    Victoria was amazing! A one woman show! She was the inly staff member I encountered the whole time and she was doing it all! Give that woman a raise! Very composed and handling everything and everyone in a pleasant and professional manner. Cant give her high enough praise!

    We ended our stay early. We booked another hotel in the area. The sheets were spotted, remote control and iron were missing parts. The shower door was hanging by a thread. The air coming out of the air conditioner smelled! Honestly, it was not what we expected.

    The location was in walking distance to family. First off, in the room the remote was broke. When we returned from visiting the key cards didn’t work. Also, the bathroom door had to be picked up to shut it.

    I liked the air conditioner working properly, staff were helpful. We stayed for 4 nights, during this time they did not pick up the garbage or clean the room. Guest has to put the garbage outside the room. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was extremely noise. It needs to be replaced asap. The electric power outlet in the bathroom was completely loose. We could not plug any appliance. Breakfast was very poor. Parking excellent, plenty of parking. Location is convenient to stores, restaurants and Columbus downtown.

    It was in a convenient area and close to just sit anywhere. The front desk staff was very professional. Pool was a plus especially for the little ones. The breakfast choices were good as well just limited. Very clean and nice Hotel overall.

    There were also several issues with the condition and upkeep of my room. My room ran out of toilet tissue on two separate occasions, which should not happen during a guest’s stay. I was also informed that room service had to be specifically requested rather than routinely provided, and despite staying multiple days, clean sheets were never provided throughout my stay. I chose your property expecting a comfortable and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately the level of service and accommodations fell far below what was expected. Due to the multiple service failures during my stay, I would appreciate your review of this matter and consideration of an appropriate resolution or compensation.

    Shower doors were 1960 aluminum, the shower knob was loose and would not stay in the hot zone. The toilet was very low. Pillows were horrible and old. Definitely didn’t live up to the Sonesta name.

    The hotel was easy to find and had adequate parking. The facility was clean. Sonesta - you need to bump up your game with your free breakfast. It was extremely lacking! No options for those who eat a low carb diet. Your yogurt bar advertises as healthy but your nutrition facts show otherwise - 19g of sugar in one serving and a pitiful 5g of protein. You can do better!

    After returning to the room on the evening of check-in, I found water on the bathroom floor. I traced it to a leak from the sink. I reported it to the front and asked to be relocated, but there were no other rooms available. Thus, I cleaned the floor myself and put a trash can under the sink to collect the water. I also found that the fill valve in the toilet tank sometimes did not shut off even when the float lifted the shut-off lever as high as it could go. The water would continue to run into the overflow tube, eventually stopping for no apparent reason after 30 or more minutes had passed.

    The breakfast was sparse, the eggs tasted terrible. The pool was covered in slime and the water was green--like they had not treated it in forever. The front office staff was watching tv everytime we came to the desk. There is only one working elevator. The grounds are dimly lit, if at all in some places. We were also given a room that reaked of cigarette smoke and had to request a change in rooms.

    The breakfast was just ok, not exciting at all. The bathtub could have been cleaner when I got there and I still didn’t get my $125 back yet. Also I just bought a Pepsi (that’s all they have btw) and a coffee drink and I was charged over $20 for that.

    Breakfast was the best part. Tv good. Towels good. Room temp good. Got in at 4am Noone was around. So much so that I called the hotel from my cell and I stood in front the the desk where the phone was ringing with Noone answering. I did this twice. After yelling hello and walkng around I found an office door and knocked hard. I guess i woke her up. Next room was mediocre. No frills. Carpet just felt dirty. Tired bathroom with mold in corners. Towels good sheets good and temp in room good. Tv also good. Asked for paper copy twice before checking out finally was told it will be emailed to me. But I wanted a paper copy.

    The location of the property. The lobby was clean and welcoming and the amenities were easy to access. It was not as nice as the pictures depicted. There was mold in our bathroom all over the ceiling and the vent fan was hanging out from the ceiling in the bathroom. The heater didn’t work. The bedding was dingy and had stains. The shower was not clean. All the furniture was dinged up and the chair had dried up crumbs, hair and dust all over it. You could never find the receptionist.

We were pleasantly surprised. It’s located right next to a Mercedes-Benz dealership and everything we wanted to do was with in 15 minutes.. upon arrival we were created with friendly staff and a prompt response when needed additional towels. I highly recommend this hotel. My husband needs his breakfast every morning and he was happy with the breakfast that was served. Definitely would stay there again.

They are listed as pet friendly but that comes with a steep price.     Room was very comfortable and clean. The room we reserved was only available on the 3rd floor. Not a problem unless both elevators are out of service. Since my wife and I are in our 60's, I asked if he was going to carry our bags up the stairs. Hard to believe, but he found us a room on the 2nd floor. Ice maker on 2nd floor, men's room urinal in lobby, was out of service and pool was closed. Room and breakfast met our expectations.

    It was convenient to my work. Elevators not working. Only working ice machine on the 2nd and 3rd floors. They could not print me a receipt at time of check out. They required and charged me a $100.00 damage deposit which they said would be refunded within 3-5 business days. Parking Lot poorly illuminated. Lights were ON but very dim.

    The room was clean and roomie with coffee maker microwave and mini fridge. Shower was great pressure. The coffee maker was not working. I reported it on Saturday and it was replaced. I didn’t like that upon arrival I learned that the two elevators were out of service. Ask the staff if there were other hotels we could go to, but it was a graduation week for new military trainees meaning all hotels in area were booked. They then move my reservations from the fourth floor to the third floorroom near the stairs and my niece and the desk clerk carry my bags to the third floor for me. No maid service until I was leaving on Monday.

    The elevators were broken the entire trip, which we were told about but there was no discount given for the inconvenience. Secondly, housekeeping never came to the room in the 4 days we were there. I even requested them to come and at least do a towel switch but they still did not come. When I asked for clean towels after the 2nd day, we were given pool towels.

    The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The air conditioning was cold. The elevator was not working and we were on the 4th floor. Looking back at reviews, it appears that the elevator has been out of service for about a month. Why? When I asked for fresh towels for our second night, I was told they were out. The pool water was green so no one went for a swim. The breakfast was horrible so we threw that away and went pickup food. However the shower had wonderful water pressure and well stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The hotel seems to be in a safe area with lots of restaurants and shopping close by

    When I first arrived, I noticed the pool was green and murky. I told the front desk that I was here to swim in the pool and she guaranteed that it was OK to swim in because her children were swimming in the day before. I was there for four nights in the pool was never cleaned and never ready to swim in. There was no compensation given by the hotel because it was paid for through Expedia. The staff was not very nice about the situation and said there was nothing they could do about it.

    I have been coming here since December when it was. Diamond in haystack. I never had any issues and staff is always helpful. My last two visits were not as pleasing as before as this is no longer a diamond and the cleaning is not as great as before.     Upon arriving the day of my prepaid reservation, I was met by Helen, the Front Desk Manager, who informed me that although the hotel had clean, empty rooms available, she would not allow me to check in early—unless I paid for an entire second night. Not a standard early check-in fee, but a full additional night’s charge, just to access the room I had already paid for that same day. Following this encounter, Expedia customer service contacted Helen directly to attempt a resolution. She refused to adjust her position, denied a refund for the reservation that had been made just hours earlier, and declined to allow a change of dates or credit the booking for future use. The whole interaction was both inflexible and exploitative. This hotel appears to operate with policies that prey on less experienced or transient travelers, including young servicemembers stationed at nearby Fort Benning. It’s hard to imagine this kind of behavior being tolerated at a reputable property. If you’re looking for fairness, decency, or even the most basic customer service, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Sonesta Essential Columbus. This wasn’t just bad hospitality—it was a deliberate cash grab that disrespected both my time and my patronage.

    Clean room, good breakfast. Front desk was nice and polite. If you have a toddler, remove the mirror hanging by bathroom as it is only secured at top and can swing. There was a huge closet we put ours in. Hallway smelled of Marijuana but did not in room. Had to pay $100 deposit that was not made clear by website.     The shower has the best pressure and hot water temp was perfect! The beds are comfy and rooms spacious. There were a couple issues but something easily missed and corrected. Nice area for a walk. Breakfast is 6am to 9am, so they appeared to be out of some items by 8:30 but still choices for a little something before getting on the road. I'll stay here again!

    Both times the rooms were clean, but so require some updates. The floor lamp in our room was damaged and the bulb was hanging on via wires only. It’s a safety hazard so we reported it at checkout. The rooms are a sizable. Both times our rooms had desk & chair & a lounger. The bathroom is a good size. The hot water& shower pressure are great (4th floor) room. Breakfast is typical of a hotel at this level. Eggs, sausages, toast, pastries, cereal. NO GLUTEN FREE items.     Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok, but they do not have any gluten free safe options. A lot of hotels have boiled eggs, but this one doesn’t. Husband said his breakfast was pretty good. We are planning to stay there again on our way back to FL. Lots of dining options nearby (within 10 mi)

    The room itself was just ok. Very clear that some remodeling had been done. The bathroom wasnt the cleanest. The place reeked of purple fabuloso. The front desk person was miserable. They also put a $50 hold for incidentals that takes days to come off. This isnt on the listing. I would spend the extra few dollars and stay at one of the other 4 properties that are right there.

    The lobby is nice, but the rooms desperately need updating. Carpets were stained and felt dirty, didn’t want to walk barefoot. The shower tile was chipped and stained. The towels and bedding were cheap and scratchy.

    We stayed a couple of nights and like the excellent front desk service and the hotel has 2 working elevators. The breakfast was ok with scrambled eggs, varieties of breads, and some fruits. What I didn’t like was the fact that the pool was murky green and had a sign sayin it was closed. Other than that, it’s a nice quiet area about 25 min from Ft Moore.

    Additionally, I encountered a problem with the shower. The temperature knob would frequently fall to a dangerously high setting, making it difficult to use safely. I had to hold it in place for my daughter during her bath to prevent any chance of scalding. Overall, I expected a more pleasant stay given the hotel’s reputation. I hope they address these issues to enhance the experience for future guests.

    The front desk clerk was very kind. The first room we were out in was dirty. Makeup on the bedding. Bathroom was damaged. The tub was taped together and pouring water. It wouldn't turn off. The second room we were put in smelled horrible and the air condition was not working. The third room we were put in was better.
