SureStay Hotel by Best Western St. Pete Clearwater Airport

No bugs and fairly quiet considering the location. They don’t answer the phone though for reservations, I guess.

I had roaches in my room, switched to a room with more roaches. The room had a weird smell but it was really clean. The staff were cool and didn’t get upset to my reaction about the roaches. All they need is some type of barrier and to fix the holes around the air conditioner. I don’t recommend this hotel if you not use to roaches. I didn’t unpack or take off any clothes until I was in a new hotel

Breakfast wasn’t bad, could have been a lot better but it worked. Unlike my door and lock on the top. That couldn’t be pushed open with a small shove. The rest of the place was fine and you couldn’t hear the airport at all.

We had to request a refund because the conditions were unacceptable. Super disappointed never again will I book at this location.

Rooms clean and excellent customer service. The only negative was water and coffee machines in lobby were turned off after breakfast. However, they will give you bottled water upon request!

Air conditioner needs upgrade was hot in room and need to refill soap for customers in bathrooms for use.

Do not stay there. The staff is just as unkept as the property. I walked in to dirty floors and roaches. I was only in for 2 days so I tried to tough it out after I saw 2 roaches. Then I saw 4 more I called and asked to be moved because I was a solo traveller at 10pm at night staff said the only thing she can do is spray some raid. Yes raid at 10pm at night she said I could leave if I wanted but would have to come back the next day for a refund. Luckily I booked via Expedia I sent them pictures and videos of the roaches and they were able to help me find a new hotel free of charge difference not to far away. U can tell how a property is ran based on how the staff looks and they for the better word looked unkept. They are rude as didn’t even want to answer questions. The phone in room also didn’t work well

The toilet was not connected to the wall and pipes exposed in the back. Also rocked when sat upon. Same with shower head, pipes exposed and hanging out the wall. No water pressure at sink at all. Had to wash hands at bathtub faucet. Black spots splattered on ceiling above bed. Mold on curtains above AC unit. Old Spice sticker stuck to smoke detector above bed and hanging down. Overall the worst Best Western I have ever stayed at, and I usually gravitate towards this hotel chain as they are usually pretty decent. Hotel staff member at check in very rude. Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

I came at night so not quite sure about amenities or grounds but my room was clean and comfortable. Only stayed one night before a flight.

The staff were EXCELLENT. The room we stayed in was questionable. Not clean. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room was very outdated. The electric amenities seemed unsafe, and the air conditioning worked well, but it made the bedding feel damp. We did not use the shower because the room was dirty. I was barefoot, and the bottom my feet were literally black from walking around in the room for only a few hours.

The location wasn't far from the airport. Cockroaches in one of our rooms, followed by being charged twice for each room. Also, they didn't have enough wash cloths and towels in the rooms, and unable to get any at the front desk. They do not have access to the laundry room after hours. I am waiting to hear back from the hotel about being charged twice.

The hotel was VERY close to the airport which I found funny that I didn't read any comments about in other reviews lol. It didn't affect our nights' sleep though! Staff was VERY friendly.

Staff was great and accommodating with late check out. Once we entered the room there was a smell like mildew coming from the AC. I travel with candles and smell goods so we used them and it was fine. Beds comfy, sheets clean (smelled clean) and for the room, microwave, fridge and bathroom were clean. But Woke up around 5am and there was a roach assuming it came in due to the weather strips missing around the door or could have been from inside the AC. We ended up leaving earlier than the normal check out time.

The room was generally well presented; however, we found short black hairs in the sink and on the shower walls, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. There was also debris on the floor when we arrived. The pool area was not stocked with towels as expected, which was inconvenient. The hotel is very close to the airport, so airplane noise is noticeable at all hours. Overall, it wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, and I would consider returning given the price.

I didn’t even end up staying the night. I walked into the room and the entire room had a musty, dirty smell. The toilet wouldn’t flush it just kept running. I did not feel safe in the area. All of the corners of the room were dirty along with the walls, heater, windows, etc. I did not feel comfortable sleeping there, especially due to the smell.

The breakfast was good. The staff people that was serving the breakfast were tentative. The breakfast was fresh. You can tell that the rooms, where our room specifically it needs some remodeling the doors were older, even the outside of the hotel. The sheets were clean, however we ran out of shower gel, which actually was not stocked at all, but the staff people came and were attentive to that. Our bathroom, the floors still had hairs on the floors. If you need somewhere to stay for a weekend, honestly it’s not bad, but a lot of work can be done. Also, in the toilet seat area, it was some hairs. Again the sheets and the pillows were all cleaned and the staff people were very nice and attentive.

We unfortunately did not have a tv remote when we arrived. Went down to the desk and neither one of them knew how to reprogram a new remote. Told us they would the following day. We went all week without the remote.

We had to change rooms because in the first one, the shower was continuously running. Then when we switched rooms, the toilet was not flushing well. It took several flushes to get anything down. The staff was nice.

There is also a fee for early check in which I wasnt informed of. I had called the property in advance and asked about early check in and was told if a room was available they would accommodate. The room and common areas were very clean. I loved that there is a hot buffet breakfast available. This hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes from TPA. The pool is small but nice. I only wish for more towels.

The staff at this hotel works harder and better than any hotel I’ve stayed in. The rooms bedding bathtub everything upgraded. Pool is located perfectly for peace not parking lot. The maids clean like maniacs and are as kind as can be. The front desk people are nice patient and supper attentive. It is a well run machine. But I see the exterior staff working constantly but no matter what they do the exterior needs tons of help. Sidewalk paint is failing looks horrible. Horrible. The windows have broken thermopane seals. There are only two lounge chairs that are not broken. Definitely not enough. And you can only lay on your stomach on one super hard chair with no cushion. It’s Florida people. We wanna use the pool comfortably.

Just an old run down hotel. It looks like someone is trying to make it look better, lots of paint, furniture painted... really poor tiling jobs on floors and tub. Lots of tiles were loose or broken on the floor. The toilet wobbled bad. Tub full of hair. It rained heavily and we had water running down the wall and all over tge floor. The walls looked to be painted over several times. The guests here looked to be long term as they were sitting around the outside property. Stay somewhere else.

I initially checked into room #118, however upon arrival and turning on the lights we experienced a foul electrical smell and the smoke detector immediately sounded in the room. This occurred within 30 seconds entering the room. I went to the Front Desk to explain the situation, however the manager didn’t believe me and said the detector probably needed new batteries. She immediately said the hotel was sold out and there were no further rooms available. I repeated my claim of the foul electrical smell. She personally went to the room and returned to apologize to me and my wife. she said the room was recently renovated because the previous person occupied the room for a year. She found that the air conditioner was not programmed properly and not functioning which caused the electrical smell. Fortunately or unfortunately, they suddenly found room #236 available. The room was situated near the highway and the noisiest that we have ever experienced. Upon checking out the following morning at the Front Desk, I received a receipt for a total including all taxes in the amount $124.38 USD. I initially made the reservation directly online with Hotels.com for $141.56 USD which I am now disputing the overcharge with my credit card company.

The roo.s are older and the doors are outside BUT the rooms were clean, smelled great and when i came back after being gone for the day housekeeping came.in and had cleaned, replaced towels AND made.my bed. Without me asking!!! I havent had that kind of service wothout having to beg since before Covid. Great Job!!!

The check in was not available until 5:30 compared to the 3:00 advertised because rooms were not available. We were locked out of our room three seperate occasions due to our keys not working that were given to us. Room was good, lighting is a bit tough. Hospitality friendly, pool slightly filthy.

Was given a room that was already occupied. Had to go to the reception to ask for another room (this never happened to me). Room card/key was valid for one day only. Had to check with the receptionist to reactivate my room keys for duration of my stay. Coffee maker was missing filter basket, another trip to the reception..... The staff member were nice and polite, the room was clean, standard continental breakfast was nice as well. No issues with the food, overall cleanliness or staff's overall communication skills. The hotel is literally next to a regional airport, but we did not hear much of noise. For the money, not bad of a deal overall.

The receptionist was great, very friendly and understanding. The room on the other hand… there was mold ALL over the bed and walls, there were pills and bug feces on the floor. Tweakers were outside and others were smoking weed. We left immediately after checking out the room and seeing all of this. I lost out on one night cost but it was totally worth it to go somewhere else knowing it was safe and clean.

The outdoor amenities especially the furniture is broken and dangerous but for one chair. The gazebo chairs and end tables are gross and some broken. A fire circle doesn’t have fire. I have fallen thru these chairs twice straight to concrete.

It's a very old hotel with fresh paint. It was clean and that's about the only thing this hotel had going for it. The mattress was caved in, the shower head was broken, and it was spraying all over the bathroom.

A large group that sounded like 10 adults and 25 kids (probably wasn't) checked in around 9 pm, and they were incredibly noisy all night until around 2 am. Trying to sleep for a very early flight was difficult.

It was adequate for an overnight before flying out of PIE. It’s older and there is no elevator, which was hard with large suitcases.

The hotel offers cheap accommodation close to the Clearwater St Pete beaches and 20 mins to Tampa. I guess you get what you pay for, very basic, outdated and a property with zero frills. If this is what you want it’s perfect, if you want anything more then don’t stay at this property.

Staff were great

The staff was terrific, the rooms were clean and well maintained. The grounds were kept clean and orderly. What stood out the most was the staff, very courteous and professional. I had a very nice stay there and were stay there again AND recommend it to others!

People were nice however when we arrived the bed sheets were dirty, the microwave didn’t work and neither did the vanity light. They didn’t have any clean towels. We were constantly going down to the lobby in hopes that they had some but came up empty handed several times

Read the reviews, I should have. Many have had issues with roaches also. I would never stay here again!

The shower head leaked alot which flooded the bathroom floor. Bathroom was infested with water ants. We really like to have a night stand on both sides of the bed as well. Breakfast is always great, hot and ready with a enjoyable welcoming from the staff.

Went out of their way to fund a downstairs room, because he is walking with a cane.

Staff was great, however, there was no towels in the room, folks using the washer and dryer in the middle of the night which didn’t let me sleep and the keys always needed reset

The room was dirty, there was a big bug we had to kill right when we arrived. The shelf above the fridge rattled horribly. We were only there from 11pm til 5am to catch a flight, thank goodness! I almost went to stay next door instead. The pics make this place look a lot better than it is.

The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful, very nice and answered all our questions. Very short drive to the airports which made for an easy travel day. Surprisingly even tho we were right next to the runway and could see the planes landing it was quiet at night. The kid&baby slept right though it.

Check in clerk was great, extended check out time to accommodate for flight being delayed 2 1/2 hours, and we didn’t arrive til after 2 am! Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Having to go up a couple flights of stairs was a little unhandy, and extra lock was loose. Four guests, only 2 bath towels and washcloths on arrival.

There were cockroaches in the room! And when addressed with the front desk, I was told a refund wasn’t even an option. There was no communication of sympathy or empathy, just disregarded the severity of the situation.

Staff even called to double check on the kind of room we had reserved online to make sure it was what we wanted! They also have a driver on standby who can help get you around when the hotel shuttle stops running at 10:00 p.m.

The staff was great. Always willing to answer questions and help when needed. The airport shuttle was an excellent amenity. The toilet didn't work great and the beds were a little old but for our purpose it was okay.

Place is very clean and updated for the price. Customer service at front desk with Mrs Crishina it's amazing. You can tell all employees there are doing their work at their best. Keep doing that amazing job.

Clean, breakfast was nice, staff was wonderful. The shower curtain was on a rod that was curved so the water went all over the floor every time we showered. That was the only issue. Room was updated, clean, comfortable.

After over 2 hours of on the phone with expedia and working with who knows else, these two managed tp work out an honest mistake on my part of the wrong date. They were so amazing and kind and i truly appreciate everything they did for me.

We had an excellent experience! The staff was amazing. Our autistic son left his tablet outside and we were unaware, and they called to let us know they found it and they would keep it in the office for us. The daily breakfast was amazing. The pool area was excellent and our kids loved it. The staff was incredibly friendly. The hotel is conveniently located and it was easy for us to get around. We would definitely stay here again. The room we were in smelt like mold. We both felt sick throughput the night sneezing alot. We have stayed there before in different rooms but never this uncomfortable.

Great staff, easy check in, nice pool, decent breakfast, great for the price. Only bad things I would have to complain about is the beds could be a little more comfortable, we stayed for a week and had back pain every morning we woke up, time for a little updating. Also, the mini fridge was build in so it seemed, maybe placed just right inside of the entertainment center/dresser and there was mold all over the bottom due to the condensation from the fridge, again, time for some updating/upgrading. Other than that we had a pleasant stay and would definitely consider returning to stay again. Again, great staff they all were helpful, friendly and easygoing!

Ive come to really like the hotel, stores close by, quite, and very comfortable.

We checked in with Barbara and she gave details with beaches in the area. She's nice and though rough when we checked in. We were surprised to find out our room ran out of hand soap and then shampoo and then towels. We had to go to front desk and housekeepers to ask for. We can hear noises from a small airport close by. We feel the place is a bit not safe. Inside the hotel looks good, but we see the hotel painted with dark grey outside/exterior which made it looks like an old cheap place. We think brighter color for exterior looks more appealing and upscale (e.g. green, light yellow/blue/orange, and etc.)

The room was not the cleanest, the fridge had a horrible smell when it was open. Had to open the toilet tank to flush the toilet. Housekeeping never took our trash. The staff was good though

Property was fine for a 1 night stay after a late arrival at St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport. Room was fine; nothing special. Breakfast bar was good and staff was friendly.

I had called and let the hotel i would be arriving late due to my lste flight. They were very friendly and made a note for the night manager that i would be checking in after midnight. I was checked righ in when i arrived and had a very nice clean comfortable room to get some needed rest in.

This is my family's second time staying here, and again, we were very happy with our stay. This place has proven to keep its cleanliness and easy check-in. The staff is kind and helpful. I've not experienced any one of them with attitude or unwillingness to help. The breakfast was the same spread, but a good one: eggs, sausage, and potatoes. Bagels, muffins, toast, and English muffins. The kids would love better cereal options, but that's nitpicking at something. We love staying here for quick stays in between our travels.

Did not feel safe traveling alone with my daughter in this location. Area super sketchy. No elevator, had to shlep our stuff up 2 flights of stairs. Everything dirty, worn out & dated. We left before breakfast, so I can’t speak to the food, but judging from what the “lobby” looked like, I don’t think it would be great. I guess I got what I paid for.

The experience was not only frustrating but raised serious concerns regarding safety, professionalism, and the overall management of the establishment. We experienced major issues with every room assigned to us: The first room was dirty and clearly had not been cleaned or prepared for guests. The second room was already occupied, which was not only extremely uncomfortable but a serious violation of safety and privacy. The third room had a malfunctioning door—we could not even get into the room because the door was completely stuck. This situation was made even more alarming as we were traveling with young children. In the event of an emergency such as a fire, a door that cannot be opened poses a serious safety hazard. The entire experience left us feeling unsettled, disappointed, and completely unaccommodated. To make matters worse, the employee we spoke with was rude, dismissive, and continually offered unreasonable excuses instead of trying to resolve the situation. The lack of accountability and professionalism was appalling. Not only did we have issues but the other people who were checking in. They had a line of people complaining.

The maintenance guy, attitude, maybe likes newports, was beyond rude, bordering wanting to fight probably because he was asked by the front desk to replace our microwave? He knocked louder than any motel staff I’ve ever experienced to knock, as loud as a cop, even though these rooms are small enough to hear a mouse knock on the door. When I answered, he said, “OH, YOU in one Fih-teen!” Then he was quiet while I was trying to strike up friendly convo. Literally throwing the box on one of our beds, “Oh looks like we are getting a brand new microwave, nice!” ….. (no response) … “or it looks like a new one…” ….no response as he furiously cut open the box and placed the microwave, then left without saying a word. I had asked for a microwave that worked since Saturday night and didn’t get it till I reminded them 3x and it was swapped out on Monday at around 4 pm. Breakfast 3.5 stars. Breakfast staff and front desk were solid, hard working, and polite. 5 stars if everyone spoke English and smiled. The coffee was watered down crap. Tiny baby roaches hung out near the ac unit and traveled inside of the plastic wire hiders near that area. It took me a few nights to help my wife and daughters to relax letting them know that roaches were harmless and just looking for food. I don’t mind bugs, we are in Florida, but when you combine all the issues….

Price good and very clean. Unfortunately airport shuttle was full, which is one of the reasons I chose the property so I had to pay for an Uber.

Overall great value ,would stay again..,but towel had hair on it but nothing is perfect.we got more towels from desk no problem..the color scheme wasn't appealing but inside room nice ..the ugly choc.mud brown painted cement.ugh.orangish doors ugh .good cont.breqkfast tho and room...oo AC had one speed low .we needed room cooler.

Spent two days at this property for a birthday trip and I have to say I was thoroughly pleased with my stay! My room was clean with clean, conformable bedding and ice cold A/C. Some properties advertise breakfast and you only get an apple and a granola bar. This hotel had an ample hot breakfast that really made me smile after a night of birthday libations. Front desk is so attentive and approachable. Shana is an absolute sweet heart! Watched planes take off while relaxing in the swimming pool. I couldn't just leave a rating this property deserved a review! I will most definitely return.

This is nice for a night or 2 stay, hot breakfast, staff were nice and greeted you everytime your were seen. It is tucked in the back off the main road. The airport is close by and can be heard taking off, but not disruptive; was nice ti watch then land and take off.

Check in process was quick and location wasn't too far from beaches. AC worked great and the free breakfast was a plus. The gentleman who checked us out in the morning was super nice. This is not a huge hotel or super fancy either but works just fine for simple needs. We'll definitely use again if in the area.

It was just one night and spur of the moment. The night clerk was awesome and super friendly. Check in was a breeze. The room was clean and you can tell it was just renovated. I like the decor.

I usually review hotels based on their WOW factor. I always go in expecting not so great and am pleasantly surprised or just neutral lol This hotel was neutral, the staff was super friendly, but it wasn't anything to talk about. The room had a weird smell, which my husband says is "regular hotel smell," but that's just it. It was just regular. Ok for the price, but just ok. The breakfast, however, was surprising. They had a lot of options, and they were tasty, so that was great. The pool is small, but it did the job for playing with the kids. It was listed as a no-pet hotel; it even said no pets on the main lobby doors. However, there were people with their dogs in the food area, not to mention in their stroller, so there was no missing them or mistaking them. I left my own pup home because of this, so it didn't feel right.

The property is a bit dated. It needs a lot of renovation. The staff is nice and responsive.

The hotel staff did a great job. The breakfast was good with many food selection. The location is very close to the airport . It's very convenient for people who travel but it's little noisy when airplanes talking off or landing.the hotel is about 30min drive to the beach.

Over all i enjoyed my stay. The cabana and fire pit really came in handy for a cookout/pool party i threw while in town. Reservation was messed up the first night but they corrected it the next day. Staff is pretty friendly. But beware! If you plan on spending Alf off time by the pool and in the cabana,, buy plenty of off spray. They biting flies are brutal

There was a small roach crawling on the wall while breakfast was served in the lobby. Another roach in my room on the refrigerator. A wasp was in my bed the first night. There is little ventilation in the bathroom making it impossible to shower without the door open.

Dirty and run down. Hair dryer didn’t work either. Bed was rickety and sheets and bedding were damp…..

There were roaches spiders ants and 2 other bugs i don't know what they were in my room and saw a roach crawling by the food in breakfast area.

Friendly staff and cleaning personnel. But there were roaches and ants in my room. And roaches walking by the breakfast food.

Room served its purpose and was a place to shower and sleep. The room smelled like an ashtray and breakfast was average but again the room served its purpose. Would stay again if I had to.
