Quality Inn San Diego South - Chula Vista

Stayed here for 6 nights. First four nights the room we were in was clean. I just hope they clean the carpets more often. If you walk barefoot you can see it was not getting cleaned. Aside from that everything else was clean. Last 2 nights we were in a different room and it was meh compared to the first one. Flooring was not carpeted so way better. Also, breakfast is very good considering it is complimentary I just wish they switch menu everyday. All in all stay here was good. Outside of Hotel was very bright during the night and location is very convenient.

Breakfast was fresh, the staff is very nice and welcoming. We arrived where there were 2 police cars, we already were scared about what's going on. The room itself seems nice on pictures, but very small and old in reality. Headlights on the bed were not working. TV stand door was broken, and the bed was making loud metallic sound when you sit on it. Good things; elevator was very helpful, ice machine was an amazing idea to have. The staff as I mentioned super nice. The actual hotel area is very rural and dirty. We did breakfast late, and they almost cleaned everything, we asked for milk, the lady helped us without hesitation.

It wasn’t terrible people there were very nice but personally felt sticky while in the room. The bottom of the door didn’t have a seal so did have to put towels on the bottom of the door.

My stay was may 13 to the 16 and lets just say its cheap for a reason. The staff were very helpful and nice, but we did have a situation. So we check in go to our room and of course look around and I kid you not throw up or some type of food on the curtain. We call the front desk and they were nice enough to switch our rooms. But I dont think I will ever stay at another quality Inn again.

And the desk for the computer did not have any place to plug in. Only plug close was used for the fridge and microwave. Put a light with the plugs there at least.

It was a nice room but our door had a pretty decent size Gap and it was a big enough gap for a month to fly in and to hear people in front or nextdoor outside as well as see light so had to put a towel down. But good stay overall the complimentary breakfast was pretty decent. Staff was pretty nice

On the first night, one of your staff members went at midnight to try to test out a key in the room that I was in and see if he was able to have access to the room. I was very startled and scared. The next morning his reasoning was that the prior person staying there was trying to stay in the same room, which made no sense.

I know some older reviews say the place needs a make over. The front desk staff told me new owners had taken it over and the rooms are remodeled. Even with outlets that have USB ports on them. The bed was comfortable for me (it sits on an aluminum frame which made noise when I sat on the edge of the bed. It makes no noise when your on / in the bed. The shower had nice hot water but could use more water pressure. I brought this up with the front desk staff and they said because the building was older, they were stuck with the way the pressure is. My sink didn't drain well so I told the staff. They said they'd put in the work order to have it checked. They said the only way they know of issues in a room is if a guest brings it to their attention. The breakfast is the same every morning. For me that was fine. I like the waffle makers. They have what looks like a microwaved egg similar to a egg McMuffin and sausages every morning along with english muffins and bagels. The eggs are ok, better then scrambled eggs many breakfasts are, but the eggs are awful because they come out of a liquid container. I took the egg and made a bagel sandwich. The sausage is ok. One day the pantry door was open and I did notice that the orange and apple juice were from bottled juices, not the pouches many motels use. Both were very good juices. They also have apples, some pastry, peanut butter, yogurt, Raisin Bran and Cherios along with coffee.

Hotel is in a bit so great neighborhood. We were leery of leaving our luggage in the room when we went out. There were mystery stains on the ceiling and holes on the light shade. The coffe pot sits in the corner of the bathroom next to the toilet. The lounge chair was literally jammed between the bed and exterior wall and looked like it was from the 70s. Room smelled a bit like a wet dog. But with all of that the bedding was at least new and clean and the room did get the job done. But the photos and other reviews make this place sound much nicer than it is. Was not expecting anything fancy as we knew it was a mid tier to low tier hotel price. But it was definitely a let down from the moment we approached the parking lot from the street.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Most places are within walking distance or less than 10 minutes drives. The area was very quiet, other than people reving their engines at the stop light. I've stayed here several times over the past three years and I haven't had any major problems with the place. Breakfast options aren't terrible, but I can't really give full details since I usually go to get apple juice, tea, waffles and whatever protein option is a available. Overall, I enjoy the stay. House keeping is also very good about cleaning the rooms daily.

We were attending a conference about a mile away. Hotels.com has very few properties in Chula Vista. This was the closest to the conference site. I checked out within 5 minutes of arriving and had to drive 4.5 hours back to Los Angeles, completely exhausted. This place deserves negative five stars. My trip turned into a nightmare because of this experience.

The hotel is a little old and rundown. My first room reeked of cigarette smoke. In both rooms the bathroom ceiling had been patched horribly and the paint was bubbling along with mold on the caulk above the tub. And the sink would hold water if you ran it for more than 20 seconds. Overall the room wasn’t dirty if you exclude the bathroom. It does smell like cleaning supplies however, which isn’t a good or bad thing I suppose. I did not see any bugs so that’s alway good.

Checking in went easy, good amount of parking. Got the the room and smelled heavily of cleaning agents. Found what looks like blood on the door of the bathroom, I was able to get a napkin and wipe it off There was a stain on the floor that looked like blood too. The ironing board was beyond dirty so I didn’t use it. Broken outlet for the wash room. Killed a roach during my stay. Permit on the elevator was up to date (yes I look for these sorts of things) Breakfast they claimed starts at 5 but that was a lie, also when I did get breakfast it was not hot, barely room temp. The waffles were a hit. Coffee was mostly water. Wi-Fi only worked on the first day Also needed to check out early so I asked the night before what time I could check out, they said anytime and to my surprise (not) I get to the window and all the lights are turned off. Only needs to wait about 2 minutes though. Needless to say I won’t be staying here again.

The best 2⭐ hotel I had found!!! I know that the staff here works really hard from the front desk to the attendant , cleaner and everyone else because I had a great experiences during my stay. I like that they have a complimentary water and a protein bar during check in so that we dont have to worry about our drinking water throughout our first night. I love that everything is clean, towels are sparkling white, coffee pod in the room, comfortable bed and chairs , fridge, microwave, hair blower , tv of course and shampoo/conditioner and lotions are filled up and a couple of bar soaps. I had a quiet and comfortable night. I love that we felt safe during our stay. Their breakfast sets are basic (waffle, bagel, muffins?, egg, sausage, oatmeal?, coffee, juices, yogurt etc) but well enough to fill the stomach before your day starts but they close a little early at 9am (6am to 9am), so I missed my breakfast on my last day of stay because I came passed 9am 🤭.

The office and breakfast area were nice, there was lots of breakfast options. The room was not so clean. The bathroom was full of mold on the ceiling and by the toilet. The bathtub had a hole in it, and the ac unit looked like it was falling out of the wall. The curtains were so long, they hung over the ac, so it cooled the inside of the curtains and not the room itself. There were clothes from the previous tenant. The rest of the property was clean and the staff was very friendly.

When we arrived the staff was friendly and the room was clean. I asked for additional shampoo as their bottles are small. He advised that there was a dispenser for shampoo in the room. There was not and we had to go back to the office to get more. Great first night and when we came back the following evening the room was cleaned but the blankets were gone. We asked for the blankets to be replaced and recieved a very tiny brown blanket. It was definitely not the nice comforters that we had the first night. It rained that night and it was freezing.

The toilet was plugged and the sink too. I called the reception desk and I let him know but no one went to fix it. My husband told the cleaning lady and she went to get a tool to fix it but we kept having issues. The toilet tank was not getting any water. I had to keep opening the cover to hold it so that I could flash it. They never went to fix the sink. I’m very disappointed. It was super frustrating to be dealing with this on our vacation. I asked the cleaning lady for two towels and she refused to give them to me. She said that because it was a room with one bed she was not supposed to give them to me. I never heard anything like that anywhere.

My cousin and I recently stayed at this hotel and our stay was not the best. During our entire stay we had issues with the bathroom toilet. The toilet would not work properly and we had to call the office several times for the them to come to fix the toilet. The toilet would not flush and we did not like how maintenence told us we needed to open the toilet lid in order to flush the toilet. That is totally unexceptable! The man who worked the Help Desk at night was rude and when I went to the office to ask a question he said he could not hear me so, I repeated myself and he accused talking too loud. That is very rude. The breakfast was decent. It did not have a good variety of breakfast food but it was okay. This hotel need to better maintain its appliances.

At first we thought the property would not be a good place to stay in, mainly because of the location. It doesnt look like a good area. We were going to find another hotel, but then we said its only for 1 night. We were surprised the room turned out to be a good room. We were happy in the end.

Very convenient location and the place was very quiet

Great staff and very clean, but very old and with a lot of failing parts. The elevator was broken for one day. The sink was hardly draining. There was no clothing iron in the dedicated space above the ironing board in the room. The room I stayed in had likely been smoked in - the maids were being very generous with the freshener to cover the smoke smell. Overall, it was a good value considering the price, but it is far from a luxurious accommodation.

Not a good neighborhood around, inside the room floor is dusty and you could hear people walk by all night, water running noises from building TV is not working.

I was here to help family and this location was perfect. I was nicely decorated and clean. Hotel provided breakfast and we enjoyed it every morning. Nice fresh ingredients. I would recommend this hotel.

The stay was comfortable, but the cleaning Staff could be a lot quieter whe performing thier dutied.

I did not like the gap under the room door and the water pressure in the shower was super low & took longer to rinse off.
