It’s a beautiful property with a very clean beach The hospitality wasn’t up to the mark. We didn’t get proper instructions about the location of our rooms and struggled to find staff members to provide guidance. My elderly parents had to walk a mile due to the ill management.

Beautiful oceanfront location with large grounds, walking paths, hiking trails, and charming buildings. The room was comfortable, with a balcony, separate bath and shower, motorized curtains, and a good coffee machine. The main value of the hotel is clearly the view. Check-in took 1 hour 15 minutes, with a barely moving line. Staff told me this happens regularly. Wi-Fi was very unreliable, both in the room and around the property, which was a real problem because mobile reception was also poor. Restaurant service was extremely slow: I waited almost an hour for breakfast while the restaurant was nearly empty. The restaurant is expensive, and the hotel is remote, so Uber may not arrive and transport can be difficult.

Love the touch fr Mother’s Day to leave a box of fresh Macarons in my room. Enjoyed indoor Olympic pool and they have a good list of complimentary classes . Expensive but worth it ! All good

Wonderful stay. Everything - from the room to the amenities to the food to the golfing to the scenery to the staff - was amazing. My boyfriend also got a wonderful dessert each day of our stay for his birthday. Highly recommend! We will be back soon.

The property and rooms were beautiful. The room service menu was very limited especially because all the dining options were luxury. There didn't feel like there was a casual restaurant or coffee shop on site unless I missed it. I also would have expected someone to help us with our lugguge upon arrival-a true bell hop-but the arrival was just OK. It would be great if they offered a golf cart for guests who are down in the rooms by the tennis courts. Otherwise, stunning property.

Great views (as long as you stay within the hotel grounds), nice room and a very good dinner. The location looks appealing, but walking options are very limited — you constantly encounter “golfers only” and “private property” signs. For a ~$1200/night stay, the additional $70 parking fee feels unreasonable. “Breakfast included” is actually an $85 credit, which is not enough for a proper breakfast. Service is inconsistent: during turndown, personal items were handled unnecessarily while dirty glasses were left behind; at breakfast, the wrong item was served and staff insisted it was correct; the welcome drink experience feels oddly handled and below expectations. Starting from 6 AM, noise from technical equipment makes it impossible to sleep.

Everything was wonderful, except the cleaning. Staff moved my toiletries around and lost my supply of disposable contact lenses. I was lucky that I had one set in my toiletry bag from previous trips. I think they were trying to organize my stuff on the counter and they ended up throwing away my contact lenses. they really should not be touching my things.

They told us that there is no space in the restaurant for breakfast despite the fact that we booked bed & breakfast in advance. Can you imagine for paying for breakfast in advance and then they tall you that there is no table for you! Location is great but the experience was poor. It was too crowded and the staff was sloppy.

Not worth the price! Nice location, but there are several nice hotels with as good a view for a quarter the price. Nothing special about this place. Over priced food and average service at restaurants was disappointing. Went for Anniversary, paid $1600 for the night, and not even a card in the room. Won’t go back! Do not recommend.

Didn’t have breakfast Our water in the room from the bath faucet to the tub water smelt like swamp water or reused water. I told the front desk when we checked out. We also had a lovely lunch in the restaurant. Our martinis were $36 each which was a shock and we had 2 each. Total 4. It was a huge bill for lunch.

Half Moon Bay is extraordinary and I will return but the hotel is stuck in the year 2000

This left us without a functioning shower throughout our stay, which was a significant inconvenience. Our expectations for The Ritz-Carlton were high, given its reputation for exceptional service and luxurious accommodations. However, the failure to address a basic amenity like the shower system in a timely manner was a disappointment. We hope that the hotel will investigate this matter thoroughly and take measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Our commitment to providing our VIP customers with exceptional experiences is of utmost importance, and we trust that The Ritz-Carlton will take the necessary actions to restore our confidence in their establishment.

I paid in full when I book it, but they still charge me a full stay, they said that they need keep money for a week for safety for 7 days then money back to my credit card. But it does not after 7 days. I called they said keep waiting, 10 days after I called again, they give me an email address to report problem. I emailed, they back to me said they will check, then no answer for 2 days. I called Hotel.com customer service for help, after Hotel.com talk with the hotel they give me money back very fast. But without hotel.com help I do not think they will do anything

It was an ok hotel, average level, the service is not good. The Ocean Terrace stops service at 5.30pm, the food and service at Navio is not good for the price. Through the ocean view window, you can see half of another building. The coffee maker is very noisy. i will not go back

Went for a short overnight. Had dinner at The Conservatory where the food was wonderful and Krystal our server was amazing. Spa treatment in the morning by Sean who gave a wonderful massage… then golf in the afternoon. Beautiful property, wonderful service and unparalleled golf.

This is a true 5 stars hotel and the best bang for the buck I have ever seen in California. The rooms are amazing, the service is amazing. The scenery is simply unique. Having lunch outdoors with ocean view is spectacular and very relaxing. Perfect for getaways and overall tranquillity. Super highly recommended!

Every single aspect of our stay was phenomenal. From Atticus at the carport, to Lara at Navia who graced us with the PDR experience, Benny and Marcus at our dining, Sophia at the Conservatory and everyone else who made our stay so special. We didn’t just stay at a hotel, we made memory that will stay with us forever.

What a disappointing experience. This used to be such a special place and the property is so beautiful but the service was really terrible. Based on the front desk and concierge service, you wouldn't have known we were at a Ritz Carlton, you would have thought we were at a Motel. There were too many negative experiences to write up here but my husband was so underwhelmed and frustrated that he said he doesn't ever want to go back.

The food options at the hotel were horrible and expensive. It's a pet friendly hotel, but not allowed pet to eat anywhere. We did takeouts for every meal every day. The staff didn't know what exactly is allowed and what's not. A horrible experience and full of rude people around.

Our room (not suite) was small and the beds are small. For the room price, the beds and linens should at least be improved. Love the bathroom and the firepit outside our room and the view was amazing. The pool needs to be improved. I did love the service and the staff for their hardwork and dedication. Property is clean although beware of flying holf balls. Food was amazing.

The view is beautiful by the hotel trail. The hotel is clean. The bed is firm and comfy. We booked the golf view one bedroom. They gave us a single room when we check-in. Went down to the front desk to fix the mistake, and it took us 30 mins to wait for a one bedroom instead. However, it was not a golf view one bedroom when we entered the 2nd room. The room was a courtyard view one bedroom which was not the price we paid for. We did not bother to switch to the golf view room again. We wanted to go for a walk instead of spending time to deal with the front desk to ruin our vacation time and mood. Very regret that we did not ask for the golf view at the 2nd time, because there was a consistent ventilation sound throughout the whole night in room 448. My son can not sleep at all. This is not the 5 star hotel should be from our past experience. Can not believe the mistakes of wrong size and wrong view room assignments with a noisy ventilation system in the 5 star hotel such as Ritz.

This hotel is hands down the best hotel we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It is so clean, amazing service, friendly, beautiful, accommodating and just simply breathtaking views. It is worth every penny you will spend staying here. The simple small touches in the rooms, the free wine for my husbands birthday and the food is exquisite. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this experience!

The Ritz-Carlton is our go-to hotel whenever we visit Half Moon Bay. We travel as a family and have stayed in a good number of hotels and the Ritz at HMB is at the top for luxury, comfort, service, nature, and activities for children.

One of the best experience in hotels. Fantastic view outside, perfect room condition and great food. The staffs are super kind and helpful. It was a short family getaway before the school just began, and everyone was happy. Definitely we will go back sometime.

Beautiful location. However, this is definitely a weekend destination- we came during the week when not a lot was going on - no outdoor service, for example. No outdoor pool, which I guess is because it’s pretty cold, windy, and foggy there all the time? There was an indoor pool at the adjacent country club that we had access to, but it was just a lap pool, and again, no service there. Wonderful place for relaxation and luxury though! Dress warmly and sit by the fire pits to watch the ocean and the golfers.

We loved the hotel. Room was large, comfy snd well appointed. The only thing we would change would be the toilet. You should put in tall toilets. The restaurant was excellent - great good and awesome view.

This property is in a beautiful and quiet location. If your looking to relax away from the city this is your destination. It’s very expensive though so we would probably not stay there again.

So the food in the restaurant was good.. but the in room dinning food was very subpar! I was disappointed especially for the cost of the rooms. Gym was closed. Kinda not a good experience.

We did not care for the lack of a glass or cup to drink from in the bathroom, only one outlet that worked for our electronic devices, no extra blanket or throw so it was either swelter under the huge down comforter, or be cold with just a sheet on at night. We did not love the limited choices to eat on site (two, one only until 7:30 pm).

We had a delightful stay! Our room overlooked the ocean and was what we expected. We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday. We arrived around 7 pm and we were surprised to be told the outside terrace closed at 7:30 pm. We were the last ones to put in an order for food at the bar and enjoyed our dinner by a fire pit with the sounds of the ocean in the background. We appreciated the cleanliness and everyone adhering to wearing masks. Our breakfast in the room the next morning was delicious and our customer service throughout our stay was excellent.

Great location, was very busy for the weekend. There were 3 weddings so we couldn’t check in early. Upon checkout valet was really busy.

I requested to be assigned a guest room in the Guest House, which us separate from the main hotel...when i arrived to check in i was told that the only guest house room available had a fire pit on SED to knowthe patio which was raise my rate by $100...NOT good customer service...front desk isr about 6-8 times in the past.. NOT the Ritz Carlton we U an entirely different issues....Anytime i check in here, its alwayz a lenthy priss..dont think id stat again afte

The only thing I can mention. I wish there was a concierge to direct customers toward things to do. Especially with Covid, having someone know what’s open, where’s a winery, book this tour etc would have been very helpful. But overall a wonderful place to stay.
