Hotel was clean. Internet worked It is not a problem of the hotel; it is simply that Berkeley has a serious social problem with homeless people and drug addicts you can find anywhere. It smells like weed, and you do not feel safe... Breakfast was boring

Location was good. Place was very clean. Morning coffee was great! My AC didnt work and the TV didn’t much either, but weather was perfect so opened a window and all was OK.

The staff was extremely helpful and always available. It was very well kept. Parking was included in the price off the room which was great. 24 hour coffee and comfortable spacious room. Liked the exercise room as well. Really nothing. It fit my needs for my visit.

Location Breakfast was limited. The front office staff was neutral, neither cordial nor welcoming. My room was not clean after having asked for the room to be clean.

This hotel has all the basics and looks like it was a luxury hotel in its day. It also has a pool and a decent breakfast (make your own waffles, yogurt, oatmeal and other cereals, juice, a bowl of different types of fresh fruit to choose from, muffins, bread) and the price was reasonable. The owner was nice about a reservation change I needed to make regarding dates. My sense is that this is a family owned business that is honest and genuinely cares about guests. The location was walkable to decent restaurants (we liked the interesting choices of Asian restaurants and markets) and about a 15 minute or so walk to the Acquatic Park. We enjoyed hiking around the bay in the park, about a mile or two. Tip: If you want a quiet vacation stay, ask for a room that is on the side of the hotel that does not face the parking lot and street. We have experienced rooms on each side and the poolside room was lovely and quiet. We enjoyed the view of the palm tree right outside our window and the birds chirping in the morning. This isn't really a "dislike" but just be aware that breakfast ends promptly at the time they say and the food offerings are slimmer toward the end of the time frame. I am not an earlier riser (particularly on vacation) so I would arrive soon before closing and then was alowed to take my breakfast plate to the pool area where I could finish my breakfast more leisurely. Otherwise, be aware that not only is the food gone at the end of the breakfast window, but also people will be asked to leave the dining area.

I personally did not eat breakfast. other members did & said it was good. Hotel was very convenient to areas we had to visit. Pool area & pool were extremely dirty. We were prepared to use but didn't. Asked for Do Not Distrub hanger from two different staff and never received. Desk staff could of been a little friendlier and weren't always available

The price. There is a pool and the breakfast has waffles. My wife saw two bugs in the bathroom, the woman that checked us in wasnt friendly.

The breakfast, was good, wish they had a little more variety, but overall good. liked the area it was in, big and a lot of tables Come down for my daughter's college graduation and was very disappointed.Front desk service was slow, very slow. One of our rooms had no remote for the TV, there was no complementary soap, shampoo, toilet paper or anything like that in the room. The bed spread was ripped and dirty, we couldn't open any windows, we had a room with 4 adults that had 2 towels and trying to get towels from the maid felt confrontational, as if she was annoyed we were asking for towels. the TV kept losing signal every 5-10 minutes and the wifi was embarrassingly slow. This room was not $89 this room was $227 a night, yet somehow I got $89 worth of a room and I would be lucky if I even got that much in service. Very disappointing.

We picked this location for the proximity to UC Berkeley. Our daughter graduated this past week. The TV didn't work. Extremely small soap (1 bar for 3 people).

Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Bed was Comfortable. Shower pressure was lovely. Lobby was large and clean and welcoming. Staff was pleasant. Location on Main Street and right off the highway. Nearby gas station and well stocked convenience store right across the street. Walking distance to a lot of places. Extra parking in the rear of building. Breakfast hours closed too early. Would have preferred 10 am. Bathroom door was hard to open and close because it stuck to floor. Desk chair was broken and uncomfortable. None of the outlets by our bedside worked (very irritating). We prefer not to have our room serviced, and usually just ask for fresh towels and toilet paper when needed. Yet staff entered our room daily. Took towels one day and did not replace them. Left my bed clothes on my floor one day. Moved our trash cans all around the room to different places. Did not replace liners. Took our paper trash bags that we were using out of our room. Entered our room one day when we were there. Room Service, breakfast hours, and room condition were the things that made us scoff at the over $300 per night rate and had us looking for other places to stay when we are in town (often due to having a child at Berkeley)

Location was good. Didn’t have the amenities we would expect - no luggage stand or hair dryer. Also, the sheets were dirty when we arrived and we needed to ask for the sheets to be changed.

The room had bugs, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable and stressful. Even after leaving, I am still upset about the experience because cleanliness and hygiene are the most basic expectations from a hotel. In addition, the receptionist’s behavior was not warm, welcoming, or helpful, which made the situation even more frustrating. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely not stay here again.

It is nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Everything I needed! No hose on the shower is a major inconvenience. It is hard for women to get to clean using just the showerhead above. The shower is important!

Friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. Straight forward. The rooms, towels and bed sheets had a little ick to them. Old, used, fluff.

The laundry equipment was out of order. The exhaust fan in our restroom didn't work. The free breakfast was poor. No protein.

I was only given a "Do Not Disturb" sign which was printed on both sides the same. I had no "Please Make Up Room" sign. I assume with the absence of the latter, housekeeping would clean my room in my absence. Boy, was I wrong. No sign, no service.

The stay was a great value in a great location. We were able to walk to breakfast, lots of good places to grab food in the area, close to the fwy and close to gas stations. Overall convenient stay. It seemed like they were running a little short on towels, they had to search for some fresh ones for us but it was not too big a deal.

The location is convenient. The room was filthy, I don’t think anything had been cleaned in months except the changing of bedsheets, even then there were black specs on the sheets. The shower had mold, and there were dust lines and debris buildup everywhere on the walls. The mirrors had handprints and streaks all over them, so they clearly weren’t wiped down. Really disgusting room but we arrived late so it was the only option. The hallways smelled musty and the room had a stench. Just horrible
