Hampton Inn & Suites Carolina Beach Oceanfront

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful, view was directly to the ocean, and breakfast was good and different every morning.

The breakfast was not the best, oversalted or stale. The waffle, yogurt and cereal were ok though. Our hotel room was pretty dingy and we were told we would get room service only every other day but they didn't come once.

I loved that we could walk to the beach or walk to the restaurants and didn’t have to take our car out once. Hotel was clean and staff was helpful. Breakfast was really nice as well.

This property is in a great location. And the staff is extremely kind and very nice and helpful. I did feel for the amount of money that we spent. The room could have been cleaner and a little bit more upgraded for upwards of $400 a night. The pool area is not as large as appears to be online, and because the tiki bar at the pool area and the fire pit have public access and if you are in a beachfront room you will hear what is going on out on the boardwalk, as well as the tiki bar and fire pit and how it closes at about 10:30 11:00 p.m.

Need to leave a sheet of information regarding. Internet access and how to use the tv- also make up mirror in bathroom would be nice.

The room had a strong musty odor from the moment we walked in, making it feel damp and unclean. To make matters worse, we found roaches in the room, which is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one charging premium beach rates. The shower was another major issue. The water pressure was so low that taking a shower was frustrating and took much longer than it should have. The beach location is the only reason I'm giving any stars at all. Management needs to address the cleanliness, pest control, and maintenance issues immediately. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

Every single person that works at this hotel seems to have ownership mentality. Everybody is just so friendly and probably without knowing it provides surprising delight! There were actually towels at the pool, which was extremely clean, the tiki bar was awesome, the room was very clean and the front desk stuff was so friendly.

Location was great especially the proximity to the ocean and midway. Breakfast was good. Very difficult to open sliding door in room. No bath soap or spare toilet paper was in room when we checked in. Front desk gave me some immediately but I shouldn't have to go get it especially if cleaning crew only comes every other day. Rubber gasket under door needs repair. I had to move it around so I could open door. Nothing left at coffee station to stir coffee and no way to heat up coffee in the afternoon. I don't like that the beach chair/umbrella rental company takes all the prime spots first thing every morning and many times no one even rents or uses the chair. A handicap bar near the toilet would be nice.

Breakfast was amazing!! The tiki bar right by the pool was amazing as well. Right next to all the food and the amusement attraction.

I loved the fact that it’s oceanfront that is if you get an ocean front room like I did The carpet in the hallways seem dated and definitely my bedroom was dated. The beds felt like I was sleeping on a rock not comfortable at all. The curtains had holes in them and part of them didn’t even work.

It’s ocean front and it’s not too old. My shower had some weird things that I used the shower head to get down the drain. It was a walk in shower with shower head and a handheld shower head. It looked like a handicapped room or shower. It had some wear and tear.

We enjoyed our stay and our room! Love that the check in staff was great and amazing! Thank you to Mr. MIKE for allowing us to check in early and to let us pick what floor we wanted to stay in, of course the kids picked the highest on the 7th floor, we loved the fireworks, had an amazing view from our private ocean view balcony! We will be back soon! & SECURITY IS GREAT HERE since you need a key(card) to have access to the building and amenities as in the pool etc.

Watching the Sun from the oceanfront room every morning is like heaven. Access to the beach is great!

Our stay was wonderful! The rooms were clean, the balcony was perfect for the morning sunrises and evenings listening to the ocean. Our one concern of the shower-head not working properly was fixed within a couple hours of letting the front desk know. The morning breakfast buffet had different hot choices each day and all was delicious!! We would definitely stay here again!!

At check in the lady was a little short but everybody has an off day she did what she could she might of have been dealing with an impossible customer earlier but the day was nice. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is awesome. The amenities were clean.

The breakfast is the typical Hampton Inn fare. Had something from each category of breakfast foods. All well heated, frozen preprepared, such as small tin omelets with a cheese inside, thin bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits, and waffles you make from batter.

Very clean. Staff very personable and anxious to help in any way. Breakfast was delicious and had about every option possible. No one should walk away hungry. The 4 hour breakfast service was very convenient too. Second year that I stayed at this hotel and was very happy with both experiences. Would highly recommend this hotel. It is also conveniently located to the beach and boardwalk.

Parking was tight, but there is an overflow lot a half block or so away. We never needed that. We loved the fact that our 7/F room looked directly out beyond the pool and Tiki Bar fire pit onto the ocean. The artwork in the room was to our liking too. The bathroom was well appointed, and the little refrigerator was useful. The lobby was comfortable and attractive. Having stayed in five star hotels with included breakfast, I have to qualify the perfect score on the breakfast, but it was perfectly fine. If you like to walk (a lot) and not only on the beach, treat yourself to the trails at the nearby Carolina Beach NC State Park. Most importantly, we liked the coffee always available in the lobby. Footnote: Restaurants to consider: The Havana, and especially Soul Flavor.

About what you would expect, rating is lower from me because of a billing issue that could have been avoided as well as a pipe running across the beach that makes it difficult for people with accessibility issues, that isn't the hotels fault but maybe prices should be adjusted if the view is going to include a three foot wide rusty brown pipe and a depressed-looking boardwalk. Still better than Myrtle Beach.

Location was great and staff were kind and helpful, however the room itself was not maintained well and had mold and mildew. We almost had to cut our stay short if it weren’t for the can of Lysol we sprayed everywhere and after tying up the curtains. We couldn’t close them due to not being able to breathe when they were shut. I’m not sure if it’s the HVAC or just a general layout of the building is not equipped for the constant wet air. Maybe they can invest in a dehumidifier. Even the tv stand was rotting away.

Super great staff. Great access to the boardwalk and to the beach. Just don’t get excited to have a drink on the beach. It’s not allowed from their outside bar. Would have been nice. Room and view was AMAZING.

The location was great, the room was very clean and the staff was friendly. There was a slight miscommunication regarding extra towels, but that was no big deal. The only complaint is about the parking. We arrived mid-week and it wasn't a problem. However, after spending the day away on Friday, we returned in the evening to no parking. After circling around for 20 minutes we we able to find a spot. Its annoying to pay $10 a day for parking and find none. We asked about it the following morning and were told that there was overflow parking down the block. That's great but I feel that guests should be made aware of that upon check in instead of wandering around frustrated after a long day out. As a suggestion, having some kind of printed information in the rooms about good local restaurants and thing to do and see would be great.

We stayed during the great snow storm of 2026 and had the best time. Our room was a pool view but the front desk helped us change to a balcony on the 6th floor. What a magnificent view. The room and hotel were beautifully kept. We enjoyed breakfast all 3 days. It wasn't elaborate as far as breakfast bars are concerned, but well maintained. We enjoyed the fitness center and the common area. Coffee is fresh and available 24 hrs. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and abolutely excited about the snow event just as we were. Expedia is the worst third party to go to they made rescheduling my room impossible even after I explained it was weather conditions that lead me to the decision to cancel I lost all my money as was told there was no compensation totally disgusting

The room was nice, the staff are excellent. My one complaint was partly beyond the Hampton Suites control: the bar next door was loud with music blaring until 1-2 a.m. and the sound-proofing in the room was poor. Made the stay less than excellent.

Additionally, the bathtub had a rough bottom that protected me from slipping. While I suspect this is meaningless to most, I slipped in a hotel tub when I was 3 months pregnant (the baby and me were fine) and 30 years later continue worrying about slipping again.

This Hampton Inn and Suites was the best place I’ve been to. Very clean, everyone was so friendly, breakfast was fabulous, room was awesome oceanfront. We will absolutely, definitely be back to this place.

The location of the property was great. You will have to pay $10 a day for parking. The front desk staff are wonderful. I did not love the vocation of my room. I was put on the first floor by the pool and there was a lot of speaker directly outside my room that played throughout the day and until 10 PM. I also really wish that the pool was heated or at least they had a hot tub. There is very little to do in the off-season.

Breakfast was very good with many options both hot and cold. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Only complaint is it’s a bit pricey even for the offseason.

We really liked the convenience and the condition of the hotel. We also appreciated breakfast in the morning and the bar and pool on the deck. However, the mattresses were not comfortable. I also didn’t like the coffee in the bathroom and no microwave in the room. Also not specific to the hotel but we saw lots of cockroaches on the boardwalk. All that being said, we would stay again as long as it was only a day or 2.

Celebrated my son’s 18th birthday here. They were so kind from the minute we stepped on property. Room was clean, quiet& cool view of the canal. Being beachfront was a huge selling point for everyone in my family. There is nothing better than having breakfast with a view of the ocean welcoming you to the day.

The hotel's proximity to the beach and the boardwalk is outstanding! Both are accessible in just a few steps.

I was disappointed that there was no computer/internet office on this property as there were in other hampton inns i stayed before.

They said I had to prove a purchase oceanfront and then still made me pay extra. Shower curtain had blood on it.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The tiki bar and firepit are nice touches and one night they had a singer who was really good. The hotel must be well built because you couldn't hear much once in your room. The only negative about my stay was the lack of good restaurants nearby. I did not have a good meal for the three days but that is no fault of Hampton Inn. The restaurants are just not good in this beach town. Its great if you love everything fried and full of salt. A great hotel though!

Wonderful staff.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels, but this is by far the BEST experience I've had. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, my room was clean, comfortable, and well stocked, and the breakfast was really good. I was also pleased with the hotel's proximity to the beach and boardwalk so I didn't have to drive. This has now become my go-to hotel for all my beach trips.

I liked that everything was super close and a walking distance. The hotel though was not as clean as I thought it’d be. Looked like the shower was just rinsed and actually scrubbed. There was orange mold on the shower tiles

Great location

I loved the location of the property. It's beachfront and literally right next to the boardwalk, so very convenient. The rooms were large, clean, and had nice amenities. The continental breakfast was good and I liked that it was available until 10am. The only issue I had was the AC in the room. After complaining that it wasn't working, someone came in and just adjusted it lower, which did not solve the problem, so we had to sleep in a hot room that night. The next day was more troubleshooting and finally we just got the whole unit replaced.

A few of the negatives: Parking was limited. We had a room for 6 and there was only 1 towel hook in the bathroom. Our sliding glass door to the balcony was very difficult to open and close.

Bed was a bit soft. And bathroom floor flooded with each shower. Not sure why unless shower curtain too short allowing wwter to escape tub. And the shower gel container was empty when we checked in and was never replaced. Luckily we had brought our own. But these things were minor and didn’t really affect our stay. The complimentary breakfast is outstanding and staffed by friendly people who are careful to maintain cleanliness and keep area well stocked.

I love this hotel. The breakfast is awesome. The rooms are amazing. Beds are very comfortable. I love the boardwalk and eating places around the hotel.

The beds were very uncomfortable and we were not able to check in until almost 2 hours after normal check in time. Since it was so late to check in we were told we wouldn’t get room service to clean the following day and with 3 kids and 2 adults staying in a room, we ran out of towels and pillows quickly and had to wait a second day for replenishments.

My daughter and I took a trip to the beach for the weekend to relax. Our stay was great, the hotel is in walking distance to lots of great shopping and restaurants. The boardwalk and beach access was right in front of the hotel. The pool and bar was very relaxing. The staff was really nice and the breakfast was a treat every morning. I will be coming back to stay here again.

Perfect location and views of the ocean, all restaurants and fair were just a few minutes walk. Beautiful interior. Pool was nice and good for kids. Good breakfast, not too many seats/tables but upscale design is worth it.

We usually stay at Hampton Inn because we like their beds as they are similar to ours at home and we get a good nights sleep. We walked on the beach and when we got back to the room my husband went to rinse his feet in the bathtub. We noticed a ring around the bathtub and dirt on the edge in the corner. We called the front desk and were told to call and speak to a manager in the morning. When called the manager seemed uninterested and I said at this point we hope the sheets were changed. He said they probably should have been. A housekeeper came and cleaned the tub and said I cleaned this room yesterday and didn’t see that so I don’t know what happened. We stayed at Fairfield Inn the next 2 nights.

Stayed on top floor in King suite with city view. Room was clean, roomy & private. Disappointed there was no balcony to breathe in early morning air. Free breakfast was good.

We love the Carolina Beach Hampton Inn! This was our third year staying there in early May to visit family in the area. We love the hotel, and being right on the ocean and the boardwalk!

However, there were a few areas that could use improvement. The air conditioning in the room didn’t seem to match the set temperature—it felt much warmer than expected. While the staff did recommend some local restaurants at check-in, I would’ve appreciated more information about nearby attractions, like the ferry rides or other activities in the area, especially since I was unfamiliar with the location. The hotel’s communication system, which uses text messaging, was also a bit slow in responding to questions. Additionally, the information provided at check-in could be more thorough to help new guests navigate both the hotel and surrounding area more easily. That said, the hotel’s location is fantastic—very close to the beach and right by the shops along the boardwalk. I definitely plan to return, though next time I’ll likely opt for a weekend stay, as more local spots are open compared to weekdays.

Phenomenal check in Service! This hotel just gets everything right, from plenty of parking available, to wonderful oceanfront view, to something as simple as a convenient nightlight on the bathroom wall. Very clean and spacious, and the breakfast bar was absolutely delicious. Solid five stars here.

We had a room with a balcony facing the water. The view was beautiful. Our room was comfortable. The staff were super friendly. Parking, check-in and check-out was easy. And we could walk to a variety of different shops and restaurants! Great stay!

Everything was perfect including room, patio, pool, location, staff, breakfast. Deserving of separate mention was the coffee in the morning. I generally have to go out out get coffee of any quality and theirs was great!

Age is showing a little bit. Beds could use a refresh as well as plumbing-walls sang very loudly.

The common areas seemed clean and breakfast was nice. Staff was friendly and location was good. Parking was also good. But the room was so unclean i did not even complain because the standard was so low I did not even want them to come revisit. I dont expect beachside hotels to be spotless but dang.

We enjoyed our stay with the Hampton Inn Carolina Beach hotel. The staff were so friendly, professional and courteous from check in to check out. We visited in March so it wasn't over populated. Our stay was quiet and peaceful which is just what we needed. You are on the beach. Plenty of areas to walk the beach or just sit and enjoy. Highly recommend.

Birthday week. Our room was run down. The sliding door would not lock. The shower head was horrible. The room’s carpet was nasty. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy. The whole room needed renovating. Dirty towel was stuffed down at the head of our bed. The cost was too high for the room. If the hotel advertising would have shown me the room we had, I would not have stayed.

Great place to stay. The only down fall is parking and dining is limited. Get there before 6pm to get a park at hotel. Dining around hotel is more pub like dining. Central to everything in carolina and kure beach and fort. Definitely would stay again
