Our AC leaked. One of the lights was out in our room. Not enough staff for proper customer service.

It was well past check in time but rooms weren't clean. We got back from beach on our 2nd day... no clean towels or room cleaned. We called front at 4:30 pm and they said towels were in the wash. I felt bad for the cleaning crew because it was obvious they were short staffed and exhausted. No garbage can in room... just bathroom. Definitely was not a good look for the Marriott brand.

The aesthetic of the front entrance and lobby was beautiful. The young man who greeted us had great customer service and was helpful. When we first arrived to the hotel, we were issued keys to our room that did not work and we had to go downstairs to get another set when the young man had to bring us up to our room to let us in. On our way up to the room there were bugs throughout the hallways. When we got to our room, the cleanliness was subpar and there were a couple of bugs in our bath tub. The sheets on our bed had horrible staining (I have photos) and there was a shortage of towels throughout our stay at the hotel that we ended up having to go to Walmart to purchase our own. I have never this experience at a Marriott as a member and was very displeased.

First day and half the second floor smelled like a hot dumpster. The first floor at elevator 5 had a lingering smell of feces. There were missing condiments. And the shower head was so soft it took forever to rinse my hair and I’m close to bald. Also 15 min after I check in someone was trying to enter my room. Apparently they were issued the same room. I stay at a lot of Marriotts on east coast and Midwest. This is by far the worst managed and maintained Courtyard I have ever been to. I will not stay there again.

Loud party in room next to me. I called front desk twice and security came but party continued until 1am. Front desk night staff was rude and tried telling me that there was no party. Don’t gaslight me when I’m literally experiencing it. Party location. Old facility. Breakfast is not free despite website making me think it was.

Great location!

Very helpful staff. We booked via hotels.com and there was a glitch in the system. Fortunately, they allowed my husband to check-in with the reservation. The room was large and gave beds for my husband, our son and his friend. It was also very close to the tournament location.

The hotel, room and bar was great! Denise at the front desk was exceptional! The male manager however was very rude and off putting! But as far as the hotel goes, I definitely recommend!

On a positive note, the reception staff was amazing! Art and the older lady that wore a mask are the glue that holds that place together! The cook in the kitchen, I see you and you are doing a wonderful job. The food was amazing. The guy doing the cleaning in the lobby. You take pride in your work and it shows.

The bathroom wasn’t clean, the floors were dirty. The bed wasn’t comfortable. It was very loud all night. The area of town doesn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I arrived at the country yard late. I called ahead of time, to make sure that they had my reservation. When I got there, they gave me a room that I did not pay for I paid for a room with a bed and a pull out sofa for my son. They give me a room with no pull out bed. When I went downstairs to tell them about the room, the staff told me they had no more rooms left and it was nothing he can do. Me, my husband and my son had to sleep in one bed, which was unacceptable. I should have gotten what I paid for. I will never stay at Country yard marriott again in Hampton Virginia again.

Some of the staff aren't kid friendly we were there for a Basketball Tournament and they were a little rude to the kids. Not Kid Friendly

From desk staff was just nasty, I believe her name was Denise? I can’t be 100% sure, but from the moment we said hello, just nasty and full of attitude. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend just based off of her

The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, with a good level of cleanliness throughout. Check-in and check-out were both seamless, and the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay—ideal for a short visit.

Then tell me I paid 450$ for one night rather than the 2 nights I booked for. THEN INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM THEY TOLD ME TO FIGURE IT OUT. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told there was Noone else to talk to. This took an hour for them to realize the problem was on their end. making me miss my event I paid almost a grand total to attend. They didnt even attempt to explain or apologize. Theres mold in the showers the door to the room has a 1 inch gap where the outside hallway can see in through the bottom of the door. The bed is so uncomfortable. The room didnt even have a microwave. You can hear everything This hotel ruined my stay as a bonvoy member I am deeply disappointed and will never be returning.

Did not use the bar, office area or anything else, just the bed, but the staff was “Top notch” and friendly, good stay…

There was a bit of noise during our stay. On the floor above, on our floor, it was weird because i didnt see too many other people. Other than that, the hotel is clean and modern and staff is kind.

Our room was at the end of the hallway near a cleaning supply room and all I heard was continuous banging. The only perk was the check in clerk. I'm sure of her name; however, she was very pleasant. Room amenities. Went to the desk multiple times to get the key to work the back door and it never did. Bistro understaff and under supplied. Paid allot for oatmeal with nothing in it and dry pockets. Ridiculous

Room and bathroom were clean. Recieved a free water at check in. Pillows were small and too fluffy so it did make it difficult for me to get comfy but the bed was just fine so i recommend bring your own pillows.

When I checked in the sheets had not been changed , they had urine yellow stains on them , phone didn't work , moved to another room and no towel service tht day , bad not made up , til the nxt day , and towels replaced . Was not a pleasant stay for wht I paid , and the staff seemed so unconcerned, offered a free breakfast for a room with urine stained sheets .

The phone was non-operational. Wires hung from the fixtures around and under the desk area. The finger pull on the bathroom pocket door was painted shut, making it difficult to pull the door out of its pocket. The accessibility of the shower/tub was misrepresented when booking (a walk-in shower was assured by a direct call to the hotel, pictured in the online tour, but did not exist). There were no grab bars adjacent to the toilet.

This hotel is starting to show its age. It needs repairs. They need supplies also. Can’t make items on their menu. The people couldn’t be nicer.

The bed was the best thing about this location as well as the Bistro located on site. The shower was nice! The room wasn’t cleaned well, the rooms are older and need to be renovated, the LG tv keeps losing signal, the location isn’t the best, the front desk personnel took so long checking us in. He kept saying it was due to a third party booking app but he was in training something I could tell due to his coworker looking over his shoulder and assisting him. And the keyboard keys were maybe too small for his fingers, because he had to keep back-spacing due to pressing too many incorrect keys at one time. The sink faucet took a really long time to warm up and it wasn’t really user friendly. Just wasn’t what I was expecting for a Courtyard Marriot.

The staff at check in were really kind and accommodating. We called for extra towels and they took so long that we ended up just going to find someone to get some.

The property overall was clean. Staff was very friendly, convenient location, the room was clean. The only real disappointment was the pool was closed and the outdoor seating area wasn’t maintained well.

The hotel was nice and clean. The 2 ladies who were working at 630 in the morning were rude. I reserved my room for 3 people. My husband went down to the front desk, to get a towel and wash cloth for my daughter, and the front desk staff said it is standard to only have 2 sets of washcloths and towels and asked why he need another. He explained the room was reserved for 3 guests. She told the other team member to go get a washcloth. When she came back she only had a washcloth no towel. He asked her about towel. She proceeded to be rude, obnoxious and obligatory. Please train your staff with the proper training skills, so they can give the customers, professional satisfaction and support,communication and customer service skills

We like to stay at Marriott properties because they're always nice. But this one needs some TLC. It appears to have been recently redecorated, but it needs to be renovated. The building, both inside and out, is showing it's age - lots of wear and tear.

On the day I was to check out. I had to walk to the front desk. Get the cart myself and walk back to the entrance near my room. That part is unacceptable. There was only one trash can that was in the bathroom. I will not be returning to the Court Yard again. Also I think instead of the B stro there should be some place for Continental breakfast. I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past and have NEVER had any issues like I did this time. The TV didnt work. The TV picture wouldn't come on. They changed my room and it looked like the shower floor had a bug and wasn't clean. So it was just very disappointing.

I enjoyed our stay. My only concern was that the accent light underneath the tv in the bedroom stayed on all night. No switches worked to cut it off. It was a bright LED light.

I liked the proximity to the area I was visiting but there was a few issues with there being broken glass on the balcony and didn’t feel it was real kid friendly. But all in all it was a good stay.

My family was given inadequate accommodations. When I attempted to address the issue with hotel staff regarding what I paid for as opposed to what I received: I was told there were "no rooms available; that I would have to make due; and EXPEDIA dropped the ball!" I found the answer lacking in accountability since the reservations were made a week in advance

The room was clean, however the bathroom was in need of some renovations which should include a vent. Floors were sticky. There was a bad storm before we left and the fire sirens went off while we were asleep. It was good to know they worked in the event there was actual fire.

Lady at the desk at checkout was obviously tired and frustrated with the fire alarm situation but also gave zero fox about customer service and offered zero compensation for the terrible conditions. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.

The other room was not so good, TV did not work for 2 days. No bed change. Housekeeping did not change sheets and did not give us clean wash clothes and towels. We had to contact housekeeping each day to obtain clean towels.I am member and I was very disappointed.

Customer service was excellent, rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only issues we had was the sliding glass door on the balcony was very hard to open and close. Also, the one night we came back, the elevator was out of order, which was fine for myself, but my elderly mother had to climb the steps up to our room and back down in the morning.

We encountered two concerns during our stay - the elevator and adjacent side entryway constantly smelled of marijuana, and the breakfast service at the lobby cafe was very slow.

Decent property in a convenient location for several of the surrounding venues. The room was clean and the service was good.

When we first arrived the hallways were lined with bags of trash. However, they were later removed. The cabinet door was leaning down and the stopper in the sink was broken off. They knew we had three people staying and they gave us one adult towel and one mini towel. I must say the bed was comfortable.

Rooms were dirty. no garbage cans or garbage bags. We ordered a roll in shower and a sofa bed and we got just a regular king bed. made for unsafe conditions for our family.

Terrible stay. Was fine the first couple hours but after that it was this knocking noise that wouldn’t stop and I reported it to the auditor and they heard it and said there’s nothing she can do. Called next day like she told me to and the manager refused to talk to me and told customer support I didn’t check out until almost 1 o clock which is a lie since checkout is 11 smh and I told them to check the cameras of the time I told them when I left. Manager did not help now taking it up with corporate.

I had a very good stay for the most part. The only thing that I had an issue with is that I had no hot water at the sink for whatever reason. Staff were great and very welcoming.

I like the parking. I don't like that the bed isn't comfortable and no pillow. I did reserved for 3 people. When I went asked them for pillow. They said they don't have it.

Nice for a brief stay, traveling for work. The facility needs an upgrade (bathrooms) but the staff were lovely, and my bed was so comfortable, a really good stay.

Close to the venue that we were attending

Check in was amazing. It was quick and painless. Although we were loaded down and struggling with all our things and getting kids settled the lady was so patient with us.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

For some reason the a/c & heater stopped working at night but came on in the morning. Nice property.

Worn property with no amenities- paper thin ceilings- very poor value for prices they charge- would not considering staying there again- now questioning Marriott standards?

Overall my stay went well.

The Marriott Courtyard provided a beautiful and welcoming space for many of us who were in town for Hampton University's homecoming. The hotel staff met our needs so well and were able to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we felt at home.

However, we had a roach in our room and the room furniture was very dingy with spots and stains. I definitely did not feel comfortable sitting on the sofa so used it to hold suitcase. There was no coffee table in front of the sofa. Also the room did not have a full length mirror. Literally had to stand on tables to see the other half of my outfit. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to others.

TV didnt work in the room and the gym. Ice machines didnt work on multiple floors. Access reader to gym didnt work. Bistro food was good. The staff was great considering some of the issue .Room was clean. Everything was 5 to 15mins away. Would stay again.. just need to make sure my tv works

We did have to wait several minutes for our room to be ready, but we were compensated by additional Marriott points and free breakfast. Customer service was fantastic!

I never write reviews, but I hope to save someone from experiencing this awful hotel. First, the receptionists acted bothered by the fact they had to check hotel guests in, or acknowledge anyone at all. The room was not cleaned, there was hair and dirt all over the floors/bathroom. There was no hot water in the shower. Ice machines were broken. The walls were paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the hotel. I have no idea how this hotel is rated 3 stars because I wouldn’t even give it 1.

We got to do an early check in around 1 which I loved, I called beforehand! Check in was easy and front desk associate told me how to navigate to my room. Also loved the greeting as soon as you walk in, I believe from the manager. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

The staff was great but the hotel is moldy we were on the first floor and the first room we had was like a musty damp basement mold on the ac units and the room stunk. We quickly were given another room this room was better but mold on the walls and in the ac unit it was like sleeping in a tent everything was wet and damp really just a very uncomfortable stay for the price of the hotel. Showers wernt sealed so the water ran onto the floor soaking the bathroom which didnt help how damp and wet the room already was. Again not the staffs fault they were all very nice and accommodating who ever owns this location it needs something i wouldnt suggest staying here due to the mold and wetness of the rooms

I chose this hotel because of favorable experiences with previous stays here. Very polite and welcoming staff, Convenient to shops, eating, interstate and beaches. Highly recommend

This hotel could use some upgrades or cleaning services. The bathroom and sleeping area walls were cracking and the molding in the walls was cracked.

There is a laundry list of issues with this hotel. It smells. Theres poor ventilation. There moisture throughout the hotel. The elevators are dirty and floor is cheap and damaged. Damage throughout the building. Poor quality renovation and maintenance. Couldnt close my bathroom door, not enough clearance between toilet and door. Roaches in hall. Stairs damaged. Pairs of stairs discarded in the stairwell. Floors sticky from moisture in room. Shower has mold and erosion. Shower floor damaged. Shower door came off track and almost fell on me. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Entry door keypad finicky. Will never stay here again and would not recommend.

Denise was so welcoming and friendly. She made me feel like I was home. She made sure I had everything I needed and made sure my accommodations were to my liking. That meant so much to me after driving 5 hours. Denise made the difference in my stay and I hope she gets recognized. I will definitely be back!

Was a wonderful and safe hotel in the middle of a very busy area

It was okay. I think the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. There was a lot of hair in the shower and towels.

It smelled damp. showed signs of rust in bathroom.

The staff at check-in appeared to have an attitude. I checked in around 6 pm.

They tried to update the property by replacing carpeting with hard wood floors but don't mop them. My white socks were black and there was hair everywhere. The furniture was old and dirty, it needs to washed. The room smelled old and mildew. No breakfast or restaurant on the premises. I don't recommend this hotel.

This place is close to a lot of stores and restaurants, and also close to the facility where our tournamnet was held.

Hotel, as a whole, seemed run down. Would not have stayed here had the pictures shown what things really looked like, especially not for the price I paid!

Nice property. Convenient area near highway and major shopping is in walking distance. Clean room. Very quiet when we were there during the week.

The room had a major smell where i could not eat my food. I slept with my clothes on l, showered with socks on . At the end of my stay the ceiling collapse. Unbelievable. This ruin my vacation plan because i was t difficult to get another hotel because of the Holiday.
