Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham El Paso

We have stayed here many times over the years, but this last stay will be our last unless they remodel the property. Our room this time had a funky smell, the carpet in the hallway is disgusting. It’s time to update this hotel.

Property is horrible dirty from the entrance to everything including the room, old dirt carpet and smells horrible dirty. Air conditioning with a very loud sound, room entrance light not working, one lamp light not working, only one used not new toilet paper. I checked out one day earlier since this was a disgusting environment. Will like a refund for the second night.

The kitchenette Back elevator didn't work, had to carry all our luggage to the 3rd floor and then go down 3 different hallways all the way to the end to find our room. Pool and hot tub didn't work. Got to our room, there was no light in the livingroom area and the lamp was broken. It was also 83°F in our room. Air conditioner was looked at by employee and didn't work. There was no extra rooms available to move to had so had to cancel hotel stay after extending it an extra day. Still haven't received refund for second day. Also had a weird smell through the whole hotel and building looks really beat up on the inside.

The hotel is in desperate need of upgrades. The carpet is old, the sink had cracks in it, as did the tub. The pool and jacuzzi were out of service, and the patio just look neglected. I won’t be staying at this hotel ever again.

The water pressure in the shower is not good, and I had to get my key fixed 3 times throughout my stay. The pool wasn't open but there was nothing on the website that stated it was closed.

It was quiet, clean and comfortable. We left very early to make the drive to Austin, yet someone still met us at the counter to take our room keys. I would have liked my room to be a little closer to my daughter’s, but it was alright.

Overall the property is dirty and dated. The room was so dirty I found personal items from previous guest in my room. I tried to talk with one of the manager but the manager was dismissing and rude to me because he wanted to keep having his personal phone call.

There was no hot water when we showed

Pool and hot tub were drained and not in use, the room itself could have been cleaner, and the overall property needs a refresh/remodel it's all old broken stuff like it hasn't been well maintained. Also, killed a roach in the bathroom. Not a good look. The breakfast was cold I couldn't finish it. But the stay was ok. 5 out of 10 should have been cheaper for what was offered.

Rooms are a little outdated. The hotel is very close to the airport. We have stayed here multiple times.

Great room, staff, breakfast, parking.

Checking in was fast and easy, the location is very convenient. Close to restaurants, some within walking distance. Parking was plentiful and safe. Only disappointment was the breakfast, started late and went downhill from there, coffee was not hot or fresh. Otherwise the staff was courteous and professional.

The hotel is sorely in need of a renovation. We occupied 2 separate rooms and bother were similar states of wear. It just felt dingy and old. The linens were clean and fresh, but the flooring desperately needs replacing. It met our needs, but we will not be back.

I received a welcome text asking me if there was anything I needed. I replied, saying my shower was lukewarm at best. No response. I spoke with the front desk. I was told to let the water run for a while (this is a city in the desert). No other options offered. There were water stains and “dirt” smudges in the bathroom. The room was dingy and outdated. The air conditioner rattled all night. It was cheap and close to the airport. If that’s your top priority, it might be worth it. Had I known it was this poor, I would have spent an extra $50 and booked a better hotel.

Pool was shut down. They stop refilling hot breakfast items 40 minutes before the end of service. Sinks are cracked, exposed pressboard in rooms, overall needs updating. Shampoo barely works. The room was clean and staff were kind. Just maybe more of a 2.5 star hotel.

I left this residence 5 Minutes after checking in , due to the cleanliness of the hotel and the sink and I didn’t feel comfortable washing my Infants bottles in the room, I still have yet to receive the refund I was told by staff it wasn’t going to charge me but it did and i still have yet to receive my money back

Will never stay again. The staff that checked me in are helpful. I asked for Ada room. It was not ada in the bathroom. The room was so small I couldn’t use my wheelchair so I had to use crutches the entire stay. They didn’t provide a seat to shower or a bench or a stand up shower. The pillows were small. The patio had wasps. The entire place needs updated. The elevator rail was broken, holes that needed repair. The wall and ceiling in the room need painting. The vending machine out of order. No mention of the pool being shut down which is why I rented there and of course the pool jacuzzi is closed till who knows when.

Only the location , the pool and spa didn’t even have water and the grounds were trash! Only thing I liked was the location and the bed was comfortable

The bathroom was very large and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is very outdated, the staff need to take more time cleaning. We found false eyelash clusters throughout the room, and the office chair looked like someone was trying to eat it. I messaged ahead about an early terminal lift but was informed on location that there is no option before 0700.

Everything was great, as it always is. We were a bit disappointed that the pool and jacuzzi were out of order but otherwise it was another great stay.

Broken vending machines, extensive incidentals list with prices but little to no incidentals in inventory. Staff never at the counter. Thread bare outside signage. Requested no maid service, they cleaned room anyway. Everything in room had sticky surfaces.

Location is within walking distance from the El Paso airport, so very convenient for airplane travelers. Hotel is very reasonably priced. Staff is helpful. The usual amenities were available. Hotel was reasonably clean. I would note that the area seems to be a bit dodgy. One of the Hotel shuttle drivers was definitely armed. The hotel is a little rundown with minor maintenance issues, such as a sink draining very slowly and runs in the carpet in the hallway.

This is the best value for the location you can find. Compared to the other hotels nearby, this is a great option. Facilities look tired but they still deliver, and they give you free breakfast!

I really like the online pre-check option that this hotel chain uses, it makes for an extremely quick front desk interaction. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they accommodated a request for extended parking with no issues. Room was a lot bigger than expected, had a separate "living room" and kitchen from the bedroom section. Beds were comfortable. If you're travelling light you can definitely walk from the hotel to the airport and take about 10 minutes or so. Two restaurants on premise and multiple national chains within 2 large blocks. For whatever reason the hot water was not available until after 4 AM. We had a very early flight, so we had to take quick showers, by the time water started coming out hot we were ready to go.

The location to I 10 The property is down sliding from cheap to no repair. Tiles missing or falling off the walls, Duct tape barely holding a panel up in one elevator. Stains in elevator corners, carpet stains. Breakfast poorly supplied, running low most pf the breakfast times. Attendant spending more time on her cell phone instead of attending to guest needs and resupplying the food. Room bathroom dirty, toilet seat broken and sliding off, sink stopper cap broken off. Mattress has a large wallowed hole on one side, off setting the other side of the mattress by 3” or more. Microwave and fridge stopped working in the middle of the night, didn’t keep anything even cool to start with. Outlets loose, plug prongs not staying plugged in, fire hazards.

I asked for amendment on my reservation and I was told very rude the have no rooms available: SO i crashed and spend the night sleeping in my truck I was too tire to drive around looking for another Hotel, the following day I was lucky and coordinated all my appointments for the same day by COB I called the hotel and Canceled my reservation. I will be back in a couple of weeks but I am going to use another Hotel. Your particular Hotel left a sour note. Thanks and very sorry .......

Our toilet in our room did not flush, there was no conditioner or body wash in our room either. When we spoke to morning manager about the issue he didn’t seem to care

The doors worked and the water was hot. The TV worked. Bed was ok. The little refrigerator had no freezer, was missing a bar to hold the milk in the door, water sprayed out of the shower to the floor from the leaking nozzle, the microwave didn't work, light bulb was out and needing replacing in the lamp stand in the corner, the sink in the bathroom was cracked, when you ran the cold water too fast the whole sink shook violently, the drain was plugged so the water filled immediately and drained slowly, there was no screen in the window to keep the bugs out, left at 5:45 am so no breakfast available. Asked for a room away from the airport noise, got a room facing the airport noise.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I didn’t receive the room I originally booked—instead, I was given a smoking room, which was completely unacceptable. On top of that, there was a terrible sewage smell that made the stay unbearable and even made my daughter feel sick.The room was also located far from everything, making it very inconvenient. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and I will not be returning.

The room was antiquated, it was hit-or-miss when to turn on a light IF they had lightbulbs in the sockets. The breakfast, and the serving lady, were the ONLY saving grace. The food was hot and delicious and the attendant had more customer service skill than the front desk clerk.

I am now out even more money from having to book a second hotel, and didn’t even get the rewards to make up for the downgrade at least?!

Doors by the pool didn’t lock just safety was a issue, room was very run down and did not look like the website, we had to have our ac cleaned so it would cool properly, stains all over the walls, needs a major update.

The hotel was clean however I booked this hotel because of the outdoor pool pictures and how nice the weather was supposed to be and when I got there the pool was closed for repairs. Nowhere when I was booking this hotel did it say that the pool would not be available. I travel to ElPaso once a month and will not select this hotel again. I feel that was deceptive to not have informed me that there would be no pool available

Was very clean beds comfirtable and quiet,area safe a d walk to several good restaurants, Cattle Baron was excellent and next doot as was Applebbe's though I did not eat there. Hotel has airport shuttle,microwave fridge, decebt breakfast n coffe 24/ 7 .3 story with mumtiole elevators. Area was safe and convention cebyer across street. Near by is a military base. Easy to access on Airline road and many shops a d eateries very close by along that multi lane street.

Went there for a get away with the wife and staff was sitting in the back room on his phone. The place looks like it was remolded but still has an old smell. Bathroom was outdated.

My room was not cleaned in three days and they allow the cleaning staff to take food from the breakfast area and by the time we get there most things are gone. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms are a little worn down for example the mattresses have a sunken spot at the foot of the bed and next to the night tables from tired travelers plunking their butts down once they get into the room. This requires sleeping in the center of the bed where there are no sunken spots. At least one side exit on the first floor does not close and latch. This creates security concerns

This property needs a complete update. Some halls smelled musty. Our sink was cracked, the faucet was loose. The lobby is the only area that appeared to have a refresh. It was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience to stay in such a rundown property. We were there just to sleep to catch an early morning flight. Had I had more time or two nights booked, I would have demanded a cancellation and refund.

This property needs a complete update. Some halls smelled musty. Our sink was cracked, the faucet was loose. The lobby is the only area that appeared to have a refresh. It was a very disappointing and unpleasant experience to stay in such a rundown property. We were there just to sleep to catch an early morning flight. Had I had more time or two nights booked, I would have demanded a cancellation and refund.

Yes, great breakfast. Front staff is excellent! Jose, Ben, and the front desk female working Jan 14 26 are all superb. Breakfast outstanding, large variety food, so glad they added oatmeal too. Delicious! Poor Shuttle services are no longer available from 11pm to 7am. Big problem. Most of my flights leave prior at 6am with checking 2 hours prior, I take a 4am shuttle. I always book Hawthorne because of excellent shuttle service. Now, this is a major problem, you no longer provide the services needed. Also, what happened to your evening happy hour? I am very disappointed in your recent changes but I applaud your excellent staff!

Room is outdated, carpet dirty, ( wear slippers,please) wallpaper pealing. Rooms rundown. Comfy bed.

It took over 40mins for them to find the reservation. I only had about four hours to sleep and then go to the airport for my next flight. Lost one hour waiting around for the reservation to show in their system. Not convenient at all.

Coffee all day. Breakfast OK considering a hotel. The room was clean. Only thing I disliked was the bathroom shower, it could be a bit larger, removing the bathtub would be best. Very little exercise equipment, not worth having.

Carpet is dirty and moldy. Very outdated. Bathroom sink was cracked in several locations. Exit doors didn’t lock very well, card reader not working properly.

Upon arrival the appearance of the outside of the hotel was not updated, when we got to our room as soon as we opened the door it reeked of something someone cooked (and continued to smell like that for the whole stay), the room was disgusting. It had mold all over the bathroom and the couch was filthy, also the A/C did not work. When we informed the front desk they said “oh yeah that probably doesn’t work I’m gonna be honest with you”. Overall a terrible experience. Would not recommend staying here.

Room could definitely used a remodel. Carpet is horrible in the room and throughout the hallways, bath vanity was perviously resurfaced and now it’s cracked and chipping. Obvious leaks have occurred with no repairs done to the walls or ceiling, the beds feel as if they are going to collapse when you sit on them. Now I know why it was such a great day but I much rather stay at the Marriott across the street again. I won’t be reserving a room at this hotel in the future.

Very outdated, we were there a week and our room never was serviced, the tub was not draining, we informed the front desk twice and did not get resolved, and to top it off the light from the bathroom went out. First time staying here, will definitely be the last.

The front desk was very helpful in finding us one of our rooms to check in early for our business meeting. The business center was perfect for scanning and emailing to our associates. The shuttle was very convenient and easy to use. The facility itself is used, but clean and efficient. Met our needs completely.

Everything has been as I wanted and expected EXCEPT the airport shuttle. I have a very early flight and the airport shuttle isn't available until after my flight leaves. I missed the operating hours of the shuttle on the website, or it isn't posted there.

The only reason I am giving 2 stars is the staff. They were accomedating and friendly and was the only thing saving this hotel from a 1 star review. After we checked in and got to our room which was a suite, I immediately saw how filthy the room was with stains on the couch and the carpet, cracks where the walls met the ceiling. The balcony door would open, but was broken and was difficult to close. When I went down to the hotel desk and asked for a different room the attendant was very helpful and found us another suite. When we walked into this room it was much of the same with stains, cracks and the broken balcony door, but the thing that made us leave this hotel immediately was the mold in the bathroom along the shower walls. I went to done the hotel desk one last time to ask them to cancel our reservation and requested a refund as the room had mold in the bathroom. The attendant was very empathetic and cancelled our reservation and processed a refund. We are still waiting for the refund and I hope to hear from the property soon to confirm reversing the charge on my card.

The first room the toilet was leaking. So the Staff gave a key to another room,The second room was not cleaned properly the night stand was sticky the mirrors were dirty. The air conditioning made a loud noise every time it turned on. I have stayed at this Hotel before and the room was very nice. Not sure why this stay ,both of the rooms were in bad conditions.

If you’re flying out of El Paso with an early flight, stay here. Less than 5 minutes to the airport. We left our room at 7:45 and were at the gate by 8:15.

I got the deluxe king room, and they gave me a room the size of a closet. It was dirty. All of the soap dispensers were empty. And there was hair on the tub wall from someone else. That place wasn’t properly cleaned. They only serviced my room one time out of the four days I was there. And that one time that it was serviced I came back to my room, and I found this tall Topo Chico hard seltzer on the windowsill. I’m not a drinker and I also don’t know where it came from other than the cleaning staff? I have no idea. I figured not to say anything because the following day I was going to check out anyway. Terrible place and I will never stay there again.

The maintenance and cleaning staff were friendly and seemed to be doing their best with what they had, but the front desk staff were never present when I went down to check in or check out. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed here off and on for years, but this may be the last time. The rooms are tired and in need of remodel. The breakfast was terrible this time. Coffee was empty every time we went for a refill. They have two waffle irons and no syrup available. No oatmeal. They needed another attendant to help out.

cleanliness: The walls were dirty and the wall paper was falling, the fridge had mold inside. the carpet floors were also peeling off. the Staff: When I arrived one of the front desk agent didn't even tried to welcome me, it was an old person if he doesn't want to work so Don't. I explained the situation to the front desk agent Aguilera at the check out and he told me to contact Expedia for a discount and he will approve it that's it.

Unfortunately we did find a dirty pair of socks in our room which leads us to believe how well did they clean our room. Every time we attempted to go downstairs to speak with staff they were busy and we were not able to address it. We were not aware that there were no USB charging ports in the room so we had to go out in the middle of the night to buy a port to charge our phones. When we also turned on the fan in the bathroom it smelt burnt.

The TV need be updated

The airport shuttle recently reduced hours and is only available between 7am and 11pm. This is a major reduction in services that guests rely on.

The shuttle does not work at early hours and they failed to mention that- which was a reason why we stayed there. The elevator said the last inspection was 5 months past due. The room was small and overall not very clean.

I was hoping I could just post pictures but they won't upload. Our stay was over all comfortable. This hotel is in desperate need of maintenance/updating, however, the AC works, the beds are comfy and the breakfast is good. The staff were all friendly expect for the guy closing the pool early and not replenishing towels. He told us to go to the front desk to ask for them(when he was the front desk and not there) This caused us to look inconsiderate treading water in the building and making it hard on housekeeping because he needed a smoke break ....

The staff was very nice and Josh the night manager was very attentive and courteous. The morning meal was very nice and delicious. The staff puts a lot of pride in preparing the food. I like that they have a shuttle to the airport and it's available when a ride is needed. I look forward to my return and recommend this facility to friends and family.

Roches, the elevator kept getting stuck. The hot water was nonexistent, the halls on the 3rd floor smell like mold and you See roches in the hallway dead. The lobby and the pictures fool you into thinking its going to at least be clean but once you really get into your room u will notice all the issues.

Very outdated, not working lamps, broken lamps, torn couches, crumbs upon entering room, filthy curtains, mold in pool, but mattress was very comfortable to sleep in.

Horrible service, didn’t get any house keeping no new towels blankets even when I asked they still didn’t give me none when they said they would bring it up to my room. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is the nice pool

My room was meh. The walls of the bathroom had been repaired it looked like they did the bare minimum. Breakfast was lack luster. Scrambled eggs were so dry and stick to the bottom of the pan. The air conditioner worked real well.

There was hair everywhere in the bathroom. The hottub and pool were full of hair and leaves. The service..... oh my goodness don't even get me started. No coffee anytime I went to the lobby and when I tried to make some my self, because the guy was busy, I got yelled at. The "hot" breakfast was cold and gross. It was just all around bad. I'll never visit this hotel again.

Elevators in the back dont work properly. Makes louds sounds and took longer than usual to open. Had issues with keys, even tho we asked for handicapped ♿️ room near parking, they send us to the back of the building, broken elevators and on the 3rd floor.

The parking lot was very clean and I felt a very good sense of security.

Room was very small. Mini-Refrigerator had an ice block so big the door would not close all the way. No hot water in shower, when I told front desk clerk she said "no one else is complaining so why is it just your room". At that point I asked to be checked out and found another hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Lots of sketchy people in the area during the daytime. At night there is a security guard that drives around the parking lot of all the hotels and business in the same parking area.

This hotel is old, outdated, dirty and poor service. This is the worst hotel I have been in, other than the location and parking I have nothing positive to say.

I had booked the second stay in advance and couldn’t get a full refund, otherwise I wouldn’t have returned. The hotel is noisy, the rooms and building are outdated, and overall upkeep seems poor. The cleaning staff were kind, but that was the only positive. I won’t be staying here again.

The hot breakfast items are overcooked and the laundry facility has two washing machines and dryers however one dryer is non-operative. The front desk also does not provide any quarters. You have to drive somewhere to go get it yourself. Don’t plan on washing your clothes there.

Loved the different options for breakfast compared to alot of other hotels at this price rate. The seasoned home fries were my favorite i had them everyday with breakfast. Staff was all really nice. My first time ever using an airport shuttle service and both drivers to and from airport were both very nice as well!

Property was dirty , tv and phones were not working requested to be moved to another room .. same issues in the 2nd room , bathroom was not working properly. The front office said they could do nothing because they didn't have a maintenance working after hours and was given a plunger. We stayed for 3 nights and our room was not cleaned not once . Very unhappy with out stay at this hotel

The carpet was old and dirty, the toilet paper holder was broken off, water stains on the ceiling, old musty smell, paint was supposed to be white but it was turning brown. Bathroom sink and tub was old and cracking. The room was super small and old looking. Fridge didn’t work at all, I had to take my meds to the front desk to have them refrigerate it for me, which they were super nice and helpful.

It was very old not kept up the wallpaper was killing off the walls there was holes in the wall where you could tell furniture had been mounted at one point that was lines drawn all over carpets were stained and bleached they look like they were maybe 40 years old? The pool used to have like a waterfall is what it looked like That's just barren now it was really disappointing because the lobby was really nice The people who worked there were very nice but I had stabbed by a crackhead written all over it.

After first night, asked for room to be vacuumed, nothing happened. Next day asked again, nothing. Very frustrating. In our time there, Hallways have never been vacuumed. Rooms were outdated but adequate. Why would Wyndham allow this beautiful property to be so run down Shame.

Hotter didn’t work in my original room. They ended up moving us a few rooms down. it’s just the inconvenience of it all.

The check in was a breeze, courteous at the front desk at that time at about 6pm. The rooms looked like they had not been vacuumed as there was food on the floor from the previous. The cable was not connected, called the front desk at around 12 am to ask if they could assist with connections was told there was no one there until 8am asked if could be moved to another room and was told there was nothing available. Husband had to lift and move the heavy dresser the TV was on to find it was not connected, finding the cord and connecting it. Not helpful at all.
