and restaurants. Didnt trust the wifi because the security was weak.

Staff was rude and demanded me to leave even before 11am, expecting that I would not have the money for the next day. This should never happen. They even called my friend and told her "if you want to renew, you should do so prior to 11!." They tried to lecture her about paying ahead of time. The lack of professionalism and human decency was shocking.

STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!! The room was not clean, it smelled really bad and after only a moment of being in the room, my children began to complain of seeing bugs run around. My husband was met with one of our children screaming that a bug was on him, we took a closer look and it was a cockroach. My husband decided to move things around and look and sure enough, the hotel is INFESTED in roaches! When I attempted to talk to the woman up front running the place, she claimed that she could not give me a refund because their manager was on leave for the week. She then proceeded to attempt to force me to settle with “another room” to which I refused. I will NEVER take myself or my family back to this place nor would I ever recommend it to anyone.

I am especially frustrated that, given these circumstances, I was unable to receive a refund. Transparency is essential when families are making travel arrangements, and I feel this situation was handled poorly. Based on this experience, I am very hesitant to use your services again in the future.

First we asked for a non smoking but we’re given a smoking room. It reeked of smoke & alcohol. The tv would non stop glitch. The bathroom door did not close correctly. The bathroom floor also kept sinking in. After using a whole can fabreeze our clothes still reeked of the smoke smell. The safety lock on the door was removed. The A/C unit only works as on & off. It has an option to set at a certain temp but will continue to run. The bottom shower would keep running even though the top shower head was on. The bedding was stained as well.

Was supposed to be a good price Sold as smoking room, kept my $100 deposit and never returned it, heater started smoking and had to change rooms, foreigners working there mentally abusive, not the kind I would want next to my families

Twas cheap and convenient. A cheaper hotel like this can come with its character patrons, but all is well and everything felt safe at all times. My friend and I stood outside until late evening and received nothing but smiles from any of the humans re encountered. Honestly, I can't think of anything that I didn't like. My expectations were met.

Price was remarkably affordable. The room was quiet. A prior visit, there was some noise, but that subsided due to the location, and a dog barking two rooms away, but that subsided after a while for my prior visit. This visit was far beyond expectations. Quiet. Accessible to parking and unloading to the room. The staff person on duty was clear and very understandable on check-in on November 18 in the afternoon. I commend her. There was no carpet in the room, and that is actually better. No issues this visit.

Wednesday was terrible the room was not cleaned or trash taken so I went to the lobby and asked why they didn’t clean it the guy looked at the sheet and told me that they did Wich was not true and I just walked into my room and seen it a mess so anyway I ask the front seat people for new wash cloths and towels and ig they thought I was lying so the guy called me a idiot Wich set me off I let him have it for a good 10 minutes or more until he finally apologized then gave me the towels will not be staying here again when they actually come clean the rooms it smells like a stinky Indian if u stay at this Hell hole I recommend you bring some air freshener

I loved staying here. The night person was amazingly kind and made me feel very welcomed. The location is perfect. Anything you want to eat its all there. Parking was right at my room , made loading and unloading easy. It was clean , quiet, and warm and welcoming. I would give more stars if I could.

Parking would be my only complaint. We had to park down and on the other side of our room. All the parking was taking in front of our area. With being a single level hotel, you should be able to park closer to your room. But I would stay again.

The front desk lady was very pleasant when I checked in. The room was dated but clean! The only parking directly outside my room was handicapped so it was a little inconvenient. The bed was clean and comfortable, the pillows were great and the shower had great water pressure. I didn’t see the breakfast room, I hit the road early so no comment on that. Due to live-in residents it was a little noisy but the room heater/air conditioner fan covered up the noise. Would definitely stay there again.

"You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig!" A new paint job cannot transform shoddy renovations including poor quality pergo floors. Excellent security lock on a door that should have been replaced; door lacked sealing from outside air with light streaming through cracks. The excessive use of chemical cleaners left an almost intolerable odor to the room requiring an airing for four hours just to make staying the room barely tolerable.

This hotel is an older hotel/motel that they have worked hard to remove the smell of smoke from years ago, but it also is in need of a thorough renovation to upgrade many surfaces, paint, flooring, etc. It met my needs for the stay and cost, but was only adequate.

Not what was expected from photos. Arrived at night and seemed to be sketchy scene. When checking in, front desk had barriers on it.

I had a family emergency and had to cancel my reservation and wasn't granted a refund.

Front desk staff was very friendly, maid service was good. Room was in much need of updating. Smoke detector was off the wall with just wires exposed, light at bathroom sink did not work and the fridge did not keep anything cold. Mold was in many areas of the bathroom. It was cheap and easy to get to but not a comfortable stay.

Look, it's a budget motel. I stay when ever I am passing through. Nice area, just off highway, food nearby. I am alway gone before breakfast so have no idea about that. Clean, bed is comfortable, TV large with adequate channels but nothing special, has always been quiet for me. Coffee in room so I can shower, brew and go in the morning. Bright outddoor lighting for your car but blockout blinds keeps the room dark. Nothing fancy.

The room was very clean and comfortable except for the shower, it was cramped and small. I'm 5ft 4in and it made me feel like a giant, I had to duck under the shower head to fit.

I paid what I had to for Family Weekend at JMU, but this hotel was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Cigarette burns in the comforter, shower head broken, stained towels, ironing board cover filthy, funky smell. The only good things were the mattresses were ok and the coffee was good. I would never stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights during family weekend and was shocked at the cost — $375 a night for what felt like a basic motel stay. Nothing about the rooms, service, or amenities justified that kind of price. Overpriced and underwhelming. Definitely would not return or recommend.

Great location, beds are comfortable. But the place was dirty and smells like cigarettes, all of our clothes and blankets smelled like cigarettes when we brought them home. 4 police officers showed up banging in someone's door while my son and I were sleeping. Definitely not good for families, we didn't even think about trying the breakfast.Because of how dirty the room was. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, and i'm pretty easy to please.

Stayed for 2 nights. Both times someone started banging around 9:30pm all the way to 7am. I made a complaint about it the both nights. Couldn’t sleep. The bedding was dirty, had cigarette burn holes throughout the blankets. The flooring had cigarette burns in it. You could see outside from the door. The toilet seat needed to be replaced and you could see where the toilet was broke. They had us in room 123. We ended up leaving around midnight the second night after complaining and nothing getting done about noise. The pool was closed. Breakfast was just some bagels bread two types of cereal, plain yogurt never in my life had I had to leave a hotel around midnight we did not feel safe so when we left the hotel the first morning, we packed our stuff up and took it with us when we return to the hotel after our events. Things just got worse when we noticed toothpaste stain on the bedsheet that they just placed there with more cigarette burn holes and then the noise has started again around nine 930 at night made multiple complaints and was told that they’ll deal with it in the morning. I’m there to sleep not be kept up all night. I will never again stay at this place or recommend it to anybody.

Reserved non smoking room they gave us a smoking room and we immediately went back to front office to get moved. It was late we were tired. This should not happen. My first room #331 had the smell of cigarettes and the lock was broken. The chair had cigarette burn marks on it. The second room (#109) was a little better. I was woken at 2 in the morning from a loud commotion. A person was yelling very loud and punched thru the window of room #104. Cops everywhere.

Holes in the bathroom door and paint was off on every side of the wall where it had been patched up...TV is very small...Strong Odor in smoking rooms...

Stayed here before, but must be under new management. Walking into the room it smelt like smoke, and after getting settled, realized that the safety lock handle was hanging off the door. Was only a one night stay, but definitely won’t be staying again.

I asked for a king non-smoking room which they said I did have except everything in that room stank of stale cigarettes The bed the pillows they wouldn't move me because I'd already used the facilities they kept ringing the phone which didn't work to see if everything was okay this is the third time I've stayed there the third time I've had issues I won't be using them again

Very comfortable and conveniently located. The water pressure could be better, and the showerhead is low, but other than that, it was a comfortable stay. The pool was closed, but that wasn’t the end of the world.

Cheap hotel that gets the job done with lots of quality to be found, definitely much more bang for your buck than an expensive hotel.

Smoke smell in non smoking room

Door to unit was broken. We couldn't get in initially because plastic on the bottom of door had come off and jammed the door. Breakfast was decent. They had cereal, bagels, yogurt and apples. Pool was closed down.

Don’t walk barefoot in the rooms because your feet will become very dirty. Also don’t touch the top of the bed headboard unless you like sticky dust. Also the bathroom door was so dirty. I had Clorox wipes with me so I scrubbed the door clean. Also the room had a weird smell so bring air fresheners. I would definitely come back. The price we paid wasn’t bad.

For the price this motel is exactly what we were looking for. It was cheap. The room was clean and the a/c was cold. Door locks worked. Area seemed safe and well lit. The breakfast was mostly bread however there were many good breakfast options nearby. I recommend Mr. J’s bagels. The staff were very friendly.

It was awful. I wasn’t allowed to cancel bc I booked it in hotels dot com according to the check in guy. I slept with a baseball bat my first night. I was so afraid. I got in late and didn’t realize how bad it was until the next day but I knew it wasn’t great. Very sketchy people in the parking lot the night I arrived. I paid for my 2nd night and then left literally in tears bc it was so awful. Between the door that had been clearly busted in and the barely attached hotel latch (door lock) and the police cars patrolling the parking lot and the guys running away when the cops pulled in, I left. I was able to find a room at another much nicer hotel. I hated that I had to pay for 2 hotel rooms but I would rather do that than not make it to check out the next morning. The door was barely attached, huge gaps around it. The lock was not secured to the door frame. The room itself was very dirty. There were stains on the sheets and towels. The tub / shower bar had been ripped out of the wall. The toilet was disgusting. There was so much dust covering everything. The floor was disgusting.

There was a significant gap between the door and the frame. The hotel latch had clearly been forced off the frame and reattached with tiny screws. I did not feel safe at all last night by myself. The sheets were stained. The towels were stained. The toilet was so tiny it belongs in a daycare bathroom. The shower bar was ripped off the shower wall - good thing the tub was so dingy that it wasn’t slippery and I didn’t need to use it. The shower head was so low that I had to duck to use it- I’m only 5’4”. When I woke up there was a layer of dust covering by everything! It was worth it to pay the cancellation fee for the 2nd night (the room rate) and go somewhere else.

Not a place to stay for families. We needed to get off the road to rest returning from vacation and I booked online. Online pictures were not accurate, the facility was not safe and very dirty. It was late at night so our options were limited but overall just avoid if you are traveling alone or with children.

One night stay rooms small and outdated

Bedsheets we're dirty, towels stained, after reporting the dirty sheets housekeeping didn't change them out. Also no facial tissue even after day two.

Sketchy hotel....if you dont mind staying where their local homeless stay. Also drug activity and use in the area. Goes to show you get what you pay for. Certainly not suitable for families and elderly. Young and middle age stay at your own risk.

Arrived and didn't have room I booked so had to settle for a different room. Had to keep getting key programmed to open the room door. Had just had a drug bust on the property. The parking lot was trashed and the staff was rude.

Pictures of lodging is misleading. Doesn’t meet the expectations set by pictures. “Breakfast” was just some bread and coffee.
