Clean nice place to stay

Our AC was noisy when we turned it on; a maintenance man came and fixed it within minutes. There are signs saying "If you don't like your pillow, let us know and we'll give you another one" or something like that. Good breakfast. Nice pool & spa and nicely landscaped but be sure to request a room facing the pool area.

Anna greeted us immediately upon arrival. We were given swift directions and key to the room, being late she tried to find a restaurant for us. The room was very comfortable with an enjoyable balcony.

We stayed here while visiting family in the area for a few days. The staff was super friendly. Location was convenient and we felt it was in a safe area. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices (most hotel eggs are rubbery). We’ll stay here again when we return to the area.

Desk person sent me to the far side of the building to park and the whole back half of the lot was closed. The walk wasn’t too far but the issue annoyed me to be directed to go back there when the lot was closed off. I arrived very late and felt bad for making noise and multiple trips through the hallways. Also, couldn’t find a desk person to check out this morning. Another customer rang the bell multiple times and complained about not getting help.

We were looking for a place just to sleep in Gold Canyon, and this turned out surprisingly nice and to be a great value. The room was clean and spacious and we appreciated the lounge next door for a quick dinner. They have a pool (cool water) and weight room which we didn't use but they're there. Would stay again

The early check-in of $35 seemed a little steep. The front-desk person was so helpful and accommodating and let us do an early check-in for $25.

This place was in need of many improvements. Our room was dingy and dark. The bathroom fixture had three different colored lights; one white one off white and one that blinked on and off. The mattress was concave and should have been replaced long ago. The pillows, hard as a rock. For the price we paid, this hotel should have paid more attention to detail.

The room and overall experience were OK. But for $350 plus, we were expecting more than was there. The AC unit was of the type you'd expect in a $150 a night hotel. The lounge was nice for drinks, but there was limited food and we noticed that none of the locals were eating there. After having several drinks at the lounge, we asked for two wine glasses to take back to our room, but were refused those and provided only with plastic dixie cups. Again, not what one would expect from an experience at at $350+ a night hotel where we had a microwave, a refrigerator and had a suite.

We especially enjoyed the Rodeo bar there. The pizza was great!

The rooms were clean and the staff is fantastic. There’s not much around the hotel so I was at the Walgreens next door frequently to get snacks and other necessities. I stayed during a ren faire weekend so it got pretty noisy especially in the evenings and mornings.

Walls are THIN. You get to hear your neighbor, the hallway traffic, every door that gets shut. If you're unlucky to get a downstairs room, you get to count the steps of your upstairs neighbors AND their doors.

I’ve never stayed at a best western that has a wonderful locals cantina attached. Saturday night karaoke was the best! Wonderful bar tender, eclectic crowd and humans having fun. The beds were comfortable, the pillows were not. The showers need to be renovated. I did enjoy how the bedroom windows opened for fresh air.

Couldn’t get towels or washcloths out of washcloths so gave me hand towels stay was 5 days. Breakfast was good for 2 days other days was terrible rooms definitely need update shower hot water gets cold after 10 minutes. Other than that enjoyed Arizona.

Nice, Southwest-themed hotel and rooms. No special amenities, everything as you would expect for a Best Western. Hotel is older and so are the room furnishings and decor. Convenient location.

Chris at check-in was a delight to chat with and told us the story of how he ended up in Gold Canyon, AZ. He was also efficient and gave us a full instructions on this and that. Nice start to our one-night stay. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was fine for a warm night. Lots of pillow, some of which I put aside. We had to do an early start and the breakfast was just fine. Lovely fresh cantaloupe and grape clusters. If one used the bold setting on the coffee machine you got a very decent cup of coffee. Some hot sausage and some surprisingly nice warm biscuits. Also some hot scrambled eggs. We really enjoyed the hot tub which was actually hot. We had driven straight through from Santa Barbara and it relaxed out sore bodies. Nice pool towels on hand as well. The hotel/motel has been there a long while and there are some things that need renovation, such as poor lighting by the bed making it hard to read as the wattage of the bulbs is low and the lights could have been placed closer to the bed. Overhead lighting in the bathroom which makes one look like a ghoul, very harsh. But those are minor points. The room was clean and large and our stay was just fine.

All perfect night sleep and room cleaning are doing very well. One thing is the TV. It won't work. However, I have my own laptop to do on TV instead.

I had four breakfasts there. They rotated different sides to the scrambled eggs each day. Yogurt was served with fresh strawberries, melon and/or pineapple. Eggs were not kept as hot as I would have liked, but still good. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were place a little too high for height challenged people. They were located under the shower head, so one had to stand in the shower stream to get the soap and hair products. They should have been placed at the end opposite the shower head.

I’m assuming the manager, she was very rude, knocking on my door asking me if I was checking out it wasn’t even close to check out time.

We did not partake in breakfast. There is a restaraunt onsite of which we ate and drank both nights for dinner. Staff was super friendly. We hiked the Flatiron and specifically stayed at this location for reasons of hottub, pool, and food. We were not disappointed!

Breakfast was above average. Had a pretty good variety. Missing peanut butter and honey. Lighting in the bathroom was a little dim.

The lobby and room were okay, but quite dated. The breakfast was the worst I have ever seen. I skipped it entirely my second day. I can put up with a lot if there is at least decent coffee. There was not. It was a weird, hard to use dispenser containing Folger's, a very poor brand.

It was clean. It wasn’t old looking. The pillows were very uncomfortable. All the towels were dingy. The sheets were dingy. The pool was not very warm. The Jacuzzi was not very hot. The vending machines did not have a great selection and the breakfast sucks because of the fact that biscuits and gravy will work too much pepper too much way too much pepper. They didn’t have a very good selection of hot sauces And I don’t know. I just could’ve been better. I’ve seen best westerns that had a really great breakfast and I don’t have potatoes. This was very weird.

Best Western has a courteous staff with a well maintained spotless grounds and a spotless room. Each room had their very own deck or sitting area outside with a table and chairs for each room. There is a lounge on the premises with reasonable prices for food and drinks.

It was a typical best western experience. The bedding is terrible, a thin blanket, lumpy pillows, and when I got in the room, I almost walked out because they sprayed such a strong disinfectant in the room. It was almost like if they were spraying if there was a dog in it and it was a non-smoking room, but it gave me a massive headache for about four hours. My husband wouldn’t let me cancel and go find another hotel so I just hung in there. I kept the room door open to the back pool area so that helped until a bird flew in. Finally got the bird out and the smell seemed to dissipate. I wish they’d use something more organic smelling or natural essence. These strong disinfectant sprays are horrible. It’s too bad because the pictures look so cute. The lighting in there was pretty terrible as well. A shower cap might be a nice touch. It just was a low budget experience, but it was a low budget so you get what you pay for I’d rather pay double and get a better hotel room. And if you book from Expedia and want to change your room, just expect that they will charge you and that’s fine. I guess they have to make their money somewhere.

This was perfectly fine-very clean, safe & secure, great customer service and affordable/reasonably priced. It's a decent, mid-level hotel. This is not a fancy 5-star resort, it's pretty basic with a nice pool.

They were really rude about us getting breakfast to take to our room because it was 2 minutes after they closed. A lady and gentleman both yelled at my 10 year old. The lady tapped the sign and yelled that they were closed. They also charged 35 dollars for a late check out which is an hour. Overall for the price go somewhere else.

stayed here for a hiking trip. Had an average stay. Unfortunately, the room they put us on was literally right on the highway and very noisy! Tried to get it changed, but everything was booked. It was tolerable, but I wouldn’t have chosen the location! My room charges were not done correctly and had to call back when I got home, but it was easily fixed.

Nice motel, but room staff were not the best. We had to go to front desk to request towels and coffee, as well as getting the bed made. Breakfast was okay, but eggs were always cold.

Noisy. The walls are paper thin and I could literally hear the people next to me having a conversation. I was able to understand everything they said. This was at 5:30 am on a Saturday!!!! Way over priced. The second night I complained to the front desk about noise from the other side. When checking out i expressed disappointment with the noise and the response was next time ask for a room on second floor as they are quieter. Sad.

We stay at a lot of properties each year. You can tell from the minute you pull into the parking lot that the owners and staff take great pride in this location. Everything is clean, the landscaping is kept up, etc. From the fresh cut fruit in the mornings, to the friendly staff greeting you, there is just a great vibe to this property. We will be staying here again and again when visiting the area. Also, the adjoining bar is great, but better yet is the ice machine with attached water to fill your bottle before heading out for the day.

We have been unable to get a refund for the nights we did not stay at the hotel because there has not been a manager on site for the past ten days. I will not be booking through Expedia again, I recommend calling the hotel direct and booking just incase any problem may arise. It has been a hassle and was a stressful vacation. The hotel itself was clean and a great breakfast was available. I wish we would have been able to stay for our intended 6 nights.

Great hot tub

Loved the staff at checkin!

Best part about this place is the attached Rodeo Lounge! The room was excellent too, but having the attached bar is always a plus... and the flatbread pizza along with karaoke night was an absolute treat. Wonderful staff!

Very hot room and very noisy AC. Other than that, fine.

Made a 4 o’clock travel to airport and it was great.

On the plus side, there is a restaurant on the property that we enjoyed. Great service and cold draft beers. On the negative side, the room smelled a little stale, although clean and comfortable.

What I didn’t like is I googled for a BW near Apache Junction and I only saw the Gold Canyon one. Then I found out there is a BW right in Apache Junction. This needs to be resolved because it has been an unnecessary 15 minutes more of driving for us these last couple of days.

Front desk staff was extremely friendly and courteous! Hotel property was clean, if a little dated. Conveniently located to hiking trails, Lost Dutchman State Park, and Mesa airport.

The room was comfortable and quiet. I always like the Belgian waffles for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice breakfast offerings and was clean and well kept. Carpets were being cleaned while we were there and they indicated they are cleaned on a regular schedule which is nice.

Super friendly check in!

Property was ok for the age, no elevator. Booked and paid through Expedia and selected that my son and wife would be sharing the room. Got there and they see my son and said its an extra $10 for children.

Very clean

This hotel is a beautiful property. The rooms are very nice and clean. We had a balcony that overlooked the pool and the desert landscape made for a beautiful and serene spot to relax. We will definitely return

I went to them and told them there's a candy bars in the vending machine were old but I almost broke my tooth they put an out of order sign on it for one day and that was about it never changed the candy out so now the next person in there is going to have the same experiences me not impressed very old sheets very old looking they really need to do a lot of updates

First time staying here and was mine and my husband's 15 yr anniversary. The girl working all weekend Aug 30th was amazing and helpful. I had no worries or issues. Was super clean and quiet. And absolutely loved my own little patio to sit out on. I will absolutely come back again!

Our stay was great, I have no complaints except having to leave early. We’ll be back someday and will recommend this property.

I came in from hours of driving in the hot summer desert to a cool dim oasis at BW Gold Csnyon. I was treated kindly and gently by the staff. The time I spent hiding in my quiet peaceful room eased my jangled nerves and replenished me sufficiently that I could finish the full day necessary to return home.

Very impressed with the immaculate cleaniness of the facility. Excellent breakfast. Very courteous & helpful staff. Convenient location.

Love the friendliness & convenience of the area. Rodeo bar fun local spot, Walgreens next store, ordered Chinese from across the street.

Check in was terrible. I person in front of us and took 45 min to get keys. Then got to room and they were still cleaning so had to spend another 30 changing room. Front desk lady was horrible.

There is a fun little bar with some quick food, and a great crowd. The room was room and clean. We loved the balcony, it is a great place to sit in the cool of the evening.

Would have rated higher but I do not like the $35 early check in fee.

For the price vety outdated

All around great place to stay! Breakfast was a little different each day, plenty of fruit options, yogurt machine was a hit. Room was comfy, clean, and nice. Staff was friendly and took care of our needs.
