    This property meets minimum standards for habitation. There is never not the smell of marijuana being smoked somewhere on the property. The appliances in my room did appear to be new and worked well. The bed was worn out, but the sheets were clean. The walls were scarred and needed to be repainted when I moved the television set for better viewing. There was an old children’s cookie underneath the stand, and although I didn’t see any rodents or roaches if this is going to be the standard of cleanings, they will soon be there.

    Staff members are amazing, could be more updated/ renovated. Still has a smell of smoke in the carpets and the trimming in showers need done as well as cabinets but Staff tries their hardest to make you as comfortable as possible. Thank you all :)

    Booked a stay for May 22-25th. Booked in hotels.com minimum check age is 18years of age. When I arrived front desk refused me a room and said minimum age for check in is 21 years of age. The website states minimum check in is 18 years of age. The hotel refuse to honor the room they sold me. It gets better they refuse to refund my money. This is absolutely a deciptive practice of the hotel to take advantage consumer under 21 years of age. Filling a complaint with Office of the Attorney General of Virginia for deceptive practices.Hotel responded on Google offered and apology, but still isnt offering to refund the money even though the check in policy is error is there fault. Spent over 4 hours between the hotel and hotels.com just to get no where.

    The room had a funky smell to the point I needed to go out and buy candles to make the room smell better enough to stay in. The building smelled pretty off and weird as well. The shower had little to no water pressure either. I wasn’t offered anything, refund or compensation when i mentioned it either. 1/5 stars.

    Stayed here to walk to the Master P concert at the coliseum. The perfect place for a very pleasant experience. The staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were clean! Who’s coming to the coliseum next? I’ll be back!

    This wasn't my best experience and i expected more from a Marriott hotel. The room was clean, the breakfast was suitable, but the door to come into the bldg where my room was located was broken so i had to keep walking around the whole bldg. The dryers in the laundry room didn't work so i had to hang my wet clothes around the room for them to dry and guest services were absolutely no help at all. I was unable to use the dishwasher, the toilet would get stuck and start running and parking was horrible after 8pm.

    I liked the fact that there was a kitchen I didn't like that there was barely any service for it to be an extended stay. I had to basically do everything myself. It was basically just an apartment. They didnt even provide the dishes in the room I had to keep going up and down to the lobby even for the towels. I had to buy cleaning products to clean. It was just a lot. They said they provide breakfast but no. Just muffins so I actually had to go get groceries to cook. I have epilepsy I thought that was true. It was just a lot. Not a place I want to stay again.

    The location was good. I didn't like that their was a trash room. Trash was not picked up daily so their was a trash room to put trash and the smell was unbearable. I did not like the fact that if I needed kitchenware, I had to go to the front desk and they would put some together while I waited. I did not like that their was no ice machine in the building. Their was no outlets or USB ports by the bed to plug in our phones for charging. The carpet was outdated and worn out in some places. My room was a non smoking room but had the smell of smoke. (The lady behind the desk did offer to give me another room but I chose to stay)

    Front desk staff was very helpful. They tried very hard to work around the ridiculous early check in fee and they went above and beyond to even recommend other hotels to try. This is not a hotel; it's subsidized housing. Very seedy element of people going in and out. I arrived at 6am and tried to get an early checkin, which I fully expected there to be a charge for, however, they tried to charge me $151 for early check in, when the nightly rate was only $86! That's a total scam and the 2nd reason I canceled my reservation and went elsewhere. The first reason was the seedy element of people.

    The cleanliness of my room and the friendly staff. Love Mrs Paula who was so sweet and pleasant! She even called to check on me after my check in. Never had that happen anywhere I’ve stayed. She’s awesome! Needs a little upgrading but it wasn’t too bad.

    The only 2 things I like about the property were the ladies Paula and I can’t remember the other lady name but she has locs, they were really nice and helpful especially Paula. Oh and the property is literally close to everything you can think of, I even walked to the coliseum which was the whole purpose for my stay. Oh my goodness the entire hotel, as soon as you walk in it stinks and looks dirty. The room was funky as well refrigerated was filthy on the outside, out of date I mean it just looks like a trap hotel if I’m being honest. I made sure I sanitized everything before I put anything down. Definitely false advertising, I want half of my money backkkkk, just know that if I ever go back to Hampton I will neverrrrr stay there again I don’t care if they say that it’s FREE!!! They even ran out of toilet paper smh I’m glad I always keep stuff in car. Oh and they also ran out of cups for their “grab and go bar” smh the hotel is just straight trash, I thought bc it was so close to the coliseum it would be like that but boy was I wrong smh I guess the hotels were so much bc of that exact reason but it’s definitely not worth it!

    The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The main issue was cleanliness. There was hair on the hand towel and counter in the bathroom. That just made everything else feel not so clean. Also, the deadbolt was not able to lock on the door.

    This is a terrible property, and it should not be listed with Expedia. It is dirty and run down. The carpets are absolutely filthy, countertops had holes and stains, and the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. Obviously would never return.

    Staff was very friendly. Regular police patrolling the area. Could use a little minor maintenance (chain lock on my door was broken). Water to entire facility was shut off one morning without warning for approx. 90 minutes starting about 9 am - would have been really annoying if I was in the shower.

    The positives: The location of this Extended Stay America is excellent, in proximity to the Hampton Coliseum area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The AC unit in the room worked great and was not very loud. The bed was comfortable. The negatives: The lobby was small, unappealing, and looked dirty. Walls and floors throughout the building were scarred, marked, and dirty. The elevator was dirty, noisy, and moved awkwardly. The air in our room was damp, the bedsheets felt damp. (Running the AC with the covers pulled back for a few hours fixed this.) Like the hallway carpets, the room carpet looked well worn and stained. The television was small. The bathroom was clean, but everything appeared outdated and overused. Overall, the stay made us cringe and say "Never again."

    The pic of room showed a full stove and oven, it didn't have one. We were given a room with a broken cooktop. We demanded another room in which we got, only to have someone try to enter our room at 1 am. The counter person claimed she accidentally given a key to our room to someone the later that morning said it was her doing room checks. So the second night I rented we barely slept and left 7 hours before check out. The areas around the facility is scetchy and you don't feel safe walking around. Not a good place to stay

    I had to drive completely around the entire building, at night, to find where the entrance to the Lobby was, and then there was no available parking near the entrance to check-in, so l had to drive around the corner of the building to park, which made me uneasy as there were three males hanging out in the parking lot. I was disappointed that there was some bits of something in the bathtub when l ran the water to pre-rinse it, but mire surprised when l saw blackhair floating up the drain. Also, the big kitchen had no plates, cutlery or coffee maker, but there was a sign in the kitchen stating that you could request them from the front desk. The people at the front desk were easily accessible both when l checked in and checked out. The room was quiet, and AC worked well and was quieter than most units at other hotels l’ve been in. The dressers were worn (chipped and stained in the drawers), but the beds were fine (a bit too firm to my liking) and the sitting chair was in good shape too. Closet was huge! It was well stocked with towels and bathroom supplies, but one towel had black flecks on it (it was sittingbon the bathroom counter). The carpets needed to be replaced both in the room and hallways as they were worn and stained. Overall, I think in the future l will pay more to stay elsewhere.

    Hotel is non-smoking but stairwells had cigarette butts in them and the hallways smelled like smoke. We stayed here so we could bring our dog with us and the hotel is definitely dog friendly but we would not stay here again.

    I don't usually do not review hotel stays but I'm making an exception here because of our unique experience. This was the single worst/weirdest check-in I've ever had in my life. The front desk clerk seemed like he was on drugs with his bizarre behavior. Our check-in was delayed by about ½ hour because the clerk couldn't remember his password to log into the IT system. He also locked himself out of the office when he forgot his passkey. Other than that, the room was clean but the contents were poor condition. Example, the microwave/frig were rusted out. The smoke detector was covered with plastic to disable it’s function. Not recommended.

    My rags had yellow stains on them when they were suppose to be white, the tv audio kept going out so I had to keep turning the tv off to hear the sound again, the drawers weren’t up to date they look very old even the insides of it looked old, the staff and service was the only thing that satisfied me.

    My car was taken out parking lot during my stay. Hampton police or hotel wasn’t any help no one could give me any info. The bed was like a sink hole. Bedding stained. Found used condom beside bed. I left out room in morning due to car stolen and had someone get my belongings. Items were missing because they went in room before we actually checked out. For this hotel to be in Coliseum Central and in this condition is ludacris. I had three men trying to get in my door at 2:30 am. Fire alarm hanging out ceiling. Old hair over toilet, bathtub. Last guests garbage was still in garbage can. This is not a safe location beware.

    When this place first opened, it was great. I decided to stay here since the major chains were filled; however, I remember this as a reasonable, clean, decently appointed hotel. First, I checked in and they wanted to scan the ID's of all residents. I have never had this experience at the Marriott, Hilton, IHG, etc. This alerted me that they have a problem with security. Next, I went around to the side entrance since this was closer to my room and found that the key hardly worked...when it finally did I couldn't hold the door open for more than a few minutes to get bring in my luggage. Lastly, the room was very dated. They had not renovated their appliances or furnishings. The wood was chipped on the dresser...the bathroom had cigarette burns all over. The boiler or hot water supply is severely limited, and I had to move to a new room to get hot water. The place seemed more like an adult halfway house than a hotel.

    I stayed here because ot the price. "You get what you pay for!" is such a true statement. The elevator didn't work. The front desk person treated me like I was bothering her at check-in. Only one of the staff members greeted me upon my arrival, and departure. There was a constant scent of marijuana by the front entrance. Lastly, my room key didn't work after being "exchanged" twice. Smh. I'll pass up on this place during my next visit to Virginia.

    The hotel is rather old and rundown. The room had a moldy desk chair and the furniture looked very old and abused. The room was a cheap price and you get what you pay for. Also, my kids were grossed out by the drain in the tub, it was all corroded, as well as the bathroom sink. The staff were very friendly and helpful however. We never got the grab and go breakfast. And the elevator was broken, they said for weeks, and we were on the third floor.

Rooms that reeked of cigarettes (despite multiple signs thru out the building saying it’s a smoke free environment). Antique appliances that barely function (if your room even has any). Just an overall gross experience. I figured because I needed a room for one night as I was in town for a concert, how bad could it be. VERY BAD!!! I considered sleeping in my car to avoid the smell. Staff was friendly and accommodating though. That’s all I got. Please just head to the Holiday Inn down the street or sleep in your car in an empty parking lot. It’s not worth the money they charge. Or any money for that matter.

    STAY AWAY!!!! I’d rather have an “extended stay” at Guantanamo Bay. Avoid this place at all costs!!! Broken elevator.     Most standard Kitchen dishes and utensils were not available during our stay and that is one of the reasons for choosing an extended stay property. The hotel apologized but did not solve the issue.

    I was a single women traveling and I was a little sketched out by the random people and activity around the property. The room was very basic to the point where it felt cold. Not cozy at all. Not the cleanest place either.

    The state is amazing they are the best part of this extremely scary smelly and out dated place! The smell is so bad and I was honestly scared to touch anything I spent the night there only left very early came back very late because it was so bad I didn’t wanna be there long.
