A/C was positioned so it didn’t cook the entire room. The woman who checked me in was rude and dismissive. Nice, spacious room, comfortable bed. Good location.

This is a well maintained older open entry motel that has been refurbished. It is very basic, with a dated bathroom but plenty roomy and CHEAP It was all that I expected so no complaints

I freaked OUT over the general amount of filth and the amount of mold in the bathroom!! I never even put my things down. I took out my phone to take pictures of everything, then literally booked it out of there!! It’s no wonder they don’t show the bathrooms up close in the photos. I am truly astounded by the reviews saying that the place is clean. That piece I cannot fathom. The reviews are why I rented a room there! The only positive is the gentleman that checked me in. He was extremely friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately nowhere to be found just a few minutes later after I left the room and was looking for anyone to speak with. Needless to say, I left, and was forced to spend the night in my car as Expedia couldn’t get me into a different hotel until the next morning.

My mattress was very comfortable, the Wi-Fi was good and the shower is nice and powerful. Amber on reception was very friendly.

The room had been remodeled to include a fresh paint vinyl plank flooring. However, the bathroom shower/tub was moldy, and the front door didn’t lock securely. The walls are paper thin to the point where you can hear full conversations in the rooms next to you. Not great when you have amorous neighbors. The parking was easy since it’s a drive up motel. The front desk staff were very nice. The clientele that frequent the hotel are scary. Would not recommend for a solo traveler and really wouldn’t recommend for anyone.

the staff did all they could to get rid of the cigarette smell in the non-smoking room They were polite and professional In spite of all their efforts there was a strong cigarette smell. No place in the bathroom to lay out cosmetics. Neighbors were live ins. All of them smoked.

I liked the location and the staff. They were friendly and helpful. The flat screen was a nice touch with the ability to access all of my paid subscriptions. The tub was taken out and put in place was a shower from a boys locker room. The heater was facing the wall in another room, so it took all day to get warm. The temperature outside was 26 degrees and there was only a thin blanket to cover up with.

No breakfast or coffee, even. But for the price & the short time we were there all was good, bed comfortable, bath very modest but clean, location excellent for our aganda in Black Mtn. Our "spoiled" granddaughters, ages 6 & 8, who are use to 4 star hotels were not impressed but they were not payingthe bill (lol). They had a clean, comfy bed for the night. No coffee

Nice renovated rooms, clean and comfortable. New sheets on the beds, good bathroom facilities altogether. Loved staying there! Bright lights outside room, even though the blackout curtains made sleep easy.

The Acorn is a really clean, safe motel with the most kind and professional owners/staff! Our whole stay was wonderful, from how comfy the beds are and how clean the room was, to how kind and helpful the owners were to accommodate us! I would 100% recommend this motel to single travelers, couples, or families looking for a safe, cozy, and clean place to stay that is also a great value!

No hot water in the shower. Only the sink. I kept filling the ice bucket in the sink to try to fill the tub, but I gave up. It was only a few days without bathing. No clock.

Parking was easy and secure. Convenient location and close to my dad, retired vet, that I take to the VA for medical appointments when coming to do a wellness check on him. My stay was pleasant, staff were nice, and it was quiet, which I truly enjoyed. The only noise was the traffic on the road. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Would stay again.

It was only an overnight stay, and the room was a bit spartan. However, it was quite clean and everything worked well. One a very minor problem, as noted by others, is that the toilet required a long flush or multiple flushes. My problem is that I forgot to ask for additional towels. I checked in at night and by the time I noticed that I need extra towels, I didn't think anyone would be around who could fulfill that request.

This was a great place to stay for the night so that we could wake up where we wanted to be for the day. The hotel was completely clean and comfortable, and we got a good night's rest. We felt safe and secue. I don't think I would stay here for a long vacation, as it really doesn't have any amenities. BUT, since we only planned to arrive late at night and leave early in the morning, it was great! If you're looking to arrive at Biltmore when then open, this is a great place to stay! Affordable price. Right in the middle of downtown Black Mountain - a charming town.

The inside of my room was nice and so was the bed. The air conditioning was in a weird location making it hard to keep the room cool. Seemed to be a work crew of some kind staying there riding a bus in and out , the manager had his office locked so you rang a bell to get him. I had unsafe vibes from the people there.

This has been my regular place to stay since I have been traveling here for work. The rooms have been recently refurbished and always clean. Black Mountain is a cool small mountain community town with nice shops and restaurants to visit. Asheville is only about 15 minutes away making it well worth it as a place to stay.

Acorn Motel is an older motel ... yet they have kept it updated. Heat/AC unit is a wall mount ... but kept the room warm for me (was 35 degrees when I was there). Room has a lot of room. All necessities were in room (ie: hair dryer, shampoo, soap). They are pet friendly - lots of room to walk dogs (I had 3 with me). Outside was very well lit.

Great place to lay over for a work trip, had room to park with my equipment trailer and staff very helpful

It was an economical one night stay. All was ready and nice. Area rugs on the inside would make it better. Gods value and nice stay

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I'm a travel nurse and The Acorn has become my regular place to stay when it has available rooms. The price is very affordable in comparison to the other establishments with the "Asheville tourist" based room prices. Although it is not in Asheville, it's still really not that long of a drive and quite convenient for my needs. I'll continue to stay here until my contract is done and it continues to be a good financial decision!

This property is a work in progress, under new management for only the past two weeks. Understandably, there is much that needs to be done to upgrade, including installation of an ice machine (in progress), availability of coffee to guests (in progress), and providing WI Fi to guest rooms (in progress). For the exceptionally low price of $70 per night, we could put up with these minor temporary inconveniences. Motel is well-located, rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Everything worked. Manager was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We would return!

Nice place I’d stay there again and affordable.
