Reviews
The hotel is praised for its prime location and friendly staff, but some guests express concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. The wine and cheese hour is a popular amenity, but parking and water pressure in the showers are frequent complaints.

Last time I stayed was 40 years ago, and I felt at home the moment I walked in the lobby to check in..lots of memories, I stayed there at least once a week for at least 5 years until I moved north and almost everything is the same with the exception of some upgrades…..I wish the rest of downtown Charleston retained its charm like The Meeting Street Inn.
- 3/5
The commode in the room was not flushing when we arrived. I called and let the desk know. They dropped a plunger off at the door for me to take care of the problem! It was an ongoing problem all weekend. I continued to let the front desk know and they just said they would note it. Also the AC wasn’t working properly. It was set on 62 but the room temp remained at 76 or above.
- 3/5
The property was in a good location but it is in need of a refresh in a serious way. The Ac was ineffective and the bed was old and not comfortable. The continental breakfast every day was nice but ran out very quickly. Bottom line it was not a great value for the rate.
- 4/5
The location is 100%! We could walk to great restaurants, shops etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Each night there was a happy hour with some lite appetizers later in the evening cookies and milk were out. Continental breakfast each morning. The hotel could use a remodel and keep its historical charm.
- 5/5
Lovely breakfast and a very cute and quaint spot to stay!
- 4/5
The building is quaint while the setting is very convenient to the market and downtown. I was disappointed with the view. In the photos it shows these lovely balconies, but they face an empty lot where apparently condos are going to be built.
- 5/5
Thanks for having decaf coffee. The inn is a perfect location for touring Charleston and for eating in historical area. Loved our stay.
- 4/5
Excellent location, charming hotel—my new favorite in Charleston. We appreciated the patio for afternoon wine and cheese as well as breakfast. Beds were super comfortable.
- 5/5
Room and bathroom were clean.. the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable..

Easy access to city tours & landmarks. The hotel need remodeling.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here very close to walk to everything very clean and the staff was friendly. Definitely gives you that old Charleston feel.I

A beautiful hotel of the old south, the rooms are modern and well kept. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the staff is wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Continental breakfast, wine and cheese at 6, and chocolate chip cookies every evening! Love this place!
- 5/5
Customer service was wonderful. What a great treat… wine & cheese at 5:00, then milk & cookies at 8:00. We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Another beautiful iconic classy hotel in a beautiful city. We got very lucky because they tore the building down next to us, but the construction had not yet begun so it was a great view of the city from our top floor room and yet quiet. Additionally, there was a block party going on at night with tremendous chef concoctions open to the public. It was a celebration of sorts and it was very festive and fun.. The restaurants in this city are top-notch exceeded only by the level of service and hospitality.. we will be back
- 3/5
The room had a disgusting very very dirty rug and an old style box AC on a hole on the wall. The AC noise was unbearable so had to sleep without AC on summernights. Most surfaces, from window shades to the floor were sticky. Bathroom had all sorts of human hair from previous guests over tiles and toilet. What they offered as breakfast is below rating. All these management failures are unaceptable.
- 5/5
Nice location , friendly staff
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was not at a level I would expect for a downtown Charleston hotel. We had a better breakfast at the Holiday Inn express in Camden, SC the night before. The pre-made omelet's were a great example of this. Also, a Kuerig in the room is pretty much standard for all hotels in this day and age.
- 5/5
Great location. Loved the breakfast, happy hour and evening cookies. Beautiful historic property.
- 3/5
The room was okayish, nothing terrible, but nothing that stood out either. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast, which was very limited and underwhelming. Also, parking was inconvenient since it was in an open lot about a 5-minute walk away from the hotel. The location was fine and the stay was manageable overall, but for the amount charged per night, I expected a much better experience and more convenience.
- 5/5
Great location to see Charleston. Friendly staff and great Inn.
- 1.5/5
Great location in the historic district, walking distance to restaurants. 1) Hotel failed to notify us of the massive construction project and noise opposite the hotel until a day before arrival. Fortunately workers weren't working during our stay, but not warning us at booking was DECEPTIVE. There was a white sound machine in our room so obviously management is aware of the problem. 2) No coffee set up in the room. This is standard even in lower price chain hotels. 3) Bathroom design makes it impossible to turn on and adjust shower without standing inside, risking freezing or scalding. Bathroom floor gets soaked. 4) Bathroom has handicap bar out of reach, and slippery floor. 5) Bathroom doesn't have a single towel bar! Just a few hooks. No place to dry a towel or wash cloth, so you are forced to get new towels every day and waste water/laundry. Less critical but extremely disappointing: parking is an inconvenient walk from hotel, and overall the hotel exterior and common areas are tired-looking. Staff is hit-or-miss with breakfast staff very friendly and helpful, desk/managers less so. In summary, a disgracefully overpriced hotel for inadequate and even hazardous facilities.
- 1/5
I would look for other options bef
- 4/5
The $20 parking was about 5 blocks away, and at check in time, the place was a chaos, with only a few spaces in front of the Inn to unload bags, all of which were taken when we got there. There is nowhere to wait and not block traffic. There are nice touches though . . . A hot tub, snacks, wine, and a nice courtyard. Employees were helpful.
- 3/5
Dated, moderately clean, average breakfast. The happy hour was nice and great location.
- 2/5
The room was dirty and small and had no iron. Also they put us in a room with two double beds, when we booked one king bed. Also there was gum on the floor of the room that I stepped on in my bare feet. This is just the highlights, but it was generally pretty bad. The staff was friendly if a bit unhelpful.
- 4/5
Staff were very helpful and the continental breakfast was very good. They also have a great wine hour and milk and cookies. Great location to see the low country and French Quarter
- 5/5
Outstanding hotel. I’m already looking forward to going back!
- 5/5
Great location. Close to everything. Charming hotel. Loved breakfast, happy hour and cookies and milk.
- 4/5
The wine and cheese happy hour was great - nice touch! The room was ok, found a rather large roach in the shower the last day. Told the front desk and she seemed like it was going to be addressed.
- 3/5
The air conditioner was loud. The bathroom was on the smaller side. Beds were comfortable enough and staff was friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Yes and Yes
- 5/5
The breakfast was fresh. Parking was everywhere but at a price. Loved the afternnon wine and cheese party's.
- 1/5
I take one vacation a year, and this hotel looked good from the photos. When I arrived to the location, it is about the same quality as a motel 8. Rooms have a cold feel, are very old, with the stale smell of cleaning product Unfortunately for me, I booked 3 days here in advance, and was only able to get 2 of those days refunded. I would have gladly stayed for the 3 days I booked, but I was catfished. When I arrived, the hotel was not as advertised. I ended up staying at another hotel for a little bit more cost, and a 10 X better experience Please do better and stop overcharging
- 5/5
Such a great "at home" feel! Cozy and such a warm and loving staff!
- 3/5
Next to a construction site; also felt like it could use a refresh for the price.
- 3.5/5
It was hot in the room and the AC clicks on regularly to compensate but it’s very loud and doesn’t stay on long enough to make a huge difference. There was continental breakfast but the only hot food was powdered or boiled eggs.
- 4.5/5
The breakfast was "very" continental. Could have been better.
- 5/5
Absolutely love this boutique hotel!! So kind and unique
- 3/5
Our room was mediocre. Each full bed only had 2 pillows and no extra in the closet. The room felt dated. The staff were friendly enough. The location was very central. They’re building a four seasons next door, so I can imagine the construction noise will be problematic for the foreseeable future. We wouldn’t stay here again, definitely nicer hotels in Charleston.
- 5/5
Perfect location, central to everything. Comfortable room, exceptionally friendly staff. We had a problem with the AC in our room; it was dealt with immediately. We made regular use of the water filling station, and the lovely courtyard.
- 4/5
Loved and appreciated all the extras included with the property. Did not love the tip envelope for housekeeping in the room.
- 5/5
Beautiful place- right in downtown.
- 4/5
Breakfast included, wine and cheese happy hour and milk and cookies at night. Nice touch. Air conditioner was loud and constantly cycled on and off.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and available. The breakfast was convenient, varied and good. The evening wine and appetizer hour was delightful and encouraged meeting some of the other guests and comparing notes. The weather encouraged sitting at courtyard tables as well as inside. The room was spacious with enough surfaces to spread our things out. However I was surprised at no towel bars and hope they install some in the bathroom. The self-parking lot was close-by and convenient. We would stay here again.
- 5/5
The location was great, staff was very helpful and informative, rooms were very clean, the morning breakfast was limited but still very good. I would stay there again
- 5/5
The room had an incredibly strong bleach smell.
- 4/5
Location, breakfast and cleanliness were good. The staff was great! Very efficient, responsive and friendly. They had a nice happy hour every evening which was very nice. The AC in our room was loud and we used ear plugs.
- 3/5
Comfortable bed. The A/C was one the old fashioned wall units that cycled on and off throughout the night, kind of like a Motel 6. The toilet paper was gas station grade. But friendly staff
- 3/5
Cute place, but room was not very clean- there were crumbs on the rugs all around bed and in the corners of the room, and the rug was shedding, definitely could have used a decent vacuum and cleaning.
- 4/5
Parking is offsite about 3 blocks away. 25 dollars a day. Pretty steep. The place is old and outdated but has some charm to it. Breakfast was ok. Rooms are outdated and could use some work. Window unit AC in the room extremely noisy and not very efficient. Was really humid in the room.
- 4/5
Pleasant staff. Nightly happy hour wine and cheese snacks was a nice surprise. The parking situation is very inconvenient.
- 4/5
Great location. Enjoyed staying on the ground floor near the courtyard last week. Breakfast was just ok but nice not having to go out in the morning. No coffee, tea or microwave in room. Returned for one night before leaving for airport but this run was dark and dirty floor. Changed rooms to second floor but that room had no towels, room not finished being cleaned. Breakfast was weak.
- 5/5
A classic Inn with great location. Lovely courtyard for breakfast and complimentary late afternoon wine and cheese.

- 5/5
Amazing location and amenities! Great location to walk to everything. We also enjoyed sitting in the beautiful courtyard. The breakfast, wine and cheese hour, and nightly cookies were really nice touches. All staff were also friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 3.5/5
Convenient location; coffee in the lobby Shower has a half door so bathroom floor was flooded. Had a small private balcony but no furniture and wood railing was rotted and seemed extremely unsafe. Checkout was at Noon yet housekeeping was pounding at the door at 9am (no communication on what rooms are ready to be changed over)
- 4.5/5
Location was great...very close to the market and within walking distance to many stores on Meeting Street and King Street. Construction next door (I know it's temporary) but it was very noisy in the mornings. Offsite location for parking and $25/day fee not included.
- 4/5
Most of the tours we wanted to do were close to the hotel. There were ample good restaurants that were close as well as good shopping close by. We enjoyed the large breakfasts and the evening wine and charcuterie very much. The staff was very friendly and personable and quick to help. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning unit was very loud.
- 5/5
Great location. Clean. Wine, cheese, cookies were a great touch. I would stay here again for sure. Very “Charleston”.
- 3/5
It was a fine place in a good location…BUT they are building a massive hotel next. Door and construction was loud starting at 7am. Hard to use that courtyard. They are just beginning construction. I feel bad for this hotel. Staff was great, rooms clean
- 5/5
Perfect spot. Great location, clean fresh rooms, friendly staff with a Charleston vibe. Can't think of anything to complain about.
- 3/5
Just a head's up - if you stay within the next year or so, there is ongoing construction that starts at 7a. The hotel may warn others about this, but they didn't tell us.
- 1.5/5
The noise from the construction site fifteen feet from our door was intolerable. You should warn potential customers about the noise for $500 a night.
- 3/5
Yes Breakfast was great.
- 3/5
First, if you like sleeping past 7am, I would book somewhere else at least until the end of 2027. They are building a Four Seasons next door. Second, whoever designed the bathroom should be fired. There is one small glass panel on the shower that does not stop water from getting all over the floor. It is clearly a slip risk, especially for older people. Apart from that it was fine. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee in the room, but it was easy to pick up from downstairs. Beds were decent and the staff were very friendly. A heads up that the paid parking is located a couple of blocks away.
- 0.5/5
They tried hard with evening appetizers and drink- and breakfast But didn’t make up for the 7am wake up call of building next door being demolished Construction noise at 7am
- 3.5/5
Great location and courtyard. The rooms were clean and staff was courteous.
- 4.5/5
Breakfast options are limited, and the carpeting looks outdated.
- 5/5
Beautiful The courtyards
- 4.5/5
Staff was incredibly nice and responsive. They accommodated our early arrival and held our luggage in the interim. Any question we had, they addressed. It's a beautiful inn and a great location. Parking was also very easy. Even with construction, our room was quiet. We loved our outside balcony. Snacks and breakfast were wonderful.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. Wine and cheese in the afternoon was very nice
- 4/5
Breakfast free and good.Congenial environment.Top notch locale.
- 5/5
Not quite hot enough
- 4/5
It is centrally located in Charleston, everything is within walking distance for a 2-4 day visit. Demolishment of an old apartment building/motel, next door, woke us up in the morning and kept going all day. So, not pleasant to sit outside. Will be building a four seasons hotel complex in it’s place
- 2/5
Construction next door kept my wife from sleeping
- 5/5
Parking in charkeston is always at a premium They offered a parking lot 2 blocks away for$ 20 a day or valet parking gor $45 Offered a fine breakfast ,wine and cheese from 4-6:00 and coomies at 8:00
- 4/5
An excellent location near the city market. The room was clean with an old world charm. The staff was pleasant. There are many shopping and eating opportunities within walking distance. One negative was the construction going on nearby.
- 2/5
There were many excellent restaurants and shops nearby accessible due to this location.
- 2/5
Property next door was under demolition so the noise and dirt were terrible. Bathroom in room 215 was not very nice. Shower flooded floor and toilet was too close to the shower. Air conditioner was very loud. Breakfast was okay but no meat. Staff was very kind and when we decided to leave early we were promptly refunded. I would not recommend until construction of new neighboring hotel is complete.
- 3/5
There was a major construction project next door to this property, and directly behind our room there was heavy machinery and excavation that started weekday mornings at 6:30am, making it impossible to sleep in. Neither Expedia, nor the property upon arrival, warned us about this and it was a rather rude awakening. The hotel said that they warn guests about this via email one week in advance, but because I booked through Expedia I had no such warning. Not acceptable Expedia.
- 5/5
Perfect location—only downside was that they no longer have their own adjacent self parking lot as they did a few years ago
- 5/5
Great location
- 2/5
I'll start with the good. It's centrally located with a lot of food options nearby. You can easily walk to a lot of tourist attractions. The room was clean and they serve breakfast. Now for the bad, there is construction going on next door which the staff does not even acknowledge. Construction starts around 7am and can hear it from your room. Additionally, some of the staff seemed disinterested in engaging with the guests.
- 2.5/5
The construction next door was really unfortunate. Would not have booked if we knew.
- 4/5
There was plenty of shopping, dining, and activities. The hotel had good food. We really enjoyed our cheese and wine at five. Hope construction next door will finish soon.
- 4/5
Problems were very noisy air conditioner, construction noise ext door starting at 7 AM, and the toilet seat was short and did not fit the elongated toilet.
- 4/5
Enjoyed the spa. The staff was respectful and hospitable.
- 5/5
The location of the hotel was perfect. We had a car and only had to use when we went to a nearby town. The complimentary breakfast in the mornings, wine & cheese in the afternoon, and cookies & milk at night, were the perfect touch for this quaint little hotel. It was super close to the market and king street, all the cool restaurants, and over all a really good area. The room was just perfect for our family staying a few days. There was even a small pool if you go in the summer. We stayed in the ground floor and we never heard anyone. We would stay here again!
- 5/5
Very close to the Charleston Markets. Old historic charm. Nice free breakfast as well as free wine, beer and cheese in the evening
- 5/5
Shops and restaurants nearby
- 3/5
Unfortunately there was a complete demolition of the property next door that shook my balcony room at 7am so we checked out after one night. The shower partition is just decorative as water got all over the floor. There were no lights at night for the stairs, halls or outside of the elevator. The parking is also two blocks away on the other side of the road for $25 a night. Very unfortunate as the location was fantastic.
- 5/5
Our stay was nice. Rooms very clean, staff friendly, loved the little extras having wine n cheese, cookies at night n breakfast in the morning.

There is a huge demolition going on next door with unbearable noise and dust starting at 7am. Spare yourself a headache and don't book this place at least until demolition amd construction is over. The carpet on the room couldn't be dirtier. Restroom was ok clean and beds were comfy.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Lovely room in an old historic building. The staff was pleasant and the location is near so many great places to visit! There is construction going on next door so the view is a bit messy, but we were there on a weekend so there wasn’t noise. We appreciated the wine and cheese in the evening and the 12pm checkout!

The hotel is in a great location; however, there was major demolition construction directly next door and so it was very noisy from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Since it was chilly, no one was sitting outside, but they had propane heaters that they did not light so we all jammed into the lobby for the wine and cheese hour. I asked about this and they had no real answer. We have stayed here before and it is not the same. They should upgrade their linens, the fitted sheet did not stay in place during the night and was very thin. The bed did not have a mattress pad on the bed either. The continental breakfast was nice as well as the wine and cheese hour.

Staff not very friendly or welcoming. Major demolition construction next to the hotel although we understand that was not their fault. The extreme noise from 7am to 4 pm was very difficult. People walking in the room above us was pretty loud as well. It’s an old building, I get that. Building is run down. Our room was fairly nice considering. Location is excellent. I think if staff was nicer, it would have helped the overall experience.

parking is almost 2 blocks away. the front desk clerk was rude. The room had the craziest shower. there was a quarter glass door and the rest was completely open. there was no way to avoid water getting all over the floor. Not realizing it right away my clothes and everything on the floor were soaked. I tried moving the shower head as far back as I could I hit my elbow so hard on the faucet. the floor is slippery and soaked. It was insane.

Great location a block from the busy King Street with shops, coffee, and restaurants all around. The Inn has a cute, chic Charleston vibe with daily wine and cheese hour. Breakfast was simple but consistent and had hot foods included. Night one, we had a cockroach crawling up one of the beds and on the mattress. Not pleasant to see. The hot tub was a draw for us and a nice way to wind down but water temp (88) was more like a warm pool. Unpleasant when corrections were given to staff within earshot of numerous guests in the lobby. Rooms clean and nicely furnished with comfortable beds.

Great location a block from the busy King Street with shops, coffee, and restaurants all around. The Inn has a cute, chic Charleston vibe with daily wine and cheese hour. It was good! There was an unusual dripping sound when we would run the faucet. Sounds like it was in the pipes in the walls. It rained one night and there was an annoying dripping sound as well but we never found any leaks. King size suite is definitely not a king size bed. It was a nice stay but we would choose somewhere else next time.

Very homey little inn. Friendly staff and nice & cozy lobby to have a conversation with other guests. I would definitely stay again. Great variety for breakfast with healthy options of Greek yogurt and whole fruit. Really nice staff. Evening wine & cheese reception ant 5 pm and warm cookies at 8 pm nightly. Such a nice touch. Ideal central location for walking to sites.

We have stayed here several times and keep coming back. Location is ideal for walking to restaurants and sites. We love the pretty courtyard and hot tub. Staff is very friendly. We were disappointed that they charge a fee ($35?) for early check in. If the room is ready, it costs you nothing to let us in early but creates a negative vibe to charge a fee (which we chose not to do).

The hotel is fine, nothing spectacular. Staff was nice, not overly friendly. Understandably, it’s an old building and so that’s hard to modify to appear brand new, however, it’s a window unit for the heat and air. It did a fine job heating just expected more updated/upgraded for the price. There were hairs in the bathroom and the mirror on the bathroom door was dirty, when I arrived to the room. But other than that, the room seemed clean. My biggest complaint is that the way the shower is set up, there’s no way to shower without water spilling over the edge of the shower floor and on to the bathroom floor, soaking the floor with every shower. I feel bad for the staff having to clean that every day. They did a great job of dealing with that, by the way. Overall, it was fine but for the price it did not wow me.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 4/5
The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the outdoor patio was very relaxing. I was worried it would be loud since it’s on meeting street but it wasn’t!
- 2/5
Parking was a nightmare and not clearly explained. The lobby blared music all night long. Did not get any sleep. Will never stay here again and will not ever recommend this Inn to anyone.
- 5/5
The room appeared to have been recently remodeled and it was spotless. Housekeeping staff kept that way each day. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a personable experience.

Worst part of our stay: We were placed in a room in the very back of Hotel on 1st flloor, next to Laundry facilities. The view from our window and doorway looked straight into the laundry room. This was peculiar since there were at least 3 rooms I observed with lights on that were Unoccupied during the 1 night of our stay.
- 4/5
Excellent location, the fountain for breakfasts, afternoon snacks
- 5/5
Perfect place!!!!
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodations. The hot tub, wine and cheese, cookies, and continental breakfast were a plus. The only negative is the off site parking (they do offer valet service).

Very Nice
- 5/5
The whole stay was excellent. Excellent price, excellent service, excellent quality of the amenities. The wine amd cheese each evening was a great treat.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at the Meeting Street Inn. We loved watching the sun rise and the moon at night from our private balcony. The hot tub provided a means to relax at the end of a busy day and the breakfast with different main courses each day was delicious. We also enjoyed the daily wine and cheese gatherings and the cookies at night. The beds were super comfortable, too. My only complaints are that the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work well (steamy room after a shower) and the air conditioner was quite noisy. But we loved it here regardless.
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful place to stay. Perfect location to walk to nearby shopping and restaurants! Would recommend to anyone who asked.
- 3/5
The smell in the lobby was rancid. The staff was ok. The rooms were decent. The pillows were not comfortable and beds were small. Beautiful space. Food was ok. The wine and cheese was nice. I would not stay here again
- 5/5
Loved the room great location in downtown Charleston
- 5/5
The room was in exceptional condition & we were pleasantly surprised with a daily cleaning/freshening up. The daily breakfast was delicious, as well. It is a lovely, ambient hotel that provided exactly what we desired: an authentic Charleston French Qtr experience.
- 5/5
clean, room was fine.
- 5/5
This was our first time in Charleston, Meeting Street Inn was perfect location for everything. It was centered perfect between the Market and King Street. About a mile walk to the boardwalk. The rooms were very clean and the beds are comfortable. I loved the courtyard for sitting and relaxing. Also a very safe area for night-time walks. Loved the wine & cheese spread along with cookies at night. We really enjoyed our stay!

This is a very well run Inn that is beautiful. The owners do a great job with a daily "wine & cheese" service and the breakfast that's included is delicious. They also do a "cookies & milk" service but we were too busy sightseeing to participate in this. Parking is about 3 blocks walk so is not ideal especially when it's pouring rain like it was when we were there but the location is the best as it's in the historic district of Charleston and super walkable to everywhere...restaurants galore and the famous City Market is only 2 blocks or so. You can catch a Horse & Carriage ride easily and book other tours easily. Our room was beautiful and well appointed since this place does charge a lot more money but it is worth it!
- 5/5
The front desk team Yulia and Danila deserves special recognition — polite, efficient, and always ready to help. Whether it was providing directions, restaurant recommendations, or just checking in to see if I needed anything, they were exceptional. Outstanding customer service!
- 5/5
Perfect location and the staff was amazing
- 3/5
The place was strictly fair in every aspect
- 3/5
The location is wonderful and the staff were so kind. The happy hour was a great touch too! However the rooms were a bit out of date and quite dusty.
- 3/5
Overall we had a very nice stay, until $100, a pack of stamps, and my ATM number was stolen from my locked room. Be sure to put valuables in the safe!
- 2/5
The hotel staff wasn’t the friendliest. Rooms were not clean. The AC was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV when it was on and we had the TV at its highest volume (70). Water pressure was low. The glass on the walk-in shower isn’t wide enough to keep water from puddling the floor. There are paint droppings all over the wooden floor. The rug under the beds was very dirty. Overpriced. The location was okay.
- 3/5
And more choices The afternoon wine was the best part other than location. I did not understand the doors opened to the outside. Also the room was very stuffy when the loud rattley air conditioner wasn’t on. Great location. Needs more love. Also the staff could be more cheerful.
- 5/5
Great time staying at the Meeting Street In. While in Charleston. Great location, historic hotel, great service, big room. Hot tub was great after a long day of walking and sightseeing.
- 4/5
The location was perfect and the staff was friendly. The included breakfast and happy hour is a nice touch. The rooms have a little bit of cosmetic wear and tear but we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place
- 3/5
We MOSTLY enjoyed the hotel for its location and staying in a historic Charleston property. DOWNSIDE: The beds are as hard as a rock, the AC did not work properly, the safe did not work, but we really did not need to use it. The food was fair to good for the price of the room. We will NOT stay at the Meeting Street Inn for our next visit, nor would we recommend your hotel to our friends who frequent/visit Charleston.
- 4/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great location, beautiful historic hotel. Thanks for the milk and cookies!
- 5/5
Perfect location, easy access, valet parking and friendly staff
- 2/5
For a $350 a night hotel we were pretty disappointed. The rooms had water damage and the painting was sloppy. No mini fridge and breakfast was just some fruit and cereal. There was a burned out car in the abandoned hotel next door. However the hotel was close to what we wanted to see and the staff willingly changed us to a different room. Not likely to stay there again especially at that price.
- 4/5
Generally nice hotel in a walkable convenient location. Lovely courtyard area and complimentary happy hour with wine and snacks and 8:00pm cookies and milk. Only complaint was the awkward shower enclosure - absolutely no way to keep the bathroom floor from getting wet.
- 5/5
Amazing staff! Rooms were nice and it’s in a convenient area between King St and Market St. Highly recommend!
- 3/5
Our room was very clean except the rug the beds sat on needed shampooing and there were paint splatters all over wood floor. The building itself needed updating as the building itself is old. They should have a carpet in entrance area as floor gets slippery with rain. Parking is a long block and a half away, it costs 40/day to use valet. We did not take advantage of hot tub as it rained while we were there. Staff was very kind. Breakfast buffet was good, my daughter told me she saw 5 cockroaches in the lobby. Wine and cheese a nice addition for the afternoon.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly staff
- 4/5
We have stayed at this hotel twice and we really like the location.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay overall. Staff members were friendly and I loved the welcome service and breakfast. The small pool outside is excellent. Just needs improvement with cleanliness of the room where less noticeable such as under the bedside table. Parking spot is 5 minutes walk away, which is not the best.
- 5/5
Great area to walk and dine
- 5/5
Great staff, easy to walk around town.
- 5/5
Always a lovely stay. Staff so helpful and professional. Right in the middle of downtown
- 4/5
Southern charm. Cool patio. Room was clean and comfortable except for carpet which was coming apart.
- 5/5
Property is close to everything. We enjoyed milk and cookies and wine and cheese and the breakfast was great. Extended check out enabled us to do more in the city next day too.
- 4/5
Good location, friendly helpful staff. Room aircon noisy.
- 5/5
Clean room, good breakfast, cheese snack and vine in the afternoon was surprising. Excellent location - walking distance to places.
- 3/5
Great location, there are many shops and restaurants in walking distance.
- 5/5
the location is perfect and the side yard is so nice.
- 4/5
Staff, shops nearby and fun atmosphere but quiet and respectful atmosphere.
- 5/5
We stayed four nights at Meeting Street Inn. The staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean. Be aware that it’s an old building and it’s an inn, not a hotel. You will not find a lot of amenities here. But you get a quiet stay, in a charming, historic Charleston Single-style building at a reasonable price. Continental breakfast was included and was different each day and everything was tasty and well-prepared. A wine and cheese reception is provided every day at 5:00 PM and milk and cookies at 8:00 PM. The Inn’s location is perfect because everything we wanted to do and see was within walking distance. In a brief five minute walk from the Inn you can be at the City Market, Bulldog tours, Old South Carriage tours, King Street, Queen Street and more. I definitely recommend Meeting Street Inn.

Lovely hotel, strange noises
- 5/5
Great location . Fun amenties. Cookies and milk at 8pm! Parking is little difficult and /or expensive.
- 3/5
Breakfast was poor … and property on the whole needs updating . Location was perfect
- 5/5
Very accommodating. Our flight was very delayed and we didn’t Check in till 1 am. They were waiting for us with a key and took care of the car. Very friendly and helpful
- 5/5
- 5/5
Near all the great restaurants and shopping. Very nice and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Thought a couple of staff weren’t very friendly on our arrival (a little disappointing) & the air conditioning unit in our room was very noisy so turned off during the night.
- 4/5
Good location and good quality breakfast and 224/7 coffee and tea available.
- 5/5
This is a Gem in the Heart of the French quarter in Charleston, so location is a 10 star 💫 in the middle of everything you need to reach just by walking. The outdoor seating area will take you to different worlds and times, it is part of Charleston history. Services are beyond others offering. Breakfast from Tea and Coffee to Bagels and Cheese to eggs and Waffles to many other things. From 5 - 7 3 types of Wine and 3 types ofCheese, fruits, Olives, Crackers, Hummus and many others. At night you can have a warm milk and chocolate chips and biscuits. Others go to more fancy looking buildings to stay, then why come to Historic Charleston without being part of it?!!! Staff is more than welcoming with a sincere smile and always there to make you feel you don’t want to go back Home. One of the best thing we had in Charleston is the Meeting Street Inn
- 2/5
I had a missing dress that was in my room. It took numerous calls and 3 days later for management to finally speak with me. They didn't resolve the issue. The hotel room wasn't very clean, and the tables in the courtyard were always dirty. The good thing about this hotel is it's location. I won't stay there again or recommend it.
- 2/5
Room was clean. Property is dated. Wine and cheese were good. Breakfast was terrible. All the milk was spoiled and front desk didn’t seem interested. I checked three cartons and all were horrible. Waffles were dry. Construction starts soon next door. Beware. The place needs some TLC
- 5/5
The hotel was so quaint and charming and was in the perfect location to walk to everything! The staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again!!
- 3/5
Beds were not very comfortable, floors creaked, ac unit was loud and no hvac vent in bathroom. Would not say was worth the cost of the room per night.
- 5/5
Nice property. Great location. We enjoyed the wine and cheese and cookies at night. The room was clean and comfy. Excellent stay.
- 4/5
Good location, authentically old building with lots of character, nice extras like the cheese and wine reception.
- 5/5
Very clean room. Hot tub could’ve been a tad warmer.
- 5/5
The breakfast was always good and the afternoon wine and cheese were great. Beautiful and cozy, we highly recommend the meeting place Inn.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! This is a moderately priced hotel in the Charleston historic district and we couldn't have been happier with it. Room was perfect, quaint, and had what we needed. Breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese in the courtyard were fantastic. The only downside was the noisy air conditioner. However, that was a small price to pay for a fantastic three night stay in Charleston. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
- 2/5
The venting machine was broken . And charges us about 20’in CC
- 5/5
Great place will return
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful and helpful. The location was ideal. The general appearance of the building was fine.
- 5/5
Cute and cozy
- 5/5
The Staff was amanzing. The place was clean the rooms a good size.
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok with waffles that were a bit soggy and boiled eggs that were older or over cooked to the point of being rubbery. We will look elsewhere on our next trip.
- 4/5
Great location. Property could use a sprucing up. Peeling paint on our ceiling. Old and noisy air conditioning units.
- 4/5
The AC unit in the room was very difficult to adjust and extremely loud all night. So we were very cold as it ran constantly no matter how we tried to adjust. The room had a moldy musty smell to it that they tried to cover up with a spray smell. Hard on the nose The breakfast was great and the wine and cheese reception a nice touch We were a little heartbroken when the leftover food was dumped into the garbage at the end. There was so much food not touched that could easily be put in the fridge for the next day. This upset some of the others as well. Overall a nice place with a great location. The AC, condition and smell of the room were a real turn off for us. For the money, I would look somewhere else next time.
- 4/5
Great location. Parking a few blocks away is a minor inconveenience.
- 5/5
Air conditioner in room was TOO LOUD!
- 4/5
Location was fantastic!
- 5/5
Great place to stay in downtown Charleston!
- 5/5
Staff was very kind. The place was unique and conveniently located. Would definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The Inn is quaint. Lovely courtyard and reception hour was an added bonus, but it is first come first served and they do not restock the food items beyond what is put out, so if you don’t get there early, there is no appetizers left. The continental breakfast was lacking too. A few fresh fruits were offered such as bananas and oranges. And some packets of oatmeal were offered. There was a couple hot items such as paper thin bacon and French toast that was too tough to cut with a knife. Luckily, the inn is within walking distance to several restaurants.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel! Our room and view were fabulous! The happy hour, breakfast and pool were all wonderful as well. Great central walkable location to everything you would want to visit in the city! We will most definitely be back!
- 5/5
Great location! Easy to walk to several activity start points, restaurants or easy to get a pick up by bike taxi or ride share. Front desk helpful. Continental breakfast was cereal, fruit, yogurt, sweetrolls, and rotating hot option (eggs, bacon, mini omlettes, etc.). Room was clean, comfy bed, extra pillows available. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Excellent location with in walking distance to everything. Property was clean and staff was very friendly
- 3/5
Awesome price. Awesome location . Anytime you can stay in downtown Charleston for under $200 per night it’s a good deal. Hard time sleeping because the AC is a wall unit and very loud.
- 5/5
The room is quaint and lovely. Large and very clean. Classy. The courtyard is very southern. I love the walk to our room.
- 5/5
Walkable to all points of interest….shopping, waterfront, dining…
- 5/5
The property offers nice perks, like breakfast, wine & cheese at happy hour, and even cookies and milk at 8 PM every day. This makes you want to hang around a bit more, and not just a place to crash.

- 4/5
Had a great time. Thank you !
- 5/5
Staff was amazing! So friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good, loved the wine & cheese afternoons and the cookies and milk at night. Bed was so comfy. Awesome location for walking to every place we wanted to see.
- 5/5
It was an excellent location within walking distance of everything of interest and a large selection of places to eat
- 5/5
The only slight negative was the parking which was two blocks away. We didn’t use our car during our 3 night stay so it wasn’t a problem.
- 5/5
Very convenient location-walkable to most things. We had an issue with air conditioning/shower not draining, but it was handled quickly and we were moved to another room. We highly recommend this property.
- 5/5
Nice staff, very clean & convenient.
- 4/5
Very old but updated rooms. comfortable and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast and wine and cheese party at 5pm. I would stay there again. Everything is close and in walking distance.
- 5/5
The Meeting Street Inn creates a true historic Charleston vibe. From the moment you step into the lobby you are transported back i to a gracious time. Their wine, cheese and fruit reception is lovely and their complementary cookies an milk at night were just a perfect ending to a day of exploring. The historic house rooms are spacious with wonderfully high ceilings and comfortable bed and furnishings. I highly recommend this Inn.
- 5/5
beyond amazing
- 5/5
I love the amenities at this inn. They had continental breakfast, wine and cheese in the evening, and milk and cookies at night. It has a historic charm in the middle of town and is walkable to shopping and restaurants.
- 4/5
Didnt like 25.00 parking 2 blocks away. Breakfast average. Cheese and wine was nice at 5. Room nice and central

Great location!
- 4/5
Needs some updating but super quaint and wonderful staff. Loud ancient air conditioning, floors are really rickety, low pressure in sink although good in shower and hot! Breakfast, wine hour, and nighttime cookies were a super nice touch even though basic. Would stay again but felt a little dirty :)
- 5/5
The hotel takes you back in time. From the courtyard to the rooms. Everything was so charming. Breakfast in the morning was the perfect amount of protein for our all-day walks. Everything from restaurants, the African Museum, Rainbow Row, and the waterfront park was all within walking distance. The only complaint I have is the 5-minute walk to your parking spot. I don't mind walking, but on a long, hot day, one just wants to pull up to the hotel and park. Other than that, this place was wonderful!
- 3/5
Location was good with many eateries in the immediate area. Inn was just ok. Should have gone to a breakfast cafe rather than sorting through the very limited included breakfast.
- 5/5
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
- 4/5
Staff was nice. Enjoyed the traditional southern layout of the property. When checking in, the front was full of service vehicles. Their parking is blocks away. It is a smaller property so the valet has other duties and wasn’t available. We were uncertain where to stop to go in to check in. Parked in a city lot behind the hotel at first. Some direction in advance would be helpful. The atmosphere is enjoyable and it is close to shopping.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! The hotel so fits the Charleston vibe. I took pictures constantly. The room was big and comfortable. The location was perfect to access the historic district, shopping, restaurants. Nice enough breakfast. Loved the cookies & milk.
- 4/5
Close to everything.
- 5/5
Great time at a convenient location
- 3/5
Being advertised as including breakfast, it was disappointing that when we got downstairs before 9, there was nothing left and speaking to other guests, this was not the first time. It would have been nice if there was replenishing of the actual breakfast food so that all guests could get what they paid for.
- 4/5
Close to a lot of restaurants
- 5/5
Lovely central hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast, beautiful older building which has been very well maintained- definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Fantastic stay. Great staff. Room had all the charm we were looking for in Charleston. Love the Happy Hour meet & greet experience. Great location as it was easy to walk around the downtown area too.
- 5/5
Terrific
- 4/5
Property was nice and in a great location. Staff was lovely, amenities like breakfast, cocktail hour and milk and cookies were especially nice. The air conditioning didn’t work very well and kept shutting off, loud older wall unit. Bed wasn’t that comfortable and very jiggly. Overall though it was a nice stay and a good value.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Great downtown location.
- 5/5
Close to everything!
- 3/5
This was a quaint hotel that was very old. It had charm but not modern amenities.
- 5/5
Beautiful Inn. Walking distance to a lot of attractions and shopping. I loved the wine and cheese they had every night. Everything was very clean. Staff was very polite. We enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
The Meeting Street Inn is friendly, clean, and comfortable. It's also in the best location! The staff was wonderful! I enjoyed breakfast every morning as well as the 5:00 pm wine and cheese. Parking in their lot was a breeze. I highly recommend for your stay in Charleston.
- 5/5
Great property. Wine & Cheese at 5:00 was wonderful. We met several couples while enjoying the courtyard. Very social establishment!
- 5/5
Very attentive staff
- 4/5
Very convenient location to shopping and restaurants. The facility was somewhat dated, although very clean. The hole in the wall was filled in with toilet paper. We stayed for two nights, and the room service was great. Had both breakfast and happy hour, no alcohol. Would recommend if you want to stay in the down town ares, for a reasonable price.
- 5/5
This is in the perfect location. What a cute courtyard. The rooms are so nicely decorated with southern charm.
- 5/5
Meeting Street Inn was wonderful! In the heart of town for easy and fast walkability, just minutes to our concert at The Riviera Theatre. Very clean and very nice staff. We would stay there again.
- 5/5
Charming! Staff was vey polite and accommodating.
