The staff was friendly. The hotel and the room were very messy. The TV did not work. The bed was hard and uncomfortable.

The employees made all the difference

The staff at this place went above and beyond to help us. I am in a wheelchair and I an disabled. I asked for a shower chair and they made it happen...I asked for a cart to help us move our things and they were so kind throughout our stay. The staff was the best part of my stay there.

I want to start by saying Steven, Jessica and the manager were amazing they went above and beyond excellent staff apart from the night shift lady who couldn’t help me and was very dismissive. The area was rough but it’s Bakersfield so comes with the territory I’m learning. Still despite that everyone I met was kind. I’m a travel nurse so I never know what to expect. The rooms could use some work not dirty but not clean. My second room was well cleaned. Not sure I would stay again.

I like the kitchen and that's it There was no breakfast for one and the bed was the hardest bed I've ever slept on when we walked in the room we were greeted by two cockroaches ,when we went to use the elevator one night we were met by piles of trash that had adult diapers in them so of course I reported it to the front desk immediately , but the next morning when I went to leave the trash was still there but the smell was even worse I had to report it to the day staff then finally they removed it , the place had almost no hot water, and we couldn't even sleep cause the room next doors dogs barked all night long and the front desk said there was nothing they could do about it , the pool was closed, and the guest laundry was down also , but they sure still charged us like it has all these extra things. I paid 95 for one night there and I would of been better off sleeping outside with all the junkies that surrounded this motel would of gotten a better night's sleep that's for sure.

Bikes, dogs, and people with few teeth wandered in and out, going to the upstairs areas. Most of the rooms are blocked off with renovation stickers, but our room was very worn down, dirty floors, broken toilet seat, mirror looked like it had been in a fire. However, once in the room, it was quiet aside from the occasional barking of the dog tied to the tree outside the room. I did not feel safe walking across the street to the diner as small groups of people carrying garbage bags and riding bikes lingered around the entrance. Check in was easy, but once again, I should have guessed what the stay would be since the check in was in a small room attached to a lobby (similar to a pawn shop where you are completely separated from the representative checking us in.) Despite our room being booked as non-smoking, everything reeked of smoke in our room--pillows, sheet, one light blanket. I would say good for the price, but this should be a $50/night or by the hour hotel.

Every thing was great. Onlu complaint was the bar of soap was really tiny and it would have been nice to have a packet of coffee for the coffee maker.

Staff was very accommodating but they allow homeless people to congregate outside, they sit out on the front lawn out in the front and are constantly going back and forth in the parking lot feels very unsafe I was constantly looking out the window to see if my car was okay, as soon as I got to my room I had to kill two cockroaches and my feet were sticking to the floor!

I really liked the people working there, they were very friendly! Also liked having a fridge and stovetop (note that you need to bring your own pan / utensils). The room had this really strong and persistent chemical smell (even with the window open) which I think was used to cover up something else, I’m just not sure what. One of the kitchen cabinets was also missing a door and the building kinda felt a little sketchy. The room was really cheap and I usually like the value of Motel 6’s, but I wouldn’t stay at this location again.

Absolutely nothing. Don’t stay here! We felt very insecure in this hotel, since the moment we arrived we noticed the neighborhood was not the best and a lot of suspicious people were going in and out the lobby, staring at us and our belongings while we were getting our luggage out of our car. Initially we received the wrong room, located in the third floor, which at first sight was HORRENDOUS, it had a strong smell as if someone had just smoked on it, the bedsheets were dirty with a lot of stains, the curtains were literally ripped off, the furniture was very damaged, the kitchen was everything but clean and the floor itself had several other low level guests, in the stairs we ran over the same three men that had been staring at us in the parking lot when we first arrived, we were scared for our safety once again. We went back to the reception and asked for a new room and they offered a room in the second floor, the cleaning improved a bit but still we found some cockroaches in the bathroom. We barely slept that night as we were scared about someone getting into the room, we left our car in the parking lot expecting the worst too. We went out of there as soon as we could. This hotel clearly offers long stay rates which are very convenient for homeless, so you can find all kind of people in this place that does not make you feel safe at all, literally Cecil Hotel 2.0.

And the people staying in the hotel seem to be people trying to get back on their feet. The Hallways reeked of weed. You could hear people yelling at each other inside of their rooms as well as people knocking on others' doors this guy kept kept walking up and down the hall and starred at my daughter as we passed by. I was by myself without my husband and my and with my 2 young daughters, and I did not feel safe staying at this hotel.

Nothing The motel is old and decrepit, with apparently little effort to maintain it. The full size refrigerator did not work and several lights were inoperative. Cockroaches scurried for cover, when I turned on the light upon entering.

I have never wanted to leave so bad from a hotel. I had to stay because i had paid already for the hotel and unfortunately it was not refundable. The place outside wasn’t that bad but the people around the hotel made is very uncomfortable and very unpleasant. No lie i was scared to leave my car parked outside . There was people that looked drugged outside and even inside the hotel. Homeless people. And when i got my room it had a werid smell , the bed sheets were dirty and the bathroom didn’t look so clean. Do yourself a favor don’t go . Its not worth the good price for the hotel.

The room was good size and comfortable. It appears to have been an extended stay room. The price was good. The hardwood floors were dirty and turned the bottom of my feet black. The wifi was weak and intermittent. There was no shampoo in the shower and was told they don't provide it. There were several younger guests and a strong Marijuana smell.

Its not in the best of areas. When we were there, we saw what appeared to be a drug deal go down one night and a huge fight between a couple in the parking lot at 3 am another night. I would only recommend this hotel because of Scott.

Horrific. We felt like we walked into a hotel room that was built for a horror movie. No kidding. Bugs crawling on the floor, in the bathtub. Bed sheets stained, unchanged. Doors peeling and literally hanging off the hinges. How could they in good conscience deliver so little for $100? No replacement room available. We ended up in two separate rooms, wife and daughter in one, me in the other. Horrible experience after a 5 hour drive.

After I was settled and took a look at the room, I just have up. It was filthy. While the bed was freaky made, everything else was gross. There was dirt and garbage all over the top of the fridge, hair inside it, the cupboards were falling apart and the walls had been scraped to pieces. I gave up and repacked my car and checked out. The front desk clerk literally wasn't even surprised, and cheerfully put up a refund, saying she was glad I told her instead of just leaving as she needed a form signed to refund my money. Yikes

When i checked in i was told i reserved a smoking room and i wasnt aware of that. He offered a non smoking room so i accepted. He told me it would be noisy because it was next to the back door. I told him i had a white noise machine with me and I'd take it. The room smelled like cigarettes as soon as we opened the door, it was furnished with various broken or extremely worn furniture, and if they were cleaned you couldnt tell it. The bathtub had cigarette burns on it and so did the sheets on our bed. The noise was non-stop between the back door slamming and the people above us who sounded like they were bowling all night long. There are many homeless in the area and we were afraid to park our truck with a camper shell in the back near our room and ended up parking it in front of the office. Im not a picky person, if a room is outdated but clean i can handle that. I carry antiseptic wipes and Lysol with me and since we were only there to sleep one night i used them and we stayed for about 10 hrs but I honestly cant recommend this motel to anyone

Room was old and although it appeared to have been cleaned, it was ratty. The cabinets were gross. Also, the mattress was not comfortable and there were lots of people loitering in the parking lot. All that said, the woman working there was nice and friendly and it wasn't loud during the night. It was a place to sleep for one night.

The room was bright at night and let a lot of light in from their outside lights because the curtains do not block out the light at all. I got robbed while staying there and when I ran into the office telling the lady who worked there what happened she just rolled her eyes and slid me a new key since mine had been stolen along with my wallet (2k inside) had my social, basically my whole life was inside that wallet. I couldn't afford to eat for an entire week and had no gas, I was out of town so I had to sleep in my car for seven days with no shower and I work in the oilfields

If Expedia is going to list property of this caliber I won’t be looking anymore. Property was totally unsafe with the clientele hanging around. Checked the room out and couldn’t hardly breathe when opening the door. Hallway was dark with no lighting available. We didn’t even stay in the place. Most disappointed stop I’ve ever countered .

There were sketchy vehicles all over the parking lot with windows missing out of them, some interesting characters outside, the long hallway had no lights on and a skunk smelling smoke cloud billowed out when we opened the door. Finding this after checking in at a security window made me decide to turn around and lose the $85 if necessary.

It is ok if on a budget, but do not expect much else than a place to sleep. Term "deluxe room" a bit misleading. Was small and cramped for a family of 4. My window was broken and didn’t lock. The staff was nice and did replace my window right away but the room itself was nasty. It smelt like cat piss and the carpets were sticky and made my feet black in less than 30 minutes of being there

my Price was 111.00USD. The property was extremely noisy. The walls very dirty, people on upper floor coming in and out all Night. Bedding was poor. Staff overall good refunded me there portion of next day that was booked. stayed at travel lodge next night was 101.00 and much better.

I wish O would have thought snd taken pictures. Yelling and screaming from other people renting a room, police were called for domestic violence situation. The hotel is run down and beat up, inside and out. First room toilet was clogged, no television remote. I told the front desk clerk he said there were no remotes available or a plunger. Second room "no smoking" it was very much smoked in and heater did not work, it blew only cold air on the heat selection and hair in the shower that did not belong to me.

It was a very lovely stay. Very clean and said what it promised.

My only gripe is that there were only 2 bath towels for 4 people and no shampoo and conditioner.

The coffee-maker was horrible because there were stains inside and I have to remove it manually before I dare make my coffee.

Beds were uncomfortable and the covers looked old and un-inviting. I tried turning on the heater because there’s no way I was going to use the covers. That caused the smoke alarm to go off. I had to climb a chair to silence it. The building from the outside looks pretty nice but honestly, this place was ugly on the inside (room 117). The roaches in the restroom made it worse. If you like Studio 6 motels, stay in the one in Buttonwillow. That one is was super pleasant, clean and cheaper.

From the start it was bad did not have ky reservation corret had to change thungs around the refrigerator stove an microwave did not work all you see is a bounch of drue addicted out side in an out all time of the nigt an to top it off i saw at least 4 roches in my room bathroom shower curtain had mildew in it ala it was the worst stay i ever indured in my life

Hands-down, the worst experience we’ve had staying in a hotel. The front desk clerk gave us a hard time about bringing our two small dogs, even though the hotel is advertised as pet friendly. She then began to explain to me there would be additional fees involved with the pets which were not listed on Orbitz when I made the booking. She also attempted to strong arm us into moving rooms the next day because pets were not allowed on their second floor. Given the fact that we were in town for a memorial service and gone the entire day we explained that moving to another room would not work for us. Neither the staff nor any of the guests staying in the hotel were wearing masks. The hotel was filthy from the lobby Including our guest room. The pictures on Orbitz do not match the room we booked at all. You could smell tobacco smoke and cannabis throughout the entire hotel. Wi-Fi did not work properly. Thermostat did not work properly. Overall, we feel misled and ripped off.

The room looked nice but when I got home I realized I got eaten by possibly bed bugs or something. My backside is covered by bites. Never had this happen before here but made sure when I got home to wash eveything I took with me to make sure I didnt spread it at home!

Gross. Hadn’t been vacuumed. Stained scratchy da sheets. Refrigerator had to have breaker switch moved to work. Dirty ice bucket. Dirty doors. Dead cockroach behind fridge. Although pet friendly charged $10 more. Pool closed. Plus was coffee machine in room and vending machine items available.

The room with a kitchenette had now instructions on how to turn it on nor the refrigerator. The pillows where bad. The table and chair where in a nice location.

The curtain in the window was mostly useless at keeping nighttime light out. Maintenance has been deferred here wuite a bit. We left 12 hours early, at 11:30p.m. just to get away from this place. There is no point in staying here. So, much potential, completely ruined experience.

It was a room and the ac worked like a charm ... the fridge didnt close property. The bed was rock hard. The stove works ok after you figure out how to use it

the rooms were beautiful and spacious / clean and comfortable / the ice and vending area was very nice with a large variety of vending items and a laundry facility it was not always open however so it was a bit inconvenient to have access too and some of the staff lacked a friendly inviting attitude so that made business at front desk awkward but overall I really did enjoy my stay there and would stay again

It was horrible! Ive stayed there before and it was ok but this time it was an absolute nightmare. The staff was very rude and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I couldnt tell who actually worked there and who was just a regular tweaker in the area. Worst area to stay in if you have children! The rooms were cleaned ok. Don't dare stay until your 11am checkout because they will be banging on your door right before 11 yelling at you to pay or get out. Worst Studio 6 I've ever stayed at, worst staff & worst service at a hotel period.

The key card they gave us for our room didn’t work to begin with. We were charged twice for the room (thankfully we caught it and got one charge refunded). There were multiple pieces of gum stuck to the headboard of the bed and there were stains on the sheets. The fridge was janky.

I like that the manager was honest with us. What l didnt like was it is in a bad area. Lots of homeless going through the garbage cans. Police driving around the motel. Was afraid that our truck was going to get rob.

I think I was in room 108. Despite all the rooms, as well as mine, being non-smoking the hallway smelled very strongly of cigarettes and, at one point late at night, weed.

Had never stayed at a studio 6 so didn’t really know what was going to be there. It was actually pretty nice. These are probably more of an extended stay but it worked for us for the night. It was spacious and had a nice bathroom, much better than some of the other Motel 6 that we stayed at.

Didn't like no breakfast (free) or that is. Loved the freedom and privacy they give you. You could go days without seeing anyone if wanted. Also the respectfulness given by all.

Rooms here are larger and nicer than the comparable other longer term hotel rooms locally. Very quiet and no homeless people hanging around so therefore a feeling of safety.here. There are 2 restaurants very close by within walking distance. The freeway is close and accessible and yet I do not hear any traffic noise. Overall I am very pleased with this facility. Front desk is both knowledgeable and helpful.

Hotel feels very closed in rooms were were small with big old outdated TVs with horrible picture. Hallways and staircase smelled so strong of marijuana. Stayed in nicer hotels for a lot cheaper price

Close to our weekend location, however, we were NOT given any receipt due to booking thru Expedia. Heater did not work at all the first night. Lukewarm water and very low water pressure for shower. Someone else's belongings were still in one of the drawers.

Overall, a very nice room for the value. Stove top didn’t work, but that’s alright. Fridge and freezer worked fine. Tv is nothing fancy but provided. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Nothing special, but really a pleasant and affordable night.

While the hotel was clean it definatly needs to be updated. The bedspread had burn holes and the full size bed was very uncomfortable. It's an extended stay, therefore it should have an iron and ironing board in the rooms. There is only ONE iron and ironing board in the whole hotel and it's in the laundry room which is also where the vending and ice machine are located and is locked at 9pm. If you need to get ice, do laundry or iron after 9 the staff has to let you in. Smoking and non smoking rooms are intermixed on each floor. Getting off the elevator, we had to pass smoking rooms to get to our room. Let's just say by the time we got to the 12th room we smelled enough marijuana to get high. It was convenient right off the freeway but I don't think we'll stay there again.

I was very disappointed because the linen really had bad odor, the comforter to be particularly it was very hard to cover using the linen, it’s smelt smoke and we booked a non smoking room, bed uncomfortable, miss match pillows, we had one long pillow with a regular pillow case, also we found empty water bottle by the bed and this was supposed to have been cleaned, lastly the only have one iron box for the whole facility stored at the reception area.

The outside looks great! Nice area. Great parking. My room was run down. Old school tv. Spring mattress. I slept horrible and 3 Days later my back is killing me from tossing and turning all night. They really need to update the inside! I might consider returning if the got new beds!!

When I checked in the front girl was very nice but my card was declined even tho I had tons of money on it...Had to walk to 7-11 for ATM cash....checked in and went to 3rd floor where I was overcome by a reeking smell of cigarette smoke.....Got to my room and got things in order...Disrobed to shower and walked no more then 5 feet on carpet then on tile to bathroom.....when I got in shower I saw "BLACK" water coming off my feet. Showered then checked carpet with white towel....BLACK...I stayed 2 nights of 3 and checked out tonight and went to ESA on chester. the only reason I stayed at SM6 was money....I will not be doing that again nor will I be stayed at a motel 6 ever again.

Big rooms, accessible, clean, excellent customer service excellent location big parking.

Good location, reasonable rates, overall decent condition, but large unknown bug on one pillow and multiple cigarette holes in the bedding (in a non-smoking room). Also fair sized hole in carpet.

Everything was fine except that it really seems to matter which side of the building one's room is on. The 99 freeway seems, at a glance, to be far enough away to not cause a noise problem at night, when trying to sleep. But it is, in fact, quite loud on the north side of the building. I would book again, but insist on a room on the south side. If that was also loud, I'd not book again, nor would I recommend this facility to anyone I know who requires silence in order to sleep.
