    The property was under construction while we stayed here. I felt taken advantage of because of this. Any other place we could have stayed didn’t have the noise or displacement we felt. I still paid full price for a property that wasn’t a complete product that I paid for. Construction ALL day, maybe a couple hours of no construction while we stayed. That should have been reflected in what was charged. We would have stayed somewhere else for the same price. I hope corporate reads this as I am a fan, I just think I was duped for quality of stay vs a property under construction.

    Wish there’d been more variety on breakfast menu- or try and offer continental breakfast. As it was a bistro- not a restaurant- evening food was ok. Enjoyed hamburger and club sandwich. Was disappointed in ‘partial view’ room. Tree right in front (roads seen easily). and side view was basically part of next balcony and a tiny bit of marina.

    The pros: The shuttle was the best part of the hotel. The drivers were excellent and kept things moving. The actual hotel room was pretty clean, except for the balcony coverd with winter debris. All in all, not a place I'd stay again. Instead, I'd go across the street to the Hilton.

    For the price of this hotel, I was expecting it to be top-notch. From our “water front view” we got mostly a view of construction trash. In the parking garage, there was a whole section cordoned off that just held hotel extras (chairs, etc) but it was completely unorganized and looked like a dump site for hotel staff. Cement was chipped and dirty…all in all a disappointing stay for the price I paid.

    I booked this hotel based on the pool. When we got there, it was drained. There was no notice stating it was not in service at time of stay. Other area hotels had their pools open at the time of stay so I had no reason to think otherwise. This hotel is also under construction and there was also no notice stating that as well. There are dehumidifiers lining the hallway and the new wallpaper is falling off the hallway walls. We also accidentally left an outfit hanging in the closet and it couldn’t be found even though they have a lost and found just for this situation.

    Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable musty, mildew-like odor that appeared to be coming through the air vents and persisted throughout the stay. This created an uncomfortable environment and suggested potential underlying issues with the HVAC system or moisture control. For a hotel operating under the Marriott name, this was disappointing and not in line with the level of quality one would anticipate. Overall, I would rate this stay as closer to a 2-star experience due to the condition of the room. I hope management addresses these concerns promptly, as the issue significantly impacts guest comfort and perception.

    Our final day: power outage!! (Several blocks lost power, including the nearby hospital). Guests were being entitled and arguing, but mgmt and front desk staff handled it with grace. We will return and look forward to the pool being open when we come back!

    The staff member checking in was EXCELLENT. The room was noisy throughout the night and we heard numerous doors slam that woke us up. It was also a bit cold in the room. Room was clean. We didn’t sleep very well.

    1 of the queen beds seemed to have a bit of a support issue on the left side in room 328. Bed might have even been a bit sloped down on that side. Ordered a full egg breakfast with eggs over easy. Eggs were raw on top and yolk was cooked on bottom. Told the server they were not right and he said "that's how over easy are supposed to be". Actually, over easy done right means no ra white on tip and yolks big and juicy. We only stayed one night so really can't say much more. Nice view if you get a waterfront room. Bar closes at 10p but the girl at the bar says they stop server at 9:45p. That's pretty early and they serve until 10a. There's nothing stopping you from sitting in that area as that's what it's there for. I can't say we would not stay again, just not have breakfast there or use their bar as it has zero ambiance.

The downstairs areas are especially beautiful, and I can imagine the pool area being fantastic during the summer months. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed the atmosphere and location. With the ongoing updates, this hotel has a lot of potential and will likely be even better once renovations are complete. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, which was not mentioned online prior to our stay. While it’s great to see updates in progress, there were construction materials and work happening in some of the hallways that made parts of the hotel feel a bit cluttered. The room itself had been updated with fresh paint and hardwood floors, but the ceiling showed some cracking, and the bed was somewhat squeaky and could benefit from an update. There is also a noticeable marsh smell, particularly in rooms without a balcony, where there isn’t an option to open windows for fresh air. While this didn’t bother us personally, it may be something future guests would want to be aware of when booking.

    Ok amazing view and hotel..... Had the corner unit with double balcony water view. But however my stay was miserable... The person Or person's above me open the heavy sliding glass door starting around 4/5 pm and stopping around 2/3 consistently ooveer a hundred times times... Open close slam. Open close slam. I suggest with thee price that's paid for these rooms. Y'all remove these old heavy load doors and install newer light smoothly operating doors ... I will never stay here again because of this ... And honestly would probably stay once a month just because of how amazing the view is and convenience of the location is to Charleston market...

    The shuttle service was very convenient. We just had to walk downstairs to get the shuttle and then for pick up we just had to call. The waterfront pick up is central in the town.” There was coffee provided in the restaurant part of the lobby which was nice . The restaurant and Starbucks there was also convenient.

    The room was clean but TV didn’t work, there was NO shower pressure and it would cut in and out turning cold and hot randomly. I called ahead of time to confirm they had a hot tub and was told they did. This is WHY we booked here in the first place. When we arrived it was broken and gave no indication of it being fixed. We told them about the issues in our room and it was never addressed.

We actually ended up eating at the Bistro because there was a gluten free dairy free option. Which brings me to the morning staff and chef - wow- so accomadating! The chef made certain our food was cooked in oil not butter and understood foods that had gluten and served us a substitute without asking (so thoughtful and impressive). He even came to the table to check on us with smile and cheerful laugh. What a great way to start our day!

My two concerns are of a walk from downtown Charleston if you like to walk or run. And, I had a rental bike and really struggled to find somewhere to put it. They don’t have any bike racks. But a bike here is fabulous to get you everywhere you need to go. I rented an ebike from a place in Mount Pleasant.l and was able to get over to Sullivan Island and the Isles of Pine, over the walkable bridge et al

    Staff very friendly and accommodate. Love they have shuttle to and from hotel to downtown Charleston. Room was ready early and staff communicated well. Jacuzzi looked unclean and the water was fairly cold. I felt the premises were not kept up as a previous stay. Worst was the was no hot water in the morning for showers. We left the water running for at leat 15 minutes, felt we should get that for the price they charge.

    It was great. Exactly what I needed for a business trip. It's in an odd location but it's close to the freeway and not far from a grocery store. Wasn't able to check- in early but the front staff assisted in helping me out and getting me a place to change before my meeting started.

    Would have been a wonderful stay except for the fire alarm-defective alarm-go off at midnight! Then we went down the stairs to the parking area and the door was locked! We went back up to the lobby and went out the lobby door there-thank goodness there wasn’t a fire in the lobby! It was the second time the alarm went off and then it happened again a couple days later!!

    I booked this location just to find out upon arrival to the front desk that there were no available rooms. Instead of being helpful, the front desk attendant was very curt and dismissive. At other Marriott locations, staff have always been very attentive and pleasant to deal with even when things aren't going right. Kelsea was the front desk attendant that really gave a bad attitude to the location. Being front desk is your first impression of the hotel. I'm local and work at MUSC, sending many vendors to this hotel to stay in the past and will be considering other locations for the future based on this experience. Jeremy was the manager at the time of this issue and did not come out either to assist or explain the situation. From both individuals, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of empathy, helpfulness, or general welcoming attitude and will thus be sending business elsewhere. In the future, I would suggest if this happens, to have management come and explain the situation in a polite manner, or at the bare minimum have the front desk attendant be more pleasant and empathetic to deal with.

The pool and surrounding area were very clean and had great views of the marina and surrounding areas. Bistro menu, food , service should be upgraded stay at current prices. Ridiculous to pay $32.00 for a full caesar salad and $6.00 for a prewrapped chocolate chip cookie. Just ridiculous. Parking should be $5-$7.00 per day based on how busy hotel is and having to park covered or uncovered parking.

    The staff was unfriendly. The room was dirty. The outlets didn’t work so there was no way to charge devices. Constant doors slamming and banging through the night from the staff. Complete disregard for people staying there. Our toiled leak all over the bathroom floor. To top it off there was construction going on apparently cause we were woken up (from the very little sleep we did get) from drills and jack hammers below our room. With no warning or signs of such going on. If you hate yourself and don’t need rest. This is the place for you! Otherwise avoid this place at all cost. You’ll thank me for it.
