Very unfriendly and unprofessional as far as being communicative and hard to work with over 3rd party complications Staff n financial tactics

The front desk staff was wonderful. Everything was clean and well maintained. Happy hour had food and non alcholic drunks, nice perk. Met some really nice other guests. Pool clean, free wahers/dryers. Rooms full kitchens and well stocked for cooking. Excellent stay. Close to airport but don't hear the planes.

Took too long to check in on Friday night, there should have been more than one person checking in guests on a busy weekend. Staff was lacking throughout our stay. I did not see one housekeeper the entire weekend. Our room was adequate, but there was black mold around the shower, products on the wall were half empty, a dog toy under the bed (which indicates a lack of attention to vacuuming), and most of the USB outlets did not work. I booked two rooms, one of which had a strong urine smell and very dirty towels. There was a lack of seating Saturday morning at breakfast, and the food was not very good. Plastic looking omelets, dried out sausage, fruit salad that did not look fresh, flimsy plastic utensils. The bagels were the only thing that was decent. All this for a premium price. The location was convenient, that was about it. My husband and I (and our friends) are frequent travelers, I do not think we would stay here again.

Very nice hotel. I wasn't planning to spend the night in Charlottesville, but due to flights, had to. Got the last room. Everything and all the staff were wonderful. I would stay there again.

Love the separate room from the living space. The kitchen was nice to have so we could enjoy dinner we bought at the grocery store. Beautiful area. Staff was great. Breakfast was good. The pool area was great also. The tub didn’t drain well.

We were rebooked here due to the previous location overselling. It worked great for us because the location and rooms were better...but the staff was the best part. Not only did reception help us with an early check-in even though the place was full from the night before, but the gentleman (I forgot his name, works only weekends mostly, grey hair, maybe British accent) at the front desk was kind, chatty, engaged...all the things. Very pleasant experience!

The whole experience was fantastic, starting with the exceptional service and welcome from Mr. Alston at the front desk. Having traveled to a different city the week before, we found this location to be especially clean and quiet, and the breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The only 👎 was that many of the dishes in the cupboard were not adequately clean. Eventually figured out that the dishwasher was not doing a complete job. Handwashing worked fine. Close to Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Target - so getting supplies was straightforward.

Breakfast was excellent. Rooms need more cleaning. We had a party of 4 but we were only given towels for 3. We asked for the room to be cleaned and they only changed the 2 beds nothing else. No vacuum, no bathroom cleaning etc…. The pool and outside area were nice

So glad we chose this hotel for a weekend in Charlottesville for a concert. The hotel was clean and quiet. The room was perfect. We enjoyed the free breakfast and space outside. The entire staff was so friendly. Would absolutely stay here again.

The property appears new, safe, and gives a home feeling. Highly recommended for extended stays.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms were mostly quiet during our 6 day stay. The only issue we had was running out of supplies like TP and hand soap and having to go down to the front desk after asking once and it was apparently forgotten

The bed was so very comfortable. When traveling it is wonderful to sleep on a dreamy bed.

Proximity to attractions

The elevator phone was going off the entire time I was there and another guest informed me it was going off for 3 days prior. On the 4th floor there was garbage in the corner of the elevator lobby and the pile got bigger every day. The call button for the elevator was falling off the wall.

The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was average. I was there for over a week and could not do laundry because all the machines were broken and were not going to be fixed/replaced until April.

Loved everything! Location was great for the airport. Breakfast had a lot of options, including fresh fruit. The shower was adjustable for whatever pressure you wanted. The room was huge and insanely comfortable. Couldn't hear any of the other guests from inside the room. The staff was very kind and discreet when I needed feminine products unexpectedly. The staff took time to talk to me amd treated me well. The room had a beeping in the kitchen. I thought it was the microwave so I unplugged it. When I checked out, I told the front desk about unplugging the microwave and they told me it was probably the dishwasher and how to make it stop. I didn't hear it when I shut the connecting door so I ignored it until checkout but I could have easily fixed it had I spoken up sooner.

Although we didn’t ask for our room to be cleaned daily, I did expect fresh towels and wash cloths to be brought. No one even told us when to set our trash out for pick up.

Due to a nationwide weather problem, my flight was delayed by one day. When I attempted to contact the hotel and instruct them to hold my reservation, I ran into a frustrating problem. On the Staybridge Suite webpage, the only phone number listed directs to Reservations.com. I didn't use Reservations.com, and therefore they could not help me. They said I needed to contact the hotel directly. BUT there is no local phone number on their webpage. It took some internet searching and about 20 minutes to get a local number, and then the hotel was GREAT! They took care of my reservation without a problem. The room was great, albeit that there seriously need additional water pressure on the 3rd floor. The staff was helpful and outgoing.

The shower had long brownish hairs on the floor and some on the shower walls. The shower didn’t have any body soap or shampoo in it. That was discovered after I was in the shower. Not fun. My partner went to the front desk and they gave some shampoo and body soap to them.

The hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff members were very kind and efficient from checking in and out. We took a shuttle bus from the airport. This is the only complain that I have for this stay. It should be the direct phone number to reach this hotel instead of going through the Intercontinental group number. It was not smooth to get to the hotel shuttle service.

One of the best hotels that I've been too. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was exceptional well, better than the photos. Shopping centers and airport are so close that you could walk to either one.

The hotel was conveniently located. The staff was friendly. The room was well layed out and equipped. The breakfast had many choices and was well done. My only complaint is more of a concern. During the week the breakfast utilized hard plates and utensils but on the weekends they put out paper and plastic , such a shame to think of all the waste and landfill, just doesn't seem right.

We had a very comfortable King suite with separate sitting room,tv & kitchen with full size fridge with ice maker, stove, microwave, coffee maker & fully stocked utensils, plates, cookware. Full breakfast each day & an evening kickback with complimentary appetizers Mon-Fri. Wonderful outdoor patio with plenty of tables/chairs, fire pit & 2 Weber gas grills. It is like a home away from home. Very quiet & well maintained. We will stay here for each visit going forward & look into Staybridge in other cities/states during our travels

Excellent hotel to stay near C-ville, but not directly in it. Instead it is directly next to the Airpot; but we never heard planes while here. The breakfast was good and the mini kitchen very handy. If I return to the area, I will happily stay again!

This is our favorite hotel to stay for just a weekend getaway. It’s always clean, the front desk is always welcoming in depending on when you come in they have an afternoon social. The breakfast is always been really well put together with a ton of choices.

Overall average stay. This is not the cleanest or newest hotel. They had dove hand soap by the sink. Small living room in the suite. A light evening snack is served three days a week (Monday-Wednesday only)! The food was a good surprise but still had to find dinner somewhere. This is a nicer quiet location - near newer home builds and shopping. Would not recommend the pool - very small and cloudy.

Quiet hotel with nice staff. The cleanliness is what I have a complaint about. Our room had bread crumbs all over one of the barstools and my blanket smelled like urine. The pool is cloudy and green with algae - my son is a lifeguard and said it's atrociously dirty. Fingerprints all over the elevators and one of the elevators was broken.

The water pressure was horrific in the shower. Staff/housekeeping communication lacking. Time for furniture upgrade-rip in couch, old pillows.Good breakfast options. Seems like a safe area

Reception clerk was very helpful and considerate. Maintenance man Robert who doubles as a shuttle driver was excellent; very customer friendly.

Honestly though, the very best part of my stay materialized in a young woman named Nanya. My phone died one morning and she stuck with working on a solution until she fixed it! Above and beyond, all the while being perfectly pleasant and kind. This is my new favorite travel hotel. Alison S.

It was a great stay! Great location! The room and breakfast was great. The only issue was the sheet in the bag of extra linen was dirty. We didn’t recognize it until my wife was covered up on the couch.

First the mattress in the bedroom was completely sagging. Second the sofa in the room smelled like Dog. Third they only serve pork/ham for breakfast. What happens to us who don’t consume pork or ham. We are not important?

Comfortable, clean place

There were six of us in our party (3 moms and 3 daughters). We booked a room that said it sleeps 6 (2 queens and a pullout sofa). Upon arrival we found two queens and a regular sofa.we informed the front desk and they simply told us all hits have pullouts. We went back and checked again, taking the cushions off and there was no pullout. My daughter ended up sleeping on the floor. Needless to say, we were disappointed customers.

We stayed in a king studio. It fit our family of 3 perfectly. It was clean. The pool and exercise rooms were great. The breakfast fueled us for our days. They even has complimentary laundry facilities. We will stay there again!

Great hotel if you have an overnight in Charlottesville. It’s close to the airport and offers shuttle service and free breakfast.

Normally I would write a better overall review but we literally checked in went to sleep then got up at 4 AM to drive to airport. Room was spacious and clean. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable.

Was impressed by the size of my room and cleanliness of everything. Breakfast was great but seemed to be on a 2 day variety schedule. But to have housekeeping try to enter my room while “do not disturb” signs were posted on the door ruined my security during my stay. What would have happened if I wasn’t in my room and left valuables or cash out or left my pet in the room while going sightseeing? If I travel to Charlottesville again I would stay at a different hotel due to this last experience.

Housekeeping may enter your room whenever you aren’t in the room. I specifically stated I did not need or want housekeeping as I have a pet with me. I was advised by different front desk members housekeeping is “only available upon request.” 2 times in less than a week I had a knock on the door and if I wouldn’t have answered housekeeping was going to enter my room. They would knock a 2nd time and announce themselves and would start to open the door. They stopped when I advised I didn’t need housekeeping or asked what are they doing. Having a pet this is concerning. Once the housekeeping situation entering rooms, when they aren’t supposed to, gets resolved I would raise my star level to a 5. It’s unfortunate as every other aspect of my stay was great.

The evening desk attendant did not greet me and told me to “hang on a min” while she finished something else (hence the 5min wait) and the morning attendant was not much better- we had to ask if breakfast was included, which was nice but there were egg/omelette toppings, but no eggs…? The shampoo and conditioner contents were switched and the lighting was muted making getting ready difficult.

Charged me 5 times as much for incidental’s than when I first checked in this stay. Front desk stated housekeeping will only enter your room if requested. That is exactly what I wanted having a pet in my room. Around 11am on a Thursday, while watching TV, I heard a knock on my door. Surprised, I didn’t say anything. After the 2nd knock the person stated “house keeping” and started to open the door. Having a pet it was really concerning knowing even thou I was assured no one would enter the room that that was not the case.

Increased the hold amount with no prior notice. Very disappointed.

Room was clean and condo. We were able to get in a little early but ended up having to switch rooms due to a crying pet. Moved to a nicer room and enjoyed our stay!

We have stayed here several times and it’s our first choice when staying in the area! Amazingly nice staff and has a very home-like environment!!

The Staybridge Suites in Charlottesville is a great place to stay, very convenient for all activities around Cville. Room was very comfortable and a very safe place to stay while visiting Charlottesville.

Rooms are great and updated. Really clean hotel. Breakfast service and selections need to improve. Numerous days had no knives or drinks (apple juice/orange juice) Not everyone drinks coffee or wants soda/water with breakfast. Management should hire more people or atleast have the bare minimums available to guests.

We loved the layout of the room and the service from the staff. Our room had tons of dog hair everywhere in the room. The night stand drawer was not clean from previous tenant as there was garbage still in there. There dust/dirt in the bathroom as if someone used sand paper on the wall. Overall the dog hair all throughout the room was the biggest issue as we have kids sensitivity to dog hair

Great overall stay. Only complaints would be with other guests, allowing kids to run down hallways continuously. And also lazy guests using carts to take items to rooms and than just leaving carts outside their rooms after using them. I don’t fault the staff as they aren’t supposed to roam the hallways every half hour searching for lazy guests carts. I assume they are the who same people who don’t return shopping carts at grocery stores. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Onsite laundry for guests! Overall great stay and highly recommended!

My family of 5 stayed in a suite with a kitchenette. It was a spacious room, but we were a little disappointed by the cleanliness of it. In the kitchen, there were splatters on the glass faces of the cabinets and on the front of the cabinets. The stainless fridge was streaked and the rolling office chair had what seemed to be food stains on the back of it. There were splatters on the walls and I found a pair of someone else’s eyeglasses underneath the headboard of our bed laying on top of the boxspring. Overall, did not feel clean enough for us as we were traveling with a baby who is learning to crawl. We used the free laundry facilities only to discover after starting 3 separate loads that the majority of the washers did not adequately spin the water out of the clothes; they were so wet, they left water puddles on the floor when I transferred them to the dryer. The dryers work in small increments of time, not enough to dry the clothes, so you have to stay in the laundry room and constantly reset the dryers. It took me 2 hours to finish my clothes because of the malfunctioning washers (too wet) and time setting for the dryers. And some of the dryers barely got hot enough to dry the clothes. On our last night there, we were evacuated due to a gas leak from the laundry room. I overheard front desk person saying “that was supposed to have been fixed.” Everyone working at the hotel was very nice and professional and we appreciated that. Breakfast was hot and provided a variety.

Beds were very comfortable which is a priority for me. The room could have been a little cleaner but overall was okay. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. Kudos to your lovely employees!

We are fairly well traveled, but this was, by far, one of the absolute worst experiences we have had with a hotel. The first room we were given was filthy, so we were switched to a second room, which was also disgusting. The third room wasn’t much better, so we had to leave and find other accommodations elsewhere. There was hair, body fluids, and items left from previous guests. There was dust that had accumulated over a period of time, based on the thickness. Further, my husband and children went down to view the pool and there was brown slush around the edges of it, debris at the bottom, and the pool chairs had some unknown substance on them. The manager was supposed to call us, but we haven’t heard from her yet. We were extremely surprised by this experience given that they are in the IHG family. There are better options in the area. Steer clear of this place until they’ve had sufficient time to, hopefully, address the issues with property maintenance and management.

Pool could have been heated a little more.
