Francisco Grande Hotel and Golf Resort

This property is a classic! It may be a little long in the tooth, but that’s part of the charm. My wife and I spend the night here once a year to celebrate an anniversary. We stay in the penthouse suite. Our favorite suite is the Pat Boone suite. We absolutely love it there! And the food is excellent!

Nice hotel. Beautiful views.Room decor and appliances could definitely use an update. Food was great. Pool and jacuzzi was a plus.

I love this hotel, it was hidden gem I never knew about. Outdated a bit but that part of charm to me, especially learning its history. Staff is really friendly and rooms are clean.

Better gym and the property needs a bit of an upgrade!

The place is way outdated. Our room was ok, at best. The curtain sheer was ripped, spider webs in the corners, the a/c had to be repaired and the shower knob was broken then repaired. The place has lots of history. The pool was nice. All the furniture needs updated. The restaurant and bar were the highlights.

Came in after dark and it was not well lit up, I wasn't sure I was even at the right place. A really nice older oasis resort. The motel part could use many updates due to its age, but over all it was a lovely place.

Very welcoming staff. The rooms and property are dated and could use a facelift, but that's also part of the charm. Very interesting history for baseball fans (especially the San Francisco fans). The bar and restaurant are great. If you are looking for an out-of-the-way, unique experience, this is it.

We loved our stay at the Francisco! It is such a nice retreat from the city. The rooms and bathrooms are big and the beds are comfortable! The restaurant on the grounds has great food. It was an older hotel, clean but we had a bug probclem in our room. Had to kill several crickets.l It's kind of far out of town. When we checked in we asked about golf, but they didn't offer any perks for tlhat. Later when I went play golf I was treated like anyone else even though I was a guest at the resort.

The sink water didnt go down for approximately 30 mins after using sink to brush teeth or wash hands. Shower water pressure was beyond lacking. Stains on carpet. The Staff was courteous though.

It was farther out of town than anticipated when I reviewed it on the map. It’s an older property that’s been well loved and could really use a re-fresh however the view’s from the balcony make it a nice little oasis in the desert.

There's not a lot to do in Casa Grande, but the people are friendly and the neon light park is cool. We were there to bring our daughter to Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich Ranch about 35 mins south of the hotel. That is not to be missed. You'll have a blast even if you don't have kids!

This property is very very dated. Not well kept. There were bird droppings all over, that were finally swept up when we were leaving. Additionally the toilet was not working in our upgraded room and the water was shut off in the hotel. There is also no heat in the building. On a up note the staff was friendly especially in the restaurant.

The hotel turned off the heater and its freezing outside and there was a storm. They gave us a tiny space heater that was totally inadequate. We froze the entire time. What cheap a-holes. The bar and restaurant are very nice. Food and drinks are excellent. All the employees that we have had interaction with were very pleasant and helpful. Golfing was fun, but the course needs a little work. The rooms are a bit tired, but that wouldn't stop us from staying here again.

Stay was medium neither fantastic or terrible. Just average. There were not enough outlets in the room, beds were hard, the thermostat did not adjust, it just blew cold air and would no heat. Room service staff was great but the QR code in the book didn’t work so the staff had to read the menu over the phone. Had to order room service delivery for my coffee since the coffee maker in the room didn’t work. Like I stated before it was just average except for the staff. Every single employee we encountered was wonderful!!! It was a pleasure to meet them.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were very clean. My only complaint is the air conditioning did not work and it was difficult to sleep. I was told the air-conditioning is turned off during the winter months. This would’ve been acceptable, except the doors cannot be left open at night due to lack of screens. Otherwise, a very great place to stay.

Room was clean and comfortable but the whole resort reminded me of an aging movie star past her prime. Lobby was so-so and I was so disappointed to come out of the elevator on the 6th floor to cement and an outside entrance to the room. Would rather have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

Sliding door did not slide - came off track. Need bigger TV Heat was hit or miss - didn’t warm up until early morning - had it set over 80 degrees Heating unit was very VERY loud Windows on side unit were very dirty a needs cleaning. No blankets available for pull out bed. Asked for another and it never was delivered :(

Rooms were hot as AC obviously has some issues. Also, noted on other reviews. Key cards didn't work half the time for room and ice area. I had a packaged shipped there via UPS they said they couldn't find but after pressing them to look harder they found it.

We wanted to enjoy our stay, growing up in the area it was one of the fancy places. Unfortunately we must have got them at a bad time, none of the ac's in the rooms we had worked. The door and sliding doors weren't sealed, so on top of the ac's not working they were trying to cool a room with warm humid air making them work overtime. Also because of the door and sliding door not being sealed there were black Beatles dead all over the floor by the entrances. I would go back and try again, because I know the hotel has awesome fold and history, but this was an all round bad experience. I hope they get these issues resolved.

It is located near my daughters' home. We wanted to hang out by the pool on mothers' day. Myself, mother, daughter and ten year old grandson. There were water beetles swimming by the steps into the pool. The water was cloudy, dirty,full of dirt and leafs. I was told the pool is cleaned once a week. We did not let the grandson swim.

Beautiful view of the property from every room. The elevator has a mind if its own at times and the pool area jacuzzi not heated. Golf Course was in good condition and worth playing for the price. Dukes bar and staff the best. 😁

Stayed for the night. My son had baseball tournament in Maricopa, 25 minute drive to town. Nice quiet area, it's mostly a golfing resort. Rooms nice and roomy, bed comfy, nice golf club views, friendly staff. Restaurant at hotel was good. Older hotel but was fine for our stay.

Older property. Bed needs to be replaced as you rolled to the middle. Needs a little TLC in places - repaint in places in the room and sprucing up the elevators. Overall we had a good experience.

The AC did not cool the room. It was 77 degrees when I got up at 5am. The TV is in the lower compartment of the wall unit and you cannot see it from the bed.

What really shines here is the staff. Every single encounter was positive and friendly. They work hard to keep the guests accommodated and their resort clean and comfortable. Property is older. Rooms and common areas are very clean, linens are good quality and clean. The furniture is serviceable, somewhat updated. Beds could be better.

The A/C blew hot air instead of cold air. The shower knob (the pull knob to turn on the shower head) prevented the water to rotate to hot water making the shower more on the cold side than warm side.

Unique and the entire staff was exceptional. Food and service at restaurant was excellent. Remote location but not in an relaxing way. Great if you plan to golf but not much else.

The property is in desperate need of updating. At the Very High weekend rate we paid I did expect furnishings and tv from this decade or even this century. If you like the Original vibe you will love this place. If you appreciate new beds, pillows and tvs larger than 20" this is Not the place for you.

A/C is also not as cold as it should be for arizona, room service closes before 9pm so if you need any extras make sure to call before they leave. Tv is so small and sunken in to the cupboard that you have to sit indian style infront of it or scoot the chair super close to hear and see a decent show.

The hotel staff were absolutely amazing and very professional. The rooms are in need of some repair work. Our door to the room was difficult to open as was the patio door and need to be fixed. The carpet in the room is stained and damaged and needs repairing. The food at the restaurant was great, we ate several meals there and again the staff was amazing. We would stay there again.

I would have rated my stay higher, but being an older hotel, more care is needed to ensure rooms are clean. My grandkids had bites on their arms and legs after sleeping in the bed one night.

Liked that the soccer fields were on the grounds. Very convenient. Pool was very nice.

The history of this place is awesome. HUGE pool and neat building. The room however was very HOT. And in the summer here in AZ that is just uncomfortable. I adjusted the AC and the room did not change in temp one bit.

First, Francisco Grande is in the middle of nowhere. You’ll see the lone hotel in the distance as you drive towards it. I was a little confused when I arrived because there were no visible signs showing the name of the hotel. Your GPS will take you directly to the front desk reception area, but more signage would be helpful. The hotel sits on the edge of a golf course, and offers peaceful views from the balcony. The hotel decor looks a little dated, however; the rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant was nice and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The hotel receptionist was also very friendly. I don’t know if I’ll ever be passing through the city of Casa Grande again, but if so, I’ll definitely stay here again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We met family there the first night to eat at the restaurant and didn’t realize that the kitchen was about to close. They sat us right down and didn’t have any problem with us. We definitely will be staying there again.

Customer service was excellent. Staff very friendly and accomodating. We loved the location and the beautiful views. The hotel is older and could use some updafing. The bathroom door is a heavy slide door that squeaks loudly. We believe this is what kept us from sleeping well at night, but not sure. It may have been the plumbing, but, in any evenr, it was loud and disturbing. It seemed to go on throughout the night. For this reason, we will not stay again. It"s too bad because otherwise, we liked this place. The room did not have a micro or fridge and given that it is several miles to the nearest store, both would've been nice.

Great stay

It was great from the moment I arrive friendly and verry helpful staff made sure all my needs were met, beautiful rooms ex suite are amazing folks! Food (yummy) hands down one of the best experience I've had in a hotel .. and I am definitely going to be a repeat customer

The place is beautiful although it is quite aged. It is clean and the grounds are well maintained. It needs some updates, but overall it is a nice place to stay. I think you’ll find it charming and rather serene.

Just an overnight stay. The hotel was in great condition. The restaurant/bar was small but cozy. Food and service were good. Grounds were well kept. The only complaint I have was the odor outside. there are some nearby farm field and the fertilizer smell was strong.

its was further than I thought but that was me not doin research alos aparently booked my room twice and had someone trying to get in my door at night

It’s out of town and the view from the top floors of the tower are awesome . Summertime on the top floor balcony!!!

I have stayed here 3 times and have generally been satisfied. Most recently, the hotel contacted me before my stay to inform me that they were having an intermittent water pressure issue (appreciated). Upon checkin, the desk agent (who was eating lunch behind the desk- not professional) told me again about the issue and rather directly told me not to plan to stay the night and then complain about it the next day. A bit taken back, I asked her if I would be able to shower, just with reduced water pressure. She replied that I would be able to shower without issue and provided instructions for avoiding the water pressure problem. The next morning, I awoke to shower only to find that I just didn't have water beyond a drip from the shower head. I followed their instructions 2-3 times and the issue did not improve the water quantity. Taking a sink/sponge bath is not what i had in mind. I know the issue is beyond their control, but I don't feel like they were honest about the severity of the problem. I really could have done without their condescending comments at check in, as i'm not the kind of person that wants something for nothing. I'm not looking for any compensation, I just hope this place gets their act together because it is a property that has a lot of potential if the proper updates are made to the rooms and furnishings.

Downsides: There is a dairy/cattle feed lot near by - you can smell it at times The hotel is a little older [up keep is great], I did not have a USB charging station

Not a good stay. For those of us who have been to this "resort", this was very disappointing. As for things that were poor, it's too many to list. Start to finish. Management should indicate to the public as to current conditions of resort amenities, (no golf) and kitchen under renovation. You could see it in the faces of the employees when they have to come back and tell you " we don't have this" or "we ran out of that". Upon check out, two ladies behind the counter didn't even acknowledge my wife and I as we walked out.....Luggage in hand. Probably best they didn't. I may have dumped my bucket. Not sure where the 8 million dollar renovation went, (As listed in your home page), however it would behoove management to focus their attention on customer service for now. Let the public know ahead of time before making a long drive to an iconic establishment.

too far from everything around. not a resort. in middle of desert. will never stay again

The boys soccer teams were on the same floor we were. Screaming, language omg, shutting doors, at midnight. Called and security came up. Still loud and awake at 1:30am with doors opening/closing loudly. Worst night ever! Woken up at 5:30am, yelling we’re are my shorts? Need signs, quiet 🤫 from 9pm-9am.
