Smell bad

I never leave negative reviews, but this motel was just the cherry on top. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay at not even for a NIGHT. It stinks like Cigarets, It definitely wasn’t cleaned before they checked it out to us, since another persons UNDERWEAR & SOCKS were hanging on the shower curtain. To top it off, there was cigaret burns on the bed sheets. SUCH A DISGUSTING PLACE. Do not spend your money here. If you have children with you, DO NOT STAY HERE it smells horrible and it is not sanitary at all.

A plain and simple lodging for sleeping and resting that was the lowest price point for two days. Clean, uncluttered, freeway close, tv, air. Best part is the concierge at the front desk. Very friendly, very helpful, explained the charges and procedures very thoroughly and clearly. I’ll be back.

Room was alright, about what you would expect for the price. Parking lot was sketchy. Whole neighborhood around it was too. Amenities were few, a towel and about it.

My first impression it looked a little rough parking was a little sketchy found the front desk person in the liquor store that’s connected to the hotel but once we got our key card the rooms was clean and wash room was easy accessible, place was quiet at night

The Valley Motel in El Cajon CA is about 15 miles East from downtown San Diego. It's been around forever and the structure shows it but for the cheaper price I'm in! There is parking around back and out of sight, a gas station on the same lot and a liquor store adjacent to the motel as well as a drive through Mexican fast food restaurant across the street from where you will stay. There are so many coats of paint that you can't be certain what the main color is but, it works well for insulation 😍! Reserving the room through Expedia I got it for nearly $70 whereas the other establishments were well over a hundred per night and that always works for me 👍. So, what are you waiting for? First of all the front desk had the worse and negative attitude. Even on the phone she was rude to other people when asking for directions. A customer was asking her better directions how to get to the place, she told her co-worker. I don't have time for this, "to be giving directions". She refuse to give us a none smoking room at the rate listed on line. She did not show us the room with out first me signing all the documents, but she did offer to show the room to another family with a baby. She said I just talked to my boss, and he doesn't want to give you another room unless you pay higher rate. This is discrimination, you don't pick and choose customers to service. She needs to take some customer service, discrimination and fair-housing classes. I refused to take a room with the strongest smells of cigar and smell of roaches. I told her she can keep my money and make sur to give my deposit back as the room was never used. If their business is making money, they can keep it and put it on the biggest hole they have.

I booked 2 rooms smoking room and the motel upgraded me 2 beautiful rooms. One of the rooms was spacious with Fire tv. My 2nd room was nice as well. That room was smaller and it had cable. The cable had gone out and I called the night manager. She fixed my cable with 10 minutes. Overall, the staff was great!

The bad: Dirty and worn down room. Laminate flooring peeling up badly. Bathroom dirty. Furniture glued together in multiple places. Room stunk like cigarettes, cigarette burns on literally everything. curtains ziptied on rod. Only 1 outlet worked in the whole room. Didn't feel safe in parking lot.

The people at the front desk are the nicest people in all of California. Hotel is not in great cosmetic shape but for $80-$100 night what did you expect. 5/5 place.

The room was nice and big. It has wood floors and a microwave. The manager made sure it was quiet at night. Overall, a nice, restful stay.

the windows of the adjacent room and mine shared a balcony and it would be so easy for anyone to just come in thru the balcony window. I have too many belongings with me that are important thus trip and did not leave the room at all for lack of trust. Also when waiting to check in (check in is 3pm although there was no one else waiting to check in- they only book rooms in second floor and there's no elevator) No one offered to help with my luggage/ but they did come bang on the door twice and wouldn't say anything til I opened the door. A man screamed at the top of his lungs so many profanities that it got scary. I think it was the owner or a worker there. I cleaned their floor up a bit. Cheap TV/ not smart.

This property is one of the quietest I have ever stayed at. The staff are quick to respond if there are any issues with your room or other customers. I felt safe leaving my car and the rooms are good sized. Overall a great experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by this motel. I pulled in late last night hoping for a restful sleep. The staff member was professional and courteous. She got me checked in quickly, gave me my keycard and the wi-fi information and I was good to go. The room was large and comfortable. I made good use of the microwave after my hot shower. Thank you guys for a great stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying here and I had a great time. The rooms are huge with good sized tvs, laminate flooring, and queen sized beds. It is obvious that they really care about their customers. The room has all the necessities, including a shower, a microwave, and a mini fridge. There is even a little area where you could set up a coffee maker if you travel with one as I do. It was a great stay at a great price. I will be back!

I had a great stay. The rooms are really big, the beds are comfortable, and there was even a fridge and microwave for my use. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was a great value for the price. I was surprised by how relaxing my stay was.

This motel is amazing! From the moment I first walked in, I was made to feel as if I was a cherished family member. They got me checked in quickly, made sure I had the wi-fi information and knew who to call if anything was wrong. I will definitely be staying again as the rooms were huge, clean, and comfortable.

This is the worst place I have ever been to. It was late in the night and wanted to stay in a place for shower and deep sleep but I couldn’t. Because there were lots of cockroaches and towels smelled so bad. Just left in the morning early as soon as possible. Check the review before you go. They are real.

It was an amazing stay fro me and my family as it was short notice we were able to get in and check in with out any problems the staff was amazing at getting me checked in. Checking out was amazing very family oriented and professional kinds and welcoming. Will return to rent again

I love my stay here everytime! Very excited to try out the deluxe room next time. The staff were attentive as always and more than willing to help in any way at all. The employees make the hotel a little pocket of sunshine.

Room was pretty bare bones. The hot and cold taps on the sink are backwards, so hot was in the right. Smoke alarm had been taken town and was not present. Floor was pretty sticky. For the price, I wasn't upset, but for sure could use some paint and new flooring under the bed.

Never stayed at this hotel. Booked through third party they ran my card over the phone without my approval and put several deposit charges. Meanwhile I never even was able to stay at the property because no one was at the front desk when going to check in. They refuse to refund my money and deposit for a service I never receive. They are a credit card scam! BEWARE DONT STAY! Unless your desperate but still then don’t give your card details.

I have stayed here at the valley in on more than one occasion, I have two dogs and they never charge for a pet. The rooms are very spacious and the staff is Always very friendly

Another employee was incredibly rude from the outset. And seemed to derive pleasure from doing so. Very strange. Owners seem nice. Rooms could use a Lil more detail when being cleaned. Policies and rules are seemingly arbitrary. Semi automatic gunfire was alarming...not sure if anyone called the police, one employee stated "its not my responsibility, im not the one working right now" Unreal.

Theres alot to do in the area! This hotel was perfect for a warm nights rest after walking around all day! :)

Valley Motel will always be my go-to location! They make you feel welcomed beyond belief :)

Ive stayed before with some friends! My stay this time around was just as good if not better than before, the staff are nice and the hotel is quiet. They have a store nearby that was convenient, the check in was fast and easy!
