SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte at Carowinds

The pool was closed when we arrived. 95 degree day in the summer so the pool was one reason we chose this hotel. Also the breakfast had limited options. Sunday morning and they were out of white milk and fruit. Only protein options are eggs and bacon.

Great hotel. Walking distance to carowinds- they have a walking path! The pool is small but nice. We enjoyed our stay

The hotel was convenient for walking to Carowinds Amusement Park. The room was spacious and clean. Complimentary breakfast was very good.

We would stay here again. I loved the room set up with the lavatory separate from the shower. Breakfast was good with a lot of options. Pool was clean and staff refilled pool towels promptly when informed they were all gone. Outdoor couch around fire pit was a bit weathered and worn, but we didn’t use that area. Staff was very helpful and courteous during our stay. Quiet and serene location within walking distance to Carowinds.

Very clean and spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff, breakfast was very good every morning. We loved the fact that our was a 10 min walk to carowinds so we didn't have to drive. The breakfast had different hot choices every morning which was a nice change. The only things we didn't like was the fact there wasn't a safe and a laundry line in the shower to hang our swimsuits after swimming in the pool. But those are small things compared to the rest. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Great place for my family to stay right there at the park. I’m really funny about rooms being clean. This was very clean. Very updated. Very nice.

The shelf that the fridge and microwave were on had a strong odd smell. Breakfast was almost identical every day. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom layout was nice.

The location was great. We also appreciated the quick check-in and check-out process. We did not have enough clean bath towels for everyone and had to wash them on the day I checked in.

The first room we checked into had the worst bed I've ever slept on in a hotel. I went to the front desk in the morning and requested a new room and was promised another room with a king bed like the room I booked originally. When I came back to the desk to get my new room, they said sorry we only have room rooms with two double beds because you booked through Expedia. I don't blame the staff however don't sell rooms to Expedia if you can't back it up. The room with two queen beds had crappy beds too.

There was mold in our bathroom and on of the towels had long black hair knotted up in it.

The room was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. My kids were a little disappointed that the pool wasn’t open, but we enjoyed everything else about our stay.

Requested maid service, the maid came two days after we arrived and only cleaned the bathrooms but didn’t stock the bathrooms or make the bed. The next day she only made the bed but didn’t clean the bathrooms. Had to go to the front desk to get soap and toilet paper. Breakfast food is very average the help in dining area was very friendly and helpful.

Great location in regards to Carowinds though. I was able to walk back mid day to take a break, then head back with no issues. There's not really any food that's close enough to walk to though. The nearest restaurants are only a mile or so away but there's no sidewalks to get there. Overall price and proximity to the park was great and I would stay here again.

The room was very clean and smelled fresh. The suite was great and accommodating. Breakfast was decent.

Breakfast was good. Parking was easy. Location was walkable distance to Carowinds. My initial room kept making noises all night and morning from the pipes but they put us in a different room the next evening with no noises after bringing up the issue.

The staff was very friendly, the hotel was immaculate, the room was a good size, but I don’t like that the toilet area is separate from the shower area. I also love that you can walk from the hotel to Carowinds but it would be nice if they had a shuttle because after walking the park all day it would have been nice!

Everyone was super nice and room was excellent I’m handicap. The handicap parking is close to the courtyard but it is almost impossible to get through the gates through the courtyard through 2 heavy doors with luggage on a cane. Therefore not handicapped friendly. And my shower had no grab bars. I thought it was standard, but I assumed. I have asked on check in the last 2 Marriott’s this week on travels

The room was so nice and clean. The lobby was nice too! A great bar area and plenty of seating. The breakfast was wonderful and check in/check out was a breeze. We had a great view of Carowinds from our window, which we all loved! As far as amenities, there was a small business area with a computer and printer, conference room, exercise room, and a nice pool (closed during our visit but probably very nice in the summer time). Additionally, there was a small “store” next to the front desk with food and drinks for purchase.. While we didn’t use these areas during our short stay, they were appreciated. I will absolutely be back on our next trip to Carowinds! Everything was great. I really don’t think there was anything I would change.

The hotel was excellent. We arrived early to go in the amusement park and the desk clerk gave us a free parking pass for the park. That was a nice surprise. The hotel is within walking distance to Carowinds and we loved that. We left mid day and came back to check in then walked back to the park. It’s a very safe area and the hotel was super clean. Breakfast was also hit and delicious with many options to choose from. Grits would have been another nice option as well. Nice little “store” inside with chips, cookies and drinks. Desk clerks were very informative and professional with no playing around or saying ugly words as we’ve heard in the past with some. I’d definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here, and Pauline went above and beyond every time for us. We drove 15 hours to get there and she got us in our room a little early. All the staff was helpful and super kind, but Paulina was extra special to us, and she is DEF an asset to your establishment!!!!

The tub had some kind of stain, some washed away, not sure if it was hair dye from a previous guest? The doors to the shower and toilet are translucent and the shower room door did not close fully. Breakfast was included with plenty of choices. Did not use the pool, but it looks well maintained. Gated parking was also included. Friendly staff. Exercise room was larger than most & well maintained.

Did not like the water closet seperate from full bath. There wasn't a tub. Traveled with a child. Only an outdoor pool. Was very small for the size of hotel. Have stayed at properties with indoor and outdoor pools. Expected the same. I asked at front desk to have the sofa bed made up. They told me linens were in the closet and I could do it myself.

My son and I had a great time. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to walk to the Carowinds Park and Ride some roller coasters. The people at the front desk and all the staff are amazing. Super friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very quiet and very clean. I will say that the room condition was not that great. There were water stains in the ceiling in the bathroom as well as some mold. The shower spigot was loose and pulled away from the wall. The bathroom door did not close in latch properly neither did the shower door. It did seem like the bathrooms needed a little bit of love but it was not cleanliness, it was more of Maintenance upkeep issues.

My granddaughter and I have a “Best Buddies “ trip each year. This year we decided on Carowinds and SpringHill Suites. We were not disappointed! Our room was great! Plenty of space and practical use of space. We love the separate toilet and shower. We will definitely stay with SpringHill again!!

Was there with my family the boys and I were there to go to a concert so my wife and daughter stayed there and I didn’t worry one bit the cars are in a gated area so it felt very safe there are plenty to do in the area Carowinds is just a short walk and restaurants and shops are very close we all had a blast will stay again

Staff was friendly, breakfast was delish, room was mainly good. As we walked up to our room there was trash on the floor right outside our door. There was some moldy spots in the shower and on the ceiling. The shower leaked on the floor and made a slippery mess. One day we returned and the carpet just outside of the shower room was soaked, and it never dried out. I don't think that was from our showers either bc the water from those was on the other side of the room.

The wallpaper was peeling off the walls in our room, they did not come to take the trash or give us new towels until we finally asked on day 3. The food was the same thing, and cold and overcooked. We would go out and get breakfast and pay to avoid eating the food. I would not recommend or go back to this hotel.

The waffles at breakfast were AMAZING!! The sidewalk that took us straight to Carowinds was awesome. We were only 20 minutes away from SouthPark Mall. Everyone here was so friendly. I liked the layout of the room (with 2 separate sinks). Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Carowinds.

I'd imagine the only reason for anyone staying here is visiting carowinds. For this it is ideal. Nice large room. Free parking and a 5 minute clearly marked walk to the entrance. Enjoyed a drink on the terrace before heading to bed. Only downside was the sub par breakfast which was very limited. Would stay again.

This was an in and out overnight type of trip. Wasn’t anticipating anything amazing, but this hotel made the trip nice. The biggest surprise was having drinks with a friend in the outside seated area. The room was nice but had an odd layout with the toilet and shower in two different areas. Overall, it was fine and would probably stay there again.

Cons: plumbing issues (both tub and sinks did not drain quickly, tub would have huge puddle), did not know that the policy was to request housekeeping and if that is the standard, then it needs to be stated during the booking process. When we did ask for housekeeping, only our trash was taken out and towels replaced, however beds were not made/linens changed. The toilet and the tub are in separate rooms, both that have a frosted glass sliding door. However, when you turn the light on, it illuminates the entire room. So, if you need your room completely dark while sleeping, that won’t happen if you are staying with someone who needs to use the restroom in the middle of the night.

I loved staying here and the property is beautiful. My 9 year old son said they should serve lunch though 😂. We loved how nice and caring the staff were when we reported an incident with one of the ducks on the pond. Thank you

Good continental breakfast. Beds were average in comfortability. Shower was good. Rooms were very clean and nicely sized

10/10- on customer service and check in was easy. The rooms are a wonderful layout for families-we would totally stay here again!! The beds and pillows were also cozy.

The property was worth the money. They had daily breakfast which was delicious, staff was kind, friendly and efficient. The room was very clean. Fitness room and fire pit were nice additions. There's also a computer you can use in the lobby. I will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place, large room, very clean and wonderful staff. Made a reservation to stay here for our return trip home.

We were only there for one night. The room was spacious, very clean, and very quiet. The breakfast had a nice selection and everything was fresh. I would definitely stay there again.

Overall a great experience. The bartender was fabulous and kind. The initial reception at the desk was cold almost unfriendly.

Clean, has a bar and a pool

Great property. It’s secluded so you have to drive to restaurants or enjoy a longer walk. In season, it’s. wry close to a massive roller coaster park. Easy access (2minute) to IS77. Just a note for maintenance. Check out the ceiling in 209. May have been a minor leak above. And the tub spout is loose. The bar staff was a lovely young lady. Front desk folks were great too.

When I called the friend desk about it they told me there’s nothing they can do and provided no assistance.

Breakfast was same every day. No bacon, no waffles, no scrambled eggs. Stayed three nights and never got maid service or fresh towels.
