Motel 6 Florence, SC

I don't mind older places as long as they're clean. However, I saw two german roaches in our room...... That is not cool. I pray I don't have any hitchhikers........

I have to say, this is the best motel 6 I’ve stayed at. The tv is huge, beds comfortable, nice large tub/shower with plenty of hot water and really large bathroom vanity area with plenty of storage space throughout. Oh and multiple usb charger outlets. Oh and there’s even a laundry room. All for a super affordable rate with no pet fee. I will definitely stay here again when traveling.

Staff said room is non smoking, but when we enter the room, it has smoking smell. I think door lock could have been better. Microwave was there, but there is no plug near, we carry it to the sink and warm our food. But there is no other complain about the service. Internet was good, and staff was helpful.

There were roaches in the bathtub crawling out the drain . The bathtub was horrible looking and dirty looking to the point where I would not shower nor bath in it. There was several roaches crawling around the bedroom. I WOULD NOT stay there again !

Staff is OUTSTANDING. Shout out to Edward at front desk - cheerful, and resolved any concerns immediately. Older facilities but well maintained. Will definitely stay again.

The only good thing about the place was the staff. She was sweet and helpful. But the room was filthy and infested with roaches. The bathroom was nasty and the tub drain was clogged. Never again.

First non-smoking room reeked of smoke & I had an allergy attack so they changed the room. I couldn’t sleep all nite. I had the lights on & I was on roach patrol so my 81 yr old husband with a lot of health issues could get some rest. I notified the Better Business Bureau of the conditions & I asked them to notify corporate of the conditions at one of their hotels. Also think it was a welfare hotel & no one regardless of monetary status should have to live like that. I will never stay at a Motel 6 again.

Everything else about this place was pretty bad. Room was dirty-old pair of mens underwear was left on a chair, the door didn't shut/lock properly leaving a sizeable gap under the door, the bed frame and end tables had burns on them, the AC, although set to 61 was not able to archieve this and and the bathroom had a lot of water damage. The biggest issue was there were German roaches in the room. The discovery of these result in a very early check out.

Room was not clean I had to clean it myself. Room started leaking. So I had to leave no other rooms available. Also had to fight with orbitz to get my refund

The man high pressuring the side walk at night til after 10pm and putting all the dirt from sidewalk on our car and under our room door our car was awful took me 15 plus min to clean one side windows and mirror was like filmy stuff stuck on our car took picture cause this was not right if he would have said something we could have moved our car but also kept awake from the noise from machine that late was uncalled for and spraying stuff on our car isn't right and someone else should have to pay to clean it because we keep this car clean and nice have pictures also

this is a very run down property. I mentioned bugs in the room to the front desk, who sat there masked and just said, uh huh. I hear they are trying to bring the property up, but it;s not there yet, and has a way to go.

There were roaches in the room as soon as we opened the door. Roaches in the bathroom. Cigarette burns in the bed linens and the bathtub. It was a quick over night stay (we arrived 1:30 in the morning and were on the road again by 6 a.m.) as we headed south but I would never stay there again!

While the staff was friendly, that was the only thing good about the motel. Yes I do understand the phase “you get what you paid for” but even here that phase doesn’t work. I paid for a non smoking room yet first thing that hit us was the weed smell when we opened the door, then the little grinded up peices of weed on the floor. The tube bottome was block from the lack of cleaning. The bed had cigarette burns and the pillows smelled musty. Definitely not worth the 100 for the 1 night. Again staff was great and friendly but that’s the only positive I can say

Bathroom was left in shambles from previous person to stay. Urine all over the floor surrounding the toilet, pubic hair on and around toilet seat. Air conditioner didnt work at all on a 90 degree stay. Door handle was held together by electrical tape.

It was the worst motel we have ever stayed in. It was dirty. We had no toilet paper in the room. There was cob webs hanging from the ceiling. The floor was sticky and dirty. The shower was dirty. It stunk. We notified 2 different workers that the microwave didn’t work and was blowing sparks when we used it and it had cockroaches in it. We had cockroaches all thru the room we killed over 50 of them. At night time you had hookers walking around by the rooms outside. The tv didn’t want to work half the time .

You get what you pay for. Stayed two nights. There were bugs in our room, specifically the sink and tub. Maid service did clean and re made the beds. Dont know if the sheets were changed. Close to the highway, gas stations, fast foods, restaurants. Not bad, not great. Just fine.

This Motel 6 is advertised as very clean and nice. This is one of if not the worst Hotel I stayed in , This place never been clean or painted in decade and so dirty its amazing that the city health services dont close you down. I do not recomment anyone to stay at this hole, not even for a night.My stay was yesterday and today I am staying at Motel 6 in Carlisle PA , a very nice and clean hotel and nice front office attendant.

Nothing Scary broken door lock ceiling was leaking tiny bugs were everywhere on floor in wet areas. Bathtub was chipped and stained red just looked and felt creepy.

Liked Nothing about the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better would be to implode the building and start over. Plywood on windows is not acceptable. Making handicapped people walk further than necessary and to a room that wasn't even equipped for a handicapped person is also unacceptable. Motel6 you should be ashamed of your self. Plus if we had left our car overnight it would have been stripped clean. This is the USA is not a third world country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The staff was very friendly and it looked nice on the outside but the door wouldnt shut all the way big gap and there was at least 7 roaches that I personally saw and I just cant stay somewhere with roaches, i hardly got a few hours sleep and couldnt use the shower.

Check in was 3pm got there 4 something and room won’t ready but they sent us up..Had to get a new room. While we was sleep a guest was able to walk into our room. Then we left and our card was deactivated and we weren’t refunded at least a partial payment for the inconvenience.

Absolutely NOTHING!!!! The lighting was inadequate; there were baby roaches on the heater along with the smell of urine. There was a fly on the pillow. The facility is very old evidenced by the room itself. The front desk staff had an attitude which I wouldn't wish on anyone. I did not stay there and requested a refund, which I was told that I would be given. That remains to be seen.

My room was absolutely disgusting. Floors are loose the bathroom was disgusting. The only thing new was the vanity and the mirror. Sat down to eat my dinner real late and there were cockroaches in the room. I couldn't even believe that. I would have gone to another hotel but this is prepaid and I'm really hesitant to ever do that again.

I was using this as a stopover point to get from new jersey to Florida, I wa500.car s looking for an inexpensive place. And i've always heard the commercials for motel six, we'll leave the light on for you. I have used booking dot com in the past with no issues. I get there. And the room is not the greatest as far as cleanliness. My wife and I are resting, and I found two cockroaches running around behind the entertainment center. We picked up and ran out of the apartment with our clothes. Emptied our bags, and I found another cockroach. It was late. We wound sleeping in our car by a truck. Stop in 37° weather When I went to management, they were going to give me another room I said.If they're in one room, they're in the other and he said, not necessarily but agreed to give me my full refund. Think what they're getting, the cockroaches from is they have long-term. People staying there with animals having cat food outside and cans unopened. The staff didn't seem to want to do anything about it, saying they've tried to get rid of them.And they keep on coming back because they can't stop people from bringing them in.

We needed a place to stay along I 95 and thought this might be just okay for the night. The ceiling was falling in, the floors were filthy, saw several roaches and it smelled of cigarettes and weed even in a non smoking room. I wouldn’t stay again.

The front desk clerk at Check-in was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable period it is a much older property which has had some renovations but could use a lot more. There were some interesting people hanging around outside. However, the room was clean and there were no disturbing noises. Through the night

Right off the highway, bathrooms were disgusting.

They couldnt find my reservation. The gentleman at the desk was kind and friendly, so i patient with him. He had to book a whole new reservation. When i went to the room, it was deplorable, I could tell that someone had dog(s) before, as the smell was overwhelming, the bed especially. It was late ans i only would be there for a few hours, so sat up on a chair until day break, then checked out.

Sketchy atmosphere and aesthetically neglected.

Door said “thank you for not smoking” but room smelled like a cigarette. Room was so noisy and not clean

Greatt Stay

Upon arriving we saw a man out in the parking lot picking up a soda can and paper on the grounds . I said hello and was greeted with a smile and a very welcoming response . It turns out it was the owner of the property and he has just purchased the property only a month ago . I know this motel 6 has not gotten the best reviews in the past but I’m here to say that was the past and they are renovating this place . I felt very safe there as it was lit up very well and brand new surveillance cameras everywhere. Though the pool was not open yet there was a crew working at the pool area . Looks like it’s going to be an amazing place to enjoy an afternoon poolside as it is a huge pool with plenty of space for 30 plus pool chairs and tables . I can’t wait to come back when pools open . I’m glad my wife and I got to meet Herschel the owner . We were so amazed how accommodating he was. We will be back

Check in lady had food on the counter vape sitting out. Took 30 mins to check me in and assigned rooms a whole floor apart.

Ok place for the price

we checked into the hotel. The attendant was nice. We went around the corner of the hotel. We saw at least 15 rowdy people drinking wine out of a paper bag when we got out of our car they came over to the car and asked for a money handout. The scene was very scary. It felt like we were surrounded by a gang we got back into the car immediately went back to the clerk at the hotel and we told her we couldn’t stay. There was too dangerous for us and we didn’t feel safe. She said she understood and she said she refunded our money. This is one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had checking into a motel. It was like a war zone.

The walls were dirty, probably was unkept. Linen stained linen sheets were outside in the stairwell.

Roaches!!!!!!

The place itself was generally ok with the major exception of massive roaches during the daytime in the room. We had seen 5 in the first 5 minutes of checking in...can't even imagine what that would have been in the night time. Immediately went to office and checked out.

I didn't even stay I couldn't stay in that room I had to go get another hotel room I didn't even ask for my money back plus I had the insurance on it didn't care I would never stay there again or even attempt to stay there

Don’t stay here! Sink and tub were filthy, roaches in my room, at 4:45 am ladies were outside banging in a door yelling and screaming! I talked with the police and they said I was staying at a bad place with prostitution and drugs. You could not pay me to stay there again!!!

The pictures on the website certainly do not match the reality of this hotel. The rooms are partially renovated with a new bed and have all the amenities like a fridge and the sink and vanity have been updated. The bathtub was stained and we didn’t want to use it. It is very noisy as it is close to a major road. We didn’t sleep well.

The staff was nice. The room was comfortable, but I think they use segregation in the hotel. I was placed in the back when it wasI clearing rooms open on the other side in the front

Drug infested on the smoker side people hanging out all the time of the night drug addict knocking on your door hotel room only have one face tower one dry towel and one bath towel. It was a double room two queen beds always smell like piss staff just didn't give a damn bed was comfortable, but you couldn't sleep from all the noise and the drug is knocking on your door police in parking lot, they should have paid me for Stan now.

The room is ok at best. The floor is dirty, bathtub needs to be placed along with the microwave. Furniture needs to be replaced. The smell of weed permeates the area.Guests have charcoal grills outside their door.

It was an okay place. Thry offered room service. But never got room service. Looks like they maybe doing some renovation there. They offered room service. But never came to clean the room. There was the smell of pot smome coming from the next room. The room was okay. Not to clean. But it was okay for the trip that it was needed for since we didnt have to stay in the room just to sleep.. Definitely wont be staying there again.

My stay wasn't good. The room had roaches in it. The ceiling and walls had old dry, rusty looking stains on them.

Had an amazing checkin Stephenie at front desk when I checked in was very sweet and kind.

The room I reserved the ceiling was leaking water and the next room I was put in had mold of some sort on the bed.

Buyer beware! If the price is too low, there’s a reason! AND not only did they not leave a light on, it wasn’t set to be switched on by at the door. Had tk use my cell phone flashlight in order to see and turn on the bathroom light.
