HYATT house Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area

It was a great location for us as we were boarding the Amtrack in the morning. You go through their parking lot and cross over a walking bridge to get to the station. They have a great food court just down the road fro the hotel and a Trader Joe's 6 minute walk away. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. It had cereal, yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, pancakes, english muffins, bagels and toast. I highly recommend especially if you need a hotel before or after an Amtrak ride.

Everything was modern and the staff was very helpful and attentive.

I will never stay there again. I was having a conversation and the security was called because our voices were too loud. No screaming involved. Also, they rush you out before check out time. I shouldn’t have someone knock on my door to ask me when my check out is at 10am. Awful experience.

The dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. No valet, no bellman, filthy hallways and rooms, flies everywhere, and a strong smell of marijuana throughout the property despite multiple nonsmoking signs. Truly disappointing.

Perfect place to stay before leaving on the train the next day. Front desk asked which floor we would like and which view…very accommodating.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. We found our room overlooking the bay quiet enough. The front desk attendant suggested we upgrade to that side because the side that faces the train can be loud. Having a one bedroom suite was pleasant and spacious and the upgrade fee was reasonable. The only disappointing surprise on our bill was the $27/day parking fee. Seems a bit exorbitant, but it's not like there's options. Only, would have been nice for them to mention that they charged that when we checked in.

The room, hotel lobby, and dining area were VERY clean and pleasant. The breakfast selections were great, lots of fresh fruit choices and some really good yogurt. The room was quiet despite being within such close proximity to the train station. The pool area was closed off this particular time so maybe next time I stay here I can use it. There definitely will be a next time as this was one of the best stays I have had at a hotel within the past couple of years.

This is what you would expect for this hotel. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station. Everything was clean and of high standard. The staff were friendly and helped us get a cab to the airport that was 30 minutes away. This hotel was perfect for our needs.

This hotel was a perfect stop for my family of 6, as it allowed us to have a suite for a reasonable price and only be a 30 minute drive from Muir Woods, which we were heading toward the next morning. The breakfast was excellent, with many choices.

They did not mention that the pool and Jacuzzi are closed and we did not get a chance to use it at all

We really liked everything about this hotel - we had three rooms for a family get together and the larger rooms with full kitchen made it easy to meet up. The price to value is just incredible. Well done!

The hotel is very close to Amtrak station. The hotel is close to bus stops and a lot of shops. The hotel is old, but it is clean. The people works at front desk did look friendly. They never greeted when customers passed by. The breakfast was good, there were many choices. For some reason, the pool was closed.

Staff was so kind and respectful. Cleaning staff were easy to talk to and helpful. This place was recommended by family and I’m so thankful. Wish I knew about this hotel sooner while my son was going to Cal Berkeley. Breakfast was really good too.

Great spacious room. Good breakfast nothing elaborate but good enough. If the front desk person was more welcoming and the parking fee wasn't so outrageous I would give it 5 stars. Taking off one star for those two issues.

I had to leave to catch my train before breakfast was served. Had I chosen to use the kitchen it appeared to have everything I could possibly have needed.

the room had a nice view and was very clean but small with only one chair. The heater/Ac was turned off but the ventilation periodically clicked on during the night disturbing my sleep. The breakfast was ok with plenty of room to sit. I didn't realize I had to pay for parking until I checked out. When I mentioned that upon checking out, I was told the form I signed when checking in stated a parking fee. I thought it was to absolve the hotel of liability for damages made to my car. I didn't mind the fee, but would prefer to have known about it. There was no open dining room/bar but there is a very good food court just a block away.

Pulling up I was discouraged by the outward appearance. Many people hanging around the area and an older looking parking lot. The hotel was fine, lobby and elevator were clean but nothing impressive. The room was clean and outside noise was not a disturbance, good space. Doubt I’d come back especially with kids.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a room with a king size bed and a pull out couch which was perfect for our 2 and 5 year old. We liked the fact that there was a door to separate the rooms. Bonus points for being at the top floor and room on the end, facing the water. Breakfast was decent for it to be free and the staff was very friendly. Location was good for catching public transport as we decided early on that we didn’t want to rent a car (because let’s be honest, driving in California ain’t for the weak or scared ( me)) and gas being so high here. Definitely would stay again!! Only negative thing i will mention is that despite the room being clean, the bathroom smelled like sewage. I’m not one to complain so i didn’t mention it plus the smell went away (or i became nose blind) after a couple days, so that’s why I’m giving it a 4/5 stars.

The property is bounded by train tracks and a highway. No safes in the room. Its fine if you need a quick stay but wouldn’t recommend more than 2 nights.

It was convenient to the train station which was our means of travel. It was also pretty easy to get to San Francisco from there. I loved the beds and pillows - I prefer squishy and it was perfectly soft. The rooms are large and everything was super clean. No complaints.

The room was poorly cleaned, very strong body smell. Very limited breakfast selection. Do not recommend.

It was new, clean and close to the train station. While in my room I could hear people talking (not screaming or even talking loudly, just talking) in the room next door and people walking in the room above me. The wall mounted HVAC unit made a thrumming vibration noise. When I turned it off, I could hear the same noise from the neighboring room

We were catching a Amtrak the next day and the location is perfect. A sky bridge goes from the parking lot to the station. We had an early departure and so skipped breakfast. Very clean room and a very comfortable bed.

Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. The entire place is a bit dingy and odors linger, the bathroom/bedroom layout is awkward and made opening and storing suitcases difficult, and the breakfast was mediocre and always closed early. The location was convenient for getting in/out San Francisco and we appreciated the number of close restaurants and shopping.

Room was great. But apparently we booked on the back side (didn’t know) which faces the train station. She let us know it would be loud and suggested we move to the front. Well of course that cost us an extra fee and gave us one less bed. Not sure how loud the other side would be but seemed like it wasn’t an upgrade to lose a bed and a balcony

For my travelers who are like me. This place was ok for ur family stay. There is a stove if u want to cook. Pleasant no issues but nothing to brag about either. Didn't know chicken sausage was a thing. Cheap toilet paper no ice vending machine the walk to the hotel from the train station is sketchy and gross. Said pool was heated but freezing my kids lips were turning purple.

It was very clean, very comfy bed. Easy to get into San Francisco with Emery go round (free) shuttle to McArthur and then Bart metro. Good experience! Nothing

I needed a room for just one night and this didn’t job but was more than I needed - it had a living room and kitchen. Strangely enough, the light switches were really hard to find! The hotel is nice enough but starting to show a little wear and tear. It was very quiet and clean.

Staff had no regard for the comfort of the guests as they were more concerned with closing early, stacking tables & cleaning floors....they couldn't wait for us to leave 3 minutes after closing....coffee & some food items removed 15 minutes before closing Awoke by barking dog all 3 nights of our stay....even went down to desk ....they said they would talk to resident....Don't think that happened. The general attitude of most staff was they were too busy to get the job done to satisfy the customer. People this is not the Hyatt tradition for which we are accustomed

Overall it’s a good place. During my stay, they lost cable network , and the TV was not available. The location of the property is great!

The location is near the bay and short distance from Berkeley university. The suite is clean, spacious and comfortable and the included breakfast has many options with fresh fruit including berries. Unfortunately we cannot comment about the view from the hotel since we were unfortunate to get a room at lower level right over the entrance canopy, so blocked to view anything. The upper front levels have some views towards the bay.

Staying at Hyatt House was so relaxing. We did not have any issues with our room, which was so clean, comfortable and has a well equiped kitchen. The on site laundry facility was handy since our stay was 10 nights. Each morning, the breakfast was phenomenal. Very friendly and helpful staff from the front desk to housekeeping. We would definitely stay here again on future visits. Thank you Hyatt!

At end of parking lot is pedestrian bridge over tracks to Amtrack station. (City elevator didn’t work, so had to take luggage up a couple flights.). Also off parking lot is Public Market with great selections of food. Food court style with a few bars. Perfect for amtrack access.

Room on a high floor facing the Bay was excellent. Location adjacent to the Emeryville AMTRAK station was ideal for our travel plans. This hotel is understaffed and the basic accessibility thru the doors is terrible. The sensors on the doors were not working and it was difficult to operate with luggage. An elderly disabled person could not get assistance with her luggage or getting to her room. Luckily a kind hearted fellow guest and former Boy Scout (are you ever a former Boy Scout) went out to the parking lot, got her luggage and assisted her up to her room.

The room was nice, good layout. However, the hotel air conditioning units were very loud, they constantly turned on and off throughout the night and they kept waking me up.

Breakfast was solid. Cleanliness was 4.5; room was very comfortable and quiet.

We had a 1bedroom Suite with 2 queen beds on the 7th floor! The view of the Bay Bridge and the city was spectacular at night! The beds are comfortable, rooms very clean. Breakfast was great. This stay was to be close enough to Oakland airport & enjoy a nice side of town only 15 minutes away! We would definitely book again.

The bathroom didn’t have a proper extractor. I don’t understand why hotels don’t prepare the rooms according to the number of people they have on the reservation. It’s so simple to leave beforehand enough towels for each person on the reservation and the extra bedding for the sofa, but no. We always have to call and ask for this basic items. The breakfast is good with enough tables. Friendly staff.

Nice people, nice room, nice breakfast, convenient location just off the highway. We were concerned about potential noise when we checked in because the hotel was full, and our room overlooked the railroad tracks nearby. But with the help of a white noise app, we had no trouble with noise, from inside or outside the hotel. Would stay again (but maybe would ask for a room on the side away from the railroad tracks).

I rang the bell twice - no response from front desk so I had to walk to the front of the hotel with much luggage. The staff at check-in and checkout seemed like they’d rather do somewhere else. Room was patient and very clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable.. unfortunate experience with front desk staff - especially considering the price. Quite a bit more than normal for some unknown reason. And to consider an alternative for my next trip

I have never had a problem checking in an hour or two early, not here, pretty sure house keepers did not start work until noon. Also saw a lot of people checking out very late during my 3 hours in the lobby...hope they all got charged!

Always a pleasure staying here. Balcony with views of San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge, parts of Tiburon, and the bay.

Room was in excellent condition.. had a decent stay.. door key card worked off and on the first two days of my stay.. had key cards reset on day two. Also u being a third party I was not given a receipt upon request…

The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in at a hotel for a long time. Check in staff was wonderful and showed me around when I needed it. Breakfast was good for hotels.

Nice room didn’t hear traffic

Our son’s keys were missing from the room. It could have been that the cleaners swiped them off when cleaning. When we asked the front desk if they had lost and found they said no, which I find that hard to believe because 100% people lose/ leave stuff behind. They had us waiting for over 40mins asking the cleaning personnel to tell us at the end nothing was found.

This was a very pleasant experience. Great breakfast and staff so nice and plenty of parking.

The Emeryvill Hyatt House is an excellent choice to stay for a SF Bay Area excursion given its central location and proximity to the Amtrak station. We came to see a concert at the nearby Greek Theater on the campus of UC Berkeley. We were able to find great nearby eateries and shops with a broad range of different choices to eat and places to find all sorts of things one would want to find without the difficulty of parking that you find elsewhere in the Bay Area. The friendliness of and the service by the hotel staff was excellent too. Highly recommend this as a place to stay when in the Bay Area especially if you travel by train.

breakfast wasn’t good

We stayed two nights before heading to Lake Tahoe. Hotel was nice, good location away from chaos of San Francisco but could get into town easily just across bridge. Lots of shopping and food options near by. Would stay again if in town.

Great breakfast.

Great property. Large room with multiple beds and separate bedroom. Kitchen was great for extended stay for a couple of easy meals. Target, mall and ikea less than a mile. Full breakfast was great. Would definitely book again. Need a car for going to the sites.

Friendly staff & clean room. We walked to Trader Joe’s from hotel. And a food court was across the street. Easy walk to train station - stairs & elevator to cross over to the train station.

A homeless man was sleeping in the elevator this morning. He was polite.

Hotel was excellent in every way. Great walkable location. Room and entire hotel common areas were clean. Breakfast was good. There was occasional sound of the nearby rail system but it didn’t bother me. Would stay here again with pleasure.

Hyatt House Emeryville has the very best customer service. The Assistant General Manager was on hand to help us out in every little way after a planning error had us there on the wrong night. Beyond that - great location, clean and spacious room with a bay view balcony, and a glorious hot tub.

For the 6 nights i stayed there, the Hyatt house was comfortable, quiet, and luxurious.

Enjoyed a very nice stay here. The room was clean and very nice. The neighborhood is walkable with nice dining and shopping.

Only dislike was the train noise. Hotel is in front of the Emeryville train station.

The breakfast is great. The rooms are fine. The only issue is the BART line nearby.

Overall great stay, convenient location and it was easy to get into the city. The pillows were not comfortable and would suggest changing those out, otherwise an excellent stay.

Great stsy

Place is a bit outdated and the breakfast is pretty basic. Great for larger families because of the larger rooms, but I would choose Hyatt place across street next time.

Some facilities and furnitures are not friendly because of sharp edges and angles... Very painful if you are not careful with those strange design of furnitures in public areas and in the room.

Great rooms. Bed was a bit stiff, but all around good stay.

It was convenient to the train station, so for that reason it worked.

This was such a a convenient location near the train station and multiple restaurants. The pool and work out areas were lovely!

The suite with king bed was roomy and more like a little apartment. Has 2 separate rooms. (Living room style with couch -!: pull out bed. And like a bedroom with lots of room and closet space. Bathroom roomy.) Has a fully working stove kitchen and sink, along with big fridge and microwave. Was able to connect my Xbox to the tv no problem. Front desk even had a toothbrush for me free because I forgot mine. Emeryville go around bus takes you right to the bart station. Usbc and usb ports for charging. Definitely would stay here again, very modern and comfortable

Maintenance entered the room when the “do not enter “ sign was on the door knob. All I got was “ we’re sorry “

Our room was comfortable and clean, food potions were sufficient. It would have been nice to have suggestions for food options in the area. Upon checking out we found our car had been hit in the parking lot and we were parked right in front of the entrance to the hotel. We were told there are not any cameras in the parking lot. No happy about that!!!!!

Walking distance to train station

My stay was great. The breakfast had variety. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Just the hot tub didn’t make bubbles but it was still hot

Very accommodating, excellent breakfast.

The room was well equipped with utensils, dishes, and most common needs. The full size fridge and complete kitchen (stove-oven & microwave too) allowed for all of the home cooking needs. The sleeping space was cozy and our room had two queens which was nice (and seemed to be hard to find in other hotels). My only “not so great” statement would be that the east side of the hotel is above the train tracks. While it wasn’t overwhelming, there were a few horns and that sound experience from time to time. 25 dollars for parking seemed a bit high too given the going rate for parking around the area.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in! So roomy, comfortable, quiet, room darkening curtains, full kitchen, amazing bathroom!! I wanted to move in!!

Business stay. The reviews said the hotel was very clean and we agree. The room was very clean the bed was clean, comfortable. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. It’s walking distance from quite a few restaurants and some shopping which is nice.

Abdul informed me of the various perks and hotel amenities during my stay, which was most appreciated. Thus, he shared the various food options and shopping nearby. Abdul set the tone for a most memorable stay during my first trip to California. THANK YOU, Abdul, for your kindness and professionalism.

I would seek out other hotels in the area and only stay here if absolutely necessary.

It had a train station right in back of the property, so noisy with train horns.

Right next to Amtrak where we disembarked. Plenty of food options nearby. Easy bus to downtown San Francisco.

Staff was exceptional and very helpful. I came into Emeryville by Amtrak and the location was perfect. Also very convenient for shopping and dining options. I will be staying here on my next visit.

Excellent free breakfast buffet. Close proximity to international food court for other meals. Clean facility and friendly staff. Convenient location, but if you want to walk toward Oakland, be prepared to climb numerous stairs over the railroad tracks.

The Hyatt House was very nice the front desk staff were very friendly, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and in walking distance to the train station.

Need bigger laundry bags or more than one. Need more waste baskets, not pans to cook on stove top. It would be better have an oven instead stovetop.

The Hyatt House is a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and the room we had faced the bay, which we requested, for additional fee from the Expedia priced room, which faced the train station. It was near some stores and walkable mall. The breakfast bar had the typical eggs, sausage and hotcakes but it had the full complement of cereals and fruits.
