Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond-Chester

We generally look for Homewood suites location while traveling with my young children. The one bedroom option with a kitchen always fits our needs. Every time we stay the staff is always incredibly welcoming and friendly. This past stay we received a complimentary upgrade to our room which was not necessary however highly appreciated.

The room and hotel were wonderful. The room was spacious and kitchen and bathroom was very nice. At check in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay at this hotel again and also in other cities.

Everything from the location to the staff to the suite, it really made me feel at home and at peace The only thing I didn’t like was that some of the dishes had food residue on them for example a couple knives and forks, a plate or two and a pot. I simply saw how large the facilities were and I decided to wash dishes and make everything exceptional but other than that the facilities and dining and room and bathroom were excellent

Breakfast was excellent, our room was clean however the panel that was in front of the air conditioning unit was not screwed in and just leaning against it. Very dangerous if we had children. Front staff staff was nice and friendly. As a rewards member, we receive a small token usually bottled water which was not received

The property was great, the rooms were new and great. My only issue was there wasn’t bedding I. The room for the pullout bed. When I called down to the front desk they said I need to come down and pick it up. So the room wasn’t prepared well and it is the customers responsibility to correct it?

The room wasn’t really clean, it was a smell in it. I sprayed lysol . Fingers prints on table, I was hostess a party in the area so I self with it.

The homeless clan and I love to set up. You have almost like an efficiency the way the room is set up the practice to use a little work only because the food was kind of cold or lukewarm. I love the kitchenette that’s inside of each other other units or at lease the room I rent it all. I love the place second time staying there

The mattress was uncomfortable, and the pillows were flimsy.

I highly recommend this hotel! The staff was very welcoming and friendly at check in and loved my little dog. The hotel is extremely clean. My room was quiet and spacious and safe for walking my dog. I will definitely reserve a stay at this hotel again!

The stay was nice The front desk employee Brandon was rude, disrespectful and liar. The hotel didn’t offer continental breakfast due to a drainage/ water problem. Brandon repeatedly said you won’t get a hot breakfast today, when I asked him to speak with the manager he quoted she’s unavailable which was a lie, so unprofessional.

We had to wait an hour and a half AFTER check in to get into our room. It had not been cleaned. The door to the room would NOT lock at all. There was a huge(live) roach found on the wall in the room. It was reported to the front dest.

The room was clean. We had a full kitchen, huge bathroom and king sized bed. We had a living area too. The staff was excellent, attentive, polite, curteous. The guest were great to. I will definitely stay again.

I have no complaints It was clean and I had a king suit and it was the perfect size and had all I needed for my stay.

The pullout couch was uncomfortable but still manageable.

I love the location, the professionalism, the breakfast in the morning, the happy hour, and the comfortable atmosphere. There were some young men smoking marijuana in the parking lot.

Loved the stay here. They allowed me to check in early, which was great. The room was well equipped with everything. I was only staying one night but had a full kitchen with all the supplies and full size fridge. Loved everything about it, even the ceiling fan over the bed which is great for sleeping. Breakfast had a good selection. The manager was excellent. He checked with everyone at breakfast to see if everything was ok. He also brought towels to the pool when they were requested. Not having towels at the pool was the only issue with the stay

Just one night...but the staff made us feel like we'd been living there for years. The manager walked around during bfast to check on folks, the front desk was incredibly helpful and kind, Anne Marie completely rocks. Will gladly stop here again.

Great kitchen and comfortable beds, light blocking drapes, Breakfast options outstanding and enjoyable happy hour experience Housekeeping removed towels but did not replace and prolonged cold shower water in mornings. May have been my room. Except the latter two issues 5 star experience overall.

My first choice when coming to this area. The staff is great! They are always helpful and have excellent attitudes. Rooms have always been clean and the breakfast is good.

The stay was going well until I realized that the pull out bed was broken. With larger size women, sleeping in the same double bed doesn’t work. I had to put the mattress on the floor but it was not comfortable. The person we spoke to at the front desk was not very pleasant. However, we were told that there were no extra rooms and no cots. The service was spectacular. However, we asked for a toaster in our room and was told that the rooms were not provided with toasters and we would have to use the communal toaster in the dining area. Then, friends came to stay in a different room and they had a toaster! Additionally, we were in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite. The unit had 2 furnaces, one of which wasn't working. We ended up having to use space heaters to keep the suite warm. Not great given we paid over $300 per night for our stay.

We’ve stayed here about 6 times. Swimming pool has been closed for months. In our room the main TV was broken. One electric cook top element was broken and so was the dishwasher. We had only 1 dinner fork. Ice machine on 5th floor has been broken for a month; now the 6th floor machine is out of order. Breakfast coffee was cold. Chester VA is a main stop-over for us. We will be choosing another hotel from now on.

I spent almost $200 a night to stay here. It was dirty, bathroom fixtures were broken. Used bar of soap in the shower. Furniture was stained, was given a smoking room without telling me. I will never stay at a Hilton again. Staff was made aware 1st day of broken fixtures and used soap in the shower yet did nothing. Pool was closed for the entire duration but was advertised when I booked the room. Hotel advertised laundry in the hotel but you had to pay extra to use it. I've stayed at other hotels that didn't charge for landry. The elevators were dirty and everything except the lobby and breakfast area was old, out dated, and broken. Very disappointed with my stay and will never come back.

They were wonderful at checkin considering I was with 2 kids and one running around like a maniac in the lobby. Quick and helpful so that I could put my gremlins away. Spacious and good breakfast. Room was clean and spacious as well. And all clean and in good condition.

Staff was nice. Having a separate living vs sleeping room was great, as was the full kitchen. And giving us free water bottles any time we wanted was a very nice touch in such a hot and humid area.

Hotel looks nice from outside and in lobby. Furniture in room dated. No outlets to charge stuff by beds. Mattress not comfortable. Headboard uncomfortable. No one answered the phone when I tried to call for more pillows. The A/C in room very loud. Room was clean, nice kitchen. Convenient off highway. Regards. Ned.

issues with signing in for reservation and once got in found bath sink cloggled and no one to fix it around 6pm. someone tried to move us but didnt like it so went back to the bad sink room.

Needs an update. Felt like a motel. Hard beds, old decor, rusted bathroom, ceiling fan (tells you how dated it is) that makes an incessant squeaking sound. Breakfast was ok for a hotel and the front desk staff was great. Note that it is a smoking hotel and Expedia will book you smoking - no smoking wasn’t guaranteed but the front desk staff switched us because we had young kids with us.

The mattresses are raggedy and the brand’s idea of a comforter is a mattress pad over the sheets. Rug had holes in it. Air con rattled. On the plus side the shower was nice.

This property fools you when you walk in, lobby and breakfast area are nice. That’s where the good ends. The rooms are so dated, furniture is thread bare, mattresses are old and uncomfortable, remote for TV didn’t work, closed the drapes and found someone’s underwear left there. I could go on but over all it was the worst property we ever stayed in. Liked Homewood Suites before but Hilton has a problem with this one.

INDOOR POOL WAS DRAINED, however there was no indication of this on the description when we booked- had we known we would not have booked this hotel. We chose non-smoking suite upon booking but ended up with a smoking room/floor. Dusty and dirty. Marijuana smell throughout our hallway. Beetles in bathroom. Do not recommend.

The hotel is beautiful. It would be lovely place to be snowed in! There is a large sitting area with a fireplace in the lobby. The continental breakfast was set up like a high end restaurant. The staff were so helpful and professional including housekeeping and the lady in charge of breakfast. The room had a kitchen and large bathroom. All around the hotel is so nice, i wish i could have stayed longer.
