Sleep Inn & Suites Columbus - State University Area

This property is disgusting. We had paid for four nights and ended up only staying one night due to there being bugs in the bed. Our faucet was busted, there was yellow stains all over our sheets. Our bathroom had no door frame. And we had planned with our family member who had just graduated from the army to go back to the hotel and swim, but we cannot do so because there was dead frogs in the pool. The hotel felt so nasty for my kids.

My party of four stayed at this hotel, we booked four rooms. The moment we all checked in we all had issues with our rooms. From yellow and black stained sheets, mold under the sink, no fresh sheets on the bed, a pipe spraying water under the sink, and finding a carpet bug in the bed.

We booked four rooms and all four rooms were dirty. We had to go get cleaning supplies and clean the bathrooms. The bedding had yellow stains and we found bed bugs. We talked to a staff member and when we asked for another room he acted he was bothered by the request. After we switch rooms he laughed at us. The pool had a dead frog and was not maintained. We cancelled our stay and went somewhere else.

I did not eat the breakfast, but my family did not care for it at all. Their complaint was it was cold and not many choices. We have stayed in many hotels that offer breakfast this hotel was by far the worst! We were told the pool would be available and it was not. However apparently after numerous complaints from other guests on our 3 day we were able to swim.

There was nothing that I like. The property is poorly kept. I did not like the environment. Customer service was so horrible that we decided to walk away and not stay.

The location of this hotel is not appealing. We were required and off by the police and not allowed to come into the parking area returned from dinner because a bomb threat was called in to the restaurant adjacent to ours and in the same location.

Beds was very uncomfortable light in the bathroom didn’t work beds didn’t seem like queens more like full size beds our refrigerator wouldn’t work when we got there but my husband seemed to be able to get it to work eventually and the breakfast was kinda sad the waffle batter was running really low and wouldn’t come out and I asked the staff guy and he just came over and tilted the whole container and was like it’s not completely out you just have to tilt over to get it out ?

We booked at other hotel that was gross, dirty and did not feel safe. We ended up coming here and open arms! The staff was all amazing!

Absolutely excellent hotel. Staff was amazing, entire place was clean, the room was very nice, bed was super comfortable and breakfast was hot and tasty. I work for a privately owned Inn so I'm very keen at finding imperfections, there was not one thing worth mentioning. Totally blown away by this little gem of a hotel! Literally not willing to stay anywhere else in Columbus from now on LOL. Thank you all so much for maintaining such high standards, it made our night here much more relaxing and enjoyable!!

Everything!!! And the house keeper broke a mirror and blamed it on me so they charged me $100. I'm still fighting to get that money back!!!

Towels are awful.

Check-in and check-out were easy and quick. The staff was professional, though not especially friendly and inviting. Parking was not congested and was closely located for easy access to the building. No one informed us what the times for breakfast were. We only had 2 bath clothes in the 2-bedroom suite, thus we had to ask the front desk for 2 more. When we checked out, the elevator was broken, and we were staying on the 4th floor. There was no "out of order" sign posted on our floor, but after we pressed the button and waited for several minutes, we finally decided to take the stairs, and upon reaching the lobby, there was an "Out of Order" sign posted on the elevator on the main floor.

We went down for breakfast and there weren’t any eggs and I had to go to front desk and we had to wait for them. The orange drink was watered down.

The staff was friendly upon check in. The room was ok. Towels dirty , heater make loud noise. It wasnt constant noise so i was unable to move. I was up all night due to this and the loud guest above me.

To make matters worse, my security deposit was taken over a small amount of blood on the sheets — something that is normal wear-and-tear and easily laundered, not damage. Between the lack of basic amenities, absent staff, extra fees, and unfair deposit charge, this hotel felt more interested in nickel-and-diming guests than providing proper service. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

The tv didn’t work all day Sunday the 18th. I stayed in a no signal mode all day! Didn’t have shampoo in the shampoo caddy located in the shower.

The breakfast bar was lacking. That was disappointing because the only reason I chose this hotel was because the pictures provided on the website showed a nice breakfast. I've stayed here a bunch of times in the past. Never had problems until this last time. Bed bugs stay away!!!! On top of that the guy that checked me in whom i think may be the owner or manager took a copy of my debit card for whatever reason. Which i totally disagreed with and got back from him before i walked off.

Property it’s ok. The bed was ok. The area is good. But my room was not ok. Dirty shower, clogged up sink, men under garment in the cabinet closet. Poor lighting. Not good enough for the price in this area.

Some of the furniture in the room was broken. Could not get the TV to work, the remote was sticky. It said there was a kid pool, an arcade, an exercise room, there was none of this. My room said that there was a shower tub combo. It was just a stand-up shower. On all 3 floors, none of the icemaker worked. There was no hot breakfast. The muffin was stale. The cereal was stale. I went down at 7 o’clock for breakfast with my grandson. It was terrible. I asked for water they didn’t have any. I would definitely recommend finding someplace else to stay. The bed spread had stains all over it. Ann Ann was not neatly made.

All linens and garbage was gathered neatly for service, no spills left on surfaces, no smoking or pets were in the room, per deposit refund policy, and my deposit (which I have never had to put a deposit down at any hotel I have stayed at) still was not returned.

Had a bad experience with the room key. Every day that we were there we had to have our card keys reactivated to enter our room. The people at the desk to me didn't have the best customer service nor very friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and sliding away from the head board.

My room on the 3rd floor (305); it was provided with dirty towels and blood spotted sheets. We had to ask ourselves for toilet paper and toiletries . I had to wipe the floors myself because once I removed my shoes and stepped on it my feet got dirty . Staff was friendly and helpful upon requer. Common areas were clean but that was it. The pool was full of leafs that were sitting there for a while so we could not use the pool. Overall it was too pricey for what they were offering. I had stay at way better hotels with restaurants and full bar with great clean rooms for the same price I paid for this one.

Over all the suite was very spacious and clean the ac didnt work right but they offered us a fan which was nice pool was down which made my kids upset never got our rooms cleaned or done by housekeeping but other then that i would stay again

The fact that the room didn't have carpet was a plus for me. It makes a hotel/motel room feel cleaner. Everyone I encountered was very nice. Everything was clean. I'd definitely stay here again. The breakfast was a bonus.

The front desk person was extremely friendly even with it being after midnight. I was extremely happy that my room was clean and free of pests. I have a good amount of horror stories from this week so I'm just happy you guys were able to turn my week around.

The walls were filthy and the furniture in the room was all damaged. I found hair on my pillowcases and just didn’t feel comfortable in the room at all due to the dirtiness of the walls in the room. Ew

He served in our military along with his father and son. I couldn't be more pleased with the staff. Its not a 5 star hotel. But the staff treats you like it is. The hotel was clean and I slept well here.

The workers were wonderful. The room had a roach and another bug in it. While the beds were clean the walls looked very dingy and dirty and in need of some attention.

From check-in to checkout, my experience was very positive, even with the 12-hour electric outage (not anything that could be done by hotel). The staff was attentive and caring. Dakota was especially helpful. The manager was there throughout the outage. I will be returning to Sleep Inn in December.

The rooms weren’t well cleaned (including dirty sheets on one bed) and the hallways smelled like cigarettes. The stocked towels in the room were all hand towels and it was a hassle getting them replaced with regular towels. If they would clean and stock properly this place would be adequate, but as is I wouldn’t stay again.

Hotel is old. Staff is nice. Room smell like smoke. Door to bathroom did not lock. Expedia advertises Gym and Gameroom for this hotel which do NOT exist on the premises. There is only one washer and drier for the whole hotel and there is a line to use it.

The hotel reception guy asked to copy the credit card and ID. He said this is a standard procedure and they destroy the photocopies in 3 days. Well, there are 5-6 people working there all the customer financial info is at their mercy!

The pictures provided for this hotel do not match up to what is in the room. The bed was very worn and sunken in. The sink was in the room, and the toilet and shower were not clean. Overall, I would not recommend it at this price point. There are much better hotels in the area for the same price. Very outdated.

Waiting 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk then gave me the wrong room then tried to make pay again for the room I already paid for

Elevator broken. Only beds bigger than double were on the 4th floor. No remote for tv. Floor in room was sticky. The breakfast that ran from 6-9:00 was disgusting. At 8:20 almost everything was gone. What little that was left was inedible. Our view out our window was the backyard of a home that was nothing but trash, scrap and 2 dogs on the porch that were in horrible conditions.

The room was dirty.there was some sort of filth in the refrigerator...even took a foto of it. Got sick the very next morning...woke up with a dry sore.throat.

The information online did not match the hotel. We booked this hotel for a pool and fitness center. Upon arrival, pool was closed and no fitness center.

They took a photo copy of the credit card used for the $100 hold. The card was charged for amounts that were not approved. When questioned, they denied any type of charge and continued to get hostel. Will not be going back and had to report it as fraud to the card company to get it back.

We arrived late and got into one room and the linen on the bed was stained. The room had a scent. We called the front desk and they changed our room. The 2nd room was just as bad except worse. It had a dirty, dried towel in the shower and bug. The linen on the bed had someone else’s hair and stains. We called Hotels and complained. The relocated us. They did call other hotels and report that they were full. We believe staff at one hotel said they were full because they were changing shifts and didn’t want to be bothered. We called to confirm they were full ourselves, as we had Hotel’s staff on the line. The new hotel said they could accommodate us, but we’re changing shifts. We told the Hotel.com staff to call the hotel back. We were successfully relocated to a nice room. The management at Suites called the next day and continued to charge for the first night. They said they could have changed our room. We told them they did and the 2nd room was worse than the first. They tried to argue about it. I was over it already. Never again!

Pros: it was secluded, right up the road from the mall which is close to a lot of restaurants. It was also 10 mins from the place I would spent most of my day.

Hotel was clean, but rooms could use updating. Would not stay for more than one night.
