Reviews
The hotel staff was consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The location was also a high point, with many guests appreciating its proximity to downtown attractions. However, several guests expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel's facilities. The cost of parking and the quality of the breakfast service were also mentioned as cons.

The room itself was beautiful, bed was comfortable, bathroom was great and had great amenities. The hotels ambiance was also great, loved the coffee shop they had in the lobby. The location was also perfect, within walking distance of king st. However this whole experience was ruined by their unprofessional valet. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury, (and that charges ~$50 a night for mandatory valet parking) you would expect halfway decent service. Not a $5k repair bill after the valet rams the side of your car into a pillar because they were distracted by joking around. Luckily this was caught on dashcam, but I was never contacted about this despite being told everything would be taken care of. Front desk gave me a number that never answered. I ended going through my own insurance. As much as I loved the hotel, I cannot recommend anyone stay here if they must also park here.

Very nice rooms/decor Location is not good. Too far from everything

The hotel is beautiful and new. Love the design. The staff not so much.

The property was recently opened so the pool was not yet available. The staff was amazing. We walked where we wanted to go, which was great, even though it’s a little away from the main cluster of hotels. I liked that the balcony allowed us to get some fresh air in. It was quiet. My husband enjoyed the breakfast but nothing appealed to me so I ate my homemade cereal in the room. I’m not a fan of the exposed clothes hangars (no true closet), but they are increasingly common. Ok for short stays.

A great location and was very clean. Our air conditioning was not working and maintenance had to come by every 2-3 hours to have it run for an hour or two before it went out again. We were offered another room on our last night of our stay at around 9PM, which was not beneficial having our 10 month old with us.

I only have good things to say about the staff. The room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. I think for the price they could provide better than a 1 ply toilet paper however. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the wait staff made it a nice dining experience. Loved the lattes!!!!!!

Hotel is new the room immaculate, staff responsive

We wanted to use the pool, but it was closed for construction.

Very clean and friendly staff!

The hotel is nice looking. The room was nice. The bedding was cheap so it held in a lot of heat. It was not my best experience.
- 3/5
The room and the bathroom were very nice… comfortable mattress and plenty of space to lay out your luggage. The sheets on the bed were very rough and scratchy, almost itchy. The pillows had zero support. The most difficult part of this stay was that the sliding glass door to the balcony had zero noise insulation so we could hear everything on the street, including a car alarm that decided to go off four times in one evening. Overall, the hotel is nice, but they need to work out some of these other issues to make it a five star hotel.

AC not able to keep room cool, meaning neither of us slept well for either of our nights. At checkout, didn't even ask about our stay. Once told about the AC, made no attempt to offer any accommodation or even address the issue other than to make a snotty comment. Luckily Charleston itself was nice. Will come back, but NOT HERE!
- 4/5
The employees are great and they make all of the difference! The hotel is still in a pretty bad neighborhood. We were able to park down the street in public parking near the bus depot. I am sure that if you could secure safe parking, or better valet parking, your guests would enjoy that very much! There are some safety issues on the street!
- 5/5
Everything was fine
- 5/5
So clean, fresh. Feels like brand new building!

Front desk lady rude, need customer service training
- 5/5
Great stay right on the edge of the historic district. Easy valet parking.
- 4/5
Great location to explore Charleston
- 5/5
The Limited was exactly what I was looking for in downtown Charleston. Close to everything with clean rooms and dining options in the hotel. Would definitely come back again.
- 5/5
Great location, service, and accommodations.

So close to everything! The breakfast prices and selections in the restaurant are wonderful. Very clean and modern decor.

We paid almost $1000 dollars to stay at this hotel. The bathroom smelled terrible the entire time like there was a pipe that bursted or something. The sink faucet was leaking. There was no microwave and the floor by the balcony was soaking wet and got our clothes wet that we had set on the floor. Room service did not come by to empty our trash or anything. When we got there, was only valet parking for $35 a night, no parking lot for the hotel. We ended up paying $25 a night to park behind the hotel for the weekend.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful. Rooms were antiquated but comfortable and clean. Restaurant was very lacking. will still return another time.
- 5/5
Very nice place
- 5/5
Close to King street shopping. It was easy to get around. And staff was super nice and helpful
- 4/5
Leniently located in downtown Charleston
- 4/5
Hotel was as expected. Convenient location to walk to many restaurants. The apartments next door were full of young adults who were very loud but overall we had a good stay.
- 2/5
Things were broken in the room, the floor in the room was dirty, the gym was dirty and had no wipes to sanitize equipment before or after use, the building needs a full renovation. The welcome mat inside the hotel is badly stained. Staff were nice!
- 4/5
The rooms were clean, good location to King Street and the beds were super comfortable.
- 4/5
Staff was awesome. Hotel is out of the busy part of the historic district but a 20 minute walk or free bus ride has you there in very little time. $35 to valet park is just plain criminal. But the other option is a sketchy gravel lot or in the road at meters that have to be paid every 2 hours so they are going to steal as much money for parking as possible.
- 1/5
Shower drain came apart making me slip and fall in the shower. Fortunately just a bruise and pulled muscle but could have been much worse. Told them about it at check out and staff really didn’t seem to care or even apologize. Not a good experience at all and not a way to spend an anniversary vacation. Very disappointed. The valet gentleman at check out was amazing and very polite. I will not be recommending your location to anyone that I travel with personally or with my company

Close to King Street with all the shops and restaurants. And there’s a great pool at the hotel. Perfect on a hot day!
- 3/5
Staff was friendly.
- 5/5
I can’t express how nice, accommodating, and caring the staff were at The Limited Hotel. 10/10 service
- 5/5
Close to lots while being a bit off the main streets.
- 5/5
Only having valet parking was a downside.
- 5/5
We have stayed here twice now and plan to return! This past weekend was our anniversary and they surprised us with a complimentary charcuterie plate delivered to our room and a complimentary breakfast. And not just that, but they hand wrote us the sweetest Happy Anniversary note. That is above and beyond! The staff is AMAZING hands down!!!!!
- 2/5
The room smelled like urine. I understand it is a pet friendly hotel. But rooms that are pet friendly should be restricted solely for people booking a trip with a pet. The smell kept us up and we left early in the morning.
- 5/5
Thank you Zhane & the staff at The Limited! We love you all !! See you soon!!!!
- 4/5
The room we stayed in smelled badly. We kept our balcony door open and sprayed everything with a disinfectant spray and that helped. Everything in our room was very clean and spacious. Out of all of the great places in Charleston to stay, I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends.
- 4/5
Stay was great !
- 3/5
The pool area closed at 10:00pm. The doors to the outside area around the pool were locked. There's no where to mingle unless you stay inside. We didn't want to swim, just at least have somewhere to go besides the street (especially since directly across from the hotel is a sketchy gas station with a few homeless individuals).
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly. The condition of the carpets were pretty bad and the room smelled musty. If they do some remodeling it would definitely be way nicer. Everything else was wonderful
- 2/5
Our room had no air conditioning and when maintenance arrived, the solution was to bring us a box fan and wait for it to cool off. It never did, it was 100 degrees outside and 80 in our room. We finally, switched to another room the next night, which was somewhat cooler. The front door had a huge smashed window, not sure from what, but it did not make my daughter feel safe especially since it did not feel like one of the safer areas of town. When booking, it said close to the College, however, it was a 20 minute walk and after arriving we realized there were several hotels closer, nicer, and for the same rate. While the staff was friendly, I feel we overpaid for our room and ammentites.
- 5/5
Great hotel - great location. Paul at the front desk was very nice and helpful.
- 4/5
Relatively close to local restaurants, museums and retail stores. Reasonable pricing. Enjoyed the pool.
- 1/5
I liked the appearance in the lobby, but I did not like the room 5th floor, the room smelt like urine in the carpet just when you walked into the room, the windows looking out had handprints on them, and no one cleaned any surfaces and left us some homemade chips that were not fresh, I asked the housekeeper to come and clean she did and sanitized the room with a blower while we were in the room and I started to cough and have a cough now probably from the fumes.
- 5/5
Couples trip. Hotel was clean, great location, close to shopping and restaurants. Hotel also had a restaurant that was open for breakfast and dinner. A bar which was open in the evenings . Staff was was extremely friendly and when we needed more towels they were quick to have them sent to our room. Valet parking attendant Jesus was professional Friendly and quick to get your vehicle for you if needed. Hotel also has an outside pool but needs more lounge chairs.
- 5/5
Great place! Very clean, nice pool, good breakfast and the staff was superb!
- 3/5
The staff was excellent—very helpful and prompt in addressing our requests, such as valet services and the front desk. However, there were a couple of issues: there was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom, and the neighborhood surrounding the hotel didn't feel very safe, with police being called to nearby properties multiple times.

My room stunk like car urine and the carpet was sticky
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 5/5
Centrally located. Short walk to King Street which has great restaurants and shopping. Pool was great. Service was friendly and personable. Clean and modern hotel.
- 5/5
Happy and friendly staff! Comfortable bed and clean hotel!
- 5/5
Very nice staff and location.
- 5/5
All the front desk staff were incredibly helpful, and the rooms were very quiet and clean. Easy to walk to lots of downtown attractions or get picked up by a car from this location!
- 5/5
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The hotel appears new, and was very clean. The onsite valet/parking option was fantastic, and is the least expensive in the area. This is just outside of the main shopping/entertainment area on King Street, but is easily accessible by a short walk. We will stay here again on our next trip to Charleston.
- 5/5
everything was excellent. people were great
- 5/5
It is walkable to City Market by either Meeting or King streets (about 20 - 25 minutes).
- 4/5
Nice hotel with easy check-in process. I asked for a late check-out and was told no because didn't book directly with the hotel. That was a first for me.
- 4/5
Rooms out dated and showing wear. Bed linen was mismatched with a fitted sheet as the top sheet. Could not get comfortable in room. Breakfast Wednesday was late and the attendant was very busy trying to get set up.
- 5/5
Good experience.
- 3/5
Nothing special about this hotel. Almost too far to walk to popular areas but doable if you can handle a 1.5-2 mile walk. Horrible parking. No hotel parking available at all. They only offer valet parking at $35 per day with minimal parking around hotel.
- 5/5
Very close to king street and able to walk to every reservation we had! Very nice and accommodating staff as well!
- 4/5
Hotel was clean in a great location.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The facilities were also lovely and the room was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Great service, modern and contemporary. Convenient location.

- 5/5
Excellent staff and service. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!
- 1/5
overpriced broken shower drain with no he ale very worn
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and wonderful accommodations in the room. Nice and quiet inside the room so we could rest.
- 5/5
Nick was awesome at check in!
- 5/5
The location was a reasonable walk or ride share to destinations at a decent cost.
- 3/5
Staff was amazing, room was clean but the bed was horrid. Huge “dent” on right side made it difficult to sleep much. Bright green light coming from the temperature control made it worse. Whole room was illuminated by it each night. Pool heater was broke so unable to enjoy. No discount or credit offered
- 4/5
Nice new hotel with a friendly staff and a great breakfast restaurant. Wasn’t crazy about the location or the parking charge.
- 2/5
Stayed 3 nights, only used valet parking 1 night, but charged for 3 on check out. Ask for a paper print out of your final bill or you might be in for a surprise!!!!
- 5/5
Great stay! Staff made it 100x better!
- 5/5
Breakfast was meh. Hotel was nice.
- 5/5
Very nice and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable room. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Nice hotel , would stay again!
- 5/5
Very nice room, well located and clean
- 5/5
Andre was a great host!!!
- 4/5
Lots of restaurants in the area. Hotel restaurant had good breakfast.
- 2/5
We were somewhat disappointed with our current stay. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not check in half an hour early even though we called earlier and were told that we would be allowed to check in an hour earlier than the check-in time. However, the limited did hold our luggage while we ventured out. Once we did finally check-in, our room was HOT!!!! The maintenance personnel did come by to look at our thermostat. We were given a roundabout answer as to why the room temperature was not coming down. We were talked to like children and their explanation never proved why we could not lower the thermostat. We ended up requesting 2 fans during our stay and were not given the opportunity to swap rooms. During our breakfast, the staff played personal music in the kitchen and was heard cutting up and acting very unprofessional in their discussions. Just a few positives to note - The staff was overall friendly but not helpful and the hotel appeared well-kept.
- 1/5
I had an extremely disappointing experience at The Limited in Charleston. The room was far from clean – hair in the bathtub and on the floor, noticeable stains in the bathtub. The HVAC system was outrageously loud, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, the staff was unhelpful. Overall, a regrettable stay that fell far below expectations.
- 5/5
Overall the room was in great condition. The hook on the bathroom door was missing.
- 4/5
We spent three nights here, Wednesday through Saturday morning. The hotel was not crowded until Friday night. The location is convenient, near numerous restaurants, the Visitor' Center and the museum. It's an easy walk to the older sections of the city.
- 1/5
Martina was fabulous!!!! The stay was awful! AC didn’t work and we were given a box fan that gave little help. No AC for the 3 nights we were there and no other compensation. Terrible experience.
- 5/5
Staff friendly & helpful as usual :)
- 5/5
Loved staying at this hotel. Well worth the $
- 5/5
Great location and friendly front desk staff!
- 5/5
They were able to accommodate early check in with ease and without hassle, our room was very clean and comfortable. Would recommend staying here.
- 3/5
The hotel was walking distance to king street that had several restaurants and bars. The hotel location was across the street from a convenience store that had a clientele that just hung out and seemed a bit sketchy. The rooms were worn.
- 2/5
Other than the woman valet who parked my car, everyone else was impersonal and definitely not overly friendly. However the lady valet driver was excellent! It was going to be over $1000 to add one additional night stay, and this room didn’t even have free bottles of water in the room. This the first time that I have stayed in a Bonvoy Marriot hotel and NOT loved it.
- 5/5
We loved our stay. The updates to the hotel are great. Comfy beds, spacious rooms and very clean. Great on-site amenities. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful from the front desk, valet, restaurant/bar and housekeeping. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Outstanding location. Very close to upper King St.
