Loved the Mecklen. I consider myself a bit of a hotel snob, and I could not have been happier with my stay. It was clean, the staff was extremely helpful, great location, and the decor of the hotel is a huge added plus that makes it feel very homey!

Great hotel will definitely return. One recommendation to satisfy more guests and SAVE HOTEL MONEY, the decoration grates in front of the air unit greatly reduces the flow of air to go into the room so it does not ever reach a cold desired temperature. If these were removed or modified to have better spacing the air would flow freely and trigger the temperature setting to actually save money by shutting off during the auto setting. During our two day stay the unit never shut off and temperature would not remain cool in the room and checking the unit this was the cause. Again, minor inconvenience but potential for huge cost savings for the hotel.

Very clean and the decor was impeccably styled. Not far from Charlotte Motor Speedway as a race week option.

This is a fabulous hotel with a stellar staff. The boutique style and feel is amazing! From the time I walked in the front door, I know I was going to be well taken care of. A must stay in Charlotte.

Nicely decorated, clean, very friendly staff. I stayed for my 32nd birthday. I plan to stay again in the next few months. I have nothing bad to say besides the view wasn’t the best but once you’re inside it doesn’t matter.

Check in and out staff were all great. Very friendly and upbeat. The room was nice with beautiful decor and comfortable bedding. All linens were clean and plush. In a great area with close food and short drive to uptown. Ample parking. Will stay here again. Such a nit-pick but I wish there was a space in the shower to put my own toiletries instead of the floor. Great hotel!

The staff was great!. The room was stuffy and didn’t smell clean. There was a dog on our floor barking a little one night. A family member selected this property. I wouldn’t have selected a location that was pet friendly.

although they were doing a renovation, the hotel and the staff is great!
- 1/5
The entire hotel is under construction. The name is not even Holiday Inn. The bar and restaurant is closed for renovation. Saw dust in my room. Lobby completely under construction the floor was torn up. No microwave in room.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff and a comfortable bed, highly recommended!
- 3/5
On a positive note our room was very nice & had a very comfortable bed. Room was very clean but scored low due to the other areas in the building. The lobby honestly was not safe to walk thru with all of the workers, water on floor, & their equipment everywhere.
- 1/5
The hotel was being renovated. No lobby, breakfast, ice, shampoo. Etc. this place should not have been listed. Why was it on your site as a Holiday Inn? We had a hard time even finding it because the old hotel’s name was on it! Check-in was awkward. Heavy equipment all around. Sorry I prepaid or I would have gone elsewhere. No thank you, Hotels.com. Booking directly from now on.
- 1/5
We were given a newly renovated room however we had booked a king suite and was given a queen. We understand properties need to be renovated however we weren’t told about the renovation until 45 minutes before we were about to arrive on the day of our arrival. We would have liked to have been given the opportunity to decide if we wanted to deal with construction. The shower stall needs to have a shelf to hold shampoo/conditioner/ soap instead of having to put things on the floor of the shower. There was no compensation for receiving a queen suite instead of a king suite. Grab an go breakfast?, the breakfast in years past was one of the reasons we wanted to come back to this location
- 1/5
I asked for a refund or to cancel the reservation when we arrived. I was told that was not an option since I booked through a 3rd party website which in my opinion is misleading an easy way to hook customers in to booking a reservation. We were in town for a concert, and I assured my wife that I found a hotel close to the venue that served breakfast. I looked like a fool! We also had to share the hotel with work crews, and tiles were being removed in front of the main entrance which was a hazard for the kiddos. I will more than likely skip Holiday Inn and hotels.com next time.
- 1/5
The Hotel was under reconstruction with no bottled water and no ice. Additionally, the sink would not drain and the HVAC stopped working around 3am. We left at 5am
- 2/5
Will not stay there ever again. This was my second stay at this hotel since 09/2024. Hotel should have been closed while lobby and other renovations were completed as the room did not feel ready for guests. It was clear that the room had been renovated, however several issues occurred: 1- hotel charged my bank card, but then told me the charge failed on their end. Had to use a different card. This charge still remains on my card after almost 24 hours and I must call my bank to fix the issue. Had time allowed, I would have cancelled my booking and left then to stay across the street at the Hilton. Hotel staff were not helpful in trying to figure out the issue. The charge should not have “failed” as they said it did, as the funds to pay for the room were there. 2- Booked room for two adults and one child. There was one wash cloth in the bathroom and no trash can in the bathroom. No shelves inside the shower for soaps, etc. Asked desk clerk for 3 more wash cloths so we would have one extra. We were given only 2 additional wash cloths. 3- No coffee maker in room or lobby due to renovations. We checked out much earlier than we otherwise would have because we couldn’t get any coffee there. 4- No apologies or statements from hotel staff upon arrival about the construction and no mention of the coffee situation. During our first stay in September 2024, hotel staff were very nice and explained the construction. This was not our experience this time. Stay at the Hilton instead!

The room was very nice, the staff was helpful

Best stay I had in a long time. The staff was very professional and friendly . The room was excellent
- 2/5
They are remodeling wasnt told this when we booked so restaurant was also closed. The first hour are more after we checked in their wasnt any running water throughout hotel. Had to call for fresh towles ans was clothes because when they cleaned room did not leave enough this happned twice
- 1/5
The hotel was undergoing renovations and had we been made aware, we would have stayed somewhere else. This was covered up by either hotels.Connor the property and a either a full or partial refund should be awarded in this case
- 2/5
The hotel was under renovation. We had to enter through a service door. The water kept getting turned off. The room was mew and very nice but we had to change rooms when the toilet didn't work. Staff was friendly and apologized for the construction. It would have been nice to know before i booked.
- 3/5
The property was under renovation...which was not disclosed and was inconvenient and water outages. Staff was nice and rooms were good.
- 3/5
With debris that felt very unsafe. Our room had been remodeled nicely. Parking lot was also closed off in part due To Construction
- 3/5
Is in contraction room service not goods
- 5/5
Very clean
- 3/5
Remodeling was occurring while our vist and prior to booking it didn’t mention they were remodeling. I think future reference should let customers know if they have ongoing remodeling and only certain accommodations are available.
- 2.5/5
The construction felt unsafe on the elevators and all surrounding parts of the hotel

- 3/5
It was under renovation, much needed.
- 0.5/5
One staff member was deceptive, the place is under a massive renovation so be prepared, I step on a screw barefooted in the room so be warned and know the hotel is nothing like others in the chain.

Construction
- 2.5/5
Location Under construction. Not sure about it being as clean as it should be.
- 4/5
What i enjoyed was the new updated rooms! My only complaint is the noisy guest or house keepers that were slamming the doors early in the morning till the evening.
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction. No bar, pool or gym was available. Was not informed before arrival. Only one floor open. When leaving and arrivel white debris would get on cars, luggage and clothes from construction. Staff was nice but if i had known it was under construction, i would have stayed somewhere else. Semi tralier were stored all over parking lot. The hotel looked abandoned when driving up. This was not the experience I hoped for and i feel was robbed of the experience i payed for to have these amenities. There was many hotels in the area to choose from. I will not pick Holiday Inn again.
- 1/5
I was never made aware of any of these issues. We were told we could cancel (which we did) but ended up scrambling to find somewhere to stay that night. We ended up 20 minutes further than we wanted to be Very disappointed
- 1.5/5
Parking was right out front Everything about it and it was under construction also I wasn’t able to eat the breakfast because apparently the cost of the room dosent include the breakfast
- 2.5/5
Booked a queen and got 2 doubles.
- 5/5
Renovation..no pool.no restauarant
- 5/5
The hotel is under renovation, so my neutral responses were because of that. The night staff is amazing and attentive.
- 5/5
Staff at check in was awesome. Great attitude friendly and helpful. She made checking in the best experience we’ve ever had. Beautiful, clean rooms with comfort. Fully stocked bathroom essentials. Best experience with great relaxatng sleep.
- 5/5
Quick check in and out
- 4/5
Alyyssa was fabulous. Very bubbly and energetic, she made an extra effort to ensure my stay was protected because my method of payment was third party and the credit card on file was expired. She called me while I was at the airport and requested updated information. I stopped by the hotel once I got my rental and secured the stay. I believe she went above and beyond to ensure my stay was properly secured. Breakfast could have been included in stay, most Holiday Inn have free breakfast. I primarily booked for free breakfast option.
- 3/5
being renovated, buffet; free is good as guest, but not worth $$
- 1/5
The property is under construction for the appearance of what was advertised on your web site. There was construction and trailers all over, advertised room service but all the amenities come with the new cinstruction not what it actually is right now. The room i reserved was not readyat che k in time and i would have to wait an additional hour. I had to make a deposit. I would bot have stayed at this hotel if i knew this information. There were anenities i was looking for and stated it had and room check in was at 4 pm. Onebof tge elevators was used fornothing but constructijn and it showed. This stay was crap. I will never dtay at a holiday in again.
- 3/5
Property is under a major renovation. Will look fabulous but certainly not quite. No hot water at midnight which was disappointing
- 3/5
There is currently renovations going on and we were not informed about that. The noise started at 8 am. One of the elevators looks like it needs to be shut down. Our room had a giant brown stain on the curtains and the bathroom had white water toothpaste looking stains on the wall.
- 0.5/5
The location It is under construction and I was not aware and it’s filthy I had to ask them to come clean the mold out of the bath tub and the air conditioning unit.
- 2/5
The hotel was under renovations, which was not disclosed when booking. The cost of the room was ridiculous with the condition of the hotel. There was no gathering space, the facilities were dirty, & even the breakfast was expensive. At least comp the breakfast due to the inconvenience of the renovations. None of this would be an issue if we had been made aware of the situation.
- 3/5
They was tearing up one side of the building had no access to the pool
- 2/5
The hotel was under construction/renovations, which I was not notified about prior. My room smelt horrible, like it had a previous flood, and hadn’t been used in 6 months. Room was also very outdated. Due to the construction I was not permitted to use the pool. I usually stay at airBnB’s but there was really nothing in the area for one person that had a pool. The reason why I chose the hotel was to use the pool. The hotel staff was nice and provided reimbursement but I would have rather been made aware and stayed at a different hotel.
- 2/5
Booked this hotel specifically because it said they had a shuttle service to PNC. At check in was told they do not have shuttle but gave me the name of a transport company they use and said it would be around $25. Booked with said company and when we got to venue the driver stated it was $25 PER PERSON in cash. Also I was never informed the hotel is under major renovation. Very disappointed
- 1.5/5
Nothing Nothing
- 5/5
The hotel is going through a renovation. I did appreciate the extra effort they made to make sure it wasn’t an inconvenience.
- 3/5
They were going construction and the pool was closed wish we’d known we wouldn’t have stayed there
- 1/5
Dirty place, hidden fees, still waiting for my money to be returned to me and it's been a whole week
- 1/5
I was excited about the pool. It looked great in pictures. Since I was arriving early I called ‘reservations’ as they said I could leave baggage with concierge and use the pool - upon arrival the front desk lady said their pool was closed for the season for renovations. Huge bummer. The whole reason I booked was for the pool. The bar was closed because of renovation. Constant noise and construction inside and outside the building. The sink water is brown. Lights flickered on and off in room. The elevator was shredded to bare bones and was dangerous and a hazard. It was an awful experience from the jump and highly, highly recommended not staying here. Also cesar, the manager on duty was less the helpful or empathetic to the situation.
- 3/5
Didn't know it was under construction
- 5/5
Great stay!!
- 1/5
the hotel was under construction but wasn’t not told to anyone prior to. the room smelled like urine, the shower was rusty and falling apart.
- 4/5
Second time staying & found the staff to be very helpful. The location is nice for traveling through Charlotte.
- 3/5
The hotel is decent and average.
- 5/5
Had a great stay would definitely book here again.
- 5/5
Great location. Clean, and the breakfast was spectacular!
- 2/5
Obviously renovating. But should make a better effort in hiding it. Tub drain was clogged, no way to block the light from the parking lot coming in. Air conditioning was not working properly.
- 3/5
Elevator on the third floor was out during the critical time. Had to go walk down three flight of stairs. I feel uncomfortable entering the elevator when a construction worker entered from the opposite side into the elevator. Was just two of us on the elevator at that time. It was not a comfortable feeling.
- 2/5
My husband and I and our 2 yr old stayed here. I had to clean the bathtub as well as wipe down furniture with wipes. The wipes were black after. We paid for breakfast that was cold and tasteless, that was disappointing being we had our child with us. We did not eat there after the first day. Staff were friendly thankfully. Renovations during early morning hours woke us and our sleeping child. The carpet was filthy leaving the bottom of our feet dirty.
- 3/5
It was OK, the shower did not work properly and there were bad smells in the room.
- 5/5
Nice and clean - enjoyed my stay
- 3/5
Pool is small.. didnt know there was construction on diningroom and bar area so no access to it.
- 3/5
Standard room. I guess I expected a bit more from Holidays Inn. Only 1 thread mill in the fitness room works, with rest of the machines broke
- 5/5
It was great hospitality
- 3/5
It was under construction, oddly breakfast was an extra charge too.
- 5/5
Great staff!
- 2/5
Staff was excellent. Bed made me itchy so I had to lay towels down over the comforter to not be uncomfortable.
- 5/5
They are clean and at your service when needed.
- 2/5
Lamp table lights and outlets not working and it’s nasty behind the table when looking for an outlet the tub drain is broken and have to ask for toilet papers
- 5/5
My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights and overall it was a great stay. Very clean, staff beyond courteous, breakfast items were good. The only issue I saw was the lock on our room door wouldnt lock all the way. We tried pushing and pulling but the lock still wouldn’t go all the way in the hole. But we made it work. I brought portable stand in lock from home (I’m paranoid and bring it to every hotel). But I still felt safe. I would come back
- 4/5
Great location
- 4/5
Very central to restaurants and shopping.
- 1/5
Honestly speaking you stay at a Motel 6 and recieve better service than provided at this location wake up early in the morning due to drilling noise as they currently doing construction pay for breakfast can’t eat it don’t cater to people don’t consume pork eggs poorly cooked still had liquid running in it hotel tells you they will clean on 3rd day of hotel stay however they never clean the room throughout my entire 5 day stay complaint to manager Sean Baba who said he would follow up never heard from him worst hotel stay ever wouldn’t recommend any stay at this location
- 5/5
Every thing was good. Will come back!

The location and cleanliness
- 3/5
Staff was great. There was a weird smell coming form the AC unit whenever the fan turned on. It was noisy as I could hear guests in the adjacent room and the remodel construction started early and was very loud.
- 1/5
1. The hotel is very old. 2. We were given assisted room whicb we did not request and we had no mention of it while checking in. 3. The lifts were full of dust. 4.
- 4/5
Very nice stay, clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great location which made it easy to commute as needed. Plenty of shopping and food nearby. Hotel is going under some renovations, but nothing so big as to make our stay uncomfortable.

- 2/5
The building was under construction and outdated
- 1/5
When we entered the room, there was a foul smell. I requested to switch rooms, but the problem persisted. We ultimately had to look for another hotel due to the odor. Fortunately, the staff member refunded our stay. Additionally, I was surprised to find out about a $100 deposit that I hadn't been informed of prior to our arrival. Overall, it was a frustrating and inconvenient experience.

Easy access to interstate and all venues that we were there for. Will stay there again. Place was clean and secure with friendly staff.
- 4/5
I appreciated the friendliness of the staff.
- 4/5
That said, the staff was nice and helpful and I had no issues with them.
- 5/5
Very clean, easy to get to and from airport. Staff very professional and friendly.
- 4/5
Quick visit but staff was great
- 3/5
I was in a toom next to construction. I had a big black tool box blocking half of the entry way to my room. I just recently had knee surgery and had to maneuver around it. We were awoken at 8 by the souds of loud voices and construction noises. After coming back from a concert at 1am. It was not a pleasant sound!
- 4/5
Stayed for a concert. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
This Holiday Inn was conveniently located and easy to get to. The fellow at the front desk, Cesar, was extremely pleasant and professional and accommodating. The beds were out-of-this-world comfortable, the room was quiet, HVAC functioned well, everything nice and clean. My only criticism of the room was that the furniture was getting a little shabby and would be a good candidate for an upgrade. On a side note, there was a heavy growth of poison ivy near the parking lot, but it's unclear if it's on the hotel's property or the neighbor's.
- 5/5
Breakfast is delicious
- 3/5
My room was really dusty. The outside of my door my dusty as well
- 5/5
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. It is very close to the PNC venue. The room was clean and comfortable.
