We had help carrying our luggage down the stairs but walking up and down those stairs was very uncomfortable! When the breakfast is fresh such as the cinnamon rolls they were outstanding! Today they were hard and dry!

I would easily give the overall hotel staff a 5-star rating, as most interactions have been wonderful. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant interaction with Emany at the front desk this morning. She was condescending and lacked the hospitality standard shown by the rest of the team. I hope management can address this, as the rest of your staff is fantastic. Leila, front desk clerk was always professional and courteous.

My booking was messed up through After pay. I requested to speak to the manager. I was told at 8:00am she was not there. Asked if she could please call my cell or the room. Checked back again at 9Am was told she was in a meeting. I returned to the front desk 7 times requesting to speak with the manager. After pay said it was a mess up on their end. I was only supposed to be charged $89 for the two nights. Instead I was charged $346. After pay said for me to have my reservation canceled for the night of the 5th. Then they would rebook it for me the right way and I wouldn't be charged that much money. The young girls at the front desk were rude and told me they were not allowed to cancel any reservations. That the manager had to do. I kept going to the front desk all day until 6:30 pm. At that time I was told she had already left for the day. I asked for her this morning before checking out and was told she was not on the property. This was a 10am. Then again at 11am when I was checking out she was still not there. I called to speak with the General Manager Yuri Robledo and was again unable to speak to anyone that could help me. Now my bank account is empty and my $150 deposit is still not on my card. This company and this property is one of the worst I have ever been to for customer service. Your front desk people wear no uniforms. They didn't even have a corporate telephone number for me to call. The one she gave me was no good. Please address this matter and get back to me. My email and phone number: [email protected] 681-426-0146 The front desk staff is rude, not wearing any uniforms, and kept telling me they couldn't cancel a reservation for me. Your manager refused to come speak with me. Claiming she was in meetings all day.

The breakfast was descent. Location just fine. Elevators were out 1/2 the time. Stayed on 1st floor on 1st night. Elevators up at noon next day. Moved up to top floor. Then elevators were briefly down again. It was worrisome whether the on operating elevator would stay functional. It did but shaky, making lots of noises at times. The pool area patio flooded after downpours without draining. This is why the over score and such was a 7 vice 10.

The room was very clean, bed and pillows were amazing! I want to know brand of pillows and where to buy. RJ or AJ who checked us in was very friendly, professional and accommodating. The only issue we came across was the elevators were not working. He did find us a room on first floor. We would stay there again.

Everything would have been excellent about this stay. However, the elevators were down the entire stay. I did not want to walk up and down stairs with my luggage and with heels. There was no compensation given for the inconvenience. If they can guarantee elevators are working would come back.

The elevator did not work the entire time we were there (5 days). After speaking with the elevator repairman, he said that the building was struck by lighting 2 years ago and the elevator has been off and on ever since. They don’t tell the guests that prior to checking in which is absurd. My mother in law could not go up the stairs so we had to switch to a first floor. The first floor room had a horrible chemical smell so they had to move her back to the second floor. I saw many semi disabled people having a very hard time getting up steep stairs and it was orettt sad. Please do not stay here if you need the elevator it probably won’t work !!!

I was very excited that the hotel really catered to the health and wellness of the guests. I was also very impressed with the daily contact the hotel rep gave to make sure everything was going well. The elevator stopped working. My husband needs a heart transplant so walking up 4 flights of stairs was extremely hard for him and def not expected. We even had to carry our luggage down 4 flights of stairs with him not breathing well.

The overall stay was pretty good. Unfortunately, the elevator was broken and we had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs with a toddler. Overall, beds were comfortable.

Fairly quiet hotel when we were there, fridge in room, free/ample parking and a supermarket and pizza place in the parking area which is nice to have. Breakfast was ok and an outdoor area to sit also. Where we had trouble was this - at 8am, with a Do Not Disturb Sign on our door, there was knocking on the door and then a hand was slipping something in to try and unlock the door. It was not fun for us as guests- actually scary. We found out later it was maintenance but trying to get into the wrong room, however, they should have checked with the front desk if a do not disturb sign was up and the room double locked. When we reached out to the manager, they did not call us back. We called again and they said it was their day off and we wondered how they could be that nonchalant about staff trying to break into our room. She did come in and viewed the security tape and realized that maintenance was trying to fix a leak but was at the wrong room. I still don't understand how there isn't protocol in place when there could be people in the room. The mgr apologized but I'm sharing that maintenance was opening our door at the time we were pushing it shut!

If you wanna have drinks after you check in make sure you buy on your way there and for wine lovers Do not Forget your wine opener

We had to ask for toilet paper as new rolls were not left upon our arrival. The breakfast was not very good. The USB chargers were broken in our room. We reported it to the front desk and no one came to address the issue. All of the staff was very nice though. For the price, I really cannot complain. It was a nice clean place to sleep which was the ultimate goal.

The front desk manager who met us on check-in was friendly and helpful! The mattress andpillow, extremely comfortable so much that I want to buy one of your soft pillows. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Loved the cinnamon rolls! Loved the location and closeness of McCalisters to bring food back to room. Maybe an extra blanket ( I didn’t look so one may have been there). A freezer in fridge would be helpful when traveling with meds needing to stay cold. Fridge won’t freeze small ice packs to keep meds cool in traveling the next day.

Great, safe location, clean hotel with a good breakfast. Also liked the orange and lemon water. Our room faced a busy road, so it was noisy at night. The white noise app on my phone helped.

Absolutely the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed. Beautiful rooms, generous sized beds and bathrooms. Gorgeous patio area perfect for snacks and card games. Coffee and tea station well stocked 24/7. Breakfast area was kept spotless by well attentive and friendly cleaning staff. Any hotel upkeep was attended to by fast working maintenance teams. Putting this on our list to stay again. Patio was on the other side of a tree line, which backed up against a noisy freeway but we really did not notice.

Everything. The chaise lounge was unique and very comfortable. The Keurig coffee maker in the room made me smile. The walk in shower, excellent. The breakfast was yummy. That I had to park further away from the hotel than I would have liked.

room was a good size as well as the bathroom. Larger refrigerator was also useful. I was in the Wheelchair accessible room and the bed was so tall. I couldn’t physically get into it so I had to sleep on the couch/lounge.

Stayed for one night on a last‑minute booking and was genuinely impressed. The room was clean, the service was great, and the complimentary breakfast was better than expected. Amazing value for the price.

It was fine for a night traveling through. Room smelled like marijuana unfortunately. Had to go back downstairs for extra bedding for pullout. Could not charge our car as there was a car parked in that space, not charging (I mean that’s not the hotel’s fault but come on). Plenty of restaurants nearby.

The Internet was good didn't really need to use it much. The staff was exceptional 🤓

Stay started off terrible, chose pay at the property to check in on 3/20 -3/22, but was charged 1 night without notice on 3/17. Then upon check in was told to pay a $150 incidental deposit which is an extreme amount at a Holiday Inn and this was not spelled out in any correspondence. I negotiated down to $100 incidental fee. I am not happy with the hidden actions and fees. 3 stars

My length of stay , 2 days. The scent of the property had a fresh and clean smell which I really appreciate. Connecting my electric devices to Wi-Fi was a smooth transition. The room was okay, the shower walls and shelves had left over hair, Im a believer of cleaning the bathroom on any hotel visits. The room phone didn't work which was a disappointment because I wanted to turn off my phone since my stay was for education purposes. I walk down to the front desk( I did attempt to call the hotel from my cellphone but no one picked up)and put in a maintenance request but it was after 5pm and I had to wait until the next day. Next day room phone was still out of service. My husband was at the room while I was in class and requested for maintenance and clean towels. On my return from class 12 noon , I requested for maintenance again and towels. We waited, no maintenance. We had to take a few trips to the front desk, and our room was not close, we were on the 3rd floor on the opposite end of the hotel where the exit stairs is located a distance from the only elevator location to get downstairs. The back and forth walking was a bit much. The breakfast is not worth the wake up to eat.

Lovely hotel at a great price point. Very clean. The deadbolt lock on my room did not work. I asked twice for it to be repaired-to no avail. Because of this I checked out a day early and was refused a credit for the night. Disappointing.

The hotel is well built, very quiet considering proximity to the busy road. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. Nice area in Ballantyne and the gym was easily accessible. Shower head with good water pressure (a sticking point with me) and bathroom spacious. I would like to have a hot tub, otherwise, nothing missing for me.

The heat in my room wasn't working. Had to turn my thermostat up to 85 to feel then heat... Then it was exteremely too hot. I just gave up on it. Had a maintenance man come and it didnt help. One disappointment very poor selection of TV channels, yes I know most people don't go to a Hotel for TV, I am older, travel alone, like to watch MeTv, Grit, INSP etc.. this HIE had none of those and for me little other choices. Most IHG hotels do have MeTv, and some other good choice. Just including this for like minded travelers.

The Bad: One Elevator was out of order. The elevator that was working was dirty. There was food on the elevator floor and hand prints all over the sliding door and the control panel. The floor from the lobby to the elevator was as dirty from my arrival until I left the next day. The Breakfast was not as advertised unless you like biscuits and gravy with only eggs and potatoes! No meat. The Worst: I asked for a quiet room and was put on the fourth floor which I first thought was great. What I didn't anticipate was the extreme traffic noise from being on the fourth floor on the back side of the Hotel along Johnston Road (Highway 521). I should have asked to move to the front side, but I thougt it would die down as the night progressed. I was so wrong. Since there is also an intersection within a block or so, all you heard were racing car engines and loud mufflers everytime the light changed! I warn anyone staying at this location to book a room on the front side of the Hotel otherwise you will not get any sleep at all. I had high hopes, because I wanted that location, but I was disappointed and will write this one night stay off as a one and done!

What I didn't anticipate was the extreme traffic noise from being on the fourth floor on the back side of the Hotel along Johnston Road (Highway 521). I should have asked to move to the front side, but I thougt it would die down as the night progressed. I was so wrong. Since there is also an intersection within a block or so, all you heard were racing car engines and loud mufflers everytime the light changed! I warn anyone staying at this location to book a room on the front side of the Hotel otherwise you will not get any sleep at all. I had high hopes, because I wanted that location, but I was disappointed and will write this one night stay off as a one and done!

I thought this was a really good place to stay at. Breakfast was good. Parking was free and convenient. Good central location just south of 485. Staff was very attentive to all issues. Would definitely stay here again. It was winter time so didn't use the pool.

For the price, this hotel was exactly as expected. The check-in process was smooth, and I was given a small welcome bag with snacks and water, which was a nice touch. The room itself was spacious and clean. The lighting was on the low side, but that didn’t bother me since I actually prefer softer lighting. There was an annoying beeping sound every couple of seconds that I first noticed when trying to sleep the first night — and once I heard it, I couldn’t unhear it for the rest of my stay. I later found through a quick Google search that this seems to be a common issue in some Holiday Inn Express locations, related to electrical components in the headboard panel. Luckily, I had earplugs, so I made do. Since I only had a short stay left by that point, I didn’t request maintenance assistance. One disappointment was the lack of Netflix or any streaming options on the TV. Most hotels offer this now, so it felt like a miss. My only options were to use my laptop to stream or settle for local television channels. On the positive side, the location was very convenient — close to my work site, several eateries, and a grocery store — which made getting around easy. Overall, a decent stay for the price with a few minor drawbacks that future guests should be aware of.

Extremely rude front desk agent. Managed to decline 3 credit cards while yelling at me that my cards are the problem. Then low and behold it worked. Also extremely rude about the $90USD pet fee which Expedia failed to mention on their website! What a rude and horrible reception after a 15 hour drive.

Smoke and/or carbon monoxide blinking light over the bed was annoying, room above us must have had children small enough to be jumping on/off the bed, making it hard to sleep several hours late into the night. Place was great other than that and we will stay here again, but maybe on top floor next time :/

My room was lovely. However the walls were very thin. Although the guest in the adjoining room was not playing the Tv loudly, I could hear every word when the TV was on.

when we arrived at the hotel there were hoses all over the entrance with no signs. then an employee appeared 15 minutes later and started to power watch the front. there were no signs for our safety and we had to pick up our luggage to get into the front door. very hazzarous.

Great location and it’s walking distance to Sprouts, Publix, and Walgreens. The staff was wonderful. Housekeeping came by everyday which I noticed hasn’t been the norm since COVID for some hotels. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes from the highway depending on the traffic. It’s about 25 minutes minimum from the city center which isn’t bad. Location is surrounded by beautiful trees. My room faced the road but it wasn’t noisy at all. I couldn’t hear the traffic and it didn’t disrupt my sleep. Breakfast was available but I didn’t eat it because I had food from Sprouts but I liked that it was available! There are board games and space to work remote in the hotel lobby. The staff gave me a goodie bag with water and treats upon check-in which was so sweet. Overall, I recommend. Also, Ballantyne is a lovely area.

I even saw a facilities have enough pride to pick up a discarded water bottle from the parking lot...imagine that!

My rooms walls started making a cracking sound at 5:30 am that ear plugs could not block. This is my second time at this property and they had a service issue with one of the two elevators. I chose this facility for its EV charging stations. But they had a customer that was plugged in for four days straight and did nothing about it. I did the best I could to share the other charging station with the other guest. Breakfast was pretty darn good!

The neighboring room was loud and followed with an altercation with the room across the hall in the hallway during early a.m. hours. The police was present. The elevator was broken my entire two day stay therefore 4th floor was very inconvenient. Was not offered no discount or another room that served the listed accommodations for the stay.

Never greeted from the staff when entering the hotel. The day of my arrival front desk clerk (guy) complicated my preferred card payment made for booking reservations. He added additional charges to my credit card and forced my card to cancel the transaction. So I had to use my bank debit card for the entire payment due. I never had a hotel to bill my debit card upfront before the departure check out date. Very bad miss practicing at that hotel.i will never trust no other Holiday Inn Express again. The house keeping service wasn't to my satisfactory either.

I chose the hotel because it was closest to where my niece and her family were moving to. We were helping them ot move so I wanted a nice clean room, lots of towels, and peace and quiet with continental breakfast. Score - 100% on all accounts.

This hotel is situated in a bougie little area that seems to be referred to as Ballantyne. As many times as I have driven up to and stayed in Charlotte, I never knew about it and it is quite nice! The hotel itself is very clean and modern and is tucked away from a main road that has easy access to I-485. Everything around here feels nice and new and there are plenty of nice dining options nearby. The staff were very friendly, always saying hello in the halls and making sure everything was functioning properly and clean. The breakfast was actually pretty great with hot and cold, protein and carb options, and coffee was available at all times. The wifi was easy to connect to and very reliable. I would absolutely stay here again.

We booked two queen beds for our family and we were bumped to another hotel and given one king sized bed due to a church group booking all the rooms in the area.

I had to use the stairs my entire stay as elevator was broken. Did not receive a discount on the rate. But I receive 8oz of water an Oreo cookie and 9 goldfish crackers

They chose to keep the full amount for the remaining nights we couldn’t use—even though the room was left empty and most likely rebooked after we left. It’s clear this place cares more about squeezing every dollar out of guests than showing even basic human decency. Very money-hungry and cold. I would not recommend staying here unless you’re 100% sure nothing unexpected will happen, because they won’t care. At all.
