Reviews
The Magnolia Hotel in Dallas is a historic building with a convenient downtown location. Guests generally appreciate the spacious rooms and friendly staff, but there are consistent complaints about the outdated decor, poor air conditioning, and lack of amenities such as a restaurant or bar in the hotel.
- Convenient downtown location
- Friendly staff
- Outdated decor and furniture
- Poor air conditioning

The room and property was clean overall but it’s all out dated. The A/C didn’t work well in the room. If you need a microwave you have to go up to the 25th floor which is ridiculous as we were on the 9th floor. The valet took over 45 minutes to get our car for us when we were leaving. When outside there are nasty homeless people everywhere. The coffee shop downstairs was pretty good though. Would consider going back after updates.
- 3/5
The staff was nice but the sheets had blood on them. We were not happy at all, with that.
- 5/5
So great! Loved the location -
- 3/5
A little dated, however the nastagia of the property was nice. Sink leaked and was stopped up. Curtains were torn. Overall decent stay for the price
- 3/5
The room was ok but a bit worn and dated. TV channel line up is very limited and only ABC was in HD.
- 5/5
The location is right in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of lots of places. Rooms are cozy and and always clean.
- 3/5
Stanley really didn't care how he treated us. We arrived super late from long travels and he was so rude and literally we only asked him if the room had a view and he said "its too late for that you should have checked in earlier" like just so inconsiderate but Tiffany I believe was her name was so kind and accommodating to our wifi issues...when Stanley gave us no insight that the higher floor had little to no wifi so we scrambled during work time and zoom..Stanley needs to be back of house..he doesn't do well speaking direct to guests.
- 3/5
Parking cost $50. Great location. Outdated furniture.
- 1/5
I book accidentally .. but not checked in… I tried to cancel it , but they no refunded… very unhappy… lost my money..horrible
- 5/5
Loved the sitting room. Wish there was a full restaurant.
- 3/5
We stayed in "the parlor", a spacious room which has all wood walls and it was disturbing how visibly dirty it all was. Even with no overhead lighting, (which gave us an overall dark room) you could not avoid the dust and dirt. A tall ladder, a can of pledge and a vacuum is definitely needed.

- 5/5
Huge rooms and very comfortable bed. Loved having a bathtub.
- 5/5
I have stayed at the hotel several times in 2026. Each time the staff was excellent, my room (standard Queen) was good sized and clean, the bed was comfortable and the environment was reasonably quiet for being in the middle of downtown. The value for location is unmatched in Dallas. Close to dining and all the major cultural and historic attractions in Dallas. Convenient to transit.
- 2/5
The front desk was helpful upon arrival. Later in my stay I inquired with them about navigating my later evening return in light of a large downtown event that was occurring to which they had no knowledge of despite it being located on the same block. The property is outdated. It is drab, dark and has an odor throughout the entire property. The elevators are concerningly slow to respond, I happily was not stuck in one much to my surprise. The rooms are decorated in all dark brown with very poor/ineffective lighting. The bed was comfortable. The furnishings show wear. The "health club" has adequate equipment but again, it has very old carpet, drab paint and has a significant odor.
- 3/5
not very good, best thing about the hotel was the location.
- 2/5
There was no kind of parking. You must park valet. Had I known that I wouldn't have bothered. The ac in room wasn't cold. The valet wasn't organized. Makes spending the extra money worthless. Never got the deposit back. Half the channels on tv didn't work.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. Not breakfast, not free time parking but is ok

The location is amazing! It is lovely to stay in the city when you’re from a small town. The building is stunning and the staff is wonderful. The only thing even remotely close to negative that I have to say is that the build is showing its age in the small details. Which is in no way a problem when you understand the history and importance of historical buildings. I would just say the fine details being touched up would be amazing for the overall preservation of the authenticity and class of the building.

Location Multiple issues with room not being cool. Cant get management to call back to resolve issue.
- 4/5
It is in a great area within walking distance to eateries and other downtown activities. The toilet reminded me of a potty training chair for a child and there wan’t a bar to hold to assist with getting in the wide spa like tub to take a shower.

Staff was zombie like. Rooms have scrape marks on the walls. Place had a bad remodel in the early 2000s and it shows. But for the price I guess it’s fine.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic building in the heart of downtown. Easy to walk to everything & the staff was lovely.
- 1/5
I hope this next part allows me to upload a video. Because words cannot describe what we witnessed, and what the room had in it. This should be a health and hazard violation all across the board.

The staff was friendly. And housekeeping was excellent There was nothing I didn't like

This hotel seems to have taken a dive over the last 10 years. I don’t come to Dallas often but I’ve stayed here before and I feel like it’s really calm downhill. I always stay in the same wood paneled style room but this time there was visible water damage on the blackout blinds that you can lower. Like moldy. Also, the overflow drain on the bathtub came straight off and it was a jagged hole behind it and somebody’s contact lens came out of it. Also, they only had one towel and no washcloths in the bathroom and when we went to ask for more, they never came up. And nobody cleaned our room at all the two days that we were there. There was a light fixture in the ceiling in the bedroom that didn’t work from any switch. Just sad. This is an iconic building. I hope someone does something with it.

Clean room, beautiful historic building in the heart of Downtown Dallas.
- 5/5
It was a very clean and nice place
- 2/5
Staff was either wonderful or just rude. Room cleaning does not occur daily so must be requested.
- 2.5/5
friendly staff inconvenience of microwave location and ice machine..no pool
- 2/5
Staff is rude. Rooms are dark, curtains broken and the windows are filthy
- 2/5
The second floor bar was permanently closed and there was a creepy, disgusting old small hot tub off the 3rd floor stairwell (empty). The person who checked us in on 5/28 (Jesus) was a disheveled and unfriendly. He ran through is spiel in about 5 seconds and acted like we were bothering him. I would not stay here again, although it is in a great location. Stay at any of the nearby hotels.
- 3.5/5
The price for the rooms is very good. The hotel is old and weird and interesting. Lots of potential. The staff was incredible. Brought us extra blankets right away. The bathtub was clean and good. The location is amazing. We only even had stuff to do in Ft Worth besides flying in and out of love field. Easy access to i30 made getting to and from Ft Worth just as easy as driving anywhere else in DFW. The windows could use a washing, the Roman shades and the carpet and the mattress are old and need replacing for sure. The valet parking is $49 a night. It is the most convenient option but you could also download spot hero and look for something nearby, then you’re lugging your luggage thru the streets. It makes the value not so great though. Maybe take the DART.

Hotel had a musky smell like covered up mold. The carpet was dirty. The window treatments were old and broken. The bathroom had broken tiles old toilets and vanity. It seems like ownewrship let the property go. It has so much promise covered in apathy. The cleanliness, the ameneties and an overall modernization of the entire property. The only thing the hotel has going for it is the location and good staff. This is an ownership and management issue.

But the bed was comfortable. Parking is $49 for valet. There is no swimming pool. Across the street there is a place called the exchange where it’s like a food court that is open in the morning till later at night. Great place to eat breakfast lunch and or dinner. It’s a short walk to the art museum. maybe be about 15 minutes. Overall the stay was good. The hotel is just dated, but it seems to have a good history and a good location.
- 2/5
Just be aware if you do get a room with this place, there is nowhere to park really but valet so you will have to pay the 50 bucks for that. Also, I can’t vouch for the whole hotel but at least from the 21st floor up. The AC sucks it doesn’t matter what you try to adjust it to the temperature does not change the room was so warm. I had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep and you can’t even open the window not even a crack. The hotel itself is nice, but I was very disappointed with my stay and the comfort of the room.
- 2/5
As a native of Dallas, I needed to stay closer to the city for a conference and chose The Magnolia Hotel based off of the pictures and Expedia reviews. I checked in and checked out literally in 20 min, knowing I couldn't receive a refund.

Not bad, not great. Could use some maintenance, and housekeeping.

Definitely a central location for downtown Dallas. Historical significance of the building. Within walking distance of the Farmer's Market, Kennedy Memorial, and Reunion Tower. Lighting for the room relied on bedside lamps which were occasionally a bit too dim.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Everything was well cleaned except the laundry room, ironically. The room was really spacious. If you need to park your car, you have to do valet, they don’t let you park your car yourself. It’s right in the middle of down town so there’s things to walk around and see. Their coffee shop was good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room was spacious Night clerk did not welcome us. Took forever checking in guest before us. Valet was ridiculous. The valet employees refused to drive my husbands truck because they said it was too big and we still got charged for it.
- 2/5
This hotel is over 100 years old, and it shows! I do NOT recommend!
- 1/5
We had to outrun a storm on our way through to our next stop and this hotel refused to accommodate an early check in. We ended up paying for a room we could not stay in. I will never consider this place again. They claimed that housekeeping doesn't start cleaning rooms until 11 AM - yeah right.
- 3/5
Overall the room appeared clean but didn't feel super clean if that makes sense. But that's why I carry my disinfectant wipes. The bath towels were dingey and rough and scratchy. They weren't nearly white. Good thing I brought my own. The bathroom floor tiles were chipped or messily caulked over in large spots instead of replaced. It was more noticeable since the tiles are a greyish color and the caulk is bright white. We weren't able to connect to the free Internet. One of the bedside lamps with socket didn't work. The temp in the mini fridge got a little cool but didn't get cold, so we didn't put anything in it that required real refrigeration. It's ok for bottle waters or similar. There are NO microwaves in the rooms and they inform you that you have to go to the 25th floor if you want to use the microwave. The room temp was one of the best aspects, and was nice and cool. They aren't stingy with the A/C...that was a plus for me, as I don't tolerate indoor heat and humidity well. There's a nice cafe connected to the hotel and they serve pastries and coffee. The location of the hotel is very near the rail station and restaurants, night life, convenience stores. Overall it was a good stay. Some minor inconveniences but I would book again in the future if the price is right. I enjoyed the somewhat historic feel of the hotel.
- 2/5
Understandable there will be noise across the street but we endured several days of EXTREMELY loud events at At&t including movies, drums, chanting, singing for several hours. It comes directly through windows. And let's not discuss the absolutely insane lock we found on our first room we were given that had what looked like bite and claw marks on it. I have photos for proof
- 5/5
Dude that checked me in was very nice and polite. We cracked a few jokes about the things people do when you tell them to not touch certain things and had a good laugh. Room was amazing and way bigger than I thought it was going to be. It had a full kitchen, living room, and nice queen sized bed.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the historic Magnolia Hotel. The valet parking was efficient and convenient. The hotel is quiet and comfortable. We were within walking distance of many attractions.
- 4/5
Property is a value for the price. Excellent location. Nothing unexpected or inconvenient. Was at the hotel for a quick overnight stay and found the room to be clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
The hotel was convenient for the areas needed to be.
- 4/5
Some things to be aware of. 1. Parking isn’t onsite. And cost 48 dollars to valet. It takes a goid bit if time to get in and out so factor that in if you have to go in and out. It’s an olde4 hotel and it shows. Proven tile in the bathroom, dated furniture and mid quality appliances. Lastly it’s right next to the ATT Discovery Center. So lots of loud music, sounds and lights. If you are a light sleeper this ain’t for you. Glad we got a special on the stay here. Neat if you stay in the downtown area but just be aware.
- 4/5
TV did not work
- 4/5
Great location, but on Friday’s and Saturday’s it’s quite loud in the area so beware. WIFI is quite spotty in higher floors.
- 3/5
It's a nice hotel, but it is a bit dated. Also, the noise from the street really penetrates into the guest rooms.

Great historic building in Downtown Dallas. Room was quiet and restful and the bed was very comfortable.
- 4/5
It was a nice hotel. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. If you want Housekeeping to tidy up your room, you have to request it. I asked on 3 different occasions, and it wasn't done. So I finally saw Housekeeping in the hallway, and she finally did it on our 4th day of our stay. My partner and I were taking out the trash ourselves, and I was ready to purchase TP!!

Old dingy building. No room service. Parking is only valet for $50/day. No microwave in room. Not worth the price. Lots of homeless people walking around.
- 4/5
This hotel is very well located and has a wonderful view from our window. But window covers were not working properly… so one window was always with lights- it can’t be covers. Bathtub couldn’t let water to drain because it was always closed , so I must place a little plastic to make it open to drain water. Valet parking was not so smooth and easy… but generally we enjoyed to stay there. Those small things did not make us uncomfortable… we hope if next time we are coming- they will be fixed!;)
- 4/5
The price and location was great, I did get a good deal on the hotel thru booking.com though and location near the Dallas World Aquarium was why I think location was ideal On the morning of me and my bfs last stay, we were WOKEN UP by the staff at around 9am asking if we were checking out, mind you check out is at 11a and they have complimentary stay until 12pm so being woken up at 9am ish by the clerk staff was so weird - she was just “asking if we were checking out”, then the cleaning lady came by 30 mins later! It really felt like they were trying to “boot” us out of there. I’ve never had this experience at any hotel I’ve stayed before.
- 4/5
It was beautiful!! Great location and better view!! We will be back!!! We had a handicap adjustment room. We did a late booking but the room was huge!! And had an amazing view!!!

Location The Staff. Tiffany is still there. Tiffany is the one who tried to attack me came to the room bamming on the door, which was out of order and unnecessary. She also was threatening me. They were gossiping about me. Very poor Customer Service. I’ve paid all of my bills in full. Also, the room was raggedy. The plumbing was not good. The floor was dirty. The sink had very slow drain drainage and the refrigerator was broken.
- 5/5
Location to Downtown, walking distance to just about everything

The front desk staff was very kind, rooms were nice and clean Valet seems a little short staffed so it is not the workers fault but was having some issues with valet nothing extreme enough to ruin our stay the workers were very nice

Man!!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE! You would’ve thought I was at the Motel 6!!! That’s where u should’ve stayed!! All them 4-5 star reviews was a lie! It’s an old a$$ hotel! Came to management 3 times about 3 issues and was only there 4 days!! THATS AN ISSUE A DAY! First day when I checked in room was so hot, “maintenance came” to fix it, stayed in my friends room 2-3 hours and came back and room was still hot!! Went downstairs and got a different room. Second day, brushing my teeth and I feel water on my feet, BOOM SINK WAS LEAKING BAD, HAD TO USE ALL MY TOWELS TO SOAK WATER UP! Third day, was showering and water fill that tub completely up and by the next morning water WAS STILL FILLED IN TUBE AS IF I TOOK A BATH. Management didn’t care or try to comp my stay! DO NOT STAY HERE! I should’ve just stayed at the dang motel 6!! Also, please don’t comment on this with b.s. apologies, should’ve gave me my money back!! DONT STAY HERE!
- 3/5
The hotel was a nice hotel, it looks like it was luxury but know ,looks old and run-down. No restaurant. The valet parking is good. The room smells like old things
- 2/5
Be prepared to pay $50 to park and it’s mandatory valet. Only one microwave is available and it’s on the 25th floor. Area is sketchy lots of homeless people walking around. You can’t enjoy the outdoor area in the back because it was filled with homeless people. I was also charged an extra $50 for double beds when online it was only an extra $15. Even though I had a double room they only included one set of towels. No one was there when it was time to check in and had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Do not recommend

The building from the outside looks like you’re in an expensive stay until you enter. Extremely old and outdated. The employees are extremely kind and informed but look unprofessional. The a/c doesn’t work in all the rooms and there is terrible water pressure in their second floor “lobby” bathroom.
- 5/5
Bathroom tiles were coming off, but the room was clean.

Parking was terrible. Disclaimer I was there on a busy weekend. I don’t know if it was normal busy or extra busy. Either way not well planned out. One of the parking attendants was helpful despite being rushed. Front desk staff was dismissive. Freezing cold room. Mystery stains on bedding and furniture. Broken, cracked, and scuffed everything and everywhere [floors, frames, art, elevators, walls, etc]. 1 of 7 elevators working in a 29 floor building. Very much regret booking here. Grateful I didn’t have to spend much time on site and everything else about my trip to Dallas was great!
- 4/5
Good location and ideal for business traveler. it is right place of downtown and good restaurants around this hotel

We had a great stay at Magnilia downtown!
- 4/5
Location and space was top tier. The day of checkout the front desk representative was a little rude and appeared distant; poor customer service. The other two nights the service was amazing though.
- 1/5
One of the worst stays I’ve had. The room was dirty and smelled awful, and the electronics provided (like the hair dryer) were filthy. The AC and refrigerator barely worked. On top of that, I paid for valet parking and my car was damaged while in their care. Completely unacceptable—avoid this place.
- 1/5
The stuff was horrible. They didn’t want me to stay there. Check me in and park. Did they charge you $50 they lost my truck for like an hour and a half so I requested my money back.
- 1.5/5
The lobby is pretty. I won't bother writing the details because they said that the entire building was going to be gutted and completely renovated soon. So if they have renovated, go ahead and give them a shot! But definitely dont go until then.

No kitchen but available microwave in 25th floor amongst its laundry facilities. But a very solid price for location and comfortable and quiet quality.

The only two negatives are that the mattress was a little hard and if you bring your car, expect to pay nearly $50 a night for parking. Still, what a find!

The hotel used to be my go to for Dallas; however, it is now dated and in need of some upgrades. There were water stains on the ceiling, tub/shower did not drain. The only option for parking is valet. Took 30 minutes to retrieve cars. Lobby smells like gasoline and exhaust. Generally disappointing.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. The location was also convenient and easily accessible, making the stay more enjoyable. I checked in around 9:00 PM or shortly after. Unfortunately, my experience during the first day was disappointing due to an internet connectivity issue. Since I had indicated that this was a business-related trip, reliable internet access was essential for my work. After waiting for the connection to resolve on its own, I called the front desk for assistance but did not receive an answer. The following morning, I went down early to report the issue and learned that the connectivity problem in room 1307 was already known. I was then moved to another room by the day-shift, which I appreciated. However, it would have been helpful to proactively inform guests of known issues or offer an alternative solution sooner, particularly for business travelers who depend heavily on reliable internet.

This is a lovely old historic hotel. It is in the most perfect location. Our room was a bit run down, but in ways that didn’t really matter in the whole scheme of things. But overall, it was ideal. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It truly was an incredible stay. I love this downtown and if I find myself back this way I would stay here again without hesitation.

This hotel is terrible, 29 floors and one working elevator that only holds 8-10 people (per the signage inside AND outside the elevator) the pictures of the hotel on EVERY site are old, they show a refreshed old hotel. Well the refreshing was like 10 yrs ago and believe me, everything in it has been well used, ick!

The main problem was the elevator. I am disabled and had to wait a very long time to get to and from my room on the 24th floor.

That part was ok.
- 3/5
Nice room and location, but it really smells like cigarette a lot. Very sting smell on the room floors
- 2/5
Would have been wonderful to have our own microwave in our room. Instead we had to take the elevator up to some sketchy site on the 25th floor, 6 elevators in the building and only 2 worked. We had to take the stairs down a couple times from the 9th floor. Staff not very helpful.
- 4/5
The hotel is in a good location downtown. I got a good price on the room, but they got me with the Valet parking. It was $50.00 a night, which is ridiculous. I was there for 5 nights and that Valet took a chunk out of my travel expenses. There was no mention of the cost of valet in Expedia or on the hotel website.

Elevator issues but everything else was a 3.5 star rating

Lovely historical building, nice clean room and the hotel was well positioned in Dallas. Friendly and helpful staff. Welcoming and approachable. Facilities were good. Access to interesting areas in Dallas was great. We enjoyed our stay very much. Nothing really to say negatively about hotel.
- 4.5/5
The kitchen being stocked with essentials was really nice The thermostat didn't function. I turned it off and it stayed on another hour, we even tried setting it to 85 just to turn off the air and we still froze. Also the carpet and touch up paint needs some love in room 910. Also the lighting above the table was barely hanging on with electrical tape and shouldn't even be in the room honestly since it provided no light

One thing to note, there isn’t any parking around that’s worth the walk, and valet is 48$ a night.
- 1/5
This property is dirty, not taken care off. Furniture is old, carpet is dirty and nasty. The first room I was given had dirt stains and hair on the floor. I went down stairs and showed the front desk the pictures I took. He moved me to another floor and room. Second room was cleaner but everything in the property looks rundown and old- out of six elevators only one was operating. Not a pleasant experience.
- 3/5
Booked a 2 bed room and when we arrived they only had one queen bed available. One of us had to sleep on the couch that didn’t pull out.
- 0.5/5
Valet parking we had to wait quite long and there was no organization , staff was trying their best, but it does need more structure.

Only issue I had was the ac in the room wasn’t very cold, but kept the room somewhat comfortable
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and valet was fast and accommodating.

I was really surprised on how great of a stay it was I was visiting for the Ashnikko concert and having a nice place to stay was such a plus
- 3/5
Sad place today. Probably back in its day, might have been magnificent but the place is in desperate need of updating. Everything just looks dark and worn out.
- 2.5/5
Location Room was too small, overpriced
- 4/5
Classy, vintage hotel with quirks and charm. The restaurant off the lobby was very good for breakfast. Convenient location for the meeting I was attending nearby.
- 1/5
Only one elevator was working. The room was not well maintained or cleaned. I did not see any staff ever other than the lobby person (1) the hotel has a great location walking distance from a bunch of bars and restaurants but it’s not great.
- 3/5
room was spacious, close to bars downtown, room was cold and had to be requested by maintenance to fix
- 1/5
Very interesting old building. Loved the architecture. However, out of 7 elevators, only 1 was in working order. The wait for an elevator was up to 40 minutes at times. The AC/Heat unit did not put out warm air. One morning, we had it up to 80 degrees and it was still blowing cold air. The valet was as slow as the elevator. Saturday we waited approximately 1.5 hours for our truck. Sunday was not quite as bad, but took twice as long as we were told. The front desk clerk was super awesome and appologetic, but I would not stay here again. The valet guys were very nice and understaffed for the volume of people at the hotel for the weekend.
- 3/5
This one time beautiful hotel is so tired. Needs significant upgrades. Had maintenance to room 2x for 2 day stay. First building with air conditioning needs air confitioning fix! Water temp not consistent. It judtvwasnt as nice as I imagined. First front desk guy wasnt so nice. Girl in morning was so nice. This hotel needs a long hard look at what can make it better. Too msny other choices to stay here again.
- 4/5
Hotel was great and it located close to restaurants and bars
- 5/5
Parking was good valet staff was amazing room was clean
- 3/5
If the elevators had not been down...all but one was down, then two were up, but less than half were running during a busy weekend. Folks huffing and puffing on the stairwells.
- 2/5
Location was central to a lot of things, staff was friendly, and the room was tidy. The room was super cold and the thermostat wasn’t working to turn the A/c off. There was only one elevator because the other 7 or whatever were out of order, so it took a solid 20 minutes to get down the elevator. I ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Also, the location was frustrating because I didn’t know how loud it would be since it’s right next to some sort of outdoor event venue or something. There was a block party every night and it was insanely loud.
- 4/5
Great historic building, it's old but it has charm and good staff. Great location in downtown Dallas
- 2/5
The front desk lady was not very friendly. I told her I had purchased on hotels.com and then she could finally find my reservation. And then she acted like I wasn’t as good as somebody who reserved directly with them. She also tried to charge me more and I had a receipt where I had already paid for it. Then later I had to come down to tell her I had no showerhead in the shower and she just said she’ll let somebody know. I never got it fixed in three days. There were no amenities in the room at all, the little refrigerator did not work and there was no microwave or coffee pot. There was a light out in the bathroom, so it was really dark. And again the showerhead did not work and so I had to take a bath all the time. When I told someone else at the front desk, they said they would let someone know. And I asked them how do they know what room I’m in and they said oh what room are you in. So it obviously they didn’t care and it was gonna go no farther. No one ever fixed it or came to fix anything in the room. I ended up checking out a day early and moved to the Adolphus hotel one block down, and I got the same rate as I did in this place. I don’t recommend going here unless they get some more friendly service people and fix up the rooms.

- 2/5
Elevator situation was a nightmare, all broken except 1! 20 minute wait to get feom 17th floor to 1st floor. AC was stuck and we couldn't adjust it, freezing all night!
- 3/5
No free parking around.
- 2/5
Ac did not work so the room was miserable. The toilet quit flushing the middle of the night. Only one elevator worked so leaving took forever and then valet took a hour to bring us our car. For the price it was a disappointment.
- 5/5

- 5/5
La habitacion es muy comoda y el tratp del personal es muy amable.
- 5/5
Great staff. Clean room and bathroom.
- 2/5
My one night stay wasn’t the best due to poor valet staff and hotel maintenance. The hotel is pretty old there were tiles broken on the floor in the bathroom, the hotel elevator was broken so it took about 10 minutes going up or down waiting for the other elevator. During check out we had to wait almost 2 hours for our car to be retrieved from valet and the staff couldn’t care less. The room was clean had a full kitchen with stove included, it was basically an apartment
- 5/5
The staff was most pleasant
- 5/5
Great location, hotel has lots of character
- 1.5/5
Near the bomb factory Towels were dirty, no microwaves in the rooms, and parking was hard to find.
- 3/5
The building is stunning and the check-in process easy. I was on business and needed to get some work done but the WiFi was not working in my room and the staff's response was essentially "you can use the lounge or try a coffee shop" instead of addressing or, more importantly, solving the issue.
- 5/5
All of the staff were friendly and accommodating.
- 1/5
The hotel room was nothing like the pictures it was dirty, ugly and nasty!!
- 5/5
- 3/5
The ac in the room was very old and wouldn’t cool down
- 4/5
We really liked this hotel. While it was quite old, which is something we liked about it, it was also ver well kept and in a great location! The TV was pretty darn dated....it was like turning on a TV in 2010 or something. It was both small and outdated. I was surprised they hadn't updated that with TV's being so cheap now.
- 4/5
Location was perfect. It’s outdated. TV is the size of my monitor at home and isn’t a smart tv. It’s also very dark. Bathrooms need serious renovations but it’s clean.
- 4/5
Great location and beautiful original buildings. The AC do not work in my original room but I was giving an upgrade which was a plus.
- 4.5/5
Location Nothing
- 4/5
Staff was amazing and told us the best place to park and gave accommodations for the birthday that we had!
- 2/5
Hotel is good as a piece of history but other than that wouldn’t recommend. Theres not option to park beside the $50 valet parking. Room was decent but the air conditioning didn’t really work at all. Room was set the 50 all night and was still so hot that we didn’t sleep with blankets. In the morning the fire alarm in the room randomly started going off for more than 30 minutes. The front desk staff member seemed annoyed with the fact that we were trying to get someone to help us turn the fire alarm off. Thankfully on the way back to the room we ran into a staff member who instantly helped us once he heard the alarm going off. Overall the stay wasn’t the worst but I definitely expected a lot more and better from the hotel.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. My room was clean. Easy in and easy out. This was the second time I’ve stayed there. Will definitely stay there again if I have business there.
- 5/5
Gracias 🙏
- 1/5
This place is very outdated and creepy. I'm positive there was splattered blood in an elevator with smudged handprints on the walls. Our bedroom had so many damages I was really uncomfortable 😫
- 4/5
I loved the location and how spacious the rooms were! My room stayed a little warm. Would have liked for it to have been cooler and have a fan in the room.
- 2/5
Clean hotel and great staff, except they never answered the phone the 8 times called, and the ac heating didn't work in the freezing room. Also the water was freezing and never heated up. They will be on the phone immediately to charge you for a late departure though
- 4/5
Room, view, comfy bed. Loved the decor- especially the room number signs. Easy walk to find restaurants. Hall rugs smelled musty, rug in room always felt damp. Wi-Fi was weak.
- 5/5
Hot water was amazing. The valet workers did amazing
- 3.5/5
Hotel basically forces you to use valet because regular parking lot isn't connected to hotel " it's down the street and you still have to pay there as well" . Then at checkout time you have to wait literally a hour and a half for the valet the made you pay for to finally bring your car to the front of the hotel! The leave will be horrible here everytime if it's multiple guests checking out
- 5/5
Beautiful, quiet hotel downtown
- 3/5
Convenient location in the downtown area with very reasonable price. However, the elevator is a big issue: it takes long time to wait.
- 4/5
The hotel always very beautiful. The room was clean. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The only issue was on the water was on the cold to warm side. It was hard to shower more than a minute without the water going cold. We loved that everything was a walkable distance, even if it was not, the valet guys were nice and helpful.

- 5/5
Great room and space! Limited options on site for food, but lots of options nearby!
- 3/5
Short staffed. Windows were filthy and blinds were broken. Had to request housekeeping and then they didn’t show up at the time requested. Line was crazy long to check and retrieve bags. Smell in the lobby was overwhelming - like natural gas. Just a dingy and dark and old hotel. Would not stay again.
- 5/5
Clean and upscale. Everything was wonderful, I have no complaints
- 4/5
It was an older hotel so it’s like an Accenture walking through and seeing what it was before the upgrade Slow elevators
- 4/5
That said everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked.
- 5/5
Parking was a little hard considering it’s on a main road but Valet guys were very nice! Fridge smelled like dead fish and didn’t cool very well. Room was nice had a good view of the city.
- 1/5
We prepaid to stay there last night and we drove over and tried to check in at 11:00. There is no parking at the hotel so you have to valet. The valet was so backed up that people were double parked and just leaving their cars with the keys in it. There must have been at least 10 cars waiting to valet. There was no where to park - we drove around the block a few times hoping to find a place to wait for the valet or a place to park on the street - none of which we found. We ended up just driving back to Houston after the concert and got home after 3:30 this morning. Such a waste - we paid for a room we couldn’t even use because of their parking situation. We got the room so we didn’t have to drive back and risk falling asleep - instead we wasted an hour trying to find parking, wasted the room $$ and still had to drive back to Houston. Very very disappointing and we are NOT happy.
- 3/5
But there is a nice cafe next Door which is part of the hotel. The carpets were wrinkled needing to be tightened. I tripped coming out of the elevator twice. The elevator one was broken. The other one got stuck on the 11th floor with a man inside for quite a while. There were. I don't know what kind of stains all over the blind on the window. There was a blood stain on the comfort of the bed, which did not look like it had been worse yet.
- 3/5
My biggest complaint about this hotel is the elevators. For 20+ floors, only two elevators worked with a capacity of 8 people each. We arrived late at night to check in, and because fellow guests were coming in for a concert, it took about 20-30 minutes to get up to our room.
- 3/5
I stayed there 4 nights and not once did housekeeping come to give fresh towels that's my only complaint
- 1/5
Need update
- 5/5
Everything was phenomenal!
- 5/5
Self parking was a little difficult to find, but simple enough to use and affordable. I would have liked to have my parking validated. Water pressure was below average. Room was clean and tidy and the staff was very helpful.
- 3/5
Front desk staff not very helpful! I tried to figure out the parking situation but they were clueless! Only one elevator worked, had to wait minutes before catching one to get to the room and back out!
- 3/5
Make sure you request cleaning
- 5/5
EZ check-in Maintenance man had to come to turn the heater on
- 4/5
Architecture Rooms Location Too cold in lobby Lobby could be better
- 2.5/5
The property appears significantly worn out and not properly maintained. Of particular concern, only two elevators were functioning for a 28-floor building, resulting in excessive wait times and inconvenience throughout my stay. Additionally, the hotel seemed severely understaffed, and service was virtually nonexistent.
- 3.5/5
Big bathrooms , clean and neat rooms View from the middle rooms
- 3/5
The price was good. The lobby and hallways looked to have been updated. The room was dark, needed some light colors, some paint and the windows were so dirty. Felt very much like an outdated hotel.
- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5

- 5/5
I love this building!
- 4/5
The valet service was excellent.
- 3/5
It’s been more than 10 days, and I’m still waiting for the refund on my incidentals Was told I would be given 50% off the first night because of their hvac…then told I need to take it up with Expedia after the fact Other than that; had a good time in Dallas
- 1/5
The hotel management needs to reconsider its staff. There are two female receptionists, one of whom wears glasses, who are rude and impolite.
- 3/5
The hotel was fine. The air conditioning made the room permanently cold and there was no food available when we were there and there was no turndown service during the day. But the hotel was clean and centrally located.
- 5/5
The whole experience was great, I would definitely stay there again
- 3/5
Staff was great however the hotel as a whole is dated and does not feel luxurious at all. They were lacking basic amenities like in room dining, which is kind of wild for a 4-star hotel. You also had to call the front desk if you needed to change the temperature in your room. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Room was beautiful and clean. Staff was courteous and helpful. The view from the room was nice as well will be going back.
- 5/5
Beautiful building, great rooms, secure. THANK YOU!
- 3/5
Toilet started overflowing so we had to change rooms. Front desk staff not willing to go above and beyond with customer service.
- 5/5
They to advertise that the cafe, bar are closed so people have a chose another Hotel that have them, but not advertising seems rather iffy!
- 5/5
Good location
- 2/5
This wasn't my first time staying at the magnolia hotel, but this time I was not impressed. The wifi didn't work well on the higher floor. The thermostat was controlled from downstairs not the rooms. The carpet in room 2317 felt and looked unclean. I wouldn't walk barefoot in that room. I definitely experienced better on previous bookings.
- 2/5
That was not the case. This hotel is in dire need of renovation. There were signs of water damage in several areas of the room and places that were sagging in the ceiling. The window treatments were stained and damaged. The shower/tub was separated from the floor in spots so the tub would “sink”under my feet. The second floor bar was closed - seemingly always. The biggest issue was the valet. Upon arrival, there was no one at valet. I parked the car. Checked in, put my bags in the room, came back down and there was still no valet. I asked the front desk if the valet was working and they said yes. I asked if there was someone they could call to check on them. They told me to wait by the valet. So I did. I waited a bit longer and they showed up and got me checked in. I didn’t have any other issues until my departure. I had an early flight out of DFW. I requested the car. It took 40 minutes to retrieve the car. I was the only valet customer. This delay caused me to miss the window to check my luggage on my flight by 4 minutes. I am stuck in Seattle on a 10 hour layover due to this. It’s cost me $165 to change flights. $900 for a 4 night stay for this experience. Is not ideal.

Upon check in, Savanna was great, personable and super nice. I got up to the room and the bed was bare, not sheets, nothing. We left our things and walked downstairs to go grab food and let savanna know that we would love for our naked bed to be made before we got back and she smiled and said you got it, im so sorry. We were gone for 3 hours. We went back up to the room only to find that the bed was still not made. In fact, the sheets were brought up to the room and thrown onto the desk in the living room area, as if im to make my own bed. We called down to the front desk and the gal was nice and said she would send someone up. 20 minutes later, still nothing. We called back down and asked for Savanna and we were informed she was sent home for the evening. We called the adolphus hotel to see if they had a vacancy and they said they would love to have us and booked us a room at the same rate we paid at the magnolia. We asked for a full refund and it was granted. While we gathered our belongings, the room service came in and was sooo extremely rude, slamming the doors and complaining that all the bedding wasnt available to her.. HORRIBLE experience. Its a motel 6 vibe...
- 1/5
Room was disgusting, they switched us and still pretty gross. I get it’s an old hotel but they gotta at least keep it somewhat clean.
- 4/5
Great Location
- 1/5
My experience included several unacceptable issues: - Widespread Service Issues: During my check-in, I observed numerous other guests complaining to the staff about various problems. It was clear that my experience was not an isolated incident, but a reflection of a poorly managed property. - Severe Understaffing: There were only two employees at the reception desk to handle all guest needs. This led to extremely poor, slow, and unprofessional service. - Disregard for Specific Requests: I explicitly requested a room away from the elevator. Despite this, I was placed in a room directly in front of the elevator, showing a total lack of care for my preferences or comfort. - Lack of Basic Amenities: I was initially offered a room without Wi-Fi. Functional internet is a mandatory requirement for any 4-star rating, not a luxury to be negotiated. - Misrepresentation: Aside from the location, nothing about this hotel justifies a 4-star rating. The service is non-existent and the staff is indifferent to guest concern.

Every thing was great to me except the up charge on valet

- 5/5
Room was spotless. Great view.
- 5/5
Nice and neat and very clean
- 3/5
Room was pretty nice, large, very clean and impressive but the hotel had a MAJOR issue valentines night. The a/c went out and caused major issues and a very hot uncomfortable night. If it wasn’t for the air issues it would have been great.
- 5/5
Check in was super easy and fast, valet took some time but well worth it. No room service but did have a small cafe
- 1/5
Start off valet was super packed and wait time was 45 minutes just sitting in one spot ! Then the ad states complimentary drinks from 5:30 to 6:30 which is absolutely false . Then the desk tells us there’s no complimentary breakfast which they also advertise! So we check in have dinner a few hours later we get back and the AC is not working and we have to return home due to the discomfort of being HOT IN THE ROOM
- 3/5
the room was very warm. the ac wasn’t functioning properly although we tried troubleshooting and turning it off then on again
- 2/5
Yes. For that price in such a high end environment downtown Dallas. My bed had some piece of plastic left under the covers. I couldn't control the air to make myself comfortable. I was hot. I'm looking to speak with management on Monday.
- 1/5
I checked in at 4:00 PM and had to check out just two hours later and move to another hotel. The room temperature was stuck at 85 degrees because the AC was broken and wouldn’t cool down, which made it very uncomfortable. On top of that, the WiFi was also down. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

- 4/5
The bed was a little stiff, but overall stay was quite pleasant. Had a lot of space, and the staff were helpful.
- 1/5
AC did not work all weekend and valet was basically non existent. Need help requesting a refund
- 1/5
Our stay here was really tough. The worst we ever experienced. Moving forward we will be more careful in choosing hotels. The room was dated, dark and had roaches. I will be making an official report with photos and videos.
- 3/5
We opted at the desk not to check in because we were told the AC was not working in the entire hotel. I was very disappointed because we had to find other accommodations late in the evening and because I booked through another source my full refund would come through them.
- 5/5
The staff were exceptional.
- 3/5
The AC was not working and the restaurant was closed . The view from the 19 floor was beautiful however the hotel needs a lot renovations.
- 4/5
The staff at the front desk were very helpful (Savanna). I called the day before for a couple of requests and she did accommodate me to the best of her ability which was very appreciated. Clean hotel, a bit outdated but very worth it as it in close to all restaurants and also one of the best cafes right underneath it! Would highly recommend this hotel to others!
- 1/5
Water was leaking from the ceiling We switch in 3 different rooms an all of them was terrible
- 5/5
For the price, this is the best hotel in Dallas! Great location, clean spacious rooms.
- 5/5
This is in a historical downtown Dallas building! Very Unique. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of several great restaurants!
- 1/5
- 4/5
Everything was great, however you have to have staff come and adjust the a/c because the age of the building.
- 3/5
Room was not as clean as expected. Microwave did not work. Can lights in kitchen flickered. Did not have a lot of towels. No channel guide for TV. No wipes in health club for cleaning equipment when done using. Location was good.
- 4/5
This was a nice hotel to stay at. Staff was nice room and hotel clean. Parking is nightmare unless you're skiing valet
- 4/5
The refrigerator did not work the freezer did. My experience at the magnolia dallas was not worth what i paid. 3 out of 10 stars.
- 2/5
Staff support was lacking. I waited to at thsomeone for 40 minutes with a line behind me.
- 2/5
Waited over an 1hr for staff to show up at the front desk to check in. Room was nice and clean but it was outdated.
- 4/5
The heating in room was terrible
- 3/5
Everything was clean, the hotel just seemed a little worn out to be honest. I got checked in less then 5 minutes because the staff member was in a hurry. The lobby was very very cold. Valet was a bit high but they were at least friendly.
- 5/5
A good stay
- 5/5
Great hotel it’s pretty chill placed in a nice area
- 1/5
Had a winter storm on the day of our booking, we called and tried to move the check in day for another day and the staff was super rude , nobody was able to help us. Would not recommend the place
- 2/5
Pros: - Decent room layouts with good flow - Excellent downtown location near Commerce, Main, and Elm Streets - INCREDIBLE city views that carry most of the experience Room Cons: - The rooms are severely outdated. Not charming, not vintage, just old. - Ancient TV with poor picture quality - Dim, depressing lighting - Outdated fixtures, furniture, carpet, bedding, and decor throughout - Cheap, squeaky spring mattresses with low quality linens - No robes - Only one set of towels and washcloths - Housekeeping is not automatic. There is no daily service unless you call and request it. No trash pickup, no fresh towels, no refresh unless you ask. *Major Issue* You cannot control the room temperature yourself. Any adjustment requires calling the front desk and waiting for maintenance to enter your room and manually change it. Response time ranges from 20 minutes to never, so expect to be uncomfortable. Property and Service: - The building feels worn down with broken fixtures and elevators often out. - There is no room service, no bar, and no restaurant. - The coffee shop is open briefly in the morning and is mediocre. - The on-site store has minimal snacks and drinks. - Front desk staff is mid. - Valet is slow and costs around $48 per day. Final Verdict: This is not a four-star hotel. It is a two-star hotel pretending to be a classic downtown stay.

Staff was very courteous. The room was clean. Didn't have coffee or any amenities in the room, which was slightly disappointing, but I was only there for the night in between flights.
- 4/5
Room was great. Noise carries a lot from room to room
- 5/5
Great location. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Great price!
- 4/5
Nice size room, clean, good place to stay
- 4/5
Courteous staff. Clean room, spotless bathroom lots of hot water for the tub
- 4/5
Cons: 1) Furniture looks quite old, although they function well. The gym is spacious but very few machines. TV is very old, although I did not use it. 2) In-room wifi is not good. 3) Staff is friendly enough and professional, yet not warm-hearted. Overall, it's an OK hotel.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff were nice and helpful and understanding when we got snowed in and had to stay an extra day.
- 5/5
AMAZING!! Thank you!
- 2/5
Would not recommend. Absolutely would not stay again.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, good view, and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Staff was great. Room was ok but could use a little work. The tile by the shower was all messed up and tub floor seemed soft.
- 4/5
Spacious rooms and great location.
- 5/5
Everything is great. Staffs were very friendly too.
- 3/5
Great location. Room was large but needed updating.
- 5/5
Nice stay
- 4/5
It's dated and the walls are THIN, as are the windows. It's in a great location, but from the 14th floor I could hear EVERYTHING happening on the street all night long, even conversations. It was hard to sleep with all the noise. Also the drain didn't work so the shower was ankle deep the entire time.
- 1/5
I was told at check in that they had bad news. That they could not give me the room I booked and I would be staying in an outdated room that I wasn't able to control the temp, had no WiFi and most people hated. And yep I hated it. From the disgusting carpet to the yellow stained mini fridge sitting on the floor I had a horrible night of sleep. The room smelled and more importantly they denied letting me out of the second night despite the woman telling me I could cancel it!
- 5/5
The staff was fabulous as was the location for my needs. My queen room was huge and nicely appointed. I do wish the bathroom had a newer, higher toilet. It was a long way down for my knees and back! There is no restaurant but a great coffee shop. However, there are many dining options right outside the door. The valet parking was very speedy. I would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
No Wifi. No ability to control heat/AC in room. Shower pressure was bad, most of the water came from the spout while showering, filling the tub. Overall stay was...EH.
- 1/5
Room smell like mold lights didn’t work carpet was filthy tile in the bathroom was falling apart it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in hotel
- 5/5
Easy check in. Friendly people at the desk.
- 1/5
run down, no service, no bar, hardly any staff. What a shame!
- 5/5
Had an amazing stay! Hotel and valet staff were fantastic. Hotel has amazing architecture. Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked great, bathroom was clean and spacious, water was very hot, no outside noise, and beautiful view of the city. Location was perfect. We highly recommend the valet service. Can’t wait to stay here on our next trip.
- 1/5
Dingy and gross, stains on the carpet in the rooms, water damaged ceilings, stains all over the curtains. Felt like staying in an abandoned hotel
- 3/5
Parking is strange and the microwave is located on a different level. So don't expect too much
- 1/5
It was horrible. The staff was completely unprofessional then they tried to commit fraud on my debit card. After that they put me out in the middle of the daytime with nowhere to go and no heads up and had security escort me out like I was a criminal it was humiliating. It was embarrassing and I was devastated especially because I had already been there two weeks and I had wanted to stay there longer. I wasn’t behind on my room or anything
- 5/5
Clean Room and bathroom. Staff friendly. Easy check in and out.
- 5/5
Great Stay!
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Loved it!!
- 5/5
Not necessarily a “nice” hotel but you can’t beat the location and the history of the building is one of a kind.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
I got in at night about 10:45 and there was no hot water for a shower or even to wash my face. Be prepared for a lot of noise at night up and down the street outside. The room was large and that was nice.
- 4/5
Room was nice and clean, staff was friendly. The toilet did not flush and had to call twice to have someone come fix it. It never did flush correctly, had to take the cover off the tank every time to get the water to fill so that it would flush. Not what I want to do when I’m paying for a room.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful, room clean and no noise complaints. Some slight maintenance work needed for the washroom/shower faucet but no complaints otherwise. Thank you for the stay.
- 4/5
The location and price were unbeatable.
- 3/5
The pictures provided of the room did not match the room.
- 3/5
Inconvenient parking and it's a much older building. The beds aren't the most comfortable.
- 5/5
Its a beautiful hotel. Love the rooms. It's a great place to stay
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
It was dirty my two rooms i got first had black stuff on it from vents second was not clean.
- 5/5
Excellent service overall
- 2/5
There was a very loud concert outside until 1 am and fireworks all night. The entire building shook. If they would have told us that the event was happening next door, I would have booked elsewhere due to our small children.
- 2/5
The staffing was low, long wait times at check in, the elevators were old and only 2 of 4 were working on check out, so we waited 30 minutes to get on one. The hotel itself is very old, smelled dated. Won’t stay there again.
- 5/5
Elevators need some work but overall a good stay. Valet service was helpful and quick. Amazing location within walking distance to great food and entertainment. Super happy and will be back!
- 3/5
Additionally, the toilet paper was not replaced; the roll provided was already more than three-quarters used. During checkout, even though the hotel has four elevators, only two were working. After waiting more than 20 minutes, my family and I—along with many other guests—gave up and had to use the emergency stairs to go down 18 floors to the lobby.
- 2/5
Was not handicapped accessible for my husband who is recovering from a stroke
- 3/5
Kitchen sink was clogged and there was no one to help. No luggage carts. Most of the elevators were out of service as people were checking out. Parking was too expensive. Room was lovely.
- 1/5
Beds were hard as a rock could not get the thermostat to work froze all night. The drains kept clogging up. The rooms were super outdated, dirty carpet elevators super slow.
- 4/5
Staff was courteous and room was clean, however, the light switch when you enter the room did not work, and the shower head could use replacing/updating, but otherwise a nice room.
- 5/5
Excellent property with professional and customer focused staff!
- 2/5
The air conditioning is actually fan where the air is not cold enough. Carpet looks dirty and old. Not enough lighting at entrance.kitchen stove not working properly and no dish soap.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice workers
- 5/5
Great service! Convenient and great location
- 2/5
The check in staff could not find my reservation.
- 5/5
The front desk was very supportive. I had to change my travel plan. The front desk helped me to revise my check out date, there was no extra charge. They were super nice and helped me to finish checkout within 1 minute.
- 5/5
Customer Service was OK
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Great spot!!
- 5/5
Been one of my favorite hotels for a long time never had no bad complaints about this one
- 3/5
Too dated))
- 5/5
Smooth check in, Great location, efficient valet, milk n cookies were a nice touch for Christmas time
- 5/5
Loved the Valet Parking service and staff
- 5/5
Our stay was excellent
- 5/5
Yes. Spotless room and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Everything was great great friendly staff ...
- 2/5
The bathroom messed up the stay. Once trying to shower there was long strands of hair inside the bath tub and along the nozzle. Upon using the sink it was clogged very bad....drained very slow. I did knowledge it to the staff and Savannah was very apologic and stated would reach out to her supervisor in regards to correcting this issue. I enjoy staying downtown Dallas of course but will probably not stay at Magnolia
- 5/5
Great place and great view with the signature suit
- 1/5
The room smelled, was dark, had poor lighting, and was old.
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Great location. They could invest in newer TVs. Very nice and helpful front desk staff.
- 5/5
- 2/5
They charged me for my stay after I paid Expedia in full. How do I get my refund?
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great locations
- 5/5
space to move around
- 5/5
Clean room. Great staff.
- 5/5
Great room very comfortable stay. Very clean. Definitely will visit again.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay
- 5/5
Love you
- 3/5
The size of the rooms were great- larger than expected, but need updating. The carpets were old and loose. The bathroom walls had old water damage. On the 5th floor facing Commerce Street directly across from the green space. was extremely loud until the middle of the night. The room/windows need some kind of soundproofing for this. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner need to have a tamper proof system in place.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location, great value
- 4/5
It was very clean and good service. A little antiquated inside the rooms but well maintained. It did take a minute for the water to heat up in the shower but not a big deal. Would stay here again! Central to lots of eateries in downtown Dallas so we were able to walk mostly. Only 20-30 ish minute drive to the AT&T stadium. Very convenient!
- 5/5
Great location in downtown. Room was clean and AC worked well. Hotel had great character and staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Such friendly and helpful staff!
- 1/5
Room was outdated and nothing like the photos which are deceptive. It might be historic but needs a serious renovation. Strange smell in the air and things were overlooked like tissue on floor and bandaid stuck on wall.
- 2/5
Outdated, poor amenities,
- 5/5
Cleaned room
- 2/5
Room and place was old and dirty
- 5/5
Easy to check in. Friendly valet staff and very helpful.
- 2/5
One of the more affordable options in the area but for a reason. The exterior of the building is beautiful and historic but interior is dated and unimpressive. The bathroom tile was falling apart and I stepped on loose grout from the tile more the a couple of times. I can’t imagine all the rooms were in such poor condition but unfortunately mine was. Staff was great but lobby and room had me looking at moving to an entirely different hotel.
- 5/5
Everything was absolutely amazing!!! But I will say... The one in HOUSTON. is way way way better!!!!!
- 2/5
Clean-ish. Staff is friendly. Good location.
- 1/5
To make matters worse, a parade blocked access to our vehicle until 1:00 PM. Even with checkout extended to 12:00 PM, we were told to carry our luggage two blocks away and wait in our car until the parade ended. This major disruption was never disclosed when booking, and our company would have chosen a different hotel had we known. The staff’s response was equally disappointing. The clerk who handled checkout was dismissive, simply saying “okay” when I explained our concerns. Tiffany at the front desk was the only employee who showed professionalism and understanding. Between the unsanitary rooms, poor communication, and lack of customer care, this experience was unacceptable. I have photos documenting the room conditions and expect a prompt response from management regarding this matter.
- 5/5
Very clean and the rooms are very spacious.
- 3/5
Front desk did was not welcoming. Also, no restaurant for dinner due to renovations and I don’t recall seeing that when I booked.
- 2/5
- no hair dryer in room. - not good customer service. - good location for what we were in town for.
- 5/5
👌
- 2/5
Toilet ran all night. Adjusted temp but it never warmed up. Mattresses hard.
- 5/5
The Staff was helpful in every way, we got into our room quickly. Valet took good care of our vehicle, and everyone was courteous and genuinely helpful. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped out of the car. The room was large and well appointed, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and accommodating. The coffee maker and refrigerator were a plus. The view from the 10th floor was amazing. This hotel is convenient to so many entertainment and dining options. We felt very happy to be able to attend our Candlelight Concert, and get to and from the event easily.
- 4/5
Spacious room. Good location.
- 3/5
Room was very dark, no central lighting. It was winter time, and thermostat wouldn’t turn the room warm. They almost charged me for valet with no car
- 2/5
the sink & tub building up pool when washing /showering.
- 1/5
Horrible hospitality! As a frequent traveler I’ll never step a foot in Magnolia again…..
- 2/5
According to the listing, I would have high speed internet, but when I got to my room I could not access the wifi. When I called the front desk, I was told it is a known issue for my floor that there was no internet. I was very upset about this. Additionally, the remote for the TV was inadequate. Without a directional pad on the remote, I could not access all the menu options. I made mention of this to the front desk and they assured me someone would come up to address the problem, but no one showed up. Overall, this place was a disappointment.
- 1/5
Could be more professional and understanding
- 1/5
Terrible service. Terrible parking the worst didn’t do there job only 2 people working all night just lollygagging around .horrible looking room not anything like the images looks like a jail room .
- 1/5
I booked a room with 2 queen beds for four people. I was given a room with one queen bed. There wasn't even a sofa sleeper. The front desk sent up a single roll away bed and all they could say was there were no rooms with 2 beds available and they couldn't refund me any money. So I paid for 2 beds and had to have one of my guests sleep on the floor because there was no room for them. I feel taken advantage of and would not recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
Room was very clean, and the staff was nice.
- 5/5
The room was great. It was clean, there was a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and desk so I could take care of work while traveling. The entire staff at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. Anytime I had a question, they went above and beyond to take care of me.
- 4/5
The men at the valet were very kind and patient, the people at the front desk were welcoming and friendly. And the rooms were clean and cozy
- 2/5
Has not been updated in a while. Room looked dull and had that old smell to it as well. Ammonites in the room are also outdated. Down to the alarm clock/ radio.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Great location and excellent valet parking team
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful. I do, however, wish there was coffee provided earlier in the morning.
- 2/5
The bathtub filled up when the shower was on so I had to shower in standing water. The room was also very warm and wouldn’t cool down.
- 4/5
Older style Art Deco hotel with the Flying Horse. I was upgraded as an Expedia Gold member. Very central. Only complaint was very slow internet but would recommend.

Older hotel. Bathroom and bedding very clean. Bed is horrible. Location is great and price
- 2/5
Air conditioning was off and had to ask them to fix then when fixed it was freezing and there was no way to make it warmer. The lighting was poor. Elevator wasn’t working at one point while we were there. The only water you could get was on the third floor when you were on the 14th floor.
- 4/5
Clean room and friendly staff. Only problem I had was the toilet seat was kinda small but it didn’t impact my overall experience.
- 3/5
It's a historic hotel that feels trapped in the early aughts. Terrible wifi, so I wasn't able to enjoy the large tv which i intentionally booked for entertainment. Bathroom floor was stained, toilet ran after flushing. The area in the lobby near the elevator smelled of porta potty. My room smelled musty. Elevators take forever. No turndown service. The staff were nice but aloof. Not worth the price, definitely would stay elsewhere. Was pretty mediocre for the price. Bed was comfortable, tub was nice.
- 4/5
Older hotel. Room was clean. Great downtown location. Room was warm. AC did not cool room.
- 3/5
Dated rooms, TVs very old and small
- 5/5
Excellent location, very nice/accomodating staff, beautiful big rooms, very clean. The beds and pillows are so comfortable too! We always choose Magnolia when staying in Dallas, and it will continue to be our go-to!
- 5/5
Me gustó mucho
- 5/5
El personal del hotel muy amable, la ubicación es buena para poder moverse y conocer los puntos céntricos de la ciudad.
- 5/5
Great hotel and location
- 2/5
Too old and not clean enough
- 2/5
Room has very outdated mattress w no topper. Super uncomfortable. Windows havent been cleaned in decades, so theres no real view outside. No water. No coffeepot. Or mini frodge in room. No wifi above a certain floor. Tv is no where near bed. Want to use a microwave? Go to the 25th floor. Room cleaning us by request only (?). I was thuroughly disappointed in this hotel. For all its architectural history they surely dropped the ball. No complimentary breakfast of any kind. No kitchen. Not worth anyones time!
- 5/5
Amazing service ! They upgraded our room . Thank you!!
- 5/5
The room and stay was nice. Check was simple and easy. Valet was a little slow but that’s understanding with the area that the hotel is located. It’s al
- 5/5
everything was great. wish you had a continental breakfast.
- 4/5
Lovely room. Beautiful ceiling in the elevator area. It’s too bad there is not a better coffee shop.
- 1/5
A staff member tried to enter my room in the middle of the night.
- 1/5
I booked my room based on the pictures and description which did not include a separate shower. The tub in the shower did not drain so there were 2 inches of water in the bottom of the shower. I will never book here again. I was doing a stay cation and will go somewhere else.
- 5/5
Staff is great. Room is clean. Bed is comfortable. Location is perfect.
- 5/5
I always love the property, this was even nicer. The Suite was great, as I had a female friend with me. She had her privacy, as did I. A.C. thermostat was kinda squishy, broken Air never turned off. Luckily we both like it cold. We told front desk upon leaving. The stay was great as usual. I wish yall had a rate for UTSW patients. Great stay. Larry Burdette
- 2/5
My booking was for a luxury queen bed in top floors .. I got a room in the 5 th floor with no windows .. toilet didn’t work . Very outdated hotel .. won’t stay there again ..
- 5/5
Showing age, but comfortable and clean
- 5/5
This place was BEAUTIFUL! Great staff as well!!!
- 5/5
Valet was amazing and so easy. Check in was quick and everyone was so friendly.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, room was clean and modern. The area was great to walk around.
- 4/5
Nice hotel and clean room. Centrally located in downtown.
- 1/5
The water in the shower doesn’t drain, the heat doesn’t work in the room. It was freezing all night. Everything was outdated in the room, all the furniture looked like it came from the side of the road. The TVs don’t work. Highly don’t recommend!
- 1/5
Walkable areas
- 5/5
Excellent services , location was brilliant. Exceptional clean
- 3/5
The area of the hotel was very walkable with lots of dining options nearby. The staff was friendly and amenable, though we had minimal interaction. The main issue was that the interior was old. The furniture was outdated and chipped, the carpets and window fittings were very old. The toilet was extremely small. Additionally, the heat in our room did not work and it was FREEZING cold all of the time. Our stay was manageable, but I would not come back.
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly and respectful staff.
- 4/5
Thank you for you service!
- 1/5
Would not check in us in due to one room being to my son age of 19 that the room was paid in full!! Now we cannot get a refund!! For two nights!!
- 4/5
Valet service was great. Front desk were very professional. The hotel looked very good. The room was enough for a night stay. The only thing I would say is I couldn't turn the AC off. There seemed to be no thermostat so it was freezing cold. Other than that the service was great.
- 5/5
perfect
- 3/5
The room could have been cleaner. The staff was fine, it would have been nice to have a microwave and blow dryer in the room. There was a raw sewage smell the second morning. I thought the toilet would over flow but it didn't.
- 4/5
Very nice room but lighting in the room was really bad. You had to open the curtains plus the blinds to get decent light in the room. And the bathroom lighting was just as bad. Good location close to public transport and restaurants. Great coffee place just off lobby which had excellent coffee. Had to ask for them to clean rooms as it is not done automatically each day as with other hotels I have visited.
