Comfort Suites Fredericksburg South

The suite was nice and neat. Breakfast was wonderful, filling on our way out for busy day. Staff was very friendly. The issue was it was stifling hot in room. Air conditioner wasn't working well. Maintenance came and did something to it but it didn't help. They gave us fans to use but still was very warm and humid. Hopefully, they get that fix before summer season starts. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.

We were on the 4th of 5 floors. The air conditioner was not working and it was over 80 degrees in our room. The staff said they did not have any other rooms and were unable to help us. There are no windows that could be opened. Our last stay at a Comfort Inn or Suites.

The pool was nice and warm

Smelled of mold and damp air. Clean on the surface . Cleaners did not wipe window sill. Had dead bugs and grime . Could not stay in room as when you breathed in it felt off. Could not open door to air out as chlorine e from the poolwas very strong. .We spoke to Jessica at front desk right away . She could not move our room as they had nothing available. She understood and would give a full refund . As we went through Expedia we are waiting on our refund.

Room was loud. AC vent noise makes the room unsleepable. The curtains sofa chair are all old stained and uncomfortable. TV remote didn’t work. Door has an opening on the bottom that lets in light and noise.

Proximity to I-95. Esthetic exterior and interior design. Large and beautiful suite. Swimming pool right next to suite. Water was comfortably warm. Good TV experience. Very good breakfast, good coffee, good scrambled eggs and excellent sausage patties. Pool on the small side.

Very well maintained! Clean, comfy, and quiet. My boys didn't gwt to swim because the pool closed at 9 and we didn't arrive until after 9.

I stayed here (rm 500) 3 years ago, so chose to stay again during a 5 day visit. My grandkids live in Fredericksburg; we're from Indiana. I'll start with the good. The evening desk person is super kind. Cassandra was also nice when my grandkids came to swim-thank you! The bed is super comfy and big. Overall, the room was clean. Pool is nice, but WAY TOO MUCH chlorine for kids. Decent breakfast spread, but coffee was muddy awful. Now to the negatives! I was DOUBLE CHARGED, $527! When I addressed it with the front desk, he was all ho hum about it. I had $552($25 incidental) being "held" on my checking account by Comfort Suites. I paid at check in. It should've been addressed and fixed spot on. They treated me like an idiot. I also asked again at check out. I am being reassured "it will fall off"... I didn't want a full clean or to have people in my room really. So I requested new towels and to get the trash, no new bags. Took the towels, no replacements. No toilet paper left. They did however take the sheet off the couch. Couch is dirty, so I put the flat over it. AND someone turned my ac completely off. So I didn't want anyone in my room, except inside front door- but they did all that! I came back from my day out and it's 79 degrees and humid as heck in there! Couch is still beat down like it was 3 yrs ago. TVs are so dim and old that I couldn't watch them. Sadly, I will never visit again and I suggest families don't either.

The room had visible mold, wet carpeting/water damage, and unsafe bathroom conditions immediately upon check-in. During our stay in the room, the shower curtain fixture failed causing a slip and fall. The conditions of the room made it uninhabitable. The issues were immediately reported to the front desk and another room was requested, but were told no other rooms were available. Because of the condition of the room, there was no choice but to leave the property and find accommodations elsewhere. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability afterward. Despite immediately reporting the issues and providing documentation/photos, the hotel declined to issue a refund for the unusable room. I cannot recommend this property to anyone until these issues are properly addressed.

I'm glad they had room to accommodate a large party. I didn't like that there was a large gap under the door to the room. Some of the lights didn't work. The coffee maker was broken. The phone to the front desk didn't work. I brought the coffee maker to the front desk to exchange for a new one, but the only other one available was also broken. The staff at the front desk seemed nice, so that's a plus. The facility itself was loud. You could definitely hear everything happening in other rooms. Not the most restful stay, but thankfully it was only needed for one night.

There was absolutely no air conditioning. Strange men were given key cards to our room at 1:30 in the morning. Manage won't respond. I had 4 kids and thankfully had the latch engaged so the door couldn't be opened. Extremely anxiety provoking and incredibly disappointed in the lack of response from the property manager

The hotel location is ideal for travelers. Right off of 95, there’s a huge plaza across the street with stores and restaurants. The continental breakfast was delicious with a lot of options. The staff was courteous. The room was not clean (hair in the shower), it was musty and there was obviously a moisture problem. There was some sort of fan/dehumidifier that ran all night behind a screwed in piece of Sheetrock. The bottom of the pool was slimy.

I was really disappointed with this stay. I specifically booked this hotel for the pool, only to find out it was closed with no notice. The hotel staff refused to offer any help, and Hotels.com customer service wasn’t helpful either. Breakfast was good, but that was the only real positive. The hotel seems to house a lot of construction workers and nothing against them but parking was taken over by large trucks and hard to find. Also, take the glowing reviews with a grain of salt - there were signs in the elevator offering rewards for leaving reviews. Overall, not worth it.

The air stopped working the first night we were there. We didnt realize until the next morning when i called about how to work the thermostat, because we thought we were doing something incorrectly. I made the second reservation as i was told by diane it was being worked on and be resolved soon.

Breakfast was very good and lots of choices. Clean area. The room was nice and had bathroom separate from bedroom. Also like the desk in the living room area. The only problem was getting clean linens often and extra toilet paper. Wish they had changed the bed linen more often. We had to ask a couple of times

When checking in we asked for a double queen. Went to the room and we only had a king. Went back to front desk, and they told me they didn’t have any rooms with two queens left. This was not ideal since there were three of us, so I had to sleep on the chair. Didn’t even get a few hours sleep because I was so uncomfortable. The door to our room was very difficult to close, making it feel like a fire hazard. No light bulb in the lamp which gave my husband a nice little shock. Front desk person said manager would try to do something to accommodate us, and that they’d be in by seven the next morning. Went to see manager in the morning and was told they wouldn’t be in until around ten. I explained I’d be leaving before then, and I was told they would have the manager call me after they got in. It’s been five days without any attempt to contact me. I’ve stayed here before, but will not return after this.

We were lucky to get a suite room and it was beautiful. A bed room and separate sitting room. Everyone should be so lucky! The breakfast was OK but not too special. A continental breakfast in Europe where I am from is really a super spread. This was just OK!

Staff lied about canceling a reservation. Stayed that the reservation could not be canceled which is not true the reservation could be canceled but with a one night's room and tax cancel fee. Agents should not lie to guests but explain policy

The night worked was troubled The door wasn’t working. The phone wasn’t working. The bathroom was dirty. She didn’t to try to accommodate us with another room due to the door. We couldn’t get in and out of the door when we leave out the door have to keep running up and downstairs have a bad knee just wasn’t right.

The room needs a total renovation. There were stains on the curtains, walls. Floors didn’t look clean—a dead roach in the bedroom corner along with other small debris. The twin mattress for the sofa bed was flat and looked very well used, with crumbs under the bed protector. The air conditioner was not working it was extremely hot. Mold growth in the shower caulk. Honestly not sure why there are any good reviews about this place. The true definition of you get what you pay for.

Staff was nice, inside lobby and outside was greatly kept up. Even the room was nice and big for the price. BUT it was quite dark, even with all the lights on. Not a problem normally, but I was staying for a whole week. It got kinda depressing after a few evenings basically living by candle light. I also would've given it a 4 or maybe even 5 stars if there wasn't a massive hole punched out of the wall where the air condition was coming out of, which made it louder than usual. The air condition never got below about 74 degrees, which sucks because sometimes I want it a bit cooler. Finally, on the last evening I was there, I put my stuff down on the night-stand next to my bed and a huge bug went running from under my book and into the drawer. And my room was on the 4th floor. Clearly a symptom of it being very dark in the room. ----- Honestly, if I hadn't noticed the bug next to my bed, my whole feelings about this place would be different. This hotel was convenient and had the best staff, great people. Always helpful and smiling, doing a great job. The owners just don't take good care of it. Maintenance and upkeep is sloppy. Our room was great with a living room and the bed was super comfy, I just wish they would do better at the upkeep. Only one elevator worked. We would stay there again for the convenience and as I mentioned, the staff was amazing.

The surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. The employees acknowledged me but were not overly friendly. The room was spacious and all was clean, however a more thorough vacuuming was needed. Breakfast was very basic standard fare, with strong, bitter coffee from Starbucks, if you like that sort. The price was fair, and I would stay here again as an overnight stopping point.

Upon arrival to the hotel, was told the air conditioning for the entire hotel was out. The staff said that a refund couldn’t be issued until Monday morning. Could not find another hotel in the area due to no vacancy. Wife is hours away from home, tired, and no place to stay. Ridiculous!

The stay was terrible due there ac units being broke. My home ac went out so I came to the hotel for comfort just be made aware that there unit was out as well. I wansnt informed until check in as it was too late to find another hotel.

It would’ve been nice to receive a phone call telling everyone the AC unit hasn’t been working for at least two days. The impression i received was they’re working on it as if it would be up and running immediately

Our room had water in front of the air conditioner. So much that when you walked through it it squished between your toes. The temperature in the room was 77 and would not go any lower. We told them in the morning and asked for it to be fixed but the next night was the same.

AC wasn’t working in many rooms. One phone didn’t work and the bathroom door lock was broken.

The rooms were filthy. The only good thing that came from this was the assistance of the night auditor Melissa. She was so helpful. I am disappointed with this hotel and will not be returning.

The pool was in a highly visible area. The breakfast was decent. But the gentleman who was keeping stuff fresh was seen cleaning. he was either wiping the tables after people had eaten or wiping the food counters. The rooms were large and laid out nicely. I would stay here again.

Checked in late after a long drive and front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Only real complaint is that the shower did not drain all that well but for a one night stay it wasn't that big of deal.

Everything was great except for the breakfast bar. It advertised waffles and fresh fruit and there were neither. The beds were very comfortable and have a door between the bedroom and sitting area was great.

The manager refused to come out and speak with me. He ran and hid when he realized I had an issue and the receptionists started telling me he was unavailable despite Expedia speaking to him on the phone. The funniest part is when I went to the next hotel Tru by Hilton in Thornburg, they had no issue taking my deposit. No issue getting me checked in.

Spacious room, excellent night-time customer service, good breakfast options. Dining staff courteous and kind. The shower in our room took a long time to heat up properly when we first arrived that night. It was not until the fourth person in our family was showering did it heat up properly. However, during the day the shower was fine. Also, when calling the front desk the following morning to request a late check-out, there was no answer after 2 or 3 calls. But, once I walked down to the front desk and spoke with someone in person, they were able to provide noon check-out for us. Overall, very good experience, very spacious rooms, clean dining area, great value for price, and was a much needed rest within our road trip.

Service is very good and fast! Just the rooms need a little bit of fixing, cause doors are hard to open, and bathroom doors had two little holes that anyone can see you through!😅 but everything elese is good

We came into town for the MCM half marathon in Fredericksburg. This hotel was close enough without paying astronomical prices. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

Why is consistent Wi-Fi availability a premium here? Don't get me wrong, the staff were polite, but not being able to provide a receipt for incidentals consumed is unacceptable. There are too many other options to return in the future.

Located within a suburban shopping complex the hotel afforded several restaurant options. The beds were comfortable and suite rooms large. Wood work showed a bit of wear. 2 TVs were fine. Hvac was a bit noisy.

The AC unit in the room was not working properly. It was very hot and we couldn't sleep. We requested another accommodation but it was not possible.

Mattress had blood on it

The only problem I had was I rented a accessible room which was great except for the bathtub. The bottom of bathtub was so slippery you could not stand on it. Thank goodness for handrails or I would have fallen. Please provide bath mat in these rooms, otherwise bathing is very dangerous. I ended up putting a towel in base of tub just to stand. Highly recommend this hotel it was clean, comfortable and in wonderful location. Mexican Restaurant and Cracker Barrel within walking distance. Second floor room overlooked pool and buffet good. We will be back.

The next morning, I requested more towel sets and was told I needed to bring two used sets downstairs before getting replacements. Only after explaining we had six people did they hand over the towels. That kind of policy is frustrating and unnecessary. We went down for breakfast around 9:45 AM — it ends at 10 — but the staff was already shutting everything down. My waffle was mid-cook when an employee unplugged the waffle maker without checking. It never finished. At the front desk, I got no apology — just corporate policy talk and a business card to follow up with the manager. They offered to plug it back in and get more batter, but it was too late. I mentioned I was traveling for my father’s funeral, but was told “your issue is personal to you.” No one showed real care the entire stay. This was unacceptable from start to finish. I won’t stay at this hotel or with Choice Hotels again.

Everything had stains... sheets, blankets, even the curtains. The night shift receptionist was lovely, but the morning crew left much to be desired. The person running the breakfast area looked like a patron until he got up from eating and went behind the scenes. There was uncooked bacon attached to the lod... we did not eat there unless it was a packaged item like a yogurt.

Front desk staff was friendly and that's the only good thing about the stay. The water took over 10 minutes to get hot, the AC in the room didn't work at first and the air filter was clogged and disgusting. After resetting the AC it finally started working. The bathroom has zero ventilation and there is rust on nearly everything metal. The sink and tub backed up when in use. There were stains on the duvet, bed skirt and curtains. Remote control was missing buttons. Not a pleasant place to stay.

Everything was good except the bed pillows were not bed pillows, they were more like throw pillows for a sofa, you really need a bed pillow to get a good night sleep.

The first room they placed is in was DIRTY. There ever public hair in the bathroom sink. There wasn’t any water pressure either in the bathroom. It was gross. The second room was better but still lacking.

There is one elevator, the elevator display showing what floor you’re on was not working and it’s extremely slow. The sofa center seat cushion was torn all along the side. The bathroom toilet seat was not tightened, slid around and was all wobbly. Seems like there is no attention to detail. How does the workers that clean the bathroom not know that the toilet seat it ready to fall off?

Everything was acceptable but a pushy and staff . Unknowingly we entered the pool 10 minutes before open. We didnt see the sign. We entered at 10am, the correct open time. That staff acosted us and berated us for entering without permission. I inforned us only he has the authority to remove the "pool closed" sign. Absolutely ridiculous. Power hungry . He refused to give me his name . He said he was going to write an extremely negative comment on my account .

I had a single night stay as a solo traveler. Check-in was awesome and the receptionist was fabulous. I was comfortable and felt safe, which is always very nice. The room was very pleasant and large and had everything I needed. I would absolutely recommend.

Looks promising at first until you get inside your room once you get in there everything is completely outdated carpet smells when you go in and pull the blankets back. We found food in our bedding as well as blood on our pillowcases and on our sheets. We also found things on the walls that we aren’t sure if it’s bodily fluids or what it was. We felt very uncomfortable With having a shower there so we did not shower. We waited until our next stop. Behind the door was the air exchange vents and inside was stuffed insulation dirt amongst other things. None of the fans worked. The pool was extremely noisy open to everybody as well as we watched a child throw up in it. It was just too much wish I could get my money back. It was absolutely horrendous very upset.
