    My room has roaches crawling everywhere!! The place stinks of urine nothing smelled clean! We did not stay any longer than the 15 minutes it took us to get checked out which she still didnt do. She wrote a note about us leaving and never checked us out! The gentlemen the next morning when I drove back to check in my cancelation actually helped me get my refund settled they were great!

    This place is prime example of you get what you pay for. It ix conveniently located near Carowinds amusement park. You have to turn into the Circle K and use the road behind their car wash to find the building. Lots of parking in parking lot

    Refridgerator / freezer was not operational. Mattresses (both beds) were worn out and unsupportive. Almost impossible to sleep well in these beds. No, they did not leave the light on for me.

    WRONG ! I should have known better since the only entrance is a gas station parking lot. The lobby had 5 buckets in the center of the front room where you check in . We stayed optimistic as we were in the check in process and the front staff , Myron, was so nice , also very patient with everyone he was helping.

    The walls are falling apart. The room floors were sticky and dirty. There was dirt and dust all over the floor around the room. Dirty sheets. Bugs in my room as well as my neighbors. There's a reason this place is dirt cheap y'all.

    The mattresses were soft and comfortable. We slept well. However, there were several concerns. I saw 4 roaches and killed 3 of them. One of the beds was very shaky and unstable. The smell in the room was fine but in the first floor hallway it was very musty and had a pungent smell. All the electrical components between the double beds were not functioning (the lights, the electrical outlets and charging portals). We reported it to the front desk after our first night but nothing was repaired. Before the second night we were offered to change rooms but we decided to stay because the outlet in the bathroom worked and we could charge our devices from that one. There was also a leak in the lobby of the front desk area that had buckets and towels on the floor catching the water leaking. It wasn’t repaired during the 3 days of our stay there. Front Desk Staff was nice and polite but maintenance and upkeep needs improvement.

    The toilet had splattered poop from the previous occupants, the floor was all sandy, the table had traces of spilled drinks. I had to use my isopropyl alcohol and some cotton ball to clean and disinfect before placing anything on it. I stayed just for a night as a result.

    It was almost laughable how run down this hotel was. I paid for a premium room and there was a hole in the sheet rock on the ceiling (the size of a basketball. The curtains had tiny holes in it like it had been shot with a shot gun. The office smells rancid like something died. The hallway smells deeply of wet dog. The room smelled like cigarettes and wet dog. I prepaid for the room and checked in after ten so I stayed but I had to run to the store to get disinfectant, fabric freshener and air freshener. It helped for about an hour. Not to mention the parking lots are not well lit. The bathroom light did not work. When I brought it to the attention of the staff they stated they do not have on site maintenance. The room was so dirty I was scared to take off my shoes. The bed had hair in it like the sheets had never been changed. There was a shirtless guy passed out in the hallway with a forty in his hand. Most ratchet experience I’ve ever had in my life. I was shocked we survived the night. I will never stay at a motel 6 again!

    I booked a room yesterday canceled the booking with the property was told by the front desk I would be refunded by hotels.com now was told they cant refund without speaking to ur staff then I needed to rebook the room I did at which point they gave me a filthy mold infested room so I didn’t stay I would like a prompt refund

    the hotel/property was the worst that i have stayed. I had stayed at another Motel 6 in Charlotte. i had cockroaches on one of the beds. Another dead cockroach in the bathroom. I took a couple of pictures of that. After i checked in and went to the room, there was already someone else in the room. fortuntately, she was in the bathroom but saw her duffle bag with food on teh table and clothes on the bed and tv on. i ran out of the room. the hallway on teh second floor where i finally got another room reeked of cigarette smoke. i will never go back to this or another Motel 6.

    We came down for a couple days at carowinds and this is super close. Just drive further. Our room was so dirty I had to go buy Lysol and Clorox wipes just to feel comfortable enough to lay my stuff down. There was lots of visible dirt and dead bugs. Would not recommend this hotel no matter how cheap it was.

    I arrived at the hotel late at night/early morning after a long trip, only to be told at check-in that my reservation had been canceled. I was never notified in advance—no call, no email, no message of any kind. This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional, especially given the hour and the fact that I was exhausted. The staff did not provide a real solution or assistance in finding alternative accommodations. This situation is unacceptable for a hotel. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for reliable lodging.

    Wonderful front desk staff! Location is walking distance to Carowinds, a few restaurants and near a gas station. It’s a motel 6- you get what you get. Rooms are outdated, sink has beard shavings in it. There was no comforter however I was only there to sleep and shower travelling for work.

    Was initially sent to a room that didn’t have a latch attached to it as if someone kicked in the door and was not clean. The hotel guest before me had the same issue. If it wasn’t for the amount being non refundable I would’ve left and went to another hotel. Hallways are filthy and the hotel needs serious repairs. I’m not a negative person and normally don’t leave reviews but i wouldn’t stay at this hotel ever in life.

    Spoke with staff about this, they said since I booked through Expedia, I would have to contact them for refund, but the front desk managers (Jayden/Sherron) would be happy to approve my refund to Expedia upon their phone call. They did not. I lost $120 because of this abominable place, so I will never be recommending this location, hotel chain, or Expedia to anyone, ever. The state of South Carolina should do an investigation, because I am certain this hotel has more issues than what I just mentioned.

    Roaches and earwigs in the room and the hallway smelled like weed. It was so strong it choked you to death. Parking was terrible because there’s only one way in and out of the e building and we were all the way in the back of the hotel so we had to walk the dark parking lot to get in the building.

Parking was horrible and scary at night I felt like I needed to be armed going to and from my car. I will never stay there again and all I saved by staying there was $20 dollars I will spend that money and more not to stay there ever agaion.

    The made me pay extra for a different room then the one I booked because their cleaning staff didn’t get to it at time. Mind you I checked in at like 10:45 at night. You had all day. Then the sink was literally coming off the wall it felt unsafe to use. The toilet was uneven. The shower, the tub spout almost came off. And the bed was horrible I felt every spring. Then when I left I realized I maybe forgot something. Call them, do you think they answered? Nope. 3 of the phone numbers listed for them didn’t even work

    On arrival, receptionist was onnphone. I stood there 5 minutes. Upon getting her attention, she came to desk. She went on to tell me in passive aggressive, condesending behavior, that there is a bell on door and next time to use that instead of "clearing my throat"...she proceeded to tell me her name was Jaden. Furthermore, the room I felt was not in best condition. There was a hair in sink, bug on bed...Kudos for having Dish network though....would not recommend this hotel

    I had a reservation at this location on February 14th 2026. I must say the staff was very nice no issues there, I asked for a none smoking room I was told the 2nd floor rooms are all none smoking great the attendant then hands me the key to room 238 while walking to my room I noticed room 212 was broken into the whole door handle and lock was missing other rooms have been tampered with also. My room 238 the door wouldn't even close once I opened it the door lock and assembly was all broken like someone kicked the doors in I immediately asked to be put on the first floor which they had no rooms on that floor the attendant wanted to put me in 237 I wasn't going to leave my belongings in that room. so I then booked another hotel and asked for a refund which according to the attendant they not authorized to do. Don't make the mistake of booking this place if you had kids it's smells I seen about 7 dogs go in and out the rooms while I was waiting. Absolutely horrible

    All the staff (EXCEPT Mr. Personality on PM shift who is mad all the time because other people exist and I watched him want to fight two different people in the 5 days I was there) was amazing!!! Services were okay. Their TP policy not so much considering women might need a bit extra during a certain week and they want to charge you for it. Other than that and the constantly barking dogs, broken door, and the dead roach carcass stuck to the wall, which I did not remove because no, it was cool for the money if you don't drive, I guess.

    Location was good that's about it. It wasn't the room we requested or booked for this facility doesn't even have king rooms let alone a got tub. The beds weren't beds no name for it, had to put mattress on top of the other mattress for any comfort. This was my worst stay ever. The sink didn't even work.     Not pet friendly and after getting threatened with a $50 fine for my dog using the bathroom pee of all things in the wrong place a flower bed while pooring rain trying to make it to my car and cold and the clerk that was so rude became emotional and threatening saying that I couldn't ask what the heck his problem was he started yelling and saying he was a man and I couldn't talk to him any kinda way but when he told me don't let me see you do it again or it's a$50 fine I said just go ahead and fine he told me to come and get it and he had temper issues because this location also doesn't offer housekeeping they require you to take ur trash to the dumpster and bring towels to the desk for exchange while housekeeper is not working and this cleck is and was rude when asked to explain what to do for cleaning and towels and I told the housekeeper he was rude so he decided that he could act this way and after letting me renew my stay from 12/23/25 to 12/26/25 they refused to renew my reservation for 12/26 - 1228 because I filled a complaint that was used against the employee and said to keep peace they couldn't honor my reservation but I had filled my complaint against the employee on 12/18 and ended that stay on 12/23

They had no paper sleeves in which to insert the room key card so used a 3 x 5 card. Didn't tell me where the room was or where to park. Room key didn't open the broken side door. Returned to the main entrance and found where my room was. Hallway was filthy and littered with trash. Was pleasantly surprised at how clean and comfortable the room appeared. Went to sleep and was awakened 10 minutes later when a large spider crawled down my arm I brushed it off and it ran under the refrigerator. I was tired and moved to the other side of the bed and went back to sleep. Woke up to get ready to get back on the road. The shower had ample temperature and pressure, but ran along the bathroom wall and floor where there were tiles missing. That's going to be an issue for them. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Then I noticed there was a bath mat and a bath towel, but no face towel or washcloth. I went to the sink to brush my teeth and shave and there was no cold water, so I did without instead of risking second degree burns.     The staff was very kind and welcoming so 5 stars for that. However, the room was not clean, specifically a lot of gross areas on the walls, the shower had a huge patched spot that looked like we could fall through, and they have a roach infestation which was really unnerving. If we were planning a longer stay we would have had to find somewhere else, but given the limited time we were in the room, we made it work.

    After being at Carowinds all day and night, all I wanted to do was get to the hotel and get some rest. When I get there I get a whiff of old stale cigarette smoke, but at that point I'm like ok well I already paid and I'm exhausted so I'm willing to overlook that. So as im about to check in the receptionist tells me she has bad news.. Her system or computer was letting the hotel book more stays than they had rooms available, so basically I was left with no option but to leave and get a refund of course since I never even got a room. We ended up driving home 3 hours away got home at 3 am and were super exhausted.. The morning after I had to call the hotel because I noticed I never got a receipt for my refund but they told me I had to contact Hotels.com, wich I did and they were able to help with the refund. The whole thing was super upsetting so becareful when booking with this hotel.

Was given another room and the Water In the shower continues to run when the shower is turned off. Which was aggravating to hear at night.     I made a reservation for 2 room got there and was told I was upgraded bc room wasn't available I got down graded to a small bed when I reserved 2 king bed rooms, The heater in my room (139) when turned up smoked to the point of setting of fire alarms off, I brought it to the front desk station and was told to deal with it or leave. Both rooms where infested with bugs, no soap or shampoo in either room. I tried to get a refund bc the room where nasty and has bugs and I was told it's my own issue, we both slept in the truck bc the rooms where not in an condition to be slept in at all. There was people deal drugs by the back door and the front counter said to mind my business. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    I did not have the locks on, the desk clerk would have been in my room, knocking and yelling to the top of his lungs, asking who was I and what was I doing in this room! I was in a very deep sleep!! He said that the room was confirmed for other people! He was one lock away from being in the room! The office lady claimed she had to put me in a fake room number in order to check me in. She withheld truth! Terrible experience! I had to call the desk to find out the problem. He said he saw where I was put in a wrong room, but the damage was done! I could feel the springs in the mattress against my body in the bed! Everything was set up for someone in a wheelchair. There was no chair in the room. The one requested was saturated with the smell of urine that filled the room! Had I sat in that chair, I would have been thought to be nasty and smelly I was too tired from travel to complain and get bad treatment for that. So I sprayed the chair to kill the odor and put it to the side! Same lady brought the chair and checked me in!!!! The bathroom was filthy! The handicap seat in the shower had been burned with most of it charred and missing. The smell of marijuana was problematic and I had to either turn of the ac or improvise in order to breathe! It made me smell like I was a smoker! I never smoked in my life! I had to go I am due a refund.

    My 19 year old daughter tried to check in here. The Motel 6 website says they allow check in at 18, but Eddie (at the desk) would not let them check in and turned them away at 10:30 PM. NOT GOOD. Above and beyond that, they told me that the location was dirty and NOT SAFE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

    Ok, this hotel was booked for a bed and a shower for the night after we were at Carowinds amusement park. The price was a big selling point. My biggest issue is we booked for 2 nights but wanted to leave after the first night. The lady at the front desk said it's not an issue, to just check out after the 1st night and you will get credited for the 2nd night. After we left, I was notified that the hotel denied the refund. The place is a little run down; there are many vehicles in the parking lot that have been there for a long time with flat tires. No one was at the front desk when we came to check in and I waited about 5 minutes only to be greeted from someone that walked in the same front door as I.

    No housekeeping once in our 2 week stay. Refused to give me clean towels or bedding the whole stay. The tv and mini fridge were both broken, Water was shut off twice , the first time was a full day and night. The second time was a whole day and half the night.     It was by far the one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I payed for 7 days. On the day I checked in I was told I would get a refrigerator put in my room since it didn’t have one. Never got it . Could not keep anything cold in my room. No microwave in the room either. They wouldn’t change my lien either. Told me I would have to wash it myself along with the one towel and wash clothe I was given. Paid way over 400 dollars for that room. You would think you would get treated better. Not counting the whole building smells like marijauna. I don’t recommend any one staying here with their family. Not a good environment.

    The front desk guy was very unprofessional and quite rude. We Paid ahead of time and was told at first that they would not let us check in because it was “too late” but we paid ahead of time and they already had us a room assigned he just had to give us the key. The facilities were unkept and the halls/room had a nasty smell. There was trash throughout the halls and you could tell our room floors were not swept. If it wasn’t 3 am and we didn’t need to stop for a few hours we would have gotten a refund and found somewhere else. We will not be returning.

    When my family and I first arrived the hotel; they told us that they saw my reservation but they did not have a room for us. They claimed they overbooked and tried to offer me a refund that would take 3-5 days to get through. It took them almost an hour to get us a room. Even when they did get us a room I asked for one that had a refrigerator and a microwave. It was even in my reservation to have both of those appliances. They did not provide them. Once I entered my room there not enough towels for my family and I. It was good thing I packed some anyway. The bathroom also only had two mini bars of soap and no shampoo or conditioner. On multiple occasions I had to go to the front desk to get my key card fixed so I could enter my room. The elevator to get to my room sounded as if it was in desperate need of repairs and my children were scared to ride because of the sounds. There was an overabundance of pet defecation around the whole property from guests not picking up after their pets. Considering all of these issues my family and I experienced we have decided to not stay here again. It is terrible when children (ages 7&4) say they don't want to stay at this hotel ever again either. I am very disappointed in my stay and will definitely choose a different hotel from now on and avoid Motel 6 for the rest of my life after this experience. The only redeeming quality is that check out was incredibly smooth. Other than that I will never recommend Motel 6 to anyone!

The fire alarm went off twice in the night (not shocking considering full-time tenants were smoking inside), people were shouting, playing music late into the night (2am). It was a disaster. There was mold everywhere, the AC smelled, the stairway smelled like urine, there were stains and holes all over the walls, it was a literal nightmare. I would have slept better in a jail cell. 0/10. Too bad, there isn't a lower rating for this cesspool.

    Offers probably extended stay and pets allowed, so several rooms you could see cats in windows and we saw dogs on leash in the hallways. Unfortunately in a couple of areas the cat urine smells in hallways was pretty bad. Our tub was deeply scratched to the point it had a bathmat in which was spongy (the tub surface) and the floor had huge scratches all probably from a dog locked in there? Rooms did not smell and ac worked great. Not enough towels but the desk attendant did give me more. Staff super helpful.

    The staff were nice but the conditions of the hotel were poor. People live on the top floor so you hear dogs barking people banging on each other’s doors. The room wasn’t too bad but the bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly and the bathroom door was warped. We asked for non smoking room and was put in a smoking room. We got there so late from driving that we decided to make the best of it and stay.

    If you plan on staying here, make sure you have your own towels and toiletries. None were in the room. Towels were finally provided eventually. Check the beds, the first room I was in the beds were broken. The tub dripped constantly, the light switch popped when turning it on. The second room (I asked to be moved) the beds were better, but the lights did flicker a lot, the shower head leaked when turned on. The staff was very nice for the most part. The night desk girl was the only iffy one.

    The halls smelled of dog/cat urine and smoke and were not climate controled, several of the doors to rooms seemed to have been kicked in(visible broken door jams) parking lot and surrounding area was littered with drug addicts and what i assume was dog excrement and syringe caps. The gentleman at the front desk was nice but had visable track marks on both arms. My 2 yr old daughter, wife and i stayed in the room for roughly 45 min before finding other accommodations. Overall we just felt it to be an unsafe, unsanitary establishment I didnt even ask for a refund we just needed to get out of there immediately.

    Even though the they were clearly working on property and things looked liked they could use some repairs and fresh paint. There was a well lit parking with one man working the front desk who made me feel very comfortable and safe . So thank you for peace of mind and a good night sleep.     No smell, loud , ghetto when trying to sleep for work. Gave me the most outdated room they had, which consists of stains on walls that couldve been sprayed down and wiped off. Lazy cleaners. Floor was so old, it was sunken in. I work early morning to late wvening so i didnt have time to express my frustrations. First room weeks ago , was nice but dirty. Will have to pay extra to stay elsewhre where the cleaners are stricter with their room appearances . Too grown to not know how to clean thoroughly

    100% actual experience. I just stop here for an overnight stay while traveling through the state. This hotel is very run down and dirty. Its definitely a hotel for people that do drugs and live there. I was woken up at 2am with people fighting in the hallway. I didn't dare take a shower in thier. I would never recommend this hotel!!!

    It is very unclean. The environment is awful. Looks like poor people live in this hotel. I saw one woman entering hotel. It looked like she was on drugs when we arrived we smelt marijuana. I woke up at night from sound of coughing and I felt that this person was next to me in my room. Also, the music was playing and I couldn’t fall asleep again so we left at 4AM with huge relief that we are not there anymore.

    This place was worse than terrible. The hallways smelt like urine, the trash was overflowing the trash bends, the walls were paper thin so you could hear everyones conversation next door to you, and plus i received nothing i paid for in my room. No refrigerator no microwave which were clearly stated in my reservations and when i ask the attendant at the front desk about it i was told i had to pay extra for it even though my reservation stated thats what i paid for already. The bed was uncomfortable that i couldnt even sleep.i was so disgusted with this hotel and thoa box they put me that i checked out before i could get settled in good.

    I like was a good location. The check in staff was horrible. I arrived about 11:30 am this person called himself Mia immediately told me it was a $25.00 early checkin/$25.00 late checkout. Sounds like a scam to me. Never heard that fee with motel 6. Only to return around 10 pm for check in. My room door looked like it had been burglarized. The bed was hard and noisy. Some areas was dusty dirty. Seem more like a pet hotel then anything pets everywhere. To matters worst the elevator only worked in the upward mode only. It seems as if they rented room by the week. A lot of locals.

    No blankets on either bed. Old, lumpy pillows. Mattresses are disgusting. Floor is filthy. Bathroom is gross, not clean, we won't shower here, no way. Bathroom door is rotting on the bottom. Walls are filthy, covered in black handprints & smears. I don't think the remote has ever been wiped, so sticky and nasty. Phone has no wire/plug and is more sticky than the remote. The hallway smells like cat pee. The ac is broke. The overall hotel is just old, dated, unkempt, dirty, stinky & dingy.

    Elevators were not working most of the time, great chance that if you switch from a premium room to standard, you will not receive refund promised for chnge of accomodation, the coffee is right in the front each morning but people are leaning on that table on their phones, the staff is wonderful and friendly and willing to do what they can, check in staff did a wonderful job, she was very friendly and professional

    We did not stay with you! We had reservations with confirmation numbers that were made on the prior Monday. When we arrived to check in we were told there was only 1 reservation for 1 room. You were shown the confirmations. The response we got was that one of the reservations had been cancelled because the room was not available. I never received any notice of cancellation from either Expedia or Motel 6. We were told we could not have the 2nd room because the motel was completely booked. Therefore, we were left scrambling to find another place to stay on short notice. We were in the area to attend our son's funeral service. Needless to say, you made a bad situation almost unbearable. We will NEVER recommend your property to anyone!!

    We did not stay with you!. We booked 2 rooms, and I have the confirmations. When we arrived you only had 1 room for us. You told us one of the rooms had been cancelled because it wasn't available - even though the reservations had been made the previous Monday and I had confirmation numbers. I NEVER received any kind of cancellation notice from Expedia or Motel 6!! You would not give us the second room because you said you were completely booked. Therefore, we did not stay with you at all. We were in the area to attend our son's funeral service. You made a bad situation even worse because someone cancelled one of our rooms. We will not EVER recommend you to anyone.

    There was a massive noise issue at 4am when a woman was being kicked out of the hotel. I understand this was not the hotel's fault and they were handling the situation. So, I gave a couple stars back for that. However, not having blankets on the beds and then being told that they don't have any to give me is low star quality. While they did give a couple more thin sheets to use, how does a hotel not have enough blankets for their beds? I paid for a safe place to comfortably sleep.... And instead, I wish I had just made the 3 hour drive home after 11 hours at Carowinds. I would have gotten better rest and saved money.

    I evacuated for the hurricane and was on my way home. I requested a ground floor because I have 2 pugs. I was given a room on the second floor in the middle of the hotel. The mattress was worn out and so uncomfortable I could’ve slept better in my car. They barely had an area to walk my pugs, and it wasn’t picked up. I picked up several piles on dog poop so that myself or others wouldn’t step in it.

    Stay was not great. Check in was ok, when we got to the room we found a bag that belonged to someone else. Which was strange because the room had been cleaned. Also there was a big hole in the wall where it looked like it had been attempted to be repaired but very poorly. The whole place smelled awful and the elevator did not work correctly. I saw that a military discount was offered, but not honored when I brought it up to hotel staff.

    For a cheap hotel this wasn't bad. Stayed a week and normally I'm paranoid about the atmosphere around me these establishments have. But it was quiet people weren't bad and it's literally next door to a big gas station and a culvers. It's still a cheap hotel but i would keep it a option
