I loved the quaintness of this place it was awesome! It was so clean and they have everything you need, right down to a box fan if you need air circulation! Loved it will highly recommend and I will be returning!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay! The front desk staff was very friendly and full of great tips for our stay! They have toy bags for the kids. The room was very clean and everything worked. Beds were comfortable. Mini fridge was a good size and worked well. We got a coupon to the Bistro next door for breakfast. Parking in the back was easy. If you like playing tennis, there are some open public courts behind the inn. Pay to use laundry room. Plenty of ice for the cooler. Definitely will be back!

Fantastic welcome from Staff - super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the area! The room was clean and well prepared, loved having the small refrigerator and microwave if needed. Incredibly comfortable beds too! The breakfast at the bistro was hands-down one of our favorites! 10 out of 10 for us!

I had such a lovely stay! The rooms were quaint and clean, and the location is ideal for walking to many great restaurants and shops. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I'll be visiting again!

It was a very clean room - I requested a sunny room and got one - very happy with that. My particular room was very well laid out - had a fridge, microwave and nice bathroom. And especially a washing machine and drying downstairs!

All the staff was very kind and helpful! I broke one of their quality clothes irons by dropping it on the floor! Although I insisted on paying for it, they would not let me! I would definitely recommend Crown City Inn... but a word of caution- don't get it confused Coronado Island Inn on the same street ;)

We really enjoyed our stay overall and felt it was a great value with a great location, great amenities, free bike rentals, and very friendly & helpful staff. There were not enough toiletries, specifically not enough toilet paper, and no body wash. Also, the room was compact.

Our favorite and only place we stay on Coronado. Beds are comfortable, property is clean and feels safe. Pool and outdoor area are lovely and staff is always friendly and helpful! It’s nice to see the same faces every year we come. We also love the free bikes that are available to use, as well as beach chairs, wagon, etc

We needed a clean, safe, solid place for a quick trip to SD. The people were super nice. The parking is tight, but it worked. It's an older Spanish courtyard styled hotel, but: location, location, location and price, price price.

Welcoming, helpful front desk staff. Love the clean room with coffee maker, fridge, microwave & Comfortable beds. Cleaning staff very friendly and professional. Rode the complimentary bicycles, and although we were grateful, it was challenging finding ones that weren’t rusted out and unsafe. Hopefully next time they’ll be in better shape. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a great spot to stay while in Coranado. It is centrally located on the island and it is easy to walk many places. We visit often and will stay here going forward. The breakfast at the bistro was delicious!

We love this quaint little hotel. This is where we stay when coming to San Diego. It’s always very welcoming and comfortable and only a short drive over the bridge to the big city. We love eating breakfast at the little Bistro located inside the hotel.

Crown City Inn in Coronado is such a unique gem. I typically only stay in big ‘upscale’ hotels and unless they’re truly distinguished I don’t like them very much. The Crown’s beach motel vibe was perfect, it’s charming, quant, clean, and perfectly situated. Getting out of the bustle that is downtown SD, and taking retreat at the Crown was a great choice. I was the envy of my team, all of whom were stuck in some mediocre mainstream hotel in the city. Without a doubt I’ll stay here the next time I have business in SD.

The service was excellent. Our room was meticulously cleaned every day. Loved the fact that we didn't have to bring our own beach umbrellas and beach toys since the hotel was able to provide these. The location was also great since it is just a few minutes away from the "main" Coronado spots. Everything was much better than we expected. The rooms were better than the actual pictures.

The front desk staff was nice and since I arrived after 9 pm with no parking on property she offered her parking space. That was truly appreciated. The restaurant next door serves an amazing breakfast. The room was hot and stuffy. The air conditioner was flashing red lights in need of service. Didn't like that staff were smoking at the back of the building next to where I was parking. Each time I went to my car someone was there smoking. :(

The place is great and walking distance to everything. Room was clean and customer service was excellent. I saw negative reviews about parking...the parking in front is a little tight, but the lot in the alley always had spots and was easy to get in and out. If you need your window open, it is a little noisy in the morning because it's such an enclosed space.

1. Quiet - The rooms are advertised as soundproof and they appear to be. Our room was near busy Orange Avenue but street noise was barely discernible and adjoining room noise was nonexistent. 2. Shower pressure was GREAT. I loved the renovated tile shower. 3. Adequate light and dark - there were plentiful lighting options and we loved the touch control night stand lights so much that we are looking for them for our bedroom at home. Also, the configuration of the bathroom kept the lights in there from shining directly at the bed. Plantation shutters on the front windows kept the room dark at night. 4. Temperature control - we used the AC during the warmest part of the day and kept the fan on at night for a consistent sound and airflow. Very comfortable. 5. Walkability - the Inn is midway between the ocean side of the island and the bay side. There were beach cruisers available, but we hoofed it down to an eating spot and then on to the ocean beach near the Del. It was a nice walk. Would definitely stay again!

Clean. Have all the things you need during a trip. Not new but good to use. Quiet. Limited on site parking. But we could find street parking outside so at least not crossing the street with little children and luggages.

This was such a lovely location. We came here for our anniversary. There was a free Coronado shuttle that we took to and from the beach as well as to restaurants. The breakfast bistro next door was delicious.

Great property, beach cruisers and chairs are available with no fee. It was a quick ride(or 20 minute walk) to the beach and walkable to the ferry too. Highly recommend. We will be back!

We had a great stay at the Crown City Inn. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but based on the excellent reviews, I was optimistic. Our room was on the first floor, and I was concerned about noise from the second floor, but there was none. The room was clean and updated, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. There was plenty of room for two of us and our luggage. It was convenient to have a refrigerator and microwave. The reception area was welcoming with fresh iced tea, cookies, and filtered water. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly. The pool area was comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting out there in the late afternoon. Loved that there were bikes for us to use, and we rode them out to the beach one day to explore and watch the sunset. Parking was usually full in the main area, but we had no problem parking in the designated spots in the alley immediately behind the property. It was also an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Everything felt very safe, and we would definitely return.

You can't beat the location. It's in walking distance to the ferry landing and the beach. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop nearby. We never used our car once we parked. They have bikes, beach chairs, and umbrellas for the guests to use. We will definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay at Crown City Inn. Lovely room, we opted for room with jacuzzi tub (big tub). Room had super high ceiling. Bright, clean and fresh. We really appreciated the all day tea, water and coffee. The daily cookies were delicious and very thoughtful. A wonderful perk also was the loan out of bicycles, beach chairs and boogie boards. Would definitely stay here again. Grocery store nearby and walk to restaurants.

This is such a great place to stay in Coronado. Walking distance to everything and bicycles available to borrow. Easy to catch the ferry to San Diego and catch a Padres game or tour the USS Midway.

It's a great location and very good property. You're on the main drag on Coronado - about 1/2 mile from the Del and 1/2 mile from the frontage that overlooks the San Diego skyline. The rooms are somewhat small, but not overly. Everything works well. Staff is good. Cookies in the afternoon! Free bikes to use! Loved biking the island. VERY walkable area. Off the main drag and you're into all residential areas. Quiet, nice. Enjoy.

I was pleasantly surprised by this property! It’s wholly welcoming with practical amenities. We came relatively unprepared to spend time at the beach, but was really grateful to be able to borrow beach chairs and umbrellas. Also jumped on the cruiser bike to explore the island. Facility is clean, reasonably priced, and warm. 100% will be back!

We love this motel! We stay here whenever we go to San Diego. I like how the rooms were remodeled. It's convenient having the restaurant as part of the motel even though it's a bit expensive. It would be nice if there was a free continental breakfast in the lobby. Muffins, bagels, fruit--something simple for those of us on the go. It's nice they already have coffee in the lobby and the water machine to refill our water containers with cold water rather than using plastic bottles. There's parking on the street which feels safe. It's a magical little town. Lots of happy memories of staying there.

The property was very quaint, clean and easily accessible. You cannot beat the price in Coronado! The small dining cafe/bistro on premises was superb, whether it be a nice relaxing cold brew in the morning or a very nice dinner alfresco. Delicious meals! I highly recommend The Crown Inn!

My only complaint is that the gym is not on property and it’s hard enough to motivate myself to work out on vacation let alone leave the property to work out

Fantastic hotel in Coronado. Property is very quiet and very well kept. They have a restaurant attached as well. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach. Also walking distance to the bay side of the island. They have a pool but we did not use it. Rooms were fantastic. Well sized with amazing bathrooms. Strong AC as well. Filtered water, as well as coffee, tea, and iced tea in the lobby. No doubt we will be staying here again.

Great option when visiting Coronado! My friends were in town staying at the Del - their room was 4x the price and not as big as this one, did not have microwave, no free beach toys and chairs and bikes to use! Very friendly property and cozy, clean comfy room and bed. Would recommend and return!

We have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel every August for the last 5 years. We love the incredible staff and amazing hospitality. The hotel is clean, charming and absolutely perfect!!! I look forward to returning next year.

The location for Crown City Inn, is very convenient to things to do in Coronado and it is easy to get to downtown San Diego via the water taxi. The onsite Bistro is wonderful as well.

The Santa Barbara Casita we stayed in was amazing! Everyone that works there was cheerful and very helpful. The breakfasts were so delicious! The location was perfect. Quiet neighborhood. We walked to the pier, funk zone, and up state street. We will definitely stay here again!

What is there not to like. This is our beautiful get away when we go every time to Coranado Island. All the beautiful people that work there are special and deserve a star ⭐️ for the day. I love the cleanliness of the entire premises. The rooms have hard wood floors which is a big plus! Another big plus is having free parking. This inn is in a very nice area to walk around-not far from Hotel Coronado. We ate breakfast at the Bistro and the pancakes were delicious. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.

Our star at Crown City Inn was exactly what we wanted - very QUIET property with clean comfortable beds. Bathroom is small but had nice tiled step-in shower. Very helpful staff with pleasant attitudes. And the Bistro on property offers an awesome breakfast. Bathroom could benefit from overhead fan.

Beautiful and charming inn. Enjoyed the delicious complimentary coffee and cookies for snacks. Friendly customer service at the front desk. Marcia, (love her laugh and smiles), and Keith and Linda are also wonderful! Enjoyed the breakfast at the Crown Bistro Restaurant next door. Very good service by the waitress ( sorry, i forgot her name). Everyone is welcoming and helpful! Keith was able to check us in early because our flight to SD was early, we appreciate that very much! We enjoyed using the bikes everyday provided by the hotel for free to use around the beautiful town. The bikes worked well but needed new paint and some chains are rusty. Rooms are nice, clean and cute. Just needing small side tables next to the beds. Beds very comfy but the size is only double beds, wish there were two queen size beds, but overall, comfy and manageable. Nice a/c and hard wood floors. Very clean and the housekeepers are always friendly and always smiling.

Great atmosphere very welcoming. Rooms were not fancy but had everything we needed. Beds could be a little more comfortable. Very cute little place. Great central location to everything in Coronado. Parking lot very tight but parking in back alley with easy access worked out just fine. Would definitely stay again.

I would suggest that you check to see if there are any events on the island during your stay. We were there during Memorial Day weekend and didn’t realize there was a concert Saturday night. The front and back parking lots were full, along with all close side streets. Ultimately we had to park several blocks away and walk to our hotel room. This won’t prevent us from staying here again, but I’ll definitely check to see if there are any events scheduled during my stay!

Suggest asking to move if you are allocated room 218. It's above the restaurant and the generator, a/c and refrigerator combined, made you feel like you were at the airport about to take off, but once I was moved, everything was much better.

Outstanding staff and very quiet place, we had a very relaxing time and all the staffs were very nice and friendly.

Very pretty and clean! Great location and friendly service! My only complaint was the noise from upstairs. We could hear thumping every time someone walked around. The worst was early in the morning when the guest was getting ready to check out, followed by cleaning services right after. I couldn't get back to sleep.

Loved Coronado and we were so sad to leave!

Crown City Inn was a great place to stay during our visit to Coronado. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to borrow chairs and body boards to play in the ocean, and later we borrowed a couple bikes to ride around town on. And breakfast at the Bistro was very good!

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They put a beautiful touch with a card, balloons, and flowers for my husband's 50th birthday. The room was clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. The bistro on the property was wonderful for breakfast and the town center is walkable from here. It was perfect for our little getaway and would stay here again. Thank you for making our stay memorable!

The hotel is cute. It had a very comfy bed and pillows. Room was cleaned every day. Only problem was that some nights, some kind of motor was left running which was noisy and made it difficult to sleep. Had a nice restaurant. The location was great. Easy walk to ferry and Del Coronado

It was a cute and quaint property but we could here the people in the adjacent rooms.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water in the lobby. Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. If you're snobby about hotels or are not planning to leave your room, you probably won't like. So go spend $500/night at the del.

This is an older style 2 storey motel. However, all the rooms have been fully renovated and are very comfortable. Shower has good pressure, bed was comfy, good size fridge, good size TV, ....The room has a modern looking vibe . However , room is smallish, but does the trick. Nice location. Pool fully renovated. Fresh coffee in the office. I would stay here again. Parking is also free.

This is a comfortable hotel in a great location. It’s a short walk to the ferry to San Diego and less than a mile to the beach. The room is a bit small, but comfortable. The front desk person was quick to help when we needed anything. We love that bikes are available to ride all over the beautiful Coronado Island.

Comfortable, clean, well appointed, reasonably priced motel in a location that makes all of Coronado walkable. My family has stayed here many times over the last couple of decades, an we'll be back again!

We booked a night here unexpectedly to extend our stay and we were dissatisfied w the accommodations where we were staying before here. What a nice surprise it was to experience this charming and accommodating place. The man at the front desk was incredibly helpful, friendly a d just such a kind human being. His welcoming assistance and the cleanliness and charm of this establishment made our last day a special one. We will be back again!

This is a fabulous, comfortable, quaint spot on the island right on Orange Street. We will absolutely be back! It is pet friendly and even our dog loved it. You must eat at Crown Bistro for breakfast and for dinner. Amazing. Truly.

It’s like an old fashioned motor court. It is clean, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Parking is limited but you can park in the alley. We loved it.

Pool is under construction but November is not pool weather anyway.

Lovely little boutique hotel

We stayed here for one night for an anniversary trip, but ended up having to bring our sick baby. The restaurant staff was very accommodating to us when we ordered our food to go. In a nice area to walk in.

Property is a 1940s 2-story type motel. Rooms are clean, have cable tv and updated fixtures in good repair. Coffee and cookies in office. There is a restaurant which we did not visit (went out with relatives) but was full Sunday when we left. A few parking places in the courtyard, made smaller by green construction fences, more spaces in back alley and along street. Linda was most accommodating. All rooms had battery lamps, flashlights, and extra blankets/comforters for the blackout. She gave us a complimentary extra hour to check out due to the run . We were a couple blocks from local businesses, and maybe a mile from the Del Coronado and start of Silver Strand. Expensive for a motel (well it's a beach town in SoCal) but nicer than others in the vicinity--brother 2 blocks away had a smaller room same price--and $100s less than next tier.

Adorable boutique hotel (motel style )! We lived our brief stay. Rooms recently renovated and very charming. As a seasoned travelers I appreciated an exterior mirror so that two people can get ready. Would definitely stay again and be sure to eat at the bistro next door!

Very nice staff, beautiful grounds & excellent location. Room was very clean & our dog received a wonderful treat bag. Unfortunately the bathroom sink had multiple cracks, tv had a red line running vertically thru it and air conditioner was very loud & turned on/off every few minutes which made it hard to sleep. Because of poor room maintenance we wouldn’t stay there again.

The other lady who first welcomed us was not the first day but after few days she was watching us get coffee/ sugar etc… it’s like she does not want us to get . I’ve been to other hotels on the island and this is by far the best as far as peace and quiet. I really enjoyed my stay here. I’ll give it five stars out of five stars.

Love the charm of this property. The staff was excellent, the lobby offers refreshments and you can borrow their beach accessories at no cost. My friends and I also really enjoyed their bike rental and the pool! Overall it was a great location and excellent accommodations. The dining looked cozy too, but we didn't try it! Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Comfortable and great value

The attentiveness to customer service was outstanding. We needed to extend our stay by one day last minute and they were able to juggle accommodations so that we didn't need to switch rooms. This property offers comfortable beds, microwave, a small refrigerator, laundry facilities along with dining next door. Many return customers which says everything!! Highly recommend!

Affordable option in excellent Coronado location. Small pool, bikes to borrow, and excellent dining option for breakfast & lunch (dinner on Th, Fr, Sa during summer months only - locals and visitors love it!). Park / playground a block away. Coronado's shuttle bus (free in summer months) has a stop directly in front so it's great to go up & down Orange Ave from one end of the island to another. Parking can be a challenge - only enough spaces for half the rooms and shared with employees - but street parking is not too hard to find. We would definitely stay there again!

Check-in was awesome. Friendly and fast, and they were able to get us into our room a bit early. Location is amazing. Right in the middle of everything. We brought our bikes so getting around was super easy, but they also have a bunch of beach cruisers that are free for guests to use. Everything is clean and well maintained. Room was decent sized and very bright. The pool area is a nice little oasis and was never crowded. Parking would be a struggle in a larger vehicle, and if you're lucky enough to snag one of the 6 courtyard spots, it's very convenient. Quick walk to the Bayside Market and liquor store. Quick ride to the beach. Grabbed the ferry to San Diego one morning and had a great time. One of the best places we've stayed. Fantastic boutique hotel. Don't hesitate!

I was woken up at midnight by a constant buzzing sound that persisted until 6 am. The noise stopped briefly for about an hour before starting again. After some investigation, I discovered that it was the refrigerator causing the disturbance. Be aware of this issue before booking your stay.

The Crown City Inn is an older, but nicely updated hotel that matches the Coronado vibe very well. Great courtyard in the middle provides a haven from the busy traffic on Orange Avenue in front. Only challenge is insufficient parking, but we did get the last open spot and did not move the car once there. Not a problem because we could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go because location is very good on Orange Avenue. Hi-light of the stay was the Crown Bistro restaurant attached to the hotel. Dinner was exceptional. Breakfast was excellent. Don't miss getting dinner by going other places when such a good restaurant is right there on property.
