    Most of staff were friendly, the breakfast was nice and the kids enjoyed the pool. 1: Didn’t like staying in pet friendly room but it was the only king size bed they had left. 2: Also next door they were having something and were revving up cars really loud till late.

    Breakfast was great. Room smelt nice upon arrival. Check in time was too late to allow us time to change and get to ballgame on time so we had to pay to check in early which was not necessary because room was ready without staff having to do anything special for the charge. Also, the commode was really, really low to floor which made it hard to get down and up.

    The room was decent and comfortable. As advertised. A fair price compared to other restaurants and breakfast was provided. We had an issue with a loud "neighbor" so they gave us a different room in a quieter area. Random people arguing at the hotel front as soon as we pulled in. Random people hanging around hotel at different times didn't appear to be staying there. The staff were professional but didn't give top notch customer service. The breakfast didn't give too many great options but the waffles were good.

    We had just driven 14½ hours straight through - stopping only for fuel and fast meal!! However, not knowing if we were going to be able to pull off that drive, and stay somewhere along the way, I had NOT booked ahead of time! What I am MORE THAN HAPPY to PRAISE is the VERY WONDERFUL, KIND, GEM of a LADY who checked us in at the front desk!!! 5⭐ for her alone She 1st helped us with checking the Hotels "BEST RATE"vs one I had pulled up on Expedia... Not only to get the BEST price, but when we visited 2 years ago, I MEANT to book here, BUT accidentally booked the La Quinta 30 min away!🤦‍♀️ She told me their rate, then I asked here to verify if the Expedia room was the same. It was! It put us in the EXACT ROOM she was looking at. THEN I asked if they had 'Early Check-In' and HALLELUJAH they did!! So, with the money I saved using Expedia, it more than paid for the EARLIEST of early check-in times!! Shortly thereafter we unloaded, washed upstairs & extremely comfortable nestled into our beds for a good long nap. Refreshed and renewed before visiting MY AMAZING FAMILY there for a few nights before heading off to Charlotte.

    The only issue was the Hot Breakfast. I stayed 4 days and the food was the same each morning. Eggs, Sausages and Biscuits with Gravy. Cereal and waffles. It was hot and fresh no doubt but variety would have made better. I still rate it 4 out of 5. Overall a very great stay. I recommend this hotel.

    The rooms were clean and decent for the price. Staff is helpful. Breakfast isn’t great, but it’s free! They have an indoor pool! The fitness room is kind of a joke, but it’s there if you don’t have a membership at another club. There’s a Mexican night club next-door that gets very loud on the weekends. But all in all It was a great place to stay for the money.

    This feels more like a highway motel. It needs refurbishment urgently. The breakfast is horrible: felt like powdered scrambled eggs - in paper plates. Old carpets. Smell in rooms. And they charge for giving you the room check-in at noon even when they have availability.

She was talking and I realized that she wasn't talking to me, that she was actually on a call(ear buds). The call seem to be hotel related. A quick "I'll be right with you or I apologize for the delay" would have been sufficient. But the wait time was very noticeable. Room was clean but mattress was too firm. But all in all, I was pleased.

    The visit itself was fine. However, I left my clothes in the closet. LaQuinta said to send them a mailing label, and they would mail them but neither USPS nor UPS would provide a label without having the stuff being mailed in hand. i tried to get them to send the stuff and bill my credit card the cost, but they wouldn't. Don't know why, but my shirts and pants, etc, are still there.

    Nice hotel for the price. Safe location not too far from Durham Chapel Hill border. Late night 2am Wendy's drive thru is nearby. Only real con: you need AC sometimes on Upper floors even when it's only low 60s outside. Also no apparent way to switch between AC and heat. It's either AC or nothing. They must control it from a central location.

    I felt it was on par with the big hotel brands and was surprised at the quality and availability of all the amenities! The free breakfast was a plus and had everything I need. Staff is top notch!!! The hotel itself has a pleasant citrus smell from the cleaning products. The pool is a good size for a hotel - only small issue was that the pool is cold - surprising considering its indoor :-)

    Our first room smelled so strongly of marijuana that we swapped rooms. Staff was accommodating and moved us immediately with no questions asked. The new room had a dirty bathtub and the sheets felt like sand paper. Breakfast was a disaster. The hotel was sold out but everything was empty and the staff member filling things was not polite at all. We won’t stay at this location again.

    Breakfast menu was sporadically full - there was the same sausage Patty five out of seven mornings. The coffee was good. The basic fruit wasn't always available morning to morning. The Tevana tea selection was available only three of seven mornings and for people like me with food sensitivity it would be nice if they had the full selection each morning.

    Sheets in one of the beds were dirty and a couple hand towels had stains. Great water pressure in shower/bathroom. Breakfast was straightforward with nice options. Cereal, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, bread basket and fresh waffle maker, juice and hot coffee. Sadly, indoor pool was closed during our visit. Overall a good stay!

    I stayed at this hotel for three weeks! Last night I woke up at 2 am to use the restroom, turned the TV and immediately I heard a shuffling sound. I turned on the light and there were two mice on the table! I screamed, they scampered away, after one was caught in my jacket I had on a chair. They both then went behind the dresser! I called downstairs to let them know and they moved me to another room. I also called a manager who would not give me his name, he kept blowing me saying he was in India, and basically told me I could check out. He was very rude, and every time I've tried to call back he will not answer the phone. According to the young man who was on duty they have a work group chat where he sent a message saying to move me and I could check out in the morning if I was not happy. The manger Terri arrived at 7 am. Se did not say good morning, she never apologized, and she basically said if you are not happy you can check out and leave. She then kept repeating that which was starting to upset me, because I, the customer was the one with the issue. They did not to accommodate me but instead made it seem like it was my fault they had rodents! She was very rude and keep insisting that I leave because I guess she didn't want anyone to over the conversation! I have never been so insulted in my life! Her customer service was awful, and after the money I spent to stay there I had no right being treated that way!

    Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The room was spacious and the staff were friendly, which made the overall stay comfortable. The only downside is that it’s located near a busy road, so there is some traffic noise at night. It didn’t bother me, but light sleepers may want to take note.     The hotel is so outdated, everything is very old and run down. The rooms have almost no outlets, bad lighting. AC unit smells. The breakfast was the wrist part honestly!! No healthy options at all, microwaved eggs are so wet and gross, biscuits are frozen. That was basically what they serve. The WiFi is horrible!! Which funny enough is a member perk

    I paid extra to have a reservation where I could pay when I arrived at the hotel. Apparently, the hotel tried to charge me in advance on a credit card that I had cancelled due to fraud. When I arrived, they told me that my reservation had been cancelled due to lack of payment even though I had a replacement credit card with me to pay. They were completely sold out and I had to pay about $300 more for a last minute hotel during a game weekend at UNC Chapel Hill. I called Expedia customer service and they were absolutely no help and I could bare understand the person because their accent was so heavy. I will never stay at this place or use Expedia again.

    Had really loud people in rooms around me, hotel was kinda a dump. Went to bed, felt like something was biting me on my back and shoulders, I hope to God I dont have bed bugs!     I requested a room with no perfumes as I have asthma. The smell was overwhelming! I had asthma both days I was there. ~~ There was a fire alarm the first morning and I got my coat (23'F) & purse and fled down the stairs, only to be told it was a test. ~~ The "free breakfast" was slightly edible and the coffee was terrible. ~~ The staff was nice. I left 2 days early & got my refund.

    This hotel was very comfortable and in a great location, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. The breakfast was good and a perfect way to start the day.     Are you looking for a great place to stay? You found it! Here are the pros… staff was great, the water pressure can remove car paint, the water temperature will make you understand just how hot the stuff in revelations will be, the bed was very comfy, and the room was very clean. The cons… the interior of the elevator is so chaotic that I was sent through the warp and had a conversation with Nurgle the god of rot and disease. There he told me of the horrors that await in the furthest reaches of infinite space. Just as he was going to tell me about what happens to all of us when we stop existing…. DING… second floor. Plus the Korean BBQ place down the road gave me incredible heart burn. So this is a great stay!

    My wife had a two day orientation in another city so I booked a room for her through this app. She gets to check in around 6:30 pm and was denied because the staff told her the person who booked the room "me" had to be there in person .. even though I added her as the authorized person. She begs the staff to make and exception which is ridiculous smh being her name is clearly on the reservation. Then only to be told they needed a $100 deposit to hold the room. My wife is between jobs and doesn't have the funds so I offered to transfer money to her but the hotel doesn't accept her type of payment card! So now she's goes back to her car crying because she's stressed to the max smh. The family struggles to find a way to get her money and we were successful. My wife goes back in and was turned away AGAIN because now the staff tells her it had to be paid by the card used to reserve the room and it had to be a physical card.. meaning in person!!! My wife is defeated at this point and was just willing to sleep in the car. We live 5 hours away and was expecting bad weather overnight. She had to return to class at 6am the next morning so driving home wasn't an option. After getting herself together I told her to go back in and put me on speakerphone because this is unacceptable! Two hours later the same staff tells me they could just text an authorization form giving my wife permission AND allow them to charge my card for the deposit. TWO HOURS LATER SMH!!!

    The bed was comfortable. There was Dove Shampoo! The room was really spacious. The TV was huge. The desk was huge, which was great because I needed to work.     Additional fee to check in early even though property empty. Layout is trash... to get to elevator have to walk allll the way to the back of the hotel through long hall ways, go up elevator, and then your good luck if your room is toward the front of the hotel... another super long walk to a underwhelming room (there's only one elevator and we were on 4th floor) Check in sucked as well

    Went to breakfast at 9:50 and everything was already packed up and put away. There was a football group staying at the hotel that were young boys that were running around the hotel yelling and screaming. Parents and staff did not stop the behaviors.

    The room was quiet and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that no luggage carts were available at 8pm check in or 8am check out, even though the hotel says they have several. Teri, the night manager, was helpful in looking around the hotel for them. It appears that some guests are selfish and rude enough to take carts to their rooms and keep them there overnight so that they have them in the morning. There must be a better way for the hotel to keep these available for all guests.

    The hotel itself wasn’t too bad overall, but the cleanliness and upkeep need serious attention. The bathtub was filthy, the furniture looked worn, dirty, and had a bad odor, and the room door had a large gap that didn’t feel secure.     What a rip off. Expedia gave the hotel a high rating, which is ridiculous. Maybe if it was in Afghanistan, but this the US! I am furious. Never trust Expedia again. I remember when La Quinta was a decent brand. This place was a disgrace. Shame on me for relying on Expedia for accurate reviews. Never do that again.

    Check-in/out no problem. Breakfast, nothing fancy but adequate. HANDS DOWN, the WORST problem is something we noticed instantly upon walking in. The hallway carpet from backdoor to front, EVERY floor is filthy, not just dirty but stained and filthy. Even our room had what looked like grease on the carpet. In addition, stayed in a Fairfield Inn the previous 2 nights and the beds were noticeably better. No problem with employees of this facility but as an airline pilot for 34 years staying all over the world, I have NEVER seen a carpet situation like this. This issue alone, would prevent me from staying here again.

    The rooms are old- NOT renovated like other reviews said. Lots of scrapes and holes in the furniture and walls. It had very high humidity it was oppressive. The 2nd floor hallway smelled like sewage and the first room they gave us had an intense mildew smell and something else I realized was a wet dog smell. The second room didnt smell bad but was still very oppressively humid. The front desk was nice to let us change rooms. Decent morning coffee!

    Breakfast was a hot, but the eggs and sausage were low quality. Waffles were the better option. Cereal selection was ehh. Coffee station was very good. Everything else was just okay. Worst part, the buffet closed at 9, even though website says 9:30 on weekdays. It should be 10am. We ended up missing a breakfast because i thought it ended at 9:30 and we got there at 9. When you travel with kids, that's another meal you need to purchase so it was a big deal. I purposely picked this hotel for the indoor pool, being the weather has been so bad. The pool area was very old and run down. I Expected The pool condition to be better, considering it's La Quinta by Wyndham. It was way below expectations. We wanted the pool to be a big part of our stay but only went once because of how blah it was. The room was the best part of the trip. We shared a king bed, which was comfy. It had a fridge but with no freezer. Included was a microwave and coffee machine. A good, Full selection of TV channels. the room was spacious. As far as service, from the little interaction i had with staff, they seemed completely accommodating; no issues there. Regardless of your room, there is only 1 elevator at the far end of the hotel, if that matters to anyone. It didn't really to us. Just thought it was worth noting.

    The check in was okay. When entering the room there was a moldy wet carpet smell that was horrendous. When going to shower for the night all but 3 towels had hair in them. So the next morning asked if we could be switched to another room that didn’t smell and wasn’t damp she stated she could only change the room before 12pm in which I would not be at the property for the day so she offered to spray the room. They did send some one to check out the room in which they agreed that it smelt bad and it was damp. When returning for the evening you could tell they tried to slot at the room to make it smell better but literally did not improve the smell at all. I also asked for a new set of towels at the front desk letting her know that all the towels had hair in them just to find out that every set of towels we received daily had hairs in them. The bedding was filthy along with the walls and lamp shades. So they definitely don’t seem to care about cleanliness or sanitation. I will never book or stay at this property or chain again. The uncleanliness is unacceptable and the property needs to be renovated and furniture replaced.

    Overall it's a very nice hotel, nice staff. Great lobby/dining room. Much more inviting than most hotels like this. Room was nice, clean, and comfy bed. One odd thing is the parking, the lot is very well lighted, but the parking spots are the most narrow I have ever seen anywhere. Clearly they needed to maximize parking capacity, so they painted the line really close. I noticed at least 6 open spots, but there was a big pickup or SUV parked next to it that there was no room for a normal car. Very odd...

    This is definitely a mid-grade property with mid-grade accommodations and service. Check-in was easy but the staff didn’t go out of their way to make you feel welcome. My son and I were given room 209 and as soon as I walked up to the door I had concerns about security. The door jamb had been forced by a pry bar or similar tool to the point that you could see the latches for the door through the caved in part on the jamb. No excuse for keeping this room in service. Fix the jamb and make your guests feel safe. I took a photo and will try to share. I didn’t ask for another room because we were able to secure the door but I took all valuables with me every time I left the room. The room was spacious with a fridge and coffee pot but dated for sure. Breakfast was more basic than most that I’ve had over my years of travel and the selection dwindles quick with only minimal restock. Stay away from the biscuits, they taste like whatever was used to clean the pan. The selling point of this hotel is its convenience to Duke University and the availability of dining and shopping options within a 5-10 minute drive. Final thought on the property is that they advertise as 100% smoke free and even have a sign posted in the driveway but no attempt was made to enforce this as I observed several folks smoking outside and right in front of the sign that said “No Smoking.”

    I had a horrible experience with Teri, she charged my card for $100 deposit and when I checked out I asked for a receipt she said she couldn’t give receipt because I booked through Hotels.com, I then asked for a receipt for my deposit and she we refunded and when I got home I was out of my $100 deposit fighting with this hotel and the bank. I suggest you use a credit card and not a debit card or use a prepaid card. The bank also said they didn’t see the transaction and I’m out of $100. In spite of that hotel was very clean, the front desk staff was nice, except Teri, the rooms are a little bit dated and my sink was stopped up a day, but was taken care of the next upon my return. This Teri character is was a cocky, sarcastic piece of work, while checking in I asked her a ? and she to policy board it in face as to say” read it for yourself.” I will return to Chapel Hill in the future loc, but never to this hotel unfortunately due to the negligence of Teri and the nastiness.😡

    We were not told that there was no hot water when we checked in. The toilet was broken and the phone was broken. When I went down to talk to somebody about that, there was nobody to be found so I ended up taking a cold shower. We finally went back down and they let us switch rooms, but there was still no hot water. They said they would give us a refund but we had to leave and that was about 1030 at night so I could not find another hotel for the same price that I paid. When I try to speak to the manager in the morning, they told me there was no manager and they were only authorized to give us 10% off for the inconvenience. I think it’s ridiculous that there was no manager around after all of these problems that they had a lot of the people were unhappy and left. We felt like we had to stay and 10% was not enough for the situation that was very poorly taken care of. Will not be staying here again.
