Very clean and just a few steps away from everything. The guy at the desk was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed and had some good suggestions on where to go do some fun stuff. Will definitely be back.

A little old but very quaint! Great walking distance to all of the action in Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Free coffee and a biscuit in the morning and a limited amount of free parking spaces! We got ours and left the vehicle parked and walked!

The hotel itself is charming in a old Texas way. I actually liked the old school Texas country feel. The bed wasn’t bad and was clean. The walls could use a good scrubbing. The rooms are small but have everything you need. The location is great, super close to stockyards and shopping. Overall not a bad place to stay.

We're locals, and could easily stay there again. However, both of us agree that more than one night might be pushing it; 2 max (partly for the hotel, mostly because it's the stockyards). It's a block away from main street and at least one bar directly north, south, east and west of the property. If nothing else, the lack of amenities will force you out and into everything the stockyards has to offer (still haven't figured out what that is; it's just cows and cowboys, people). In fact, I have more negative comments about cattleman's and H3. I've had better steaks AND I didn't have to endure all the hokey kitsch. And a shout out to the guy at the front desk. Couldn't have been nicer or more hospitable.

Its good if you just need a bed. There was a jetted tub with no way to stop the water, the spout was disconnected and spewed water everywhere. Caulking was nasty and moldy. Window a/c that had a hole to outside and when mentioned to the front desk, they offered duct tape. They did offer a different room, so that was polite.

Amenities: Cable TV is one station in Spanish, on an old.Zenith tv that had buttons missing. The remote control didn't work, I had to stand on my toes to switch stations, and only found one. Night stand lamp, lightbulb was out. No toilet paper roll holder, paper roll was left on the floor, I put it on the back of the toilet bowl tank. Bed was at least 20 years old, but ample sheets and blankets. They offer 24 hr desk service, we.left.eary in the morning about 530 am, I rang the desk bell, no one came to the desk, so I had to.leave the key upfront. Doors are left unlocked all night long, anyone can come in at any time. It is however right square in the middle of all the stock yard venues, shopping, food, bars, and museums

Hotel is convenient to the Stockyard and is slightly less expensive than other nearby hotels. It is adequate and clean, but very basic: tiny rooms (about 12x12), no closet or hanging space, just a hard chair in the room to sit on, and it needs a lot of maintenance and repairs. The bed was comfortable, but the loud music from the bar next door went way into the night and made sleep difficult.

Female owner was rude from the beginning. Room was crowded with too much furniture and the arrangement of it. Toilet seat was broke and toilet wobbled. No toilet paper holder or tub which was advertised. Window had backwards curtain and no blinds. The street lights made the room look like day at night. Never got internet to work and when I tried to call the desk from the phone in the room, it had no dial tone. TV had one channel, MSNBC! NOPE! Cable was advertised. No fitted sheet on bed, just flat which you couldn’t keep on the mattress. Owner called my husband, “You people”. Will never stay here again. We’ve stayed in much nicer rooms for half the price. And we travel a LOT!

This place is a dump! I reserved a room and pre-paid, was non-refundable. It didn’t matter though, once we saw and smelled the place we left and found another hotel. I told the owner we were leaving and she was only concerned with making sure I knew I wouldn’t get me money back. She stated she could show me another room, but that they were all like that.

The only thing positive about this hotel was the location to the stockyards. When I checked in the front desk clerk was having troubles finding my reservations. Once she found out reservations she said she would have to put us upstairs because house keeping wouldn’t be there till the next day. No coffee service for individual rooms had to go to lobby and hope it was fresh and the complimentary breakfast was a Lil Debbie Honey Bun. Won’t book at this hotel again.

The hotel is conveniently located by the Ft Worth Stockyard area. The rooms were clean, but not very modern. I guess they are going for the old world cowboy charm. The big problem I have with this hotel is at night there is no one to man the desk and answer the phones. So if yo have a problem from 1 am to 7 am, there is no one to assist you. The hotel will not answer the phone or anything.

I had a good idea of what to expect. I'm a simple guy. I just need a clean simple room with a clean place to sleep and shower. But I still want all of the lights and TV remote to work and screws holding door knobs to be tight. For most other people though, this is an extremely basic hotel. On the plus side, and why it was good enough for me, the location is EXTREMELY convenient to the Stockyard bars and restaurants...what I was there for...

Never in my life have I experienced such a rude individual running a hotel. This woman is just plain angry at the world or something because you can’t say or ask her anything without her getting loud and confrontational.

This hotel is a quaint little place rooms are a little small and only has a shower in it no tub but overall it was a good place for my wife and I to stay the night close to the fort Worth stockyards and within walking distance to all the bars in the stockyards the hotel was almost like staying in a part of Texas history the building itself was old and rustic it was definitely worth the money to stay there and the perfect little getaway for someone on a budget

Manager is rude and unhelpful. Broken fans, no light bulbs or covers on some lights, no hot water one morning, bedspread was nasty, no shampoo in the showers, no continental breakfast as advertised. But it was very close to everything.

Cash only hotel. She will tell you the visa machine is broken..it's not. It miraculously fixed itself when she realized she wouldn't get paid otherwise. Continental breakfast consisted of a pre-packaged twinkie type thing from off the grocery store shelf. Their website offers cable tv...there was only 1 channel. Clerk said she would send someone to fix it but no one showed up. They offer daily housekeeping which we never got in the 2 days we were there. We chose a room on hotel.com that was an extra $10/day for a view of the bay...there is no view and no bay. The room was very small, but clean. Shower was so small that you couldn't bend over to wash your feet. The lady at the desk was rude and cranky. Get a room that does not face the street...walls are thin and you will be kept awake all night from the street noise. Bed was comfortable but very creeky...squeeked every time you rolled over...will disturb your sleep. Although the location is perfect, and the rate is sufficiently less than other hotels in the area, it is overpriced for what you get.

Upon arrival the staff didn't get off the phone to sign me in. The first room was a single bed so we had to swap to another room with the 2 beds that was ordered on the reservation. The upstairs hall way had a bad odor. The room had the same odor. Upon going to the bathroom the shade was messed up and the window behind it was broken. It is the kind of place you sleep with all your clothes on. Says breakfast is included but at 9am when I rang the bell to check out the woman working the desk who clearly lives in the first unit came out poked he head out and told us to go. It's cheap for where you are but worth it to pay a little extra or stay a little further away.

The room appeared nice on the internet, upon arrival there was no parking and had to park blocks away. The mattress was horrible, you could feel springs under the surface. There was no fitted sheet, just a flat sheet, and Hair visible on the sheet. There were things in the floor that were visible that would not have been had the room been clean. The outlets were so wore out the electric cords would not stay in the wall. There was no central air conditioning, just window units in the bedrooms, the rest of the “hotel” was hot, with no air. There are pvc pipe running down the front of the hotel as “ some sort of draining system” as well as in the ceiling of the shower that comes from the bathroom above. With that being said, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. I was embarrassed to find a family from Australia was also staying in the hotel, and this was their first experience in America, so disgusting.

Very hot, not very friendly service and what you see pictured of the hotel room is litteraly what you get. Very small especially the bathrooms. No parking anywhere which we weren't aware you had to pay to park and when we asked the lady in office she said "you have to look around and pay to park, bye!" And hung up. Told us room was ready for check in. We get there and are told one hour wait because it isn't ready.

We booked our room so we could stay up & drink & not have to drive. There were no rooms available when we arrived. I showed her my phone where I had the room booked through Expedia. She acknowledge the booking on my phone but offered us nothing. She did not apoligize or offer any solution. She said all rooms taken. While I called Expedia, my extremely drunk husband started driving. I got no where with Expedia except they took my # in case we got disconnected. We needed a room immediately. Expedia only wanted to contact the hotel we were booked in. After 15 minutes I gave up & my drunk husband drove for an hour to Decatur, TX. I pleaded with him to stop & he finally did. I told God I was prepared to die but to please take care of my children. I will not use Expedia or that Hotel again.

I would not recommend that my dog stay at this hotel. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with the utmost rudeness. The staff did not speak much English and appeared to be living in the hotel. We got tossed a key & told the room #. The room we were assigned had a huge hole where the 30 degree cold front was coming in the room through the duct tape area that was "holding in" the old window unit. Our tv didn't work either. When we voiced our complaints to the staff, we were told she would "come fix it later." With enough complaining, she finally came and attempted to fix the tv by turning the volume up and down. She also blamed the hole in the wall on the fact that "the drunks break everything." After that, we decided we didn't want to stay at such a low key hotel on our HONEYMOON. We were very disappointed to find out that by booking through Expedia, the reservation at that hotel was non refundable. We went back into the hotel & requested a different room. The room we were given was set on 50 degrees when we walked in & granted, it was about 32 degrees outside. How comfortable, right?! When we cranked it up to 75, it eventually warmed up after a couple of hours. For the remainder of our stay, we continued to have the worst customer service of our entire trip. Like i said, i wouldn't recommend that my dog stay here or even my worst enemy.

It is a cheap option. All the other hotels within walking distance to Billy Bob's were booked since it was a last minute trip.. I read the reviews and figured oh well it couldn't be too bad. The hotel itself is just old and simple. The main issue is it is located in an area with lots of noise! The noise outside did not stop until 4:45 in the morning.

Need a clean, quaint place to rest after a long night of hanging out in the Stockyards? I found this hotel on sale on Hotels.com for $84 and I believe the normal price is $100. Compare that to the other rooms down the street that are double or more. I just needed some place to sleep to avoid drinking and driving and didn't want to spend $350 knowing that I would only use the room for a few hours after being out all night. No, it's not the best hotel but it was clean. No, it's not the best bed I ever slept in but it was comfortable enough that I slept. Go into it with your eyes wide open and realistically set your expectations. Only down side is there is no parking but there is a $5 lot right behind it.

The staff/woman at the front desk was rude and unwelcoming. When I walked into the room there was a horrible smell, the blinds were mangled, the air conditioner was held in the window with duct tape, the walls and floor trim were filthy, the bed was hard as a rock, both of the air vents were filthy, there was black mold all around the shower and there was a wash cloth stuffed into a hole in the ceiling! The emergency light in the hallway was also hanging by exposed wires from the wall.

I really wasn't expecting much after reading the previous reviews, but I didn't want to spend $250-$450 for the other hotels in the Stockyards. After getting past the rude lady at the counter, I went to my room and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The carpet looked new and everything was very nice, clean and well kept. The TV was an old tube type and works like an old cable TV...you have to have it on the correct channel, after you turn it on, to get a picture. The only problem with this hotel, and it is to be expected, is that it is right in the middle of numerous night clubs and the Whiskey Girl, next door has outside speakers cranked up until 2:00 AM. It's not really too bad, but there are window units and the music penetrates the room through the A/C units. Nice hot shower. All in all, a nice weekend stay during the Red Stegall Cowboy Gathering weekend. Would stay again. Be sure and have a hamburger at Hooker's Hamburgers, right next door. GREAT FOOD! Old style greasy spoon hamburgers and excellent fires with a great staff!

It has gone way down hill and run down. Middle Eastern operators and lack of maintainable. Is a shame for an historic place in its location to be that way.

This was the worst hotel experience my husband and I have ever had. While the hotel looks quaint in the picture, it is really just old and run down. The best I can say is that the window unit air conditioner worked. The woman at the front desk is rude and talks on the phone all the time, making you feel that you are interrupting her. When I called to ask a question, she grunted an affirmation and then hung up on me as I was saying "Thank you." The ceiling fan in the room was missing the globe with the light bulb exposed. The paint was peeling. There is a bar/honky-tonk next door that plays extremely loud music that you can hear in the room until around 1 in the morning keeping us awake (it was a Saturday night). About 3AM we were awakened by a man and woman across the hall from us yelling at obscenities at each other for over ten minutes (we assumed they had been at the bar next door prior to returning to the room). When the cab driver dropped us off she warned us repeatedly not to go any further than the street the hotel is on because the neighborhood is unsafe. While it is convenient to the Stockyards, I would advise you to book somewhere else.

Right in the Stockyards, but this hotel is terribly dated, and mostly everything is falling apart (the towel rack was literally hanging from the wall). If you're just looking for a place to sleep and nothing else (including not showering, as the shower is pretty sketchy too), then this place will suit you just fine.

It is by no means a fancy hotel, but it was comfortable. The rooms are small. 3 hooks on the wall to hang your clothes. Kind of gives you an old days nostalgic feeling. It is located within easy walking distance of all the shops and activities we enjoy. The nexdesk clerk was a bit crabby and distracted, but I'm sure she is a good person at heart.

It was really hot outside like 102. The room was cool but the hallway warm. No breakfast but lots of places nearby for Lunch and Dinner

You know that friend's horrible apartment in Austin where you stay for SXSW because the hotels are super expensive and totally booked? This is THAT apartment but in hotel format. It's not good. It's dated and broken and dusty. But the bed is comfy, the room we were in had a working albeit noisy a/c, and the service was good. You can stumble from the Stockyards and Billy Bob's to the hotel and fall into the bed with zero problems. It's about $250 less than anything nearby on a show night.
