Motel 6 Bakersfield, CA - East

I kept on chasing flies that I don’t knw were it came from till I slept,and the room ontop of my own kept banging

Room was extremely dirty and smelled horrible, there were stains in the fridge and all around it

Rooms reeked of cigarette smell and were very old so they need a lot of maintenance. Shower head fell on our child so we immediately left and didn’t spend the night there. Additionally, the neighbors kept screaming and the neighborhood is very dangerous.

I want to give this place more stars, because of the kind staff. Unfortunately, the property was not well maintained. There was trash in parking lot. Also,screws on the ground to ruin your tires. I got a nail in my tire from parking lot. There is laundry. There is ice, but my ice bucket was extremely dirty. Hair in towels. Stains in towels. Mattress sunken in the middle. Really noisy with vagrants around. The only real positive I have is the price, and the nice staff.

I was scared to get out of my car there was homeless and druggies everywhere. This place was a dump and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I would have booked elsewhere but I and a lot of my family members where there for an overnight vigil and funeral so all all other hotels were booked because we all came from far. Also I only planned to sleep there 3-4hours and shower. The room smelled like smoke there were multiple flys in the room the shower curtain had dirt stains etc. Even 2 sheriffs showed up looking for felons as I check out the following morning. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Dirt and hair on the phone as well as the toilet. The towel holders were all grimy and dirty. I didn't have a washcloth. There was a garbage can missing. The TV was angled and look like someone tried to steal it. I had somebody pounding at my door at 2:00 in the morning. Trust me on this one you do not want to stay here. Pay the extra 10 bucks to go elsewhere. Bakersfield motel 6 East is garbage.

The night time Indian clerk was rude and only gave me 1 room key she standard is 2 and when I asked for another he got defensive and declined. To top it off the damn key did not work I went back in to get it replaced and he gave me another that did not work either. Room floor was dirty and sticky the tub was all broken and leaked all over the floor during shower. The microwave work for 1 night then malfunction next morning. Not worth the money I paid. And room service lady asked me how to do her job. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Plus there was a lot of bugs in the room. Including a black widow on the bed my 6 yr old was sleeping on.

This place was nothing like the pictures that they are sharing. Place didn’t look clean besides the beds as the floors were dirty the bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while also. The tv wasn’t working either. The area was sketchy felt like we were going to get our vehicle stolen. Safe to say we did not stay here.

The pillows and blankets stinked like cigarettes so not even sure if they even washed the blankets. So at 4am I went to front office to ask for warm water or to warm it up. And the said no it is not permitted. So I was gonna walk to the gas station next door to buy hot water and some guys outside wanted to follow me I had to run back to my room scared.

There were a lot of homeless people outside the hotel and in it, and there was some sort of fight going on in the room above us, lots of yelling and loud noises. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, couldn't wait to get out of there!

A couple of weeks ago they overcharged me $20 dollars more and yet haven't received a call, letter about it nor my refund. Recently previously i had to wait in the lobby for an hour to check in because the lady from next shift was running late. No apologies no nothing. Then it so happened that my room was taken it was supposed to be empty then they gave me a handicapped that still had pee on the bathroom floor and it smelled. The last one was all the way in the back and smelled mold and was dusty it had spider webs. It makes you think why and what ifs... i do traveled a lot and i feel like they treat me poorly and it's about being treated like a human. Now to hope that I'm able to talk to a manager and hopefully he will considered me.

This place was straight up a shanty town. Like the grossest hotel you've ever been in in your life. If you got eight more dollars you can go next door and literally go stay in the ritz. The grass really is Greener on the other side. Say no to drugs kids

I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. When you pull in at 1am from a long drive to seeing people strung out. Over 10 people just walking around and doing random stuff outside...at 1AM.

The person at the check in desk was super nice and even though we weren’t able to get a refund per hotel policy, she was nice to help us try and change our room at first and check if we could get a refund. There were 2 bugs in the room, the desk wasn’t cleaned off and was sticky, and there was what looked like a hole in the door caused by a punch.

I get the price is cheap, there was alot of homeless in the back of the lot, our room was ok but we had a hard cigarette smell, our blanket had a cigarette burn hole. Loud music playing early morning. Even thought it was just 1 nite to sleep but not the best.

Lock didn’t work going into our room so needed help and we couldnt get out of our room when it was time to go. We wiggled and pulled on the door till it finally popped open. The door was a bit broken on the opening side, the bed was also broken with burnt cigarette marks and the whole room smelled like pure cigarettes as well knowing it’s a non smoking room but it’s still alright i guess for what I pay for , hopefully a better cleaner room next time since it’s reliable to sleep in

The police rolled in to arrest someone right when we came in. But no one bothered us for the night. You get what you paid for.

The parking lot had several ankle busting holes. The people upstairs were very noisy because the ceiling had no sound proofing to speak of. It felt like a homeless shelter with all the odd folks hanging around and 3 sheriff cars were there the 2nd night so I took a shower and left without staying overnight. I won't ever be back to this one. A horrible experience overall.

1st room #204 broken toilet I had call time 5:45am not return til 7pm changed room to #145 slept a while in middle of night went to flush Kleenex from sneezing / allergies and toilet overflowing again. My daughter and I stayed one night and while I've stayed in more sketchy places before, I wouldn't have been surprised to see my car broken into in the morning. Fortunately it wasn't and despite dogs barking and noisy people to start the night, we both actually slept really well on a comfortable bed. Possibly the worst thing was the dog poop everywhere. It was so bad in places that it was not only on the grassy areas but you could see that it had been stepped in and tracked all over the walk ways. So just be careful when you're walking in the walkways to watch your step so you don't track any into your room like we did.

I understand it is not a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in many other locations. This one is the worst. Very dirty rooms. Unsafe location and the room smelled like cigarette. Very OLD matress. It felt like i was sleeping on the floor.

They kept checking me out of my room every day. They also checked in another party and told me that they would find me another room. I had all of my things in my room and they said that I am not registered in the room that I checked into the previous day. They wouldn’t stop banging on my door and insisting that I didn’t pay for my room when I did.

I don't know the girls name she works the office she's tall and skinny with long black hair she's Caucasian and she's rude and looks at you like you're trash l told her my wouldn't let me in the room l told her the night before it wasn't working either and another girl had to come open my room she got very angry at me when I still couldn't open the door she got mad because she had to come open my door with what she had

When I yelled at them to go away and to stop bothering me, someone asked me if I was supposed to be in that room. I told them that I was registered in the room and that I was not yet checking out. (Check out time was 11 AM.) As I was leaving, the manager came to me to explain that the staff had not properly registered the room in my name and so the morning staff was confused. I was glad he was trying to clarify the situation, but I told him that it was completely unacceptable for people to try to enter the room unannounced when it was obviously locked and a guest was still using the room. Very unprofessional behavior.

I really love the area. It’s easy to get to the courts in central Bakersfield. It’s easy to get through the freeways. It’s easy on a highway so there stores and so it’s a pretty good area because I’m working so with my business I’m able to work and move around

The actual condition of the Hotel is nothing like the pictures shown. Condition is very run down. Room smelled of Manure, though the property did not. Bed was not comfortable.

Dog poop found everywhere. Guests who bring the dogs they did not pick up after their pups. My room looks clean but flies were everywhere. When I report to front desk and ask for room change, they said no available room and they gave me bug spray.

They so rude and the room was so dirty the beds terrible a lot of noise, the room maid open my door twice she knocked the door and I answered and she still open the door. I complained at the office but they didn’t care about it, the last time they open my door was at 9:22am and I told the lady that is was getting ready to check out, the check out time is at 11am so I don’t understand why they are like that. Never going back to this motel again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The door was broken, didn’t lock didn’t even need a key to open it. Someone had tried to break in at some point and they didn’t fix it. You could see outside through the cracks in the door. Super dirty. Bed was deformed and you were just sleeping on the box spring. Bathroom moldy and water in the tub didn’t turn off. People hanging outside drinking and smoking all night long. Super sketchy unsafe area.

We didn’t even stay ten minutes and decided to drive four hours further to our final destination. It was sketchy for sure. The room smelled of smoke. There was a pit bull dragging its leash walking around (and we brought small dogs with us).

At arrival we got the keys to a room which was already occupied. The next room we got had more than 100 flies in it. It was dirty. Room door was messed up, curtains having big holes and about to fall down. The beds were both subsided where the previous guests had been sleeping. Really dirty outside. People sleeping outside the garbage containers. We arrived late and didnt have any options than to stay. The worst motel I have ever seen.

The front desk person came outside and finally asked my name and then apologized and said I was in the system . As soon as I walked in the room it smelled like cigarettes. . I couldn’t get a refund for this place so I had to stay . They had loud dogs staying next to us . Arguments happening outside my door at 2 in the morning. There was a lot of suspicious people outside coming in and out of these rooms. It was a scary experience , didn’t get any rest

My room was dirty, q tips on bed multiple hairs. Toilet was not clean had pubic hairs and stains as well and the floor was dirty with hair and dirt. Disappointed in the room as I thought at least it would make up for the area it was in. But nope at best bring your own bedding and pillow! And don't forget head soap and body soap!

Check in with speedy and painless the lady at the front desk was polite and nice took me 2 minutes to check in.

It amazing you can find the freeway for her and you could get a direction for everywhere. It’s a lot easier to go around in Bakersfield in this grade for business to do if you were working on business projects and doing business it is really great.

No recommended if you go with your family their bed mattress is terrible uncomfortable.

Motel 6 is the best motel that I’ve been here on Brundage East Brundage in Bakersfield Someone has put a bad review under my name Alice Madera. I recommend this motel because It’s close to the freeway. The service is great clean rooms. The staff is very nice and considerate their coffee service for working people

Room was very inexpensive. Desk Service fantastic. The room itself was as clean as I imagine housekeeping could make it, but it was filled with flies and reeked of cigarettes. Surrounding area was not the best. But when you’re looking for the cheapest room in Bakersfield. Motel 6 has you covered

The property isn’t in the best place lots of homeless the room was decent as well had a little stench but the cleaning ladies where really nice always came to check if we needed any new towels or toilet paper etc I would stay there again overall a pretty cool stay no bothered us for the most part there was a time a guy knocked for a lighter but after we told him no not he knocking they left us alone

This hotel is great for bossiness it close to old town, central Bakersfield and Hwy 58 and 99 it’s easy access to wherever you need to go. The workers are nice. The rooms are clean and they’ll be there to help you on everything you need. I have enjoyed my stay.

Don’t stay here. Prostitution, homeless people and drug addicts have taken over this hotel. Left 20 minutes after checking in. The room smelt like someone was just smoking meth in it. Dog poop everywhere outside.

Avoid this place at all cost! Its a scummy, poorly maintained, and definitely not customer service friendly establishment. My initial room had no heat, no television, and the door to the room looked like it had been broken into a few times. Totaly sketchy and unsafe. After addressing the issues with the heavy set Mexican lady at the front desk, she was trying to blame us and asked how long we knew about these issues before "complaining". Just a very rude and condescending individual. It also doesnt help that its half hotel and half low income housing. So that also attracts some unsavory characters to the property. Overall a horrible experience and would never suggest this property to anyone.

I got what I expected, a bed and bath.

Door frame was missing, noises from every way outside and both rooms next to it were knocking the wall constantly!! They were reflecting a light from outside the room directly to the mirror on the wall, making the room completely bright, worst nigh of my life!!!

The area felt unsafe and was dirty and poorly maintained. I was worried about my car getting broken into all night (judging by the people hanging outside in the parking lot). We chose Motel 6 because it is pet friendly and accessible- we have stayed at a few of them before, knowing it is a motel and it was cheap we had low expectations. However, the property still disappointed us. It was dirty, loud, and felt unsafe. We felt the need to check for bed bugs because it did not seem well maintained. It was really loud outside. We woke up continuously through the night because of noise from people in the parking lot and cars passing by. The bed was uncomfortable and the nonsmoking room smelled like smoke. Waited about 1 hour to check in because when we arrived front desk was closed then there was a line of people waiting for their needs to be met as well. We only stayed one night and our interactions with staff were limited therefore no complaints about their costumer service except the wait time but I assume she was on break. Would not recommend this stay for families or more than 1 night stays.

Mattress was so in need of replacement. Shower was low pressure due to shower pull and shower head. AC/Heater was old and smelly. If you are able to stay elsewhere do so. Was a last minute stop and looked for cheap and usually lucky but not this time. At least was fairly clean, locks worked and was quiet.

I know it’s just a motel 6, and I expect the usual riff raft in the parking lot. But I did not expect the alarm to get set off next door at the Golden Ox. One night was annoying enough, but when it went off the following night, and the night after that, enough was enough. The alarm went off 3 nights on a row, for 2-4 hours each time. No sorry, no explanation, no nothing. I doubt and hope the alarm next door will go off for a fourth night, but how unprofessional the situation was completely ignored was unacceptable

Well went to a class reunion it was close to our venue we mainly got the room to change and a backup place to go if we decided to drink ! But it was surprisingly quiet

The outside of the property is very dirty. It appears that people live here. We had to request a second room because our first smelled like cigarettes and was filthy. Our second room was better, but still dirty. I am not one who needs a fancy hotel, but I believe motel 6 could have done much better. The facility outside was gross and I felt unsafe. The manager took random breaks and was no where to be found most of the time. Overall, I would not stay here again. I had my two children with me and I was not happy.

The owner takes the business seriously and makes sure proper work ethics are demonstrated. After the disaster of RM 319 the 1st night, the owner was sure to apologize with a much better room and everything I paid for. Though I feel I should've been given a discount on my next reservation or a extra night or two would be lovely. My goal is to do my part in Building Back Better as I go about in our community.. I'm sorry my stars didn't hit all 5 stars but it's a lovely place to stay without being overcharged to do the basics of living. I personally would love to see a dog walker provided as a service. Sometimes it's hard to get the day going after working, driving or whatever and then walk the dogs.

The motel was very clean and felt comfortable for a place considered a temporary home away from home. Being said, the staff were very pleasant and actually assisted you with your needs. That alone is reason to stay on the Upper Eastside of Bakersfield

Homeless people sleeping outside by the pool. People walking in the parking lot all night long. Other hotels around area had security fences and gated but not this one.

If quality and comfort could be conjoined to describe what the staff bring to your stay at Motel 6 on the Eastside of Bakersfield. In this case, it easiest just to say "home sweet home away" beyond expectations.

To noise to much homeless outside remote control trouble water leak in the toilet I know it’s cheaper than the others but that was to much problems bed makes a lot of noise I asked for a handicapped room close to the lobby but they send me all the way to the back of the property really disappointed my trip it was for two nights, so I just decide to cancel the second night and also there’s bugs

The room smelled like cigarettes, dirty curtains with holes, dirty bed frames with missing fabric from pet scratches and nasty stains. Regarding TV I was not able to watch any Chanel’s. Too many people screaming outside until 3:00 am. Tried calling manager to report the crazy traffic from people screaming outside no one ever answer. It seems they use these place as apartment complex but I could be wrong.

It was goin good even tho they say it sleeps 2 but i barely fit on bed.. maybe 2 midgets no offense but bed was really short ...was falling asleep til a firetruck pulled into parking lot and didnt know what room to go to so they start honking right out my door.... then finally when it stops some woman comes running out screaming n yelling , then after that it was just people loitering out my window parked right out the door blocking fire lane....couldnt get any sleep...finally morning and i go to lobby to warm up food and no microwave no forks no spoons nothing... smh

Stayed 1 night to rest on our way to Vegas. The ladies working the front desk were very nice and helped recommend food options. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Didn't use the pool but there were lots of families using it. Good place to stop & rest.

This was a part of an extended stay that I was in over the 4th of July other then it being far from everything it's actually quiet but the AC units needed to be cleaned

From the moment I checked in, there were issues with all the homeless people living practically on the property. They are sleeping under a tree on the 58 off-ramp and have holes everywhere in the fence connecting with Motel 6. They go through the garbage which is strewn everywhere. They walk pitbulls that lunged at my little dog while I was walking her. Very uncomfortable.

There were people out constantly asking for lighters, money etc. the lot was filthy and the room not much better. The beds were awful. Staff on my second night was friendly but the first day I had to wait out in the heat bc the staff was in the bathroom. But I waited 15 min

The room itself was ok. It was clean and bed was comfy, however, tv had a huge line through the middle , its location isn’t the best for both guest to see. There were no bath towels in the room and calling down to office never an answer. But, you get what you pay for. It’s a dry, cool room to sleep in.

First of all I pay for a luxury room the first room they gave me 315 Smells bad cigarette the second one the mattresses I was feeling the springs and my back the AC it was making bad noise loud is about 50 years old. Hopefully I can get that reimbursed.
