Glorietta Bay Inn Coronado Island

It was an upsetting stay the room had a horrible smell and felt so humid when we got there . It took forever to have the room cool down. There was also a water dripper broken that was spraying the front door .

The only complaint was the stained carpet in the room. They need new carpet

Beautiful boutique hotel just opposite the famous Del Coronado hotel. Service was excellent - we were updgraded to a suite after a long period of travelling which was so appreciated and the suite was spacious, cosy, clean and well kept - even had a 'guest of the day' goody bag on arrival! Pool is calm and relaxing and the breakfast was wonderful, lovely selection of food in an elegant setting. Amenities such as laundry etc very good too. Overall would love to be back as soon as possible! Thank you to the wonderful Glorietta Bay inn team, we only wish our stay could have been longer. everything was perfect!

The room was a bit outdated, but clean and in a convenient location on Coronado. The hotel has a small parking lot so try to get there at check-in time. The free breakfast made up for the outdated room!

Overall, though, the location is amazing, the breakfast was different each day and I could tell that I have been freshly prepared. The staff were kind and genuinely helpful.. We come to San Diego every year and we will likely stay here again.

Additional resort fee is ridiculously high and senseless given this property does not have typical resort amenities. Seems more like a motel.

No meat item on breakfast menu. Can Corn beef instead 😬

Parking is a little cramped, little noisy due to traffic proximity to orange ave. Otherwise perfect location to all on Coronado.

I got over charged 500$ twice ??? could of ruined my whole trip. made me wait 3 days to get my money back to do it again... I have not received my money back the 2nd time yet... will not be going back.

The hotel’s location was perfect. We were able to walk to the beach, marina, dining, coffee and shopping while leaving our car parked at the hotel. Room size for 2 was about right. Just a little tight when opening the door with the bed in the way. Probably a bit small for larger families.

The staff were superb, very friendly and helpful. Location was also excellent and convenient to access to beach. The rooms could do with a little updating and breakfast could do with a few more healthier options.

The king bed was a queen bed. You have to pay extra for maid service. The bathroom was tiny. Could barely close the door. The included breakfast included powered eggs and orange water. The soap, shampoo and conditioner plainly read Rosemary Geranium, but all were clearly lemon scented. Having paid a hefty price for the room they should do better. Resort fee of $40.00. In my opinion an unethical cash grab.

This is a beautiful. AT $350/night, though, it seemed a bit overpriced compared to other hotels we stayed on during this trip (not on Coronado Island, though). The room was clean and functional, the pool area was basic but nice. and the lobby area is really nice. Included breakfast was nice (although not as good as reviews said - don't get your hopes overly high). Overall conclusion was it was nice but overpriced.

If you are okay staying in a motel 6 type of room then this place is for you. The rooms are very outdated and the carpet just looks dirty. The staff here were amazing and the complimentary breakfast was really tasty and the staff member was working extremely hard on both days that we were there and making sure that everything was fully stocked. I would love to stay here again but the room quality is just poor.

Breakfast was okay, only one person working in the breakfast area, poor employee, in high season, this area needs to be reformed.

The $50 daily resort fee add-on is unfair. I stayed for one night and left at 3:30AM for an early flight. So, no complimentary breakfast so I asked if the resort fee could be waived and was told the manager that could approve that was out of town??

Everything was a little dated. Also they sneak in a $40 resort fee each day you stay there that was not clearly advertised when booking.

Went to Coronado with my 2 grandsons so they could play in the ocean and on Coronado beach. Hotel never advised me either before arrival or at check-in that the entire Coronado shoreline and beach is CLOSED due to raw sewage contamination from the Tijuana River flowing out of Mexico. Found this out when we walked down to the beach to go swimming and saw the "Closed" signs! Check in time was 4 PM. Arrived at 3:55 and had to wait until 4:30 for our room to be available. Air conditioner in 2nd bedroom was blowing hot air, hotel service tried to repair. Unable to fix, but said he would have someone on the roof next day. Brought us a fan, air was still not working when we checked out. Amenities? - putt putt course - about 10 feet long by 5 feet wide - really? Would never return to this hotel.

The staff were great along with the location. The room was large but the balcony door and entrance need noticeable repair along with carpet on the stairway. The eating room was very charming but plastic cutlery and paper plates were unbecoming of a higher end establishment. The value wasn’t there…

Planned an overnight stay to celebrate our Anniversary but the experience was a huge disappointment. The room was off the main building by the back parking lot without a view and not very well kept up. Hard to believe they charge >$300 a night which is also frustrating since I used all of my onekeycash points from the last 2 years to pay for the room. Not planning to return any time soon.

The hotel was fine, but given the price and the marketing photos on the website, the reality of the room was way off base. My room was in the back where the buildings are old motel style. We flew an out-of-town staff member up for our 2026 planning event. We wanted some place that was safe, convenient, a lovely setting to go walking and this fit the bill without breaking the bank. The staff were great and it was just a wonderful experience. We will do this again!

The two ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. We were new to the area and they provided direction to various places to visit. Additionally very customer service centric as they were both accommodating.

The breakfast that comes with your stay is very basic. The room was in a huge disappointment, it is very old and dated . The carpet was worn and had black stains on it. I honestly did not feel comfortable in that room. The pool we never used we actually went across the street to the Del Coronado and got day passes to use their pool. I ended up leaving early and spending the weekend at the hotel Del Coronado .

This is the second time we have stayed at the Glorietta. Excellent service, clean rooms. All employees are responsive, pleasant and helpful. Great walking town! We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel, main lobby, exterior, front desk service was excellent. Unfortunately, we felt like our room did not match the main hotel. Beds and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The AC kept turning on and off throughout the night and housekeeping knocked on our door at 9am and woke us up trying to flip our room even though we had a 1pm check out.

First, this is theansion of John D. Spreckles, a historical figure in Coronado. But when Expedia tells you everything is included in the price and the hostess put a $50 charge for resort fee, you just realized you got cheated!

it's like a little hidden jewel on Coronado. Rooms are clean and the grounds are very well kept. It seems tropical as you walk down the path to the pool Staff is very friendly Breakfast is wonderful and is just what you need before you head out to explore the shops all within walking distance. The employees make The Glorietta Bay Inn such a welcoming place. They offer rooms of all sizes to accommodate solo travelers to family. I have been staying here over 25 years and will continue to return. I do feel the property needs some updating, however, it is spotlessly clean, room are painted nicely and bedding is comfortable. The included breakfast is delicious with many options.

Great location across the street from the Del, very close to the beach and within walking distance of everything in the town of Coronado. Service was great, friendly and very accommodating. Our room was a little on the older side but clean and roomy with 3 queen sized beds. Our room was close to the main road so a little noisy but all in all, I'd recommend as a much lower cost option to the Del

Raj at front desk was so accommodating and loved the history of the property that he shared. The only thing I didn’t love was the bathroom. I wish they were updated. Otherwise it was great!

The hotel is walking distance to the beach and shops. It was spacious and the breakfasts were good. The carpets were stained and the balcony views were of other balconies and parking lot. I would stay again, but not extra for view. Very safe

Service was friendly. Housekeeping was quick. The suite we were in needs to be remodeled. Very dated look. Bed and sofa squeaking. For the price per night, I could’ve gotten something more modern and cleaner looking. But the service and staff were friendly so that made it easier to stomach.

We only stayed 1 night and got in really late so we didn't get to use the pool but I would stay here again. Beautiful hotel.

Tired is definitely a bit old and tired. Decent location though and the staff was nice.

What a great secret tucked away in a wonderful spot on Coronado Island! The room was spacious and clean. All of the staff was kind and welcoming. The pool and hot tub were both awesome and clean. The beach is 2 minute walk across the street and the hotel has beach towels, chairs and bodyboards for you to use. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and this location.

We were out of the room by 11am everyday and never had housekeeping come clean. I saw a housekeeper outside and asked for towels she said they came by twice before 11am but DND sign was up. So if you’re not an early person you get no service.

Friendly staff, nice rooms, great location!

The Glorietta Bay Inn was fantastic! The convenient location across from the hotel, Del Coronado gave you easy access to the beach for sunsets and morning walks. The staff were incredible and very accommodating with an excellent breakfast every day. We will definitely be back.

Was recommended this hotel for attending a wedding. There were 8 of us. We were all very pleased with the hospitality, cleanliness and the history of the building.

Such a charming place to stay outside of the city of San Diego but also still so close! It’s beautiful and quaint like staying in someone’s home!

Was surprised by the "resort fee" that was buried in the fine print. If you have to pay the fee but don't get anything extra, then it is just part of the room rate, and it is sneaky to add this fee in the fine print. Rooms are really old and look like old Super 8 rooms. The pictures of the lobby (which was very nice and clean) are nothing like the rooms, which are cheap and old. The rooms are more like a "motel" and certainly not the type of room you would expect to have a "resort fee." They should have more accurate pictures of the rooms and be honest about their rates by not having a sneaky resort fee.

Great Boutique Hotel close to the Beach. Friendly and easy to walk to anywhere you need to go!

Our regular place to stay while visiting San Diego.....never disappoints!

Needs a good deep cleaning.

It wasn’t as clean as it should be. Some os the bathroom facilities were very grubby and the stains on the carpet were awful. Staff at the front desk were helpful but couldn’t off much in the way of tourist advice.
