Good

Solid little hotel with an excellent value compared to other Berkeley properties at the same time of year. I was a bit taken aback at first by the strong smell of Fabuloso and the less than posh surroundings. But the room was very clean with updated flooring and bedding, The hotel is within reasonable walking distance to a Bart station, which made getting around very convenient. There is also free parking if you do have your own car. Nothing fancy - breakfast consisted of coffee, tea and packaged baked goods and soap/shampoo products were cheap quality. Definitely worth considering if you are traveling to the Berkeley/SF area on a budget.

Bed and shower were clean, the mini fridge and microwave worked. Plenty of parking and right off of 80, so easy access for a commuter like me. Overall a decent stay for what you are paying for.

Love it!!!!! Everything is clean, the beds don't make strange noises!!!! You sleep very well! And the best of all that in the middle of the night you wake up and it's quiet, you don't hear a single noise either in the streets or inside the Hotel!

Overall a good hotel , was very clean and the mini fridge was very handy ! Definitely recommend.

Very decent, affordable place to stay in the area, close access to freeways, and with useful nearby businesses accessible by car. Not a great area for walking, especially at night. The room was basic, clean, sufficient. There is ample lit parking for guests, and hot coffee and breakfast snacks are served downstairs every morning. The staff are nice, and helpful.

One older gentleman who checked us in was really nice and accommodating. There were 2 others at 2 different times who were not as nice and gave the feel of a gas station cashier. The place was clean including outside, hallways and rooms. The shower curtains was not the right size or the rail was loose both rooms we had and had a real hard time preventing the curtain from from constantly sliding away and splashing water outside. Would hv been nice if there was a smart TV. Everything else was nice. Would rank as a place I would return for the price I paid..

The whole building/ hallway smells cigarette. Waking up early morning, someone is fighting and yelling inside the building. The rooms are okay and cleaned and staff are attentive.

Definitely getting what you paid for, BUT the housekeepers does a great job keeping the rooms clean and proving new towels/bedding every day. I left a tip for them just for taking care of me the week I was there.

There was nothing I would change about this hotel.

1) It's marketed as a hotel but it's a hotel with an AI Gucci belt in person. MUCH smaller than expected. 2) Cleanliness was not up to par at all. There were various burns, stains, and dirt along all of the walls and couch. There was a huge stain in the left corner of the couch and it was too icky for me to want to sit on it. We felt too uncomfortable to even sleep under the covers as well because of it. 3) The pillows are essentially air. We hit our heads up against the headboard a few times because the four pillows are just little squares of light filling. 4) I'd never encountered such a bipolar shower, but there's a first for everything I guess. Every 30 seconds or so, it'd change from varying temperatures of lukewarm, hot, cold, and scalding heat. Not to mention, there's no shower lining and the little cloth curtain they did provide couldn't stay spread out on the shower bar because it's curved and was broken so that it hung. The floor did flood with water a bit and we only took one shower together during our 3 day, 2 night stay. Pros: 1) Though it was small, parking was easy and there was plenty of space. However, it was not a secure lot. 2) Room size was spacious and the king bed was large and comfortable. 3) For two nights, we paid $184. It's conveniently located right next to the freeway and has some good local eateries around. So long as you're mostly just looking at it as a place to rest your head at night, it's not the worst you can do.

The mattress protector is like a medical chuck. So gross. I have pictures. Also there are signs everywhere that say no pets or smoking. The 3rd floor reeked of cigarette smoke and a couple had a dog off leash running the halls

This seems low-level, but having bad pillows can ruin a night's sleep and impact a vacation. The furnace/AC was also very loud and woke us up throughout the night. I would avoid this place.

The only thing I found difficult is finding a news channel on TV for the first 2 nights. I would be nice to have a list with the channel and name of channels(at least 2 news channel, 2 movie channels, etc). I didnt mind that we were in an area that had a view of some businees. We were there only at night, so...not important.

Hotel was basic, but right on par for this price range. Room was in good condition, and I appreciated the abundance of counter space where I could have all of my bags out for easy access. Hotel was near a BART station, grocery store, and several restaurants. I would stay here again.

The place itself was great! I loved the room we got! Fully remodeled. Unfortunately you need your room keys for the only entrance through the lobby. After 8pm your locked out. How many of us will find out our room keys don't work, we got locked out while the owner repeatedly is in the lobby saying "USE YOUR CARD!!" DIDNT bother opening the door and continued eating with his friends/family. Very rude custom service which killed the vibe of the hotel.

I like everything about the hotel, the only thing that I didn't like is the area around, everything is dirty, alot of homeless people around, including one was sleeping in the hotel parking lot, I didn't feel secure and safe outside the hotel

the only thing weve noticed, the bathroom is a little old. it would be nice if garbage cans have plastic in them. and the smell of the smoke in the entrance was strong (maybe air freshner will help). the pillows are small (suggestion need a better pillows for better comfort staying in your hotel. overall our stay was good.

Our view out of the window was of an abandoned building with graffiti and a very large pile of trash in front of it. The sheets on the bed did not go all the way to the end of the bed. Staff was very friendly and coffee and packaged Danish was supplied for morning breakfast. Convenience location to shopping and restaurants.

Pillows were not that comfy, might be a personal preference. Bathroom light fixture was rusted and had cobwebs, cosmetic issue. Was a nice stay, not noisy to where it kept me up which is good considering it’s by the freeway.

Anita at the front desk was wonderful with a pleasant professional attitude. The guys at the desk have never attended any customer service training. No greetings, no smiles, always looked as though I was bothering them. Did receive a smile when I was saying goodbye after we checked out.

With all that said, I don't know if I would stay here again. There was a fee, like a "resort fee", which I was NOT happy about. There was also a $2.00 fee which did NOT give the reason why it was charged. Those fees were besides the "regular" hotel "taxes and fees" one pays.

The property was convenient to what I needed to what I needed to do. It was easy on and off from 880. Close to grocery stores. The property itself is old and it has “that smell” to it. Nut it was clean and it served the purpose that I needed to.

This is a no-frills hotel. It was good for us as we only needed it to sleep in. The room we stayed at are clean and neat. This is our second time staying here and it does what we needed it for.

You get what you pay for. This is for people who need a room and do it on a budget. There wax nothing wrong with it. I felt safe.

Always nice to stay at Hotel Mira Vista. Hotel staff let me store my luggage after check-in when I went out for some last-minute sightseeing.

My go to spot when I need a room in the area. Fair rates and upgraded rooms. Any problem they are quick to help.

It’s a very bad hotel. The floor was dirty and full of hairs! Dark room, white and cheap lights.No shampoo , no shower gel. Small and old and very uncomfortable pillows. The stuff was careless. The rate for this hotel should be 1…Horrible view full of garbage! Horrible place! Don’t waste your money.

Front door locked. After getting in clerk said we needed to use our key. We hadn't checked in yet! Needed inexpensive overnight stay close to the area I was expected in early next day. General appearance average. Good freeway access.no guest services. Room just ok, had to remove toilet tank lid (once), stuck valve didn't allow tank refill. Best, I can say - not recommend unless it's best you can afford.

My toilet wouldn't flush. But otherwise my stay was good.

My mom is picky. I mean super picky. She was happy with the room and loved how clean it was. She said it was a easy process for check in.

Mira Vista is a nice hotel just to get away and relax. Everything is near, such as food freeways and stores, so it’s very convenient as well. They are still making upgrades, but the value of the room is right on point.

A basic no frills room, everything worked and was clean. Budget price

Clean, spacious rooms. Safe parking. Dislikes: Advertised as having in house laundry. Booked it expecting this. Not told anything about it not working at check in. When I went to look for the laundry room the receptionist then said that it doesn't work

Visiting family. Great for the price and clean. No real issues except that they can adjust the flushing situation on the toilet. I’ve read this on reviews prior to booking, thought that maybe it is a ‘one-offs’. The toilet has to be flushed several times (at least 3-4) to make everything go down.

Old in serious need of renovation. Microwave in the room burned the paper cup. The room was dark and old, couch in the corner was dirty. I would not return. Stayed for the location, wasn’t worth the convenience

Was there visiting friends. Room was always cleaned when I would come back. Perfect if you are visiting the area, not a hotel to hang around at....

We were very comfortable in our 2nd floor room with elevator access. The beds were very comfortable, with high quality linens. We enjoyed good sleep without noise disruptions. Window coverings were best ever! No breakfast was offered, but Fat Apple’s neighborhood cafe and bakery is nearby and was EXCELLENT. We will stay here again!
