    I learned a valuable lesson in you get what you pay for. I would beg anyone to consider paying more somewhere else before resorting to staying here. Roaches, stains, and residues. I found a roach under my pillow and ended up sleeping in an armchair with a towel over it. When I brought it up to management when checking out they were upset I didn’t call in the middle of the night. I assume all rooms are similar based of other reviews

    Did not feel safe. Lots of people traffic that did seem normal. Lobby area was kept locked and check in was done through glass like a bank deposit. The price was low but should have been lower.

    The room was clean, but very dated and worn. They advertise a pool, which is outdoors, and is not in service as it is filled with a green mossy mess. On the upside, I had the place nearly to myself, and there wasn’t a lot of noise from the property, but you can definitely hear the nearby speedway in the room. I did have a strong smell of smoke from an adjoining room one day during my stay. The staff was pleasant.

    I enjoyed my stay! Staff was nice and accepted me with my 2 dogs. I will stay with them again when in Hickory. Clean, nice big TV. Parking in front of your room. Well lighted and nice restaurants close by.

    Defective electrical outlets, broken coffeemaker, non functioning closed captions on television, checking demanded a credit card even though the room was prepaid ( in case we broke or stole something!) Manager merely made excuses and blamed us .

    the staff, specifically the manager, was extremely rude. Wanted to charge me an extra $150 for non smoking and incidentals. Wouldn't accept cash or debit, only credit card, which I didn't have. Said I was making him "uncomfortable" and that if I didn't stop, he wasn't going to allow me to stay at all. So I had to cancel my previously booked reservation, and pay AGAIN as a walk-in to avoid the deposit charge. Then when my plans unexpectedly changed, and I asked for a refund for the two nights I wasn't gonna stay, he refused to give my money back. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN. I don't recommend this location to anyone with other options and just be aware that if you don't come in as a walk in there will be a ridiculous deposit required.

    Room was clean and in good condition, rate was fair. One thing we didn't like was the door only locked from the inside and we didn't feel it was safe to leave and go out because the door was not locking. Overall for an overnught trip it was satisfactory for our needs

    By looking at the property you would think it’s just okay of a place, nothing fancy but the first time I stayed here because of the cost, very reasonable$$$. The rooms are renovated, super nice inside, very clean and the beds are very comfortable!! I really like the place a lot, the hotel staff are always so friendly so now i always stay here on a regular basis. I riley loved the hot breakfast with eggs,waffal,bisscitus,sossageand socage petties ,gravy, yogurt, fruit, donuts, two tips of bred and orange and apple juices

    When I booked this stay I requested a 1st floor room when we checked in there was no 1st floor available...... he did say he was able to find one...although during our entire stay the 1st floor was completely empty! The room he put us in was under I guess some riff raff people that seem to stay there long term... very scary people and noise throughout the day and night. At breakfast which they only had biscuits and gravy all during our stay. One morning they let one couple who were very strange bring their dog in to run loose in the dining area in which the dog peed on the floor in front of me and feed the dog on the floor in dinning area and let this dog continue to run loose! Unacceptable! Pool was never vacuumed our whole stay. Trash everywhere especially by our room. Although a couple employees were friendly I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I stay in Days Inn many times and this is the worse.......

    Probably won’t be back! It was semi clean. Shower water temp would change on its on from warm to scalding. Their free breakfast some store bought donuts in a pkg, everything microwave cooked.. had toast & coffee.

    Broken and leaking sink. Card keys intermittently work. You had to lean on door and push really hard to open. I saw a couple of roaches in the room. Shady people around parking lot at all hours. The staff was friendly but unapologetic. They know that there is a problem. And did not even ask me how was my stay. I don't recommend this place to Noone.

    Front desk man was extremely rude. Didn’t want to accept our third party booking & wanted to charge us 150$ for a deposit that would take 7-10 days to be refunded. Gave him our credit card (easy to dispute because it seemed sketchy) wouldn’t accept it. Said it had to be our bank account. Absolutely NOT. Wouldn’t let us check in, said he couldn’t be the one to refund us. I called hotels.com to get the issue resolved, they reached out to the hotel and he was rude to them also. They said he had to process the refund and he refused. So we’re our 100$ for a room we didn’t even get to stay at. Disputing it with our bank as fraud and reported to the BBB. We recorded the whole ordeal.

    The owners son works most of the time and is a very abusive alcoholic. There is NO free breakfast, he keeps the lobby locked and refuses access, ice machine is broken, room was filthy and unclean, refrigerator had mold a NC d spilled food inside x paint peeling off the walls , etc. This is a REALLY BAD place!

    Our experience at this hotel was nothing less than terrible. When we checked in, the front desk lady was kind. Probably 1 of few people we came in contact with that was actually kind to us. We got to our room and quickly noticed there were multiple broken items in the room. A terrible smell coming from the room. A missing drawer on the nightstand. Busted up air conditioner, it still worked but was missing most of the guard on it. The tv remote had only 3 buttons that actually worked. Only 2 out of 6 electrical outlets in the room worked. There were dirty washrags remaining in the shower from the previous guests. The workers came soon after to let us know that the water from the shower was “leaking through the floor into their office,”and to “be careful.” After that experience, we went to talk to someone to see if we needed to change rooms so they could work on the issue with the shower and some random guy explains to us that the issue is that the worker who came to our room doesn't like guests and causes issues with people. And then proceeds to tell us that the room under ours is his own personal hotel room and not just the office. We go back to the same room because frankly, what in the actual??? Next morning, my boyfriend tries to go to breakfast and they tell him its only open from 6 am- 7am instead of what was posted on their website and what the front desk lady told us originally. Overall, the experience was not pleasant at all and I would never stay with them twice.

    Property overall was what we expected. We had a non-smoking room that had clearly not been non-smoking. The entire room and the bed linens had a distinct odor of stale cigarette smoke. The jacuzzi tub was missing half the buttons, had a large hole in the front edging, and I don't even know what to make if the top portion with missing pieces and silicon seals. Needless to say it did not get used. A dirty washcloth was caught in the top of the shower curtain. There were dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom. The refrigerator did not work and smelled musty. Would have expected this from a $90/night room, not a $180/night room. The edging around the tub was loose and a trip hazard. The shower overall was nice and hot and had good water pressure.

    This was the most expensive low end hotel I have ever stayed in. We decided at last minute to stay in town and not drive back because I was having trouble with my back. Found this room with a jacuzzi tub and thought that would help with the back issues. The tub was from the 1990’s at best. The floor had some kind of 1/2 inch thick border strip between the carpet and the tile. My husband and I both stubbed our toes on it in the middle of the night. The ceiling in the tub and toilet area is peeling and fell on me while sitting on the toilet. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable making my back issues worse. I went to look the next morning to see what kind of mattress it was and the mattress cover had so many stains it looked like a crime scene and I didn’t go any further. When checking in and out, we had to wait forever for someone to help us, my husband actually had to go find someone to check in.

I went to look the next morning to see what kind of mattress it was and the mattress cover had so many stains it looked like a crime scene and I didn’t go any further. When checking in and out, we had to wait forever for someone to help us, my husband actually had to go find someone to check in.

    I will never stay here again. First, the woman that checked me in was very rude about everything, even complaining because I used my app to get the room. The door keys barely worked, lighting was very dull, things were broken throughout the room, the shower head,diverter both were broken. Their was a hole in the wall by the bathroom, people in and out all hours of the day and night. (Most of the time same people and they weren't staying there). If i had to do things over i would have gotten my money back and changed motels.

    My friend and I were in town for one night to see a show at Newton Performing Arts Center. From the moment we checked in until we left we had a great experience. The owners are lovely people, and their kids even got off the school bus at the hotel that afternoon, so it was cute seeing their family dynamic. It’s an older motel, for sure, but they do a good job of keeping it clean and presentable. We don’t require anything fancy for just a night or two…just a place to sleep. Everything was clean, there were no bugs at all, the beds were comfortable, and at night it’s very well lit (we are two women, so safety is important!). It’s a very laid back place. The man who checked us in (I’m assuming the owner) was so funny and joked around with us. It was just a very pleasant experience!

The outside of our room had cigarette butts & trash everywhere. This place is very out dated. We are very disappointed. This room was not cheap either. 198.00 for one night.

    From the time we checked in things went wrong. The front desk wouldn’t charge the room to a different card than what was on file. She said she couldn’t but I think she was being lazy. The pool had paint chips coming off the bottom of the pool. The front desk informed us an “employee” who worked there had 3 machete knifes on him but he was actually a long time tenant. We wanted a refund for the room because we felt unsafe and we wanted to leave. She refused to give us a refund and offered to move us to the other side of the hotel. That wasn’t going to make us feel any safer. The lock on the door barely locked. So we put a chair under the knob. They missed a used washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod.     From the time we checked in things went wrong. The front desk wouldn’t charge the room to a different card than what was on file. She said she couldn’t but I think she was being lazy. The pool had paint chips coming off the bottom of the pool. The front desk informed us an “employee” who worked there had 3 machete knifes on him but he was actually a long time tenant. We wanted a refund for the room because we felt unsafe and we wanted to leave. She refused to give us a refund and offered to move us to the other side of the hotel. That wasn’t going to make us feel any safer. The lock on the door barely locked. So we put a chair under the knob. They missed a used washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod. It’s been the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They didn’t care that we felt unsafe and we wanted a refund to find somewhere else to stay.

    DO NOT STAY AT THIS DRUG INFESTED HOTEL!!! When we arrived, the hotel was NOTHING like the picture online. To start, the front desk lady was rude af!! She was upset at another couple wanting their money back. So, we checked in only to encounter the same problems! The rooms were filthy, mold in the shower on the walls, the mini fridge had a horrible and strong fishy smell. The bolt lock was missing screws and the handle/door knobs were loose( very scary!) As I told the staff about the room conditions, she became very upset and a man took over the conversation. I was denied a refund due to “last minute cancellation.” As I’m looking around the hotel property, a man was eating and sleeping by the garage and the cops came to remove him. The funny thing is, this seems to be their hangout spot because there were a bunch of them coming from behind the trash and lurking the property. There are cameras everywhere and I felt they were inside the room. The receptionist was very very rude when speaking to. Don’t stay here!!! It’s a junky, drug-infested hotel with addicts and prostitutional transactions!!!

    Quite possibly the nastiest motel room I have ever occupied. Baseboards falling off the walls around the room along with large wall holes that had been very badly patched. 'Security lock on inside of door looked like it had been sawn off. Broken furniture that had been terribly patched with screws and raw wood, even duct tape. Toilet rocked like a boat in choppy water; tub rim, counters, bedspreads, flooring and chairs covered in cigarette burns. Barely any guests but there was way too much late night foot traffic, cars blasting old school boom box while idling in the back parking lot. Note: the local raceway is very nearby thus it zoom-zooms late into the everning. One pack of coffee for the dirty pot and one pack of creamer that was so old, it came out in a hard chunk. No TV guide as the 'buttons' were plastic dime store replacements of some sort, that the batteries kept falling out of. Ridiculous. Ended up using dog's blanket to spread on top of the bed in order to sleep. Left next morning to head to the nearest truck stop for a shower, a cup of coffee and to brush my teeth. My living conditions in two foreign wars did NOT prepare me for this one. Inexcusable.

    It was comfortable but not very clean. Definitely dope users and dealers living there, but overall quiet except for one incident at check in where the cops escorted someone off the property. The jacuzzi in the room wasn't clean and had broken parts. The breakfast was a huge disappointment.

    The property seemed almost vacant. Not sure why but there literally were no other guests which seemed odd. The room had a undefined odor, not unpleasant but not pleasant either. The mini fridge was in a cabinet that it did not fit into. The fridge had to be manipulated just to get the door open, whereby scratching the front of the fridge up. One thing I can say is that it was quiet!

    The room was adequate although it has seen better days. Had to share the soap between the bathroom sink and tub. Breakfast was a disappointment. All processed foods, packaged muffins-donuts-cinnamon swirls. Waffle machine burnt waffle and then ran out of batter. Artificial orange juice and no fresh fruit. Coffee was OK.

    Room didn’t look like it had been cleaned. 1/2 bottle of coke in the fridge. Plastic spoon laying on the floor under the luggage stand. Food wrappers in fridge area. Stains on bed spread and sheets. Did not expect much as it was the 3rd time I stayed there but there will not be a fourth. Lady who checked me in was very polite and courteous. Housekeeping staff was polite and and helpful as well.

    Safety lock on door entry was broken off as if the door had been kicked in and the lock on the bathroom door was also missing, the frame too was cracked as if kicked in. Overall appearance of facility not appealing from outside, at first I thought it was closed down. Very disappointed and feel the price was exorbitant for this property.

    There was no one at the front desk when I arrived and I tried using their intercom, and talking through the speaker on the window and end up waiting 20min before anyone showed up to check me in. When she did arrive she was unpleasant and rude and not welcoming. The room seemed to be overall clean, though I did not feel safe as the deadbolt did not work, and the lock above was questionable as seen in the photos. I had to put chairs up against the door to ensure that I was safer than I would be if I just relied on the one lock. I would advise against anyone else going to this hotel and I won’t be back.

    The property was outdated, dirty and smelly. The morning female staff did give me another room that was a bit cleaner and did not smell as bad. They refused to give me a refund, not even a partial refund, so we stayed the 3 nights, we did not have other options. The evening male staff was racist and rude. He yelled at me through out he conversation, telling me I must not understand English. The breafast pictures were not accurate. I will not stay here again. This was my worst hotel experience in my 25 years of traveling and staying at varies properties.

    The a/c unit was noisy. Everytime it turned off it made a loud gradual whistling and groaning sound. Don't think this room had been booked in awhile. I slept in my street clothes and washed everything I had taken with me when I got home. Also permanent/long term residents appear to be living there. All the room doors had dents as if a hurricane had come through or the doors had been kicked in. Whole environment felt unsafe. Needless to say we avoided breakfast.

    This is the nastiest place i've seen and i really dont recommend staying there,and the front desk service is terrible they have an attitude and they dont try to work with you,its a take it or leave situation they dont care,i didnt even stay there and they didnt even try to refund me anything since supposly i had paid a day before,but i feel like if you dont stay the least you can do is refund the person out of courtesy but hell he just took the keys and said im sorry...but there is alot of noise oh and becareful cause the door knobs are all loose and from other reviews i've read people have actually gotten in to other peoples rooms at midnight,its scary and especially if traveling with family go somewhere else,you might pay a bit more but you'll definetly get your moneys worth somewhere else.

    Absolutely nothing The bathtub had dirt and hair all in it, The toilet head hair and dirt on it, shower rod was literally falling off the wall, the floors weren’t vacuumed, they said it was a non-smoking room yet when I opened the door the smell of cigarette smoke about knocked me off my feet, Which I’m guessing they turned a smoking room into a non-smoking room, they also did not offer any breakfast like it says on your site.

    Nothing really. You could see some wear on the floor and cealing but the hotel was an older model hotel. It was nice to know that I wasn't being overcharged for a room that I was only going to sleep in. Family close by. Just using for sleeping quarters.
