Good enough to stay in but definitely not a top tier lodging option.

Air conditioning excellent, parking lot did not feel secure, several used boats for sale, men smoking at door, men gathered outside at back building, noises during night, did not feel safe.

Overall would only stay here if it was last resort to the car in the gas station parking lot, or on a fishing trip with the guys. Wife slept in her sweat pants on top of the bed linens with her travel blanket and hoodie.

Our initial room had lots of hair in the sheets on one of the beds. We replaced them, to find a bedbug hitching a ride. Lots of other bugs around the window, in the shower. We let the front desk know, and were immediately given another room. In this room the sheets were cleaner, and the bathroom wasn’t a disgrace. We did find food in the fridge that had been left there. No breakfast provided, so know that going in but they do serve free coffee and an open package of Chips Ahoy you can dig into. The structure of the building looks cool, cool staircase, but it is aging.

Beds were uncomfortable , all the lights were unplugged from the wall and the highlight no toilet paper in the room at all and the tissue box was empty .

First off, I live here locally and I didn’t want to stay here but with the poor weather and my work requiring me to come in I decided to stay where I thought I could get out easily. Let’s start with I made the reservation online and didn’t see an area to ask for a handicap accessible room because I know they have a few rooms upstairs. When my husband went to go check in he asked if there was a handicap room accessible and he was immediately cut off and told we should have selected that online. Instead of just saying our room was already on a ground level. Now let’s get to the room. Because it was going to be down to 16 degrees when we got off he turned on the heat and then went to work so the room would be warm when we returned. We got back to the room at around 10 pm when we got off work and heard a loud noise coming from our room and it was the heater. We walk in and it was colder inside than outside. We tried to mess with it for awhile and still nothing. We tried calling the hotel and there was no answer. Luckily we brought our own blankets because there was none on the bed just 2 flat sheets on each bed and something that looked like a table cloth on the end. Not only that but as someone who came from a big city and has seen some ghetto places this is the most ghetto motel I’ve ever seen. There was no smoke detector. Only one plug that had the lamp plugged into it so we had to chose lights or charging our phones. There was a plug in the bathroom but overnight it literally

Had bed bug bites. Floor hasn't been cleaned in months. Property is well past 'run down.' Another room behind me was playing video games (loud explosions) until 4:30 am. Hot water took five minutes to come on, had to call Expedia to figure that out. Heater was broken. No blankets. Owner needs to actually take care of this business and make these rooms livable.

No fitted sheet on mattress, just a flat queen sheet. Was sleeping on mattress by morning, No coffee machine. Just two towels for two guest for two night stay. Security lock on door was hanging off by one screw. Slight smell in room. Moved out after one night. Beware.

My dog didn't even want to enter the room. I returned the keys and requested a refund, which i was given after asking multiple times. I later discovered that 10 minutes after I left, they charged me for the room again. I am now having to dispute the charge with my bank. I sucked it up and drove to Roanoke. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Room was clean ..new TV..furniture maybe a bit dated but in decent shape..there was an old mattress and some furniture by the outside stairs. Odd thing was no trash can in the room! Service was great though and friendly! Close to restaurants. Be aware its a 2 story building and there is no elevator!

Room we booked was not what we got! Not enough towels, the bed appeared to be dirty and the sheet was torn we had to request that the bed be looked at by management and that it be changed of which they did! Only 3 pillows for one bed and an ancient microwave the control was a dial tiny.

People are living in this hotel full time, they guy was listening loud music until 11:30 and and his alarm went on 5 times at 6am. We could hear every step from other room.

The employee at the front desk was very nice and hospitable . Its close to the lake and good restaurants . So for the price it was a bit unkept as expected just could use a bit more fixing up and cleaning . Other than that cheap motel close to great fishing .

The dead bolt couldn't lock and I refused to stay in a room where I couldn't lock the door. He said it would be safe because I had the only key and setting the swing gaurd would secure it. He also said that that was how dead bolts worked, that you could open them from the inside without turning the dead bolt to unlock. He moved me to a king room and went to get a key programmed for me, then returned saying the room had been booked that morning and they would be checking in later yhat afternoon. Three rooms after that with two more dead bolts that wouldn't lock I was given a queen room that would actually lock. No apology was given for not having the room I actually booked.

This property was very conveniently located and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was greeted using my first name every morning and evening. I was house hunting in the area and they would check on my progress. I felt safe it was quiet and pleasant.

I’ve stayed here twice renting 3 rooms each time. Last year 2024 no ac in the one room. This year spring 2025 two rooms no hot water. And check in was very confusing this time. Needs some major TLC. Are next trip we’ve already found another place for are stay.

No coffee in the room. No toiletries. And, in the case of my room, a light switch in the bathroom vanity area that had to be toggled just right to come on and a smoke alarm that began beeping every 45 seconds or so. Staff eventually (after two requests) came to the room and removed the battery. But it began beeping again the following morning.

the staff is extremely welcoming, if you need anything you only have to ask, they are happy to accommodate. the property is a handful of minutes from the lake and is located right next to anything convenient you may need.

Very Freindly and accommodating, room was clean and no loud noises during our stay. This is not a 5 star hotel with all the amenities but they treatt my wife and I great.

Old motel that needs more upgrades. Heating/AC not working properly. No on site management to resolve issues. Housekeeping staff overworked, not able to get all rooms cleaned daily.

This was a good, basic motel. I liked that you could drive right up to the door. The staff was very friendly and check it was very quick. You can see that they are updating as they go, but the room was very clean. I would stay there again if I was passing through the area.

We felt very welcome and protected. It's an older motel with remodeled rooms. They had free coffee and snacks each morning in the lobby. We were provided with plenty towels and even some fancy lavender hand soap for the bathroom. The guys running the Inn were super nice! If we ever come back to SML, this is where we will stay! If you're looking for a cheap rate, this is the place! Thank you to Lake Inn for making our little vacay so special ✌️💖🌞

I go to SML to visit my mom. Lake is close and accomodating, they are doing a good job refurbing the Inn. All I need is Basic and this is fine. see you soon.

This place gets so many bad reviews, well let me tell you, we stayed there 2 nights with our 120 pound dog, they had a bed for him as well as us. The Bathroom was way bigger than expected,the room was very clean. I will definitely stay here again.

Overall, the people are friendly and trying to do a good job. It worked for one night.

The room we settled on was much better in the end. I would recommend the cleaning staff do a better job at dusting the blinds, vacuuming the dead flies out of the window sills, dusting the cobwebs from the ceilings and walls, etc. my husband looked under the bed at one point because we were missing a kids shoe and he said it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned under there ever……. Overall, we only stayed there at night times to have a place to put our heads while we visited my parents. For $90 a night, I’d stay there again. It was quite, had hot running water for a shower, shower was clean, air conditioning worked great, and staff was friendly.

This place is a great stay and very affordable. Clean basic rooms, but the staff was so nice. Its close to the lake and right down the road from groceries and fast food. Walking in the front door you see a big classic stair case.

Lake Inn is located very conveniently in Moneta. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and as described. The lobby was very welcoming with snacks and coffee for travelers. We'll definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

The hotel rooms are very dirty and floor trim is missing, uneven paint in rooms, stained toilet seats. We didnt even complete our two night stay. Pictures were already submitted via chat.

Hotel was adequate but no breakfast and minimally staffed. Rooms were OK but somewhat run down. No cups or tissues in room. Faucet for the sink area was very loose. It took about 5 minutes for the hot water to reach the shower/sink faucets. But the room was pretty quiet overall.

Check-in: waited 10 minutes for someone to show up at the desk. Once checked in, the desk person had to go to our room first to make sure it was "OK". The room was OK, but had a dirty bathroom sink and coffee grounds on the floor. Coffee maker, but no coffee to make. No cups, no glasses. 1 face cloth for 2 people. Beds and pillows uncomfortable. Left after our 1st night. Happy to say that Hotels.com got our 2nd night cancelled with a refund.

It looked like the place was built, probably in the 40s or 50s. And maybe got updated in the 90s and it needs updating again. Everything about the hotel is old.
