Pool was closed: no mention on there site or Expedia. Walls in elevator dirty. Dust balls behind chair in room. I understand they’re under construction but a little wipe and proper sweeping goes a long way.

Hotel under renovation and no messages on site that notified patrons. Swimming pool is closed. Breakfast undeserved. Overall hotel experience is poor. I would like a partial refund for the duration of the stay because it was an uncomfortable stay and my children were disappointed with the lack of amenities.

The rooms were clean and remodeled but with the construction there is no pool and the 3rd floor smells like Long John Silvers. Not in the room but in the hallway.

Upon arrival we were informed that the pool was not available. We had booked this hotel specifically because of the pool. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and we just wanted to swim, eat, and chat by the pool. We got our key and went up to our room only to discover another guest in it! Yep, they actually gave us a key to another guest's room and we opened their door much to all of our surprise. That was really unsettling. We went to front desk to get another room key. We shared that we hoped they weren't planning to charge us for our stay because the one amenity we needed wasn't available and we were not informed of that before booking and now we were sent to an occupied room that made us very nervous about staying there. Once we got to our room it was absolutely not clean. The sheets appeared to be washed but they were stained. There were toothpaste splatters on the mirror, conditioner smeared on the shower wall, hair on the shower curtain, it was not a good feeling. I was told that I would receive a refund but have yet to get my money back. Never staying here again. Don't recommend anyone stay here. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Stayed 3 nights here for a business trip. It’s under construction but no bother on that part. Breakfast was the same thing for the first two nights and was okay but would rather eat elsewhere. Room service did not show up on the second day and I found a live roach in the room by the night stand. Unfortunately my sleep was also disturbed on four separate occasions. The first night there were guest in the parking lot talking really loudly and drinking until at least 2am. And again I was woken up 3 times the last night by a crying baby down the hall, some hotel guest yelling out to someone else, and a couple fighting loudly in the parking lot. So no, I will not stay here again and would not recommend this place.

The bed was comfortable Bathroom door opened up an inch from the toilet. Sink was outside the bathroom. Breakfast selection was less than expected. eating area was nondescript

As of early June 2026, the motel is undergoing a branding change which involves a lot of remodeling. There is no signage on the building to help find it, you have to park in the back parking lot and come in the back door, and things are in disarray. We had to have our room recleaned the day we moved in because there was hair in the bathroom, the floors needed to be mopped, and the bathtub drain was not draining properly. Also we were there for 4 days and had the exact same breakfast every single day. No variation.

The hotel was clean for the most part and the beds were comfortable...despite the loud noise from the remodeling they had going on there. I was not pleased with a few of the staff members. The manager was never available when I needed to speak with him. I dont even know his name. There is a lady named Fran or Jan who I felt was harassing me and my child during my whole stay which was approximately a month. I informed the other staff of my concerns and of course nothing was done about it. She continued constantly calling my room, my personal phone while I was at work after she was told not to and knocking on our room door while we slept. She was very rude and annoying. They are also very unorganized. I was forced to pay a $100 deposit in cash vs on my debit card. When it was time for me to check of the room at 11:00 am Andy, the man at the front proceeded to tell me that they did not know what happened my deposit and that I would have to wait until shift change at 3 pm before I could find out where my money was. When the time came I got the same story from the next girl. I checked out at 11 am but I didn't receive my deposit until after 6 pm that evening. That is unexceptable. Me and my child also had the manager threaten to call the police on us just because we were sitting on the stairwell outside the hotel with our belongings waiting for someone to come and pick us because I dont have my own vehicle. Not very professional at all. 10 out 10 I would never recommend this hotel to anyone just based on my experience with the staff. They also do not have very much amenities for the guest. A pool and a gym is all and the breakfast was terrible. A laundry room for guest who have extended stays would have been great..but no. Very disappointing

The room was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy and the staff was friendly and informative. The rooms are being refreshed and it is noticeable. That being said, there is still some construction going on but it is minimal and didn't affect our stay. Price was a good value. Would stay here again if driving through

The front of the building is under renovation at the moment- ngl, my heart sank when we pulled up. But the inside is lovely! Breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, and the room was great. The coffee machine in the lobby was fun too!

Bathroom was disgustingly dirty. I mentioned to management and they said they will have someone handle it but the bathroom was not cleaned the entire stay. Looked like all the did was just swap sheets and nothing more. The breakfast also upset my stomach the entire day. For being close to a college and a 2 day stay very disappointed

Had to switch rooms 3 times due to stains on the sheets in one room and a bed filled with dog hair in the other. Would not recommend staying at this hotel if it was the last hotel available.

Checked in late and they were very nice about it. Rooms were clean and updated. Breakfast was easy and simple.

A/c was quirky, interstate traffic was a bit louder than I expected and didn’t know it was under renovations in lobby.

It is what it is - a serviceable hotel. A couple of annoying things - the soap and conditioner were pretty close to empty and the place is under construction, so you enter through the back door. Area is convenient enough.

Save your time and money. To begin the rooms weren’t ready until 1 hour after 3pm check in, so we had to wait. Rooms smell really bad. No soap in rooms or shampoo or conditioner and liquid body soap. Called front desk, dominique was kind enough to tell me, yeah sure come down and get it. Pool was out of service. Front entrance was closed for repair so have to go around the hotel. Coffee machines at night are out of service because they don’t take out the grind coffee so they are out of service until someone says something or staff decide to get out of their phones. Breakfast is limited, fyi no pancakes. If something runs out someone has to go to the front desk to tell them to bring or refill anything. Only one who was really helpful was yanet, the cleaning lady. She went above and beyond. Travelers, this is my experience, you have been warned. Safe travels.

Room had the landlord special paint down. Windows don’t open.. fine. I didn’t think the chip thing in the other review would be an issue but it was. The skin in the building is still the old hotel sign. It doesn’t say lake Norman in and suites. I booked a suite for me and the fam and only one tv worked. The air conditioning unit was falling apart. Pool was closed. Cleaning lady didnt come by not one time during my 3 day 2 night stay. Overall cheap got us through the weekend.

Overall decent establishment. My only complaint is my air unit did not work (room 219) I unfortunately fell asleep and didn't realize until about 3 am the following morning. I was getting up at 5 anyway so I said screw it not worth the trouble. I told the desk upon checking out. I'd definitely stay again. Just not in 219 lol

The hotel sign had a different name from the name we booked under. We drove past it a couple of times before we realized it was our hotel. It looked like a building in disrepair. The rooms were not clean- we traveled with family and had two rooms. The bathrooms were dirty, with dark streaks on the floor, the soap and shampoo dispensers had not been refilled, there was tissue wrapped over the peephole in the door, and a stale smell in the room. The hallways were not much better. The staff was okay, tried to help but were somewhat defensive when I expressed our discontent. Very glad we only had to spend one night here.

The amenities were great. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I will return next time I am in the area.

Great staff, clean rooms, under construction during stay but the noise was never heard. Quiet safe area with trees surrounding, no noise from the interstate even with a room facing the interstate.

My room was not clean up to normal standards. There was clearly dirt on the floor and in the bathroom, there was no list for tv channels, the remote was filthy, the beds had hair / dust and dirt on and in them.

Great stay. The name change fooled us. It took 3 tries to find the back entrance. One we were in, it was a very good experience.

Third time at that hotel. When I came in the clerk was sitting in the lounge with two ladies (one with her dog), he then got up to answer me at the front desk. He asked me to initialize a form for non-smoking and no pets. Around 8 PM, a dog barked twice and once in the morning. WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF SIGNING A FORM WITH A DOG WELCOMING ME AND BARKING ON SECOND FLOOR? The room was neat and fresh but no glasses except the sink was all cracked and in great need for a change. Breakfast was not ready at 6 AM, no lights on in the dining room (I turned them on myself) and people waiting. Someone knocked at the attendant door, at 6:15, he got out with his stuff. I don’t think we will go back a fourth time.

Room was roomy There was no name on the building to know where you were going during your renovations. Bathroom floor was sticky and dirty as well as the bedroom floor . Under the bed looks like it hadn’t been swept. Towels didn’t look clean had black marks from makeup as though they weren’t thoroughly cleaned. It would be good to have the dogs in a separate area of the building because they bark all night and day. Children running up and down the hall day and night. No security on the back door the deadbolt is open so the door never shuts all the way where you’re supposed to use your room key to get in. No automatic door hard to get the cart in while holding the door. Given a cheap plastic bucket at the front desk to get my ice in.

The property is currently going through renovations, so it looks a little haggard from the outside. However, my room was nice. The noise level in the morning was a little offsetting. I mentioned it to the desk person and was met with a bit of an attitude. I would still consider staying here in the future, but I need to follow-up with the manager about this stay first.

The room was very clean, comfortable bed. No bedside lamps. No drinking cups in room. Received a Handicap room, as requested, but the safety bar in the bathtub actually pulled out of the wall, and the tub bottom was quite slippery.

The only thing I didn’t enjoy was being able to hear the elevator ding all night and the walls were thin enough to hear the joining room’s tv in the night and alarm go off in the morning. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

Location is excellent, close to I-77 but not noisy. It's in a charming suburb with a nice downtown, Cornelius, and near Davidson, with highly-reputed Davidson College which has a beautiful campus. Nearby Lake Norman is large, pretty and lined with beautiful homes.

The staff support was terrible. I got put out before my first night stay for complaining about the poor condition of my room. I paid for two nights and gave them a security deposit and they haven't refunded anything.

Room was just okay. Bed was fine but very basic as far as linens. Frig was dirty. Tub drain did not close completely, allowing water to drain while trying to soak. Although breakfast started @ 7am, the coffee machine was being cleaned at 8am thereby delaying having coffee with breakfast.

the room was great, I parked right outside the door. Staff wad very helpful with all my questions. The only issue was no TV service. System was being upgraded by Spectrum, supposed to be done by Monday, never showed up to finish the job.

I came in late around close to 11pm or so and said hi to the front desk clerk and she didn't acknowledged nor respond to my greeting. I said hi again and again but then there's still no response from her (she was on her phone)... Then she realized that I'm in front of her from her view against the glass window with the reflection of mine. And she said i startled her. Other than that, she customer service is ok. When going toward our assigned room, from the front lobby to the elevator to our room, most are covered with plastic linings on the carpet from the renovation i think, and inside the elevator's floor are partially ripped from the renovation work as well. The room we were in was with some minor spots of stains (dried blood or some sort), from the window curtains and from the bathroom's wall. The pillows are with a couple of long hair strings as well. Not to mention the surroundings of the premises are mostly accompanied with lots of dumped mattresses and old furniture and their main, front entrance are being blocked with yellow construction tapes (renovation work). Overall experience was ok. Nothing major to report other than the renovation work allover the premises. Oh, the room didn't have any iron/iron board for use, and asking them without any spare for use either. We might give it another shot (after the renovation work).

This place is under construction and should not really be open. An entire hallway is covered in plastic. The elevator moves so slowly that it feels unsafe. There were people screaming in the room next to mine. I left and asked for a refund.

Room wasn’t cleaned. Bed wasn’t made and trash was everywhere in original room. In new room the floors were not cleaned and the couch was broken and looked diseased. Hotel is going under renovations in hallways which is fine and I’m not speaking on that. I’m talking about the quality of cleaning in rooms. Was nasty.

And I am not someone who needs pristine conditions; I have stayed in plenty of budget hotels. The hotel is doing renovations, so there are some areas where there is tape on the ground, areas closed off, etc., which was not an issue. That did not bother us. What did is that the room was disgusting. I cannot imagine it had been cleaned recently. Black stuff was coming out of the air conditioner, the couch looked like it had been pulled straight from a dumpster, there was a creepy bug on the curtains, the floor looked dirty, there was no soap or any toiletries at all in the bathroom, no iron or place to hang clothes, a hair dryer that smelled like it was on fire when I turned it on, and the sink felt greasy. We just needed a place to sleep and were leaving early the next morning, or else we would've immediately left and found somewhere else. Please, if you are reading this, just pick a different hotel!!!!

The room was nasty. The toilet had not been cleaned. There was urine all over the toilet seat. One of the beds looked like it had been laid in after it had been made.

Cigarette fumes in the hallways from the workers. No TV service in first room, second room did not have working lights. Hair from prior guest on shower wall: EEWW!. No housekeeping: informed at checkout that had to be specially requested. No cups in room. Stayed only because of low cost and convenient location. Never again. Credit to the friendly staff.

The property was undergoing a remodel at the time of my visit. Not just part or a floor at a time, the entire building. We had two rooms and neither was completed. We even changed a room and still the same. I am a building contractor and I understand dust and delays but the rest of my party was very unsatisfied. When doing a remodel and still charging full price for rooms they need to be finished and clean. The smoke detector in the room wasn't even installed yet and there was no fire escape plan posted in the rooms. Where I come from that is a major violation. I kept my mouth shut so as not to create anymore issues with our stay. In the end we stayed for all 4 nights and didn't bother looking for another motel. Maybe next year when we visit they will be completed and it will be one of the nicer motels in the area.

The staff was trying, but it literally was staying inside a full blown construction zone, with dust everywhere and materials stacked on the floor basically everywhere including hallways. Probably is a great hotel, but shouldn't even be open in this current condition

Condition of hotel was atrocious. It was under construction and no one disclosed that when we booked. The room was not clean, and the beds were not well made. We ended up leaving and staying somewhere else. They were understanding. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The place was under construction but they should not be letting guests stay in unfinished rooms. There were wires hanging out, moldings missing, etc but the worst part was how filthy it was. And the privacy lock was missing.

Even though they were renovating the hotel was super clean, smelled wonderful and still provided all of their amenities. The staff was very friendly and they took safety very seriously. Upon checking in the desk clerk didn’t announce my room number aloud: and they had a sign that all deliveries are to be left at the front with prevents strangers from having direct access to your room. Also when he handed my id and card back my address was on the bottom so as not to be seen. I don’t know if that was intentional or not but as a woman who typically travels and stays alone I was so grateful and I felt so safe there. This will be my new preferred hotel stay!

The whole hotel was under construction. Dust every where. There wasn't even a number on the outside of our door to find our room. We walked up and down the hall 2 times to find our room. They cut the water off to the whole hotel in the middle of the day without any warning. None of the lights were plugged in so when you walked in everything was dark and you had to plug it in your self. The water would never get hot in the shower. You also could not pull up to the door to unload your bags because of construction.

Flooring in elevator was coming up and looked like it had been attempted to be taped down. Had to use the outlet behind my bed to charge my electronics and saw drywall dust or something on the floors. The bedding had stains on them and was questionable if they were cleaned. Construction stuff every where. When we got breakfast the bagels were hard as a rock, the orange juice came out thick like a smoothie… ended up not trying anything else there. The hotel is under construction, our first room had no AC, our replacement room had no switches on lamps, brown/black stains on the blankets that we saw in the morning, and water in shower that never got hot. Shouldn’t be open in this state.

The stay was okay . There wasn’t any bed bug which is what I was concerned about . But over all the hotel was dirty & hot . The ice container had dirt left around the rim of the top . There was hair left in the sheets , the tub flooded , the carpet was ripped up by the door , the door did not close all the way unless you forcibly shut it , there was dirty rags and cups left around the room , and it was HOT . Took us leaving the air conditioning on 62 just to get some type of coolness & had to use personal fan as well . The breakfast wasnt giving at all , But it was free so I guess there’s that . Over all , it’s alright for a quick night to lay your head but wouldn’t recommend for a vacation stay . We definitely will not be returning .

The breakfast is A1. Hands down the best coffee. I have No desire to lodge anywhere else when in Cornelius/Lake Norman. They are renovating the property but that’s not ever been a problem either. Try it out. They will not disappoint!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰

Stayed one night as a over night travel it worked for us to sleep. But it’s just not ideal outdated. Breakfast was apple and yogurt and coffee not a big variety

It was a decent place to stay at we was t told that the pool was closed until my wife got in the water and someone told them that it was closed because it’s being renovated and nothing was going on at all all u could do is cut by the pool but u can’t swim

It was convenient for what we had to do and comfortable.

Check was quick, I was tired after being in a class all day, so I really appreciated that. The room was a smoking room which I didn't realize I reserved, there were ashes in the drawer, the bedside table, the refrigerator, and the ice bucket. The window drapes were filthy. The bed linen was stained and a mouse ran across the floor. I guess its needless to say I did not stay. The young lady at the registration desk was extremely apologetic and had no problem with issuing my refund. The hotel seems to be in a nice area, that was extremely convenient to where I had to go with many restaurants and shopping to choose from. I hate my experience was not pleasant, and hope no one else has to experience what I did!

The hotel itself on the other hand is in terrible shape.They still had smoking rooms so the hallways smelled. Half of the floor we stayed on was under construction so instead of stale smoke smell is was noxious fumes and dust. Not just like paint fumes either…but like refinishing tile or something you shouldn’t be breathing in. They really should have done construction a whole floor at a time. The room itself was rundown, filled with neglected and shoddy repairs. Most concerningly was mold in the sink and in the shower. I mean how terrible of a job does the cleaning staff do that mold is even present at all? Luckily we got in late and left early so all we did is sleep. My only advice would be the new owner should reduces rates 20% until construction is complete, step up the cleaning crews and get rid of smoking rooms. Most importantly I would inform people of the current condition. On the plus side it wasn’t ghetto, nice convenient location. It definitely has potential but for literally a couple dollars more I’d recommend booking elsewhere until this hotel is finished. When renovations are complete I would give them a second chance. 3 star may be generous currently but could improve very easily.

Everything was great except the air conditioner was so loud! Overall, I was satisfied with the experience, but bring some earplugs, just in case.

Everyone was exceptional !

Bathroom shower/tub was dirty. Remodel work was supposed to start at 9am but started at 7:30am and was very loud. Wellness check on a guest a few doors down was alarming and a little disturbing. This was not staff's fault and they were as polite and discreet as possible.

My only complaints is the room was a tad bit outdated and needed some small repairs. I absolutely loved that we could tell that the cleaning crew had been in but did not love the heavy aroma of cleaning solution left behind. We will definitely be back though.

Phone was not hooked up and computer in the lobby was not activated.

Grossest dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been too, skid mark stains in toilet, shower was leaking constant stream, green / brown tub, stains all over the chair, carpet was horrific. Musty mildew smell, was hot. Never will be back again.

The tub was very old and all of the towels, face and hand, were dingy and some dirty.

Spent several nights there, clean rooms, awesome customer service. There was construction going on but management was willing to work with me to accommodate my request for the most quiet room, even offered to work with me to cancel my reservation to another nearby property. I decided not to move out and I was not disappointed. I will be back!

Loved the facility, loved the area

Sheets were dirty. Laid on top of covers and covered up with a towel. Had a long day of travel and was too tired to complain. Bathroom not clean.

We left the first room with bags in hand and went down to the lobby to report our findings, and to request a another room. The manager was apologetic and promptly gave us a different room. We appreciate that! It was cleaner, thank goodness, and the furniture a little better. One of the bedside lamp shades had spots of stain that looked like a cup of coffee had sprayed up onto it. The AC was not running, so I pulled the plug out, and plugged it back in. It worked the remainder of the stay. The drapes in the room were full length and would block the AC vents if drawn together, so we made do with the netted drapes, but come sunrise the room was too light to sleep soundly. We are generally easy to please and don't complain unless something is really bad. I would not stay here again (unless a complete remodel was done).

The property is conveniently located off of I77, and is an attractive property. Check in was easy, and the young lady at the desk was friendly. Our room with the king bed was large, however the bathroom could use an upgrade, and the sink basin was cracked in several places, and should be replaced. Unfortunately, the fridge did not work. Having stated the negatives, we did have the most amazing sleep! The bed was comfortable, with several pillows, and it literally was like sleeping on a cloud. Perfect after a long day of travel. The breakfast the next morning was average, with very good hot coffee, eggs, sausage, potatoes and waffles. Apples were the only fruit provided, but you could definitely get a decent meal to start the day!

The hotel was on the older run down side but the surrounding property was gorgeous...quiet and somewhat secluded...the staff was ver pleasant and friendly...

It was overall ok. Bathroom toilet seat was crooked. Shower was a little dirty. Sheets stunk. The room was ish spacious and staff was friendly/slow. Mirror with a huge light was excellent for applying makeup and checking your face.

Was what we needed for a one night stay. It is an older hotel but you can tell they have done a decent job of updating it. Our room and entire hotel was clean. Showers are a little low for me but the water pressure was great. Area is safe with lot's of eating options walking distance or short drive. Front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. Would say it's probably the best value in the area for a 1 or 2 night stay.

This is the second year we stayed here while traveling from Florida back to Cleveland. The hotel is just very tired and in need of remodeling. The smells in the room hallways and lobby are very institutional would very strong smells of deodorizer everywhere
