    I actually canceled a hotel in Flagstaff because the pool was under renovation. We had our granddaughter with us and wanted her to be able to swim, that is why I booked at Sonesta. Unfortunately the pool was not as clean as I would have hoped for. They had 2 lounge chairs that couldn't be used because the seat part was broken. In hind site I should have keep my original hotel because we didn't use this pool. The pool had trees around it, so the bottom on the pool looked like an accumulation of leaves.

    The breakfast The property was really dated and the lights were out in the hallway. I had to use a flashlight to walk upstairs and find my room. Looked like a cat used the couch as a scratching post. People smoking outside our door made our room smell like cigarettes. The popcorn ceiling was turning brown near the ac vent

    The property is ok, but not worth the $$$ $200.00 a night for this ? Nope. Breakfast was nasty. Coffee undrinkable. Lower the price or make this place a better stay. Dirty rugs, nasty windows tracks, couldn’t even open the window to catch some fresh air. Breakfast was bad, quality of food below average. No even a fruit offered.

    I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, liked the properties layout, and loved the location of it. We were disappointed about not using the fireplace, but understood the policy. Hopefully, we can return during the “fireplace season”. I thought it strange to pay for parking, that was a surprise and unexpected. We thought it was time to replace the sleeper couch in the room, although the room was clean and looked updated, the old furniture gave off a “grundgy vibe”. We got used to it, but we didn’t expect the rooms to be separated into buildings, like an apartment complex. We thought about the challenges customers could face in the winter. Traveling and living in the Midwest, hotels with room suites were all enclosed.

    The location There was blood on the bed and the curtains from the last people. 50 dollars was taken from me for insurance if anything happened to the room, I was informed that it would be given back in a few days, but there is no recurrence that they will actually give it back, even if the room is fine. When I told them about the blood, there was no discount or anything for this disgusting inconvenience, just an offer to move rooms after we just unpacked everything or new sheets that we would have to put on ourselves. The experience was very poor

I took a picture with room completely darkened and you can clearly see daylight around the door letting in lots of bugs and spiders. The door is locked shut in this picture.     We hadn't stayed here in several years and were shocked by how the property had deteriorated. The entire outside areas needed power washing or at least swept clean. Our room had black duct tape on the floor in two spots. The corner of the bedroom wall had flaking paint & the caulking in the bathroom showed signs of mold. Plus we tried to check in early & was told it would be $25.00. In addition we were charged $5.00 per night for parking. VERY DISSATISFIED.

    Excellent hotel but TERRIBLE fragrance in the lobby and breakfast area! As soon as we entered to check-in, we were overwhelmed by the "Sonesta Signature Scent" that is synthetic and unhealthy to inhale. If this is what Sonesta does across their brand, then we'd rather return to the Marriot Residence Inn. Indoor air pollution is a thing, and adding toxic chemicals in the guise of "fragrance" is pollution. The worst part is that the fragrance was wafting through the breakfast room which is connected to the lobby so while you're eating breakfast, you're inhaling this chemical scent that clings to your nostrils well after leaving the space. It's not necessary and I hope this message finds the upper management of this chain so they can rid themselves of this major negative. It's not just unhealthy for guests, it's unhealthy for the Sonesta employees that can't escape it. Abercrombie and Fitch used to permeate their stores with fragrance and after numerous complaints (staff were getting chronic headaches from the toxicity) they finally ended that practice. I'm not scent sensitive by the way, so it's not that. I'm just a regular person who knows "bad" when she smells it. Other than that, we loved staying here! The staff was great, the bed was comfortable, and the grounds were pleasant.

    Overall, nice place to stay, roomy, comfy beds. Quiet and nice views. Only complaint we had was the carpets looked dirty and living room furniture was all scratched up. Could use some updated furniture for sure.

    Now the negatives: room was very old, outdated, run down with torn and frayed carpets, dirty carpets that you hesitated walking on with bare feet, old curtains, dirty walks, several dents on from entry door conveyed a negative connotation about safety in the area. Furnishings like sleeper coach, chair, ottoman all looked like they were old the material had bare spots and tears in them and the cushions were flat almost worn out looked like they were bought at a garage sale not Hotel quality. There was a coffee maker but coffee was weak and tasteless. I’m trying to be honest here in my review so that people can make up there mind on whether to stay here this was rated I believe in high 8’s but in reality should have received in the mid 6’s. Also extremely noisy from other adjacent rooms and those above this appears to be more of converted old condos beware in my opinion before staying here much better options in Flagstaff. Breakfast was typical powdered eggs, home style potato’s and link sausage and oatmeal. Nothing that sets it apart and this is a huge company no excuse

    Liked the layout and it was quiet, and clean. The breakfast was good with lots of options. Staff was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable a little too high for my elderly mom but comfy and clean. The couch was terrible, very hard and unfortunately had a cover on it to cover the fact it was old. The chair and ottoman was fake and was cracking and peeling everywhere so the furniture needs a refresher for sure.

    Robert and Chris, the General Manager, made check-in feel less like a transaction and more like being welcomed into a sitcom where everyone is charming and oddly invested in your dinner plans. Chris especially was an absolute hoot, enthusiastically chatting with us about the restaurant we’d chosen for our family celebration. Our room was spacious, blissfully quiet, and equipped with two critical vacation necessities: gloriously frosty AC and a bed so comfortable it nearly caused us to miss checkout altogether. The bathroom also had enough drawers and cubbies to contain my ever-expanding collection of cosmetics and mysterious “just in case” toiletries. EvenThe suite was spacious, quiet, and thoughtfully designed — especially the bathroom storage, which this cosmetics-loving traveler greatly appreciated. Most importantly, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the AC delivered wonderfully chilly “arctic sleep” temperatures, making for a fantastic night’s rest. Even with graduation crowds in town, the rate felt very reasonable for the level of comfort and service we received. We’d happily stay at Sonesta ES Suites again the next time we’re in Flagstaff!

    There was plenty of space in the unit and overall it suited our needs since we were traveling with our dog. There is a really good dog area adjacent to, and part of the facility. This leads to a trail where we were able to get our dog a little more exercise. For all my negativism regarding this property, we would probably come back if renos had been done. The property grounds needed some work as well. There were garbage bags left for a couple of days in places where they shouldn't have been left, beside side walks. The facility has incredible potential but requires a serious renovation, and a better maintenance team.

    The place was in shambles. I would never stay there. The only thing that was acceptable was the staff. They were super understanding when we said we couldn’t stay there. The staff was way too good for the property. I really hope the owner changes the place soon.

    O stars. We use to stay here often, it was a lovely place .Not anymore . Upon arriving on 3/26/26 the property grounds were dirty and we noticed there was yellow caution tape around the hot tub. Our room was very hot, the room did not smell pleasant , the carpet , the furniture and the room in general was not clean. My husband went to the front desk to ask if we could be moved to a different room due to the air not working. They said no, they would send a maintenance man. The maintenance man did not come right away so I went to the front desk to tell them how unsatisfactory the room was and asked if we could just check out and get a refund. A man came up and said we could check out, but no refund because we did not give them a chance to rectify the problem. We did actually give them a chance by asking to be switched to a different room and then waiting for the maintenance man who did not show up right away. I also mentioned that the we had looked forward to using the hot tub during our stay and were not informed of it being out of service. So the amenities were not as promised either. Feeling trapped due to no refund, I went back to our room to find the maintenance man cursing and banging on the thermostat in front of my daughter and it was now 95 degrees in the room. We went back to the front desk and spoke to Taylor who said to call hotels.com and have them request a refund and she would approve the refund. I did , and she denied the refund twice. This is a terrible place

    Very clean room, warm welcome at check in. Location is good, close to golf, hiking and the mall. Breakfast was as good as any hotel. Nice kitchen in the room. Our main floor room was too close to the AC unit which was very loud all night. A second floor room would be quiet.

    The location was great. If we come back that would be the probable reason. Having a dog park and open fields behind the hotel was a great bonus for our dog. Room was clean. #1. Our sofa was broken and they couldn't fix it. So that left us sitting either in bed or on the bar height chairs that weren't very comfortable. #2. TV was not working. We did not find that out until we went to turn it on about 6pm. There was no one there that late that could fix it so we had no TV the first night. #3. Safe was locked and needed to be unlocked by staff; same thing no one there that night to fix it. #4. Having a full kitchen with stove and larger refrigerator was great. Except ice cube maker did not work; it produced ice that was brown. #5. Very little stocked in the kitchen. 2 large plates, 2 small plates and 3 bowls. Hardly any pots or pans. The nonstick pan was disgusting and scratched so did not use it. That left us we two aluminum pots to cook with.

    The couch was absolutely disgusting and we wouldn't evens it on it. The kitchen sink barely drained, and the disposal barely worked. The TV offered nothing but local channels, no option to sign into your own Netflix accounts like a normal hotel. It was just OKAY, not sure I'd stay again.

    Our first room was a 2 bedroom with a pullout couch. Unfortunately the couch was not usable. It was filthy and broken. The staff were very helpful and gave us another room that was better. It had a full size couch that didn't pull out into a bed, but atleast my kid could sleep on it. Breakfast was great! One of the best I've seen.

    Staff were wonderful, breakfast was very good, fresh veggies were a very nice surprise; the size of the unit was amazing, kitchen and bathrooms were clean and fresh; however, living room pullout sofa was beyond acceptable condition and the carpets were quite stained.

    Staff were wonderful, breakfast was very good, fresh veggies were a very nice surprise; the size of the unit was amazing, kitchen and bathrooms were clean and fresh; however, living room pullout sofa was beyond acceptable condition and the carpets were quite stained.

    Rooms are very outdated and furniture is very worn.     I emailed the GM and AGM on 1/19/26 and as of 1/24/26 I have not received any acknowledgement of receipt of my email. My brother and I booked rooms for our families and when when we arrived, we were alerted that the key programming system was down and that we would have to be let into our rooms every time we left. I cannot imagine what it was like for the young lady at the front desk having to run around the property opening doors for everyone with varying degrees of feelings about the situation.I begrudgingly (for the sake of the staff) went to the front desk to report that my television was not working. Andrew was sent to our room to address the issue. As soon as he walked in, he instantly recognized the problem and he relayed that this was a recurring issue with a specific kind of TV. He went above and beyond to help. It was getting late and we went the entire first day without use of the TV when we had 2 families in one room (my brother’s family had dinner with us in our room). As promised, Andrew brought the TV and got it working the next day. He was in our room until after 10pm Saturday night and back in our room Sunday morning. My experience would have been very poor at an establishment with tattered furniture, peeling paint, sunburnt signage, and very dated everything else, had it not been for the staff.

    Location and plenty of areas to walk dogs The condition of the property is worn out and not maintained well. Ownership isn’t focused spending the dollars needed to keep it in good shape. Room had pee stains and the sofa was chewed up. We left a day early because of this.

    We had a two bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and two bathrooms made it great for family of four travelling. The young man on reception was helpful and nice. The TV in the lounge room didn’t work. I swapped the remotes and even got new batteries from reception. It never worked for the duration of our stay. The kitchen cooking items were limited. I had to ask for a frying pan, tongs and an egg flipper. There was only one other saucepan. The property was clean and spacious and we were very comfortable. The TV didn’t work in the lounge room. The kitchen had limited cooking utensils and no dishwashing powder. None of the windows opened for fresh air I had to leave the door open. The breakfast was basic, but the quality was terrible. Powdered Scrambled eggs you could taste the chemicals in them. The porridge and waffles were good though. All of the plates, cups, bowls and cutlery are all Styrofoam and plastic which is very bad for the environment.

    The worst Sonesta that we’ve been to. We checked in at around 6pm. I called the front desk since to request if we can move to ground floor since my mother in law is old and couldn’t do steps anymore - the staff told us there is no available rooms already as it they’re fully booked which I think they’re not. They said they will be available room the next day and will call us if it’s ready. Guess what? They didn’t call us! And also, there was no crib. I message the hotel 3x about the crib but no response. I called them beforw booking and they said they will have the crib ready in the room the day of check in. Such a bad experience!

The outside also was not well lit. Had I not prepaid we would have found another place to stay and I’ve literally never even changed rooms at a hotel let alone leave it entirely due to the state of the room. It’s too bad as my friends stayed there 9 years ago and thought it was great, and honestly the set up for a family is perfect, but they need to put some serious work into it to get it up to a place I’d ever reconsider staying at.

    Staff here seemed pretty much unwilling to provide any type of housekeeping services. We were told these services are only provided once a week, which is fine, but it’s bizarre to me that you can’t have supplemental housekeeping drop in by request. There wasn’t a mop or other proper cleaning supplies provided for us to clean with, either. It was also really hard to get ahold of front desk staff by phone. The phone in our room seemed pretty much useless, and calling on my cell phone I had to call repeatedly if I wanted to get ahold of anyone. Awful toilet paper and towels in the rooms and we kept having to go to the desk any time we needed replenishments. We will look into other options in Flagstaff whenever we return, I would not stay here again.

There wasn’t a mop or other proper cleaning supplies provided for us to clean with, either. It was also really hard to get ahold of front desk staff by phone. The phone in our room seemed pretty much useless, and calling on my cell phone I had to call repeatedly if I wanted to get ahold of anyone. Awful toilet paper and towels in the rooms and we kept having to go to the desk any time we needed replenishments. We will look into other options in Flagstaff whenever we return, I would not stay here again.

    I truly enjoyed my stay and found the overall experience to be very pleasant. However, I was disappointed by a couple of issues that detracted from the comfort of the visit. The kitchen light flickered continuously when in use, which was frustrating, and unfortunately, only one of the three television remotes was functional. These inconveniences were unexpected and somewhat disruptive. That said, I would still consider returning in the future and would recommend this location to family and friends, with the hope that these concerns are addressed.

The only downside was the couch had an ill fitting couch cover on it - I'm not sure if this was to cover a stain or prevent stains, but it wasn't nice looking or comfortable.     Well…parking is difficult due to so many staying, my room was dirty - it looked ok but then as you settle in, it’s just old, VERY much in need of an update and there were bugs all over my room: spiders and these little black beetles. I had to wipe/disinfect every surface. The stove was soooooo gross - dried and splattered food on the stovetop…I cannot recommend this hotel at all. I travel all over the U.S. and have stayed in countless places and this place? The absolute filthiest. Never again.

    Shower had a slow leak that dripped all night long. I reported to front desk. Room looks run down, duck tape on carpets holding down trim. Stained carpets. Sofas had covers and leather ottoman seems worse for ware. Kitchen was ok, nice while traveling. For a small family ok for short term but would probably make another choice next time in Flagstaff.

    We got checked in and initially liked the room upon walking in but as we tried to settle in, we found that 2 of the 3 TVs were not connected to functioning cable boxes. There was also no hand soap available in the bathrooms. When I went to ask about both downstairs, they said we would be provided with hand soap and then forgot to give me that after some back and forth regarding the TV Situation since maintenance guy was already gone for the day. The hot tub, which was a big draw for me to book here as well was taped off and inaccessible. Not happy with spending this amount of money for basically this room and beds.

    As much as we love staying at sonesta, this place was terrible. First thing we noticed as we walked upstairs to our front door was how filthy the balcony. Flooring had stains everywhere and it look like dried blood everywhere. It looks like it hasn't been scub or clean at all, just very dirty. Not a good way to welcome guests. Inside the room, couch was stained and dirty and torn. Phone wasn't working,several lights wasn't working including the bathroom. Carpet very dirty and stains everywhere, walls were dirty and stained. Never experienced anything like it. We love staying with sonesta every time we are traveling and this time around, we were disgusted and very disappointed staying at this particular hotel.

    My husband and I stayed there for 2 nites to attend my nephew’s graduation at NAU. The room was large with a full kitchen and a sitting area with a fireplace. Or room face the driveway and parking but it was very quiet. The finishes are not high end but adequate. The caulking in the bathroom area was not done well and the room was a little worn but overall, a nice stay. Didn’t try the breakfast out any of the amenities.

    DO NOT STAY HERE! This place was terrible. They charge $5.11 per day for parking. WHY? This is not in New York City or Chicago, it's Flagstaff, AZ. This kind of nickel and diming of customers is absolutely absurd. Also, our room had damages when we entered. Door looked like it was kicked-in and paint was missing, handle was missing from the microwave, curtain falling down, chipped paint in walls, broken couch that could not be sat on without causing more damage(apparently they were aware of this), chewed on furniture and broken bathroom door. They did send the maintenance guy the next morning to fix microwave and curtain but rest was ignored. How could they let this room be rented in it's condition? I have photos of damages. How can you be sure that the hotel wont charge you for someone else's damages? Hotel should mark the damages to acknowledge them at the very least. The only good things were that the sheets and towels were clean and the breakfast was good. They actually put effort into providing a good hot breakfast. I was here for a wedding and I would not stay here again.

    My husband and I stayed with our two small dogs. It was a great place. Large for all 4 of us. Only issue was that the TV volume was not high. It was stuck on low. Also, drawers were dirty and had hair. The pan in the kitchenette was dirty. I let it sit with hot water and soap to clean and it was still very dirty. We did enjoy the dog park.     The carpet was peeling, the chairs were filthy from lots of use and the curtains were all stained in several spots. The kitchen was missing half the cooking items and the dishwasher was pretty gross. Trimmed hair on shelves in the closets and random things wiped on walls and doors. I wasn’t impressed with the experience. Maybe I was expecting too much, but this place definitely didn’t hit the marks for what we paid per night. And paying for parking on top of that seemed odd ($5 per night).
