The front desk staff and manager were professional and listened to our concerns When we got there we were informed that the pool and the hot tub we're under renovation. This was very disappointing as this was one of the main reasons we wanted to stay at this property. In addition, we stayed in the lodge. The rooms were disappointingly small. Even when we moved to a bigger room with two beds, there was only one lamp in the entire room and a light in the bathroom was flickering. The rooms were antiquated and unreasonably small for the price.

Unfortunately this past stay, the indoor pool, hot tubs, no Wi-Fi, no fireplace (was given a discount) were not available due to maintenance. The resort lost power from 9 pm to 11 something. This happened while making dinner. Food was ruined, had to go to bed and woke up sick.

The property is very nestled away and in a private location. The lodge is old and quaint. The rooms are small and have Country furniture. It is a peaceful setting, and the ambience is very calming. The restaurant had very good food, especially breakfast. The coffee station was a nice touch to have downstairs. Horseback riding on the trail was absolutely beautiful. Room service was based on request. We liked this because people weren’t coming in and out of the room. The staff was very pleasant at the lodge. Our bed was creaky and a little uncomfortable. No matter how we tried to sleep it kept sagging in the middle. So I would like to have a more comfortable bed if I come back.

That the general store was card only or charge to the room because it's cash free. Not everyone likes to pay with a card all the time or keeps funds like that on a card. I like to carry cash. The restaurant inside the hotel gas terrible food. Everything was disgusting no flavor whatsoever and very overpriced. Will never eat at that restaurant again.

The Lake is cool! The premises are beautiful. The negative was the hard sell to be a Member though we were not let in until 20 minutes after 4 pm. We also were not warned about a amenities fee when we only used the lake with our own kayak. I guess not conducive for a quick stay while in the area, and more of a resort destination. Also, the cleaning person inadvertently came in after 4:30 pm once we had already gone into the room. That was a little unnerving. No harm, no foul. Just a little awkward or a 'high end' resort imo.

The checkin process was a disaster as they insisted I owed another $97. to my prepaid reservation. I totally agreed with the resort fee (although some resort amenities were not open/available). They later claimed Hotels.com had not sent payment for my reservation and I said that was their problem, not mine!! Double check your bill!

Upon arrival I was charged an additional $160 on top of an advertised price of $189 which was unexpected. We chose this location based on the pools and amenities for families, the indoor pool was under construction, and the outdoor pools and activities were closed due to heat lighting. The neighboring room was very noisy until 1am, so not the best stay like we were hoping.

Nice quiet cabin, for the price should come with golf cart to get around. All activities are pricey. But the place is beautiful and peaceful.

Did not like the fact that they will not service room. You must take used towels to front desk in order to get clean ones. You have to leave your trash in the hallway. For the cost of the room they should provide better service.

It's an amazing place to stay when you don't want to have to travel far for most of your vacation. The furthest we traveled was 15 minutes for a BBQ restaurant, which was worth it! Pools and facility is kept clean!

It was a great couple of days. My 2 kiddos enjoyed horse riding and the pool! The cabin was clean, stocked, and cold. PERFECT GETAWAY!

This was one of the most beautiful properties i have stayed at. There is so much to do especially for families. Loved the equestrian center and the arts and crafts. Pools were great. Arcade was cool. Food and drinks wonderful. General store had everything you need. Will definitely be back!

Many good things to say, but our room was dark and very small. No room for desk or chair, so no where to sit except on very high bed. I'll come back, but when I do I'll bring a powerful rechargeable lamp for the room, and two fold up chairs.

I’ve been staying here off and on for the last 4 weeks and it’s by far the best place to stay in the area. It’s easily accessible, close to Louisa, Gordonsville, and Zion’s Crossroads, and it has a restaurant on site that is very good. I will continue to use this as my temporary “home away from home” hotel as I am in the area on business.

The cabins are lovely. But there are not numerous trails on the property as advertised. It is very remote. There is nothing anywhere near it, so in the winter there is little to do. I also didn’t like a 10:00 a.m checkout, when they ask you to assist in the housekeeping.

Only thing that has opportunity for improvement is just upgrade room air conditioners (in the hotel rooms), and put microwaves in rooms, as well as fold out suitcase stands. All else is good. I would definitely stay again if invited or opportunity was open.

This is our second stay here. The first time we stayed in a cabin, this time in the lodge. I definitely recommend the cabins for privacy, quiet, and a kitchen. The lodge is more like a hotel stay, it was fine but we had a problem with noisy neighbors. The kids love the multiple pools, horses, mini golf etc.

This property is perfect for a family getaway; I do mean getaway as it is in a secluded out of the way location. Lots of activities…pools, tennis, basketball, mini golf, horseback riding, catch and release fishing, and a bit more. My only complaint was cabin was not as described and some activities are pricey.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the lodge and could see the horse pasture from our room. The room we stayed in was quite small/tight but very comfortable and nicely appointed. We were disappointed that the bar/restaurant in the lodge is still not open. So in lieu of that, we ventured out to a local convenience store to buy a bottle of wine and brought it back to the lodge to enjoy on their back porch. We had breakfast at the General Store on our last day. It was delicious. The General Store is perfect and very close to the lodge. Overall, we are looking forward to coming back, maybe in the Fall, and staying in a cabin.

The resort is very large and the grounds are well kept. Our daughter loved the horses and the little petting zoo. The pools are nice and clean. The crowd on the weekdays was totally different from the weekends. We stayed 5 days. There was no maid service, the excuse was covid. The room was so humid that the towels never dried. We asked for maid service, but nobody came. We just ended up putting our gatbage and the wet towels in the hallway like everyone else and got towels from the reception desk or a maid's cart left unattended in the hallway. There is no restaurant at the resort. There is a convenience store with a snackbar that serves mediocre and overpriced sandwiches/burgers/pizza. It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, at the entrance of the resort. Some decent restaurants are 30-40 minutes away by car. We had brought plenty of snacks and drinks, but really missed a nice breakfast buffet or a dinner where we could have some wine, which we could not because one of us always had to drive home. All together the stay was okay, but this was the first time we were at a hotel that was so pretty but lacked basic hotel amenities like a maid and a restaurant. Covid is over. Don't use it as an excuse

It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, at the entrance of the resort. Some decent restaurants are 30-40 minutes away by car. We had brought plenty of snacks and drinks, but really missed a nice breakfast buffet or a dinner where we could have some wine, which we could not because one of us always had to drive home. All together the stay was okay, but this was the first time we were at a hotel that was so pretty but lacked basic hotel amenities like a maid and a restaurant. Covid is over. Don't use it as an excuse

Needs updates and more outside maintenance. Would haves liked better if they had the restaurant and bar open and the marina with kayaks and boats. Loved the area and cabins just needs some TLC.

A couple things I found displeasing was the third night, my daughter found make up and lipstick smudges in one of the pillow cases. The other was the restraunt and bar was closed during my stay.

Nice family friendly resort. We stayed here for a quick getaway. Our room was located in the main cabin/lodge. The room was a lot smaller than expected. Even worse the room had an unpleasant smell of mildew.

We stayed in the Lodge on an earlier trip, but wanted to try a cabin this time. We liked the cabin! The only problem is that the icemaker did not work. The staff wasn't able to immediately repair it, but left a large bag of ice in the freezer for us to use. This is an example of excellent service. Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay and the range of amenities was superb for a family with young kids - starting with the amazing equestrian center and wide range of pools miniature golf basketball kayaking etc etc. good balance between price and quality and overall a memorable and wonderful stay.

Was origionally check into a dirty room. No service to my room in thw main lodge for 3 days.

Everything was clean and very nice. The room was kinda small but big enough for us. It was a lot of activities in close to a lot of things in town. We will definitely stay here again and bring the kids

The lake and the pools were very nice. The bar and restaurant were closed and not any where did they tell us that it was closed. So if you wanted to eat or drink you had to leave the resort. That is the reason we booked the resort, if we had known it was closed we would have went to a different hotel.

No housekeeping, one set of towels for a 3 night stay No business center for printing needs. Was told to go to the nearest library. The biggest issue is this place is timeshare marketing operation. Nowhere is that mentioned. I didn’t spend $150/night to run into a unwanted sales pitch. It’s obvious that the focus of this operation is not the hotel but prioritizing the timeshare cabin properties. Travelocity should be more transparent about what this place is about. The place sucks.

The location was ideal for going to UVA. We loved the cabin & the amenities. The dining was not open for to COVID but was nice to have a General Store.

One of the best mattresses I’ve ever slept in. Lack of full services such as Tavern and restaurant. We had seen that on reviews so came prepared. Lovely setting. Nice soaps and shampoos. Only an overnight so unfortunately didn’t get full benefits of the setting. Lovely though. Lodge was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful property but beware of the relentless sales pitch. The place was clean and appealing at first sight but we quickly learned there was very little service, amenities, or open facilities for the NYCesque price. No dining available. If you need something, you’ll drive around to the campground area to find the “general store” Our room was never cleaned during our stay. Mini fridge and coffee maker were in the room, but we thought we’d grab coffee in the lobby on the way out, (coffee and water were the only things available) only to find a line of guests waiting to use a self-serve machine that no one seemed to be able to figure out. Our accessible room was too small with no assured clearance to turn around. and the mini fridge blocking the way. Part of the flooring was kicked up forcing the quarter-round on the baseboard to come loose, the door knob of the bathroom came off in my hand, and the pull down seat in the shower stall extended beyond the shower forcing the curtain to funnel water onto the already slippery bathroom floor. The bed was too tall for a person in a wheelchair to transfer. Thankfully I was not traveling alone. We chose to pay the exorbitant rate because it was convenient to visit friends who were staying in the campground. For this reason, it was worth the price, but we won’t do it again and certain wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Enjoyed our stay. Cabin was great. 10am checkout a little early. Would prefer 11. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved everything

We enjoyed the warm indoor pool and hot tub. We came during a rain and cold snap so we didn’t get to enjoy much outdoors. There is so much to do here. I hope to return this summer when it’s hot!

I liked the arcade and outside patios but it wasn't really nothing open no hot tub the fire pit by outside pool wasn't ready no restaurant on site like they said the tub looked terrible the room was small no movie theater like they said basically I went at wrong time no mini golf on site I wish had pick somewhere else for my bday no activities for me to do but horse ride

Great place to come to visit for relaxation and getting away from hustle and bustle of the city! Lots of outdoor activities: biking, horseback riding, mini golfing, fishing, kayaking, hiking and swimming. I stayed at the main lodge which was a small bedroom. It was suffice for one person and two nights! My next visit, I would love to stay at one of the cabins! The view is beautiful! I highly recommend this resort!
