Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Columbus near Fort Benning

I got in very late to check in and was exhausted. I got to the room and crashed. When I got up in the morning I realized how unclean the facilities actually was. The sink had hairs from precious people and hairs in the shower and around the toilet.

My shower curtain was so dirty, and the room smelled awful.

Area of the hotel was a little ghetto. And they charged my cc $50 when they told me it was just be a hold, still waiting on my refund.

They never came to clean all week. To get a towel, I had to go and get help because no one came. And to top it all off, I paid from Tuesday the 12th to Saturday the 16th. I left on Saturday and dropped off my soldier son there, and it turns out someone came and charged me again on Saturday. Saturday's charge was double. Horrible. I'll never go back to that place.

Was close to Fort Benning and there was good food nearby at the gas station. Room was not cleaned well. Sheets on the bed were moist and had stains on them. We slept on top of the duvet covers as I was concerned for bed bugs.

Staff are nice, Plenty of parking, Breakfast until 9:00am, Clean but very outdated.

The opposite of the Pictures.

We got home and not only were we charged for that day/ night, but we were charged over $400 (two rooms for 3 nights). This placed is gross, the staff can't accept criticism even though they know how bad their rooms are, and they tried to steal from me.

Very unsafe property! Staff narely spraks English, no telephone in room just a chewed up chord, bugs in bath tub, remote didnt work, unlit parking lot and pretty sure we got hed bugs!

Door handle kept falling off, lights above sink wouldn't come on, no towels to dry off with had to call and all I got was 2 for 3 people. Wasn't very clean.

Breakfast wasn't out at 7:30 this morning. Parking was easy. Bathtub was rusted out, very old motel. Needs a lot of updates to it.

Gross, stauned badly sheets and pillow cases, brought new pillow cases out of the pkg, brought mew sheets still slightly stained, eve. After a switched room, said clean, obvious no sweep or mop, mildew in the shower especially aling the bottom of the shower curtain, bot enough towels and wash clothes or soap and shampoo for 3 quests had to ask for more gave them to us but reluctantly, male at desk not helpful at all the lady was wonderful, my daughter lost a ring so we pulled everything out before we left after we were packed up nasty under everything including under microwave beds bureaus tgey need a new real cleaning staff. Some little brown bug in room luckily only saw. Stayed 3 days for my sons boot camp graduation, to late to book elsewhere especially being on the rd 24hrs. Or we would have gone elsewhere will not stay again would not recommend. And its a lie about pool access elsewhere they didnt even know its in there advertising that they are family friendly with access to indoor pool.also continental breakfast not.

Outdated but clean. I had no complaints. We stayed there while in town for a graduation in Post. We were only in the room to sleep as we were busy. For the price can’t complain and for being so close to Sand Hill where we needed to be on post it was perfect. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Their continental breakfast is super basic and minimal. We did not eat it as we went out to breakfast while we were there. Definitely budget friendly place.

The site was deceiving once we pulled up and went to check in. Went into the room and was very disappointed. Went straight back to check out.i did not feel safe and the room didn’t look clean. I wanted a refund. Was not happy.

Location only It was dirty and they gave me a cigarette smelling room even though they told me it was a non smoking room. Also they locked you out every night and you have to go to reception to reset the key

The furniture was filthy, the mattress was very cheap and slept as such. I did not want to touch anything. The paper thin bed cover had cigarette burn holes. This place needs a serious overhaul.

It was close to the base and a tattoo shop. The employees were very caring and nice. There were roaches, old worn out furniture, hair in the shower, paper thin old fashioned blankets, ugly decoration and a long walk to a restaurant. Breakfast was only two food items and nasty jail juice.

The room was nasty. The sheets were stained. The heater sounded like jetliner taking off. Needs to be updated. Shower curtain looked like a shop rag. One washcloth. Towels ripped and well worn. Going to scrub and disinfect myself when I get home. I think they they rent it by the hour.

Only thing liked was the fire stick on the tv. The rooms was nasty! The towels and rags were nasty, we couldn’t even use them to bathe nor wash our face. The tub was so disgusting we had to buy a tub mat just to stand in shower to bathe. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The breakfast was nasty, waffle maker had not been cleaned, the cereal was steal and the fruit were old and very soft. The room smelled very bad we had to spray and buy plug ins! And they charged me more than what my booking was is that even possible?!!

The Internet was down for majority of our stay. Also they only provided 3 towels for 6 guest.

Furniture looked like it was pulled from a dumpster, children’s height toilet in bathroom, popcorn finished paneling evidenced years of amateur spackling repairs, and breakfast was an insult. The room was not clean. Sparse on towels. No closet. No hair dryer. Pictures made the hotel look much nicer than it was. Only stayed one of our 5 nights due to this and were refused a refund. If you can afford to stay anywhere else, stay there.

This property was not maintained properly, it was not clean at all, there were also roaches within the room, the sheets were extremely dirty, I definitely would not recommend this place for anybody to stay at, although the people there were very nice they should definitely not be in the motel business or dealing with customer service

Some of the staff is not so friendly but they try to be helpful. My hubby is a joker and one woman was not happy about that. She as rude to him because of it. Besides that the place isn’t bad for price. Pool was nice and hotel seemed pretty clean. We only stayed 2 days.

The only reason i gave this place a 1 star was because i didnt have an option to not give it a star at all. We reported him to the front desk and nothing was done about it. The whole experience with this place was just overall terrible. I would not recommend it anyone.

Out of all of my stays in Columbus, this was, by far, my favorite. They were very accommodating, I got left alone for the duration of my stay, and they even allowed me extra time to check out when I overslept. Kind staff, clean room, pet friendly, and decently priced. I will absolutely be back!

Refrigerator keeps running water out onto the floor. Toilet makes loud noises and there were in fact COCKROACHES. Beds hard as a rock. Only had a sheet to cover up with. Gaps in the door. Paint only covers so much. Remote to tv was sticky.

Receptionist walked me to my room after calling a “colleague” to ask which room was “the best”. Asked several times if i had anyone with me or would be having visitors. I thought it was normal the first time, but the continued times were very unsettling. I tried to make the most of it but the bathroom had dirty wash clothes and mold. I felt like i was being watched so I left.

Then the 2nd night we stayed we got a second room added since our son was going to be staying after his Army basic graduation. His room had roaches and when i brought it up they supposedly had people in previously to take care of the situation. Then we were told we would get a refund for 1 night since we booked the second room 1 night to long... have yet to receive the refund....

Stay away from this place!!!! Is not worth it at all. The photos that are shown on the website are FAKE. They make you believe is nice and clean but is not! Every reservation that you do and if you don’t stay they WOULD NOT refund it even though they said they will. They are a total scam.

I recommend you try it... See for yourself... Comfy rooms and good management... Great workers .. very much exactly the way a hotel should be ran... I like it ..

Blankets are about as thick as a paper towel. No housekeeping during our stay for 3 days. Had to have room key reprogrammed every time we returned to room as it would stop working. No insulation to block outside parking lot noise and there was a lot of loud cars coming in at all hours of the night. Also saw a few roaches. Will definitely NOT stay here again when we return in a couple months. If you are looking for cheap and run down, this is it

The customer service was great, very friendly people. When I arrived the hotel looked decently clean but on my last night there I saw roaches coming out of the bathroom door. The bed and blankets weren't very comfortable either. The location and area of the hotel is also not ideal and I felt unsafe. I witnessed a heated argument in the lobby as well right before I left.

In the front desk area they were hostile with us when they gave us the rooms. One of the rooms had no light, the electricity did not work. The rooms were dirty, the bathroom towels were extremely dirty, the shampoo and conditioner containers were empty and used, the floor was extremely dirty and what you see in the photos on social networks is a total deception, very different from reality.

Terrible representation for the company of econo lodge. They also don't honor the hotels.com procedures always as they should. This location shouldn't be offered by hotels.com, because they're a bad representation for business overall. Your company stands best over any booking choice as for myself. You'd prefer to keep it as so. Recommending econo lodge for this location is dishonerable and unacceptable

The front desk worker attempted stealing my bicycle. I had to file a police report, but soon after he brought it back. They never identified themselves. I found out due to the staff. Also, the front manager Sam was in a physical altercation the night prior to my bike. The lady working the morning shift is rude and almost have my credit card info to someone else, but I was in her presence to interfere. The other staff workers were great, regarding house keeping and laundry. There was cat feces stuck to the floor at the top of the headboard. I cleaned myself due to multiple attempts alerting the front desk. The older staff members last year were much better and appreciated.

It was close to fort moore which was convenient, however the picture online didnt fully match property. When checking in i had booked 2 rooms. The first room we tried to get into had someone elses things in the room. The second room had roaches, broken lamps, dirty sheets, ect. We had to completely move rooms and the next rooms were cleaner but still had roaches. Not worth the money spent

shortly after checking in someone knocked on the door requesting I prove my dogs are service animals. I had one hour to produce the documents to his email or he would be coming back in 1 hour. I emailed the ADA link where an owner does not have to provide such documents to any establishment. He come back asking once again for the proof i asked for a full refund for i no longer felt comfortable being there and didn't care to be harassed by him or staff. Of course it was refused. they should be more concerned with the maintenance of the property than service animals. the electrical outs didnt work in the bathroom area. had a surge protector ran for outlets and the sheets looked as tho someone rolled in the dirt before placing on the bed. I do not recommend staying here. they offer washer and dryers the dryers do not dry. cost roughly double or more to dry.

Inside of the room the sink,tub, & toilet were very dirty. It couldnt have been cleaned properly before us checking in. The floor was covered in dust & crumbs. The room reeked the smell of smoke although we did not book a smoking room. There were a total of 2 towels, with one having what appeared to be blood on it. There were no face cloths, hair dryer or tissue.

The first room assigned to us we couldn't get into because the battery on the door was going dead, so the key wouldn't work. That's not an issue, we got into the 2nd room because the attendant let us in using his master key. He brought back a room key while we were unloading (this is important, and you'll find out why in a minute. ) We are inside, unpacking, putting food in the refrigerator, etc... The room is completely filthy, dust and cobwebs everywhere. All the fixtures were so old they were chipping, and cracking. The next morning I go to breakfast. They have milk, cereal, pancakes, waffles, a few apples, and a few slices of bread. There was no butter for the pancakes/ waffles, no other choices of fruit, no bagels/ pastries. No apple/ orange juice (they did have Kool Aid though) It wasn't your typical motel breakfast, but I guess I'm happy there was something. My family and I go back to the room to start packing. This is when we realize, the room key doesn't work. So, as my family stands outside in the rain I go back up front to gain access to the room. We eventually got in. We started to pack our stuff up and found that the refrigerator wasn't working (it was the night before) and that I had lost all of my food. I go up to the front desk, and tell her the fridge wasn't working. She told me she'd put in a maintenance order (like that would help me) I'm still trying to battle to get any money back for all my list food. It won't let me upload photos for some reason.

Filthy rooms. Construction going on in parking lot. Workers were filling potholes and dumping fuel on them and burning them to seal. No service for multi day stays. You each get one towel. When we asked for a fresh towel the second day, the employee couldn’t find any clean ones so I suggested he get one out of the many vacant rooms. Lady at the desk was incredibly rude and got mad because I wanted to read anything I signed. Huge fight in the middle of the night among other occupants. Mold in bathroom. Ants and other bugs. Floor was so filthy it blackened your white socks.

The room was good, only issue is that there was three 12 packs of empty beers left in the room. Other than that the room was good. The motel was quite.

This is the dirtiest motel I have ever stayed in. The sheets, pillowcases and towels dirty and stained. The room smelled. The bathroom and tub didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while.

This is the worst hotel to stay at. There were roaches all over the room. One of the beds smelled like bad body odor. No toilet paper in the bathroom. And the worst thing was the workers started fighting in the middle of the night screaming and hitting each other for almost 5-10 minutes I would never recommend this place not even to my worst enemy!!!!

Bad customer service, very dirty rooms, very dirty bathroom, dirty sheets, pillows too and the bedspread was stained, the breakfast area was very dirty and the milk was spoiled, the people who serve there were very rude and have no education, the television signal was terrible👎👎👎👎

Horrible.We arrived from Florida, I asked for a non-smoking room and they gave me one that stank of cigarettes, I let the person in charge know and he told me that he was going to bring an air freshener and he never did. Then I went and complained to the same person since 3 cockroaches came out in the room, he told me that he was going to send someone and I am still waiting. And to top it off, I call the front desk and no one answers the phone. Too expensive for such terrible service. I will not stay here again.

the room was absolutely horrible! Mold in the bathroom everywhere floor and toilet was filthy. floors where dirty through the entire room the bed sheets hadn't been changed for ever and had other people's hair and body hair and bodily fluids stains on them! the pillows had mold on them! i took pictures of everything asked for a different room and was told that was the only one available for an expedia rooms!!! they only refunded me back 1 day when i checked out the very next morning at 930 am!!! Also the handle with the lock to the door to the room was broken and barely could get it to lock!

The facilities need an upgrade. The outer lining of the property was pretty unkept.There was a shed that was falling down in the back of the building. The complimentary breakfast was waffles and coffee with a couple of pieces of fruit, Cereal. Pretty basic. Positives, they left us alone and we were not bothered. They would knock and then we would come to the door and no one was there. We did have our dogs, but could of used fresh towels, etc. They seemed friendly when we interacted with them for the most part. Just not a great place to stay. Good location as far as closeness to the base and shopping. Not a great area overall though.

Hotel is nasty. We were first sent to a room that I’m fairly certain someone else was physically IN at the time, with food all over and the beds unmade. Went back up front and got switched to a new room which was incredibly dirty and roach infested. We didn’t even feel comfortable using the sink to brush our teeth because of the condition of the room. We didn’t bother checking on breakfast because we didn’t want to eat anything stored in the place.

The hotel was disgusting. Went in Expedia and booked another room immediately. The curtains were falling down. Bed linen was brown in color and had crumbs, bugs and stains on pillows and sheets. Bathroom was filthy. Dirty shower walls, stained tub, dirty sink. Advertised pool but there was no pool. Waterless hole with 2 feet of what smelled like sewage. Do not waste your time booking. Expedia should not have this listed. There is a reason there is a no refund policy at this location. Google review with pictures will be posted.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at

It was in a not so good neighborhood. The rooms had dead roaches everywhere. The tv didnt work, bathroom was disgusting,beds were to small for their frames. The curtains were hanging off and wouldnt close properly. If i woukd have read the other reviews we wouldnt gave stayed there. But we were working on a budget. I will definitely find a better place to stay. We even cut our stay short because we were so disappointed.

This place had all the basic amenities. It’s not fancy but the room I had was v clean. There happens a graduation ceremony nearby so you’ll see families visiting. I recommend this place for a quick stay/stop.

I had 2 rooms for our family members, the rooms where not very clean, floors where dirty and bed covers stained, the keys had to be taken to office to be reset at least every other time we tryed to get back into our rooms, because they would no longer open our doors, we where there for 3 nights, no fresh towels, and only 1 towel and hand towel per room, so we had to track house keeping down to ask for a towel, the staff where friendly enough, just not on top there jobs.

Did not like anything about this property. Booked for 3 nights, we stayed only 2 hours and drove to a different hotel 1 hour away. We evacuated during hurricane Milton, so vacancy was limited. But there was zero chance I would subject my family to this filth.

I booked a room with a king size bed. When we arrived we were given a room with two full beds. We went back to the lobby and told them that they gave us the wrong room and that I booked a room with a king sized bed. They then gave us another room. We went to look at the room and come to find that it too was a double bed. We proceeded back to the lobby to demand our money back. They ended up offering us a suite with a king size bed because the room we booked was not available. The suite was dirty. We found blood on the wall. The couch and chairs we could see actual dirt all over them. We could walk around bare footed because the floor was dirty as well. The pool that is advertised on the site is empty. There is no pool here. Just a hole in the ground. We will not be staying at another Econo lodge.

It's not the worst place I've stayed at. They we're repainting and updating the rooms so we didn't have everything they said the rooms have. I was told not to be outside after dark in the area. I personally didn't see anything too bad about the area.

Did not clean room or give clean towels during our stay. Painters left a mess on driveway and unable to park close to room. On 2nd night people outside at 3am were very loud. This was by far the worse place i have stayed at in over 50 years of travel. The office staff was polite

Extremely dirty

When I arrived the 1st room they gave us was absolutely dirty and had stained sheets and everything was so run down. (Nothing like the pictures on the webpage) They put us in another one and had same issues. The manger was very nice and offered us new sheets and blankets I asked if I can just get refunded he said yes, but then told me he can’t refund me because I booked through Expedia and they would have to say it’s ok. Well I called Expedia and they said they have nothing to do with it because we Paid on site! Expedia called and talked to them and they changed their minds and they would not refund us! So I guess when I have a 1star on service that’s why! They were nice! Until they weren’t! Of course I can’t add the pictures I took

The desk guy was a dick. Acted like we were a problem to his video watching. We ended up calling choice hotels international on them because they didn’t want to give us a refund. There were cigarette burns in the bed linens. There were roaches. And the place was a slum. Not worth a dime. We did not stay here but had to fight to get our money back. The walls and floor look like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The smell was awful. Like being in a dirty wet cellar. The desk clerk would not answer the phone. They would not allow us to receive a refund. Even called hotels.com for a refund and they didn’t want to give us a refund so we called their corporate owners. Corporate did end up giving us a refund. Do not book this hotel. And I wouldn’t recommend hotels.com either. They are both a joke and their “refund policy” is a lie. Horrible experience. I wouldn’t even stay there if I were homeless. Here is a photo of the tub… It speaks for the whole room. If I could give the hotel and hotels.com a minus a million I would. They are both shiesty and try to take advantage of you.

Lights didn’t works.

The room was being worked on that they gave us so they gave us another room that one too was being painted and fixed so they gave us a 3rd room that one was just finished and they didn't clean up afterwards and the chair for the table was being used outside to help them paint another room and the little sofa was in the hall way with a worker sitting in it. When I talked to the manager the next day they used the excuse that the guy checking us in was in training (all by himself no one else to train him) but I had made arrangements for someplace else for the remainder of our trip so we did not stay the rest of the time there and it is a week later and still no refund for the remainder of the days we didn't stay there. Don't think I will use them again.

The pictures of the rooms listed on Expedia must have been taken when the place was built. The room was something you’d pay by the hour for. Nasty, old, musty. After checking in, I left the premises after being told no refunds. I felt unsafe, unclean and mostly, unhealthy! Disgusting place!! If this is what Expedia offers, I’ll never use it again!

Sorry, I wish I could say nice things about this hotel but I can’t. We arrived very late at night, we were exhausted and basically collapsed into our rooms. It was very hot and humid so we fired up the A/C . I woke up in the morning with a scratchy throat and pissed off sinus congestion. The room A/C was filthy and it was apparent the filters don’t get cleaned. Sick building syndrome, it’s a thing look it up. It’s been a week and I’m still sick, upper respiratory infection. It ruined the whole experience for me. We left the room and went to another hotel at a significant expense. A word of warning, pay attention to your body, dirty air conditioners spew dirt and mold and can make you very sick. By the time we left my eyes were nearly swollen shut, sinus infection, headache, coughing sneezing and fever. Ears plugged nearly solid and of course complete loss of taste. It was embarrassing to be in public and suddenly have a coughing fit and constantly blowing my nose. Please service those air conditioners.

The outside was fine, but the room was a dump, holes in the walls, curtains falling down, black mold in the exhaust fan in the bathroom that didn’t work and was falling out. Toilet had so much caulking to the floor and it leaked.I didn’t know if all the rooms looked like that but the best thing they could do is gut the room and redo it. When I told them about the room they didn’t seem to care. I took pictures to show them that I had not done the damage to the room, so I would not get charged. Not a place I would say again or recommend to my friends. STAY AWAY.

The food was old and stale and rotten. The area was EXTREMELY dangerous to the point we had a gun pointed at us and the staff manager was extremely rude,unprofessional,and gave nothing but attitude towards my wife when I wasn’t around. We refuse to stay here again.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been in. Walked only 2 steps in the room and had to kill roaches. The room was so old and falling apart. The bathroom ceiling had bubbles due to water damage. Horrible I would have left but we arrived at 430 AM and had to leave by 8am for ceremony. Never again

You really do get what you pay for. Unfortunately this was the nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The Indian who checked us in was rude, it was like I bothered him (for doing his job and checking me in, as he should…lol). Don’t stay here. Pay for a better place. On this trip, I also had one of my friends who experience just about all of the same problems in her own room, as well as black mold around the door frame. Speaking with the attendant that was there at the moment as well as the manager that was on the phone, they tried saying it was, just dirty from the rain getting in, which obviously if it’s getting in it can lead to mold From the water seeping in, which is exactly what happened. At this point, we were uncomfortable at trying to stay here, especially since they did not hold up there Health code standards. I also do not agree with their policy that once you check in, you can’t get a refund.

The walls in the shower were dirty. The water in the tub was clogged and wouldn’t drain. The toilet paper holder, microwave and luggage rack are rusty. The entire place was uncared for, inside and outside.

This property was the worst!! Room was dirty mold in bathroom. Fleas biting. They had old mattresses thrown all over parking lot! We did not stay and hope to get my money back since they took my money without my knowledge.

Very dirty toilet didn't work, so unsafe we checked out and had to pay for another hotel room somewhere else.

We checked in after midnight and took ringing the bell for 15 min before anyone came to the door to let us in to check in. I had paid for a king bed room and got 2 doubles. The TV did not work, gave you the guide channel then no channel worked. The place was disgusting with dust and dirt and spots on lamp shade that looked like blood. The shower had vice gribs as a knob and a plastic bag wrapped around the shower head. The sheets were stained. Worst experience ive had while traveling.

The rooms smelled like smoke. We even changed rooms. The light fixtures were hanging off the wall. The television turned on but would give no channels. The staff said they would come look at it and never showed up. There are no USB ports in the room and limited outlets. No refrigerator and a very old microwave. The mattresses had old springs and you sunk into them living an indentation when you stood up. Only nice thing - they gave us two free water bottles when we checked in. This is the second time in this trip we were burned at an Econo Lodge. Not worth the savings.
