Found our spot in Carolina Beach. This place was wonderful. Loved the view, coffee bar, and gathering areas including fire pits. We will definitely be coming back!

Clean rooms right the ocean

The pool area was welcoming and the walk to the beach was very convenient. Relaxed and well appointed areas for seating at the end of the hotel before the beach access. Our room had a very nice refrigerator, but no microwave. (In room Keurig coffee maker was nice, but you may want your own pods - the “house” pods were “meh”).

This is a very cute and very clean little hotel, steps from the beach. The pool was a bonus too. My only complaint was that the walls were a little thin and unfortunately, we had some loud neighbors. Overall, we loved it and would go back!

This hotel was a gem. The newly renovated property was just beautiful. The hotel is located in a quiet, less crowded area. The ocean was so close that a short walk from a board walk directly on the property would get you in the surf. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed stay at the beach.

Great, but need cartons on windows

This property was recently renovated from top to bottom and was very well done. Everything was of a high quality. It was very clean, decorated nicely and has a great location on the beach with a pool. The rooms were spacious and well thought out. Everything is within a short distance. Room costs were very reasonable. Nothing comes to mind. Suggestion, There could have been more outlets in the room or cell phone charging ports.

This place was absolutely beautiful. It was very nicely renovated. I will definitely go back if I have the chance.

They had a Keurig in the room and a nice sized TV though. There is a view of the ocean but nowhere to sit and watch the waves roll. Air-conditioning was a bit loud but it worked well. The coffee mechine at the front was cool with a bunch of options, as well as a water/ice mechine. Beds were soft and had plenty of lights. Pool looked nice and clean with nice chairs. When we tried to check in they advertised that it was a 3pm check in but we had to wait about 40 minutes to check in due to them being understaffed. All the staff that were there though were super sweet and kept checking up on us while we waited for the front desk lady.

Private beach access and pool area is clean. The rooms were nice and updated. This was a great place to stay. If we come back we will consider staying again.

Property was very clean and well maintained. Rooms were decorated nicely. Although it was a pet friendly hotel there were no signs of pet hair or odors. Great location and easy access to the beach. The only thing I would recommend is taking a sleep mask since there are bright lights outside of the windows and no curtains to close.

Needs improvement: mattresses too soft; reception guy needs a customer service training-very cold and dismissive, not welcoming.... Great stay otherwise!

The recent renovation gives the place a very modern feel. They did an excellent job transforming the old motel rooms into cozy, contemporary spaces with a nicely updated bathroom and shower. They even managed to fit a small sofa into the room. (The only slightly odd thing was that the table was bolted to the floor and couldn’t be moved.) The A/C worked very well. The outdoor fire‑pit area and the pool are both very clean and inviting. The location is great—we easily walked to the boardwalk area or to Kure Beach. Overall, it was a very good experience, with the only downside being that there are no balconies.

They have a refrigerator that is larger than the typical dorm fridge They have everything you need, shampoo and conditioner, bath soap. We are an older couple, we will request a room on first floor. It was rough taking the luggage upstairs to third floor , husband was very short of breath. We will definitely book again.

We had bathroom issues. The diverter in the tubbthat switches water flow to the shower head did not work properly so we had weak shower flow. And after spending considerable money on the motel refresh, the grout on the bathroom tile was moldy or mildewy. Ick. The pool was nice and the outside chairs were comfy. The outside shower placed conveniently by the walkway from the beach was a nice touch. We had a good time, but the resort just didn’t nail down all the issues to make the stay flawless. But you cant beat tje location. We would consider it again.

Place is cute/well done, but bring an eye mask otherwise you won’t sleep. They leave every wattage of exteriors lights on all night, and the window shutters in the rooms (as nice and charming as they are) don’t black out the light, so our room was lit up like a UFO was beaming us up all night. Also, they say “ocean view” rooms. Take that with a grain of salt. It’s partial at best, and only if you stand right at the window and crane your neck.

The room was super cute and clean. It is located directly on the beach so its literally feet from the ocean. It was very quiet and peaceful Only negative thing to say was that we didnt have a microwave in our room. They do offer one in the lobby. Our room was spotless and the hotel had plenty of amenities for a great short beach weekend.

Excellent location for beach access. Rooms and property are very clean and the staff was extremely accommodating. I would stay here again if in the area.

The only thing we didn't like was the rooms do not have microwaves, there is a microwave in the lobby area which is fine when the lobby is open, but since it closes at 8 you can't use the microwave any time after that.

What they did with the place since my last stay in 2023. They completely rebuilt it in 2024. That all of the area beaches only had parking that you had to pay for. No free parking. It's the off season. Not that many people or things open but you still had to pay for parking. I am a photographer. 8 was looking for things to photograph. Not spending the day at the beach. The parking at my hotel was included. There were large pipes on the beaches and heavy equipment. Don't know what they were doing. I heard they are putting in a toll road soon so I am not likely to go back. The hotel was awesome ?

The pool was closed, they did not have beach cruisers, the office was closed from 5 PM to 9 AM and you couldn’t get to the espresso machine so it felt like false advertising. They have stated they would issue a partial refund but I haven’t see it yet. However, the hotel and rooms and grounds were very nice. Customer service not so much.

Sadly, as perfect as this property and check-in was, we were very disappointed that the pool and fire pits were not available. This was a trip we had planned with our granddaughter for a few months now and mainly because of the pool. If we had known it would not be open, we would not have chosen this hotel. With it being Spring Break and especially seeing other hotels with their open pools, we aren’t sure why this happened. Also, the fire pits were unusable and when we went to inquire, the staff had left for the night. For such a beautiful property, please do better with your amenities for other families who may be coming from afar. We traveled from Virginia.

The room was very clean! Bathroom was spotless! Bed was very comfortable! Staff was accommodating! The view was perfect! Easy to get to the beach. A bit of a distance from restaurants. No microwave in the room. I was on the 3rd floor. No elevator. All water and ice machines are on the 1st floor. Those last 3 are my only real complaints. Not the end of the world! I will definitely be back!

The proximity to the beach, the cleanliness of the room and the overall appeal of your site made for a memorable stay. It was particularly pleasing to have a roaring fire displayed on the tv just waiting for us when we checked in! Thank you again for all the attention to the small details that made our stay perfect.

The hotel was great. Wished the pool area was open even if it was to just use the lounge chairs. Also, in the pictures it looks like there is a deck to sit on by your room but there is not. Lots of great places to eat and shops to go to.

At the time of our visit there was no microwave . there was a spot for it though. management said they were on order but not received yet. we went to walmart and bought a cheap one for $35. we were staying a while and like the convienience of having one.

It was amazing! The front desk and GM staff were so friendly and helpful! The location was wonderful, the room was spotless and the beds were SO comfortable! Parking was easy but we were there in March in “off” season so I could imagine that lot would be completely full in summertime. 100% would stay here again! Thanks! Nothing

As a travel site hotel, if you book through phone end, it won’t show that they stop checking in at 6 and no reply of neither phone or text, if you are can’t arrive this place before 6, this could be the worst place you can ever reserve for the trip. We arrived in our hotel at 11pm and there was sand in the bedding, enough to make us think the bedding had not been changed in between stays. Since staff is only there until 6pm we had no one there to address the issue. We emailed the hotel and received no response.

Lovely updated boutique beachfront hotel. We enjoyed the nice amenities, fluffy towels and well done room decor. It’s off season so the staff was not as available but we had a great time. Can’t wait to use the new pool too. Thanks again. We look forward to returning.

A pleasant family-type hotel; reasonably priced and right on the beach. The rooms appear to have been renovated recently and far nicer than what you typically get in hotels of this type. There is no elevator and access to rooms is external. So you will need to request a room on the first floor if access is an issue.

This is a wonderful place!! We stayed 4 nights. It was so clean, bed was very comfortable, friendly staff and a nice pool. I have to say the manager was so friendly and she was working so hard right along with her staff. Will definitely stay here again

The room did not have curtains, only interior shutters that allowed a lot of light in at night. The mini fridge also puts off a lot of light since the entire door illuminates. The AC wasn't adjustable. The facility was new and well stocked, but these issues made it difficult to sleep and we left feeling drained.

The staff was nice but I was not aware that the hotel did not have an elevator my friend who has a brace on his leg who has knee problems made it very uncomfortable he had to walk up and down up down the steps. They did not have bottom levels available and when I went into the room the room did not have a microwave nor did the lobby. We had to eat out every single day the although cute was very small. I was charged double on Saturday to my surprise and no staff was able to explain I booked through Expedia they tried to get my refund back and considering I paid over 240 a night it was not worth the stay. The only up side was it was on the beach. One a scale to 1-10 I will give staff a 10 they were friendly but my stayed I rate a 6

Sweet little boutique hotel recently renovated with lots of high-end touches, pool, and direct beach access. No breakfast available, but a killer barista-quality coffee maker in the lobby when the lobby is open. Would suggest that maybe the coffee machine be put in a card access area for early risers seeking caffeine!! Outside of that...no complaints, and would highly recommend this lovely hotel!

We loved our stay here. The renovation back to Mid-Century Modern vibe and decor is excellent. Nice size refrigerator, good quality linens, and Keurig coffee maker among in-room amenities. Staff is responsive and professional. Can't wait to go back!

I liked how close we are to beach. I don’t like how we had to wait until 5pm to get into our room. It was thundering and lightening so we were literally in the hallway for shelter. Also false advertising, there are no chairs to take on beach and no food market at hotel like it’s mentioned on website or welcome email. You have to rent your chairs through a service and it is not included. I thought the cleanliness of room was very good, unfortunately did see a roach on my pillow when I moved it in middle of the night. Overall very upset. As I have a 1 year old and I’m pregnant. There’s no bathroom to change or use bathroom until you go in your hotel room.

I loved the retro yet updated vibe of this newly renovated hotel. Classic, upscale elements - no kitsch. I stayed in a beautiful king room that had the shortest walk I have ever had to the beach - even for a beach front property. The pool has been refurbished and is amazingly clean. The pool area has white lounge chairs and blue and white beach towels are provided. It's a small hotel but I totally enjoyed not struggling to find a parking space or waiting for the elevator. This place screams boutique (fitness area and coffee bar in the lobby) and I will definitely be coming back to the Oceaneer!

Only 2 cons to the hotel. 1st no elevator for the top floors but that wouldnt keep me from staying again. We actually booked for next yr already. 2nd is the pool closes at 8pm. If you are on the beach, shopping or fishing, most likely you dont get a chance to enjoy the pool. But not a deal breaker for us.

Our stay at the Oceaneer was fantastic. We only came for one night but it was so convenient and close to the beach. We have a car and the parking was easy, but it is a little farther from the boardwalk/shops and such where you have to pay for parking so I would recommend staying closer to the boardwalk if you want to avoid paying for parking everywhere. They do have bikes at the front but it was wayyyy too hot for that. Beautiful, clean, perfectly renovated hotel. The pool is so relaxing and lots of chairs to lay out. I will be coming back here next time!!

Our family loved this place! At first I didn’t think it was going to be nice since it was a motel, but it was stunning and everyone was so friendly!

The facility recently opened after an extensive renovation. Excellent in every way! I’ve never stayed directly on oceanfront and I’ll never do otherwise. The price was great! Very nice staff. Very impressed. Great location in a quieter area. No problems to drive and park for dinner. No parking fees charged after 8 pm.

The pool was very clean and well kept. Pool towels were readily accessible and with fewer guests on this property, it was a calm and quiet pool. The walk to the beach is right in the backyard and absolutely beautiful. In mid July it was perfect weather and never overcrowded. The locals are welcoming and friendly. Minutes from great scenery, a fishing pier, aquarium, great eats (Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar) and even an arcade. My stay was three nights and I will go back to The Oceaneer next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend.

(Our only small challenge was the super gushy mattress. We just personally prefer a firmer sleep situation. But that’s not a make or break for us.)

Great surprise stay right on the beach, we recommend this Motel the had their reopening and did not disappoint, clean rooms and excellent customer service!

Loved all the the new updates to the hotel. Very chic, beautiful and comfortable rooms. The location was great and the access to the beach and pool was amazing. Just a couple of notes that would have made our stay excellent: We got back one night around 11pm and there was no parking for us. The front office was locked and noone was working. There were 3 cars that did not have a visible parking pass. With it being advertised as parking is included, they should ensure there are enough spots for their customers. Other than that, we also never had room service come by our room during our stay. But everything else was great!

Newly remodeled, the location is great with beach access and a pool. Our room was newly furnished but the bed corner on my side next to the bathroom kept poking my leg (causing a cut). No closet with a door. Good room condiments ( coffee etc). No soap dish in shower. No tub. TV was up to date. Phone couldn’t reach front desk. But we enjoyed the location.
