Everything was great and clean.

*Our room was spacious, however it needed to be dusted. *The bathroom was very spacious, although during our shower time the water did not drain properly. The water went all over the bathroom floor and into the entry way of the room. This was a very dangerous & slippery situation. *The breakfast area needed attention. The tables were dirty. The hot food containers were empty upon arrival. We had to wait for food to be replenished. *The breakfast host was on his phone and not the guest needs. We had to go looking for him to replenish certain items. However there was a variety of items to choose from.

OK, first the properties actually pretty beautiful and the pool is very huge and nice and well lit. The issue that I had was that I scheduled a king room suite with a pool view and a soaking tub upon arrival and check-in. I was told that my room was not available that there was a problem with the air conditioner. Then, later from another staff member, I found out that there was no problem from the air conditioner however they rented the room to somebody else after I reserved it so beware they put me in a room upstairs which was fine and had one queen bed in the shower. The AC unit barely worked. The refrigerator did not get cold and to top it off. They brought me a rollaway bed, which they promised that check-in however I did not get it until after midnight and I had just drove in all the way from Washington so not the greatest experience they offered to comp me the buffet, but there was no way I'd be waking up that early as I said, I just did an 18 Hour Dr. and the rollaway bed that I slept on I might as well have been sleeping on a gel bench because it is rock hard unless they'd be willing to comp me a king suite the one that I originally requested there's absolutely no way I would recommend anybody stay there

I had an excellent stay! The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout my visit. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Our room was large, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The only drawback was a noisy air conditioner that made loud, intermittent mechanical sounds. The hallways were a little shabby and dark, but the room itself was quite nice.

The property was decorated very nice. It was also very clean. I didn’t mind the location at all. It was really close to everything 10 out of 10.

It was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff was awesome! Only down fall was in the suite we were in the AC did not seem to work properly on the side where the bed was.

We loved the pool, but the restaurant was closed, so breakfast was in a conference room.

Helpful and friendly staff. Short distance to a shopping center and breakfast places. They were able to accommodate me last minute and did an early check in for a small fee. The room was clean and smelled nice. Tv was easy to screencast. Would recommend and will definitely stay there again when visiting Bakersfield!

The receptionist was super nice, however the place is trash, the hallways carpet is dirty and it has a bad smell. On my experience on room 520 on may 30th as soon I walked in the room it had a foul odor which made me open the windows facing the swimming pool. Now im getting charge for cleaning the room which the manager claimed to be “poop” on the carpet after I left the room. How ever after I requested pictures of the supposed “Poop” it was no more no less than a carpet stain which probably was there before my arrival. What really gets me is that, I said to her that doesn’t look like “poop” as described to me over the phone by her the manager of this place. Im upload the picture send to me by the manager for you guys reading this to judge. She is charging $250 dollars for cleaning. I have ask for pictures and a video of the cleaning process that will be take place on room 520. FYI be careful when staying at this round down hotel the manager she is a liar. The manager of this place is a lair Is a low level hotel that smells and the fire exit doors are inop hard to open and take the stairs.

We love the sweet but the only downfall was that we had reserved our room months in advance and when we got there, they only had one room left with only a tub and not a shower so it was very hard for us to take a shower in the tub and hope this never happens again.

Nice big pool area and grounds, but the pool was too cold to use. The front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was just ok. Even though recently renovated, the room had a funky, old, musty smell. The bed was comfortable but didn't have a mattress pad between the sheet and mattress.

This is a gorgeous hotel. Beautiful pool and spa, we really enjoyed our stay. The $15 breakfast buffet was cold and no coffee when we got there.

I like the area. The pool and outdoor atmosphere was great. Room size is good and they were accommodating to which room we wanted. This was our 2nd year staying here for the Raiders event, we were HIGHLY disappointed there was no more breakfast offered for free. Considering the price of the place even a free muffin would've been nice. We asked for 1 towel Saturday morning repeatedly and NEVER got it. My husband and I had to share a towel. We asked for out room to be cleaned hoping while we were working we would get 2 towels.....that never happened. The next morning we asked again for a towel and again nothing. We love this place but the disappointment this visit has made us reconsider next years stay which is a shame.

Was very pleased with my stay. Staff was very helpful and nice. Rooms were clean and well stocked. The pool was big and very well maintained. The only disappointment was told there was a free breakfast but that stopped a few months ago. I would definitely recommend and stay at the hourglass again

I was so impressed with the bed and pillows! Sleep so well , room was clean and felt safe even though the area was maybe jus a little sketch

When I checked in the keys were not working so multiple staff had to open the door each time I went in and out of the room. I was not told you had to ask for your room to be cleaned. Room cleaning is at the guest request. Even then it is a hit or miss. There are no elevators and no porters to help with your bags.

My stay was wonderful! I especially enjoyed the inviting pool and hot tub area set up with so much seating available. It's not a vacation with out the hot tub! They have a gym also. Very clean and welcoming room. The staff was very helpful with everything. I will be back for sure just because it was so nice and the price was right.

The property is a little outdated in style but we still enjoyed it very much. It felt safe and there was a beautiful outside pool area.

It looks like the property is being redeveloped. The lobby was attractive and the outdoor pool , hot tub and fire pit area looked nice, but did not use them. The area had a lot of restaurants and shopping.

The courtyard area was around the pool was a nice place to relax.

We only stayed a night but we will be back next time we stay in Bakersfield. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was gorgeous and clean, but I will warn that the pull out bed is not the most comfortable. We could deal with it for a night but probably wouldn’t be ideal for a several night stay. The pool is 9 feet at the deepest so it was really nice and refreshing to swim in. The jacuzzi is pretty basic but still very enjoyable and a nice temperature. They had games to pay near the pool area. Didn’t have the breakfast but could purchase it for a separate fee. I would recommend!

We like to stay here it’s convenient, but making the reservations thru Expedia we were disappointed because we thought we were getting a jetted jacuzzi tub but found out we did not , and it was upstairs , and we got these lil throw pillows for our king size bed . Again the outdoor jacuzzi was not working . They got rid of the free continental breakfast but now have a pay for breakfast buffet . Some things changed will give it another shot for next weekend . Expedia website had a glitche that would not take my card payment with 2 different perfectly useable cards . And the bot chat was not useful . So I didn’t get a discount for my next booking which is disappointing. Kind of frustrating!

Everything was clean. Only thing that was weird. Breakfast is for free when you book your room. And then in the morning they tell you that they changed it and want to charge you $15 per person. Not very fair.

Complementary breakfast was very good with a number of items to choose from. Checkout was quick and very accommodating. Was surprised to see a pool and hot tub area. Looked very welcoming with excellent surroundings.

The hotel seemed very upscale, and the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. I didn't have time to enjoy the pool, but it looked much bigger and nicer than most hotel pools I've seen. I was only there one night and didn't find anything that I didn't like.

Location Water went off 2nd time without notice during shower. No coordination with guests before doing maintenance or repairs. They provided 4 mineral water bottles to complete shower. Then said they will compensate and did not do so after checkout. Very poor service. Rely on your luck for a good stay.

This hotel was top notch! Very nice for price. From the moment we arrived we were greated and young man at desk was so kind and very helpful with helping us find our room. Even asked what my preference was for a room. When I book through Expedia I'm never given a choice, so this was very impressive to me. Rooms smelled very nice, and extremely clean! We loved the whole experience of hotel. Quiet, comfy beds, and you get $11 food credit with Expedia. Also noticed security, which was very comforting because we were traveling with a car we just picked up. Highly recommend this place. It was next to 3 other chain hotels that were more expensive, we are so happy we chose this one. Great job to staff and management.

We always get a suite and it’s very affordable. Coffee is always good. The soaker tub is nice. A remodel has been done but not a high end one. It’s a fine hotel for out of town work.

Our first room smelled like cigarettes. The staff happily switched us rooms to one that smelled perfectly clean and geavenly. The property is starting to show signs of age and wear/tear. The customer service is phenomenal.

Booked a Suite, I didn't like the fact that it was basically two rooms that was conjoined with access added between the rooms. Secondly, for the price I had expected a better experience. Lastly, I did not like the flimsy security of the sliding doors. And from my room, you could clearly see the whole of the door that could provide access to ants, flies, and mosquitos.

It was a clean property. Breakfast sandwiches are heated inside the plastic! It says on the package to remove from plastic packaging! Housekeepers DO NOT make the beds. I didn’t get my bed done not even once out of the whole week. The room was entered only to change my towels every other day. Other than that they didn’t touch anything or clean anything up. I’ve never had a hotel experience like this.

Uppon arrival jimmy working the front desk was awesome. And the security that was working with him i forgot his name but was awesome as well. We had a little issiue with the fridge not working and they were very fruensly and helpfull we will be back in backersfield every month and this will be our go to hotel

Nothing it was great

The guy who checked in my friend and I was very nice, I believe he said his name was pruneet. But after going out for the night and coming back we saw our door was cracked open. Our belongings were gone through and when we told the larger woman working front desk she was not concerned at all. Just told us to let her know if anything was missing. Fortunately we left nothing of value in the room and nothing was missing just our cards moved around our wallets. We went back to the desk and the tall ginger security guard was nice and concerned. Why did the security guard have to tell the desk lady to switch us rooms when she should have offered it the second we told her of the incident. We were downgraded to an upstairs room when my original booking was for a king suite. After looking at my receipt it seems as though only $18 were refunded. The same guy who originally checked us in was there when we checked out. When we told him the situation he was very considerate and actually seemed to care unlike the woman we had to deal with the night prior. Unfortunately I had to file a police report about the whole thing in concern for my friend and mine’s safety. This was a traumatic experience and I will never be traveling without a man again.

It was the worst place I have been at. The night of of check in, they rented my room to another man and he walked in on us as we were in bed. Staff said the PC was broke. They never cleaned our room, we asked for a touch up and they never came. I had to go get my own towels, TP, empty my own trash. On our last day, they locked me out of our room. Had to go to desk and have the clerk let us in. I was told I would have my stay comped but my card was charged and they would not give me a reciept to confirm the comp. Horrible place!!!

Overall, the stay was okay, but the price felt quite overpriced for what was offered. What they call “breakfast” is honestly difficult to consider a real breakfast — the options were extremely limited. On top of that, the coffee machine was broken the entire morning and no one managed to fix it. For the price they charge, I expected a better experience and more attention to basic amenities.

I stayed in the King Suite for 1 night. It was a beautiful room with plenty of space, super clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean also. Jimmy at the front desk was super helpful at check in. Complimentary parking is a huge plus. Will definitely come back again!

We booked a suite, looking for extra space and relaxation. Unfortunately, it was located across from the laundry facilities where there was constant noise…major noise during the day, starting up again at 3:00 AM. Also, our room had the oddest feature, a window from the bathroom into the bedroom. It was covered with a tinfoil looking substance which was supposed to make it a one way window. Unfortunately, the tinfoil did not work so there was no privacy in the bathroom. The hotel has potential. However, we have recommended to friends that they avoid it and we won’t stay there again.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The TV had some good channels on it and you don't have to login to a subscription, which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location worked well for where I needed to go in Bakersfield. The air con/heater worked well. Shower had good pressure and water temperature was good. I was on the ground floor and the person above me was walking around all night, I could hear them walking and the floor creaking and toilet flushing. The bathroom sink didn't drain well. Shower mat had some mold on the suction cups. When I woke up someone was one the phone talking loudly outside. Breakfast was fine for an included breakfast, it was very minimal, all packaged items.

Free breakfast: Not great. The area was so small, people were standing and eating in the lobby and most items were empty (we went at 730am) so not being refilled. If we had our daughter with us, we would have left. Will not stay again. Wyndham did not live up to their reputation at this location.

I usually always stay at this hotel when I'm in town. I've had to come here several times to visit my in-laws. I would recommend it to other people

Of this place was very nice and clean and a great room and good price for a suite, I’ve upgraded to get the bathtub and it was very worthwhile. I highly recommend. I’d come back to this hotel and I enjoyed the hot tub. Many of the rooms are connected through an outside hallway so keep that in mind with booking if it’s super cold or hot.

The other thing that caught our attention was the lack of a coffee pot in the room. I cannot remember the last time I could not make my own coffee in the morning. Finally, the grab and go breakfast was okay but not pleasing. It just lacked quality and class. Would I stay again? Yes, I would. Good value for the money but I now know what not to expect.

⭐️ 1 Star – Absolutely Terrible Experience I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at Hill Top in Bakersfield. The room I was given had roaches and even blood stains on the lamp covers, which was disgusting and unacceptable. Management was completely unhelpful from start to finish. On top of that, my vehicle was stolen during my stay, and the hotel failed to assist with the investigation. They refused to share the surveillance footage, telling me the cameras are “off site” and only an IT company can access it. I was also told by staff that the cameras don’t even work. For a situation this serious—right before a holiday—this was beyond stressful. I was supposed to stay for 3 nights, but after everything I encountered the first night, I checked out and had to scramble to find another hotel last minute for myself and my family. It was extremely difficult and added even more stress to an already terrible situation. I will NEVER stay here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place for your own safety and peace of mind.

I stood at this place several times the incidental charges were never returned. I had to file a claim and they added an extra $11 for something.

Room was ok but the heater made too much noise. We had about 9 bags and had to lug them up the stairs to the 2nd floor—that was no fun. There was no one to help us with that. Our door didn’t automatically close all the way so someone was able to push our door open when we first got there and hadn’t yet locked it. We stayed there 3 days earlier and it was a much better experience. You really need an elevator to the 2nd floor.

Great stay at Hourglass! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was even located where we could walk to dinner. Great stay, would highly recommend!

I want to encourage people to give this hotel a chance. It is a great value for your trip. It is apparent that the hotel is trying to upgrade and elevate itself. So there are some things that may seem off but cleanliness and staff was perfect. And to me thats paramount. I hope to see them continue investing in themselves and will stay here again. Rooms were large. Property was quiet, and staff friendly.

This place gets a ten out of ten except the breakfast. It was not good. All our other hotels were fantastic and sent you off on your travels satisfied. This place had a lousy breakfast. I would highly recommend the hotel, but warn people not to expect too much of the food

The room smells like smoke. The walls were dirty. The carpet had stains. There was hairs on the bathroom floor behind the door. There was writing with sharpie.

Overall, I’d stay here again for the comfort of the room and bed alone, but I hope the management puts some effort into training the front desk team to match the quality of the rest of the hotel.

The rooms in the freeway side are way too close to the freeway. When we checked out on the way to Bakersfield I asked for a room on the other side of the facility, they told me that it was all taken care of on my return trip. When I checked in tonight they put me in the same room? Told me that there was no other rooms available. Never staying there again.

It was a nice hotel but a little bit dated. We stayed in the suite with a pool view and it was worth the upgrade. Staff was nice, easy check-in, basic continental breakfsst. The pool/spa area was really nice. The cabanas are a nice touch. I would stay here again.

Check in was fast and friendly. Our room was on the second floor. We got a junior suit. One room had a king bed and the other room had a fold out couch. Had to call for bedding for the fold out. Just so everyone knows, the bathroom inside the room with the king bed has a large window where you could see everything that’s going on inside the bathroom. We are happy there was a private bathroom in the other room. For a moment we thought we were going to have to do our business with everybody watching. Bed was firm and very minimal with the furnishings. Balcony was nice. Had sliding glass doors opening up from both rooms to one large balcony. Didn't have time to use the pool or hot tub but they looked nice. The breakfast was awful. The coffee machine didn’t work and they had to keep coming out to fix it. The breakfast was just small Little Debbie type muffins that were old and dry, coffee and juice. There was also orange juice and oatmeal packets but no where to sit to eat. Online check out was easy to use. Overall the motel was older and could have been more comfortable to relax in but we were just there to sleep and shower so I guess it served its purpose.

Love the hour glass…. We have been staying with them since they first opened…. It’s like coming home every time we come down to see family. Rooms are huge two bathrooms when two girls are trying to her ready is the best!!!!! The furniture is comfy and the beds are great!!!! My only complaint would be the shower with the bathtub a nice walk in shower would be amazing as there is already a deep soaking tub in the other bathroom. Staff is great and helpful!!!!! We used to stay at the Hampton but not anymore we always stay at the hour glass…. Thanks for the amazing stay this trip was not a fun one came down to bury my momma and I appreciate the hour glass being a safe comfortable place to be during a hard time.

This hotel is a favorite for the pool size, and it’s 9ft deep which is hard to find nowadays! The rooms are clean and mostly all rooms have a pool view and outside patio which I enjoy having my morning coffee in. Highly recommended!

I was double charged and they couldn't resolve it, that it would take about week to get my money back. I was only pose to be charged or $ 100 hold for the deposit. Cleaner rooms and better lighting and adjustable TV settings. Tv was way too bright at night and volume was overly loud but not clear and understandable.

The pool was amazing! The room showed recent renovations and smelled of cleaner. The bathroom was small & very tight.

This is our new favorite place to stop over in Bakersfield! Despite the nondescript exterior, this is a very nicely updated property. Very clean, comfortable and modern inside. Breakfast options are modest, but ice water, coffee and tea are available any time and they offered us fresh baked cookies at check-in. The large pool is one of the best features.

My big issue was the breakfast by 7:20 AM there was no more milk for the cereals they offer we ask the lady and front desk and they said sorry no more milk like seriously and two the breakfast is really limited only coffee juices and breakfast sandwiches that everyone got sick from thankfully I was the only that didn’t since I only had coffee , we did had a good relaxing time by the pool but the inconvenience of so many men’s that stay there just sit on the balcony and stare at you and your kids just thought it was really weird feeling not comfortable at all till they would go inside there rooms but rooms where clean lobby too but the customer service would be appreciated a bit more a welcome or smile makes a big difference I would like to say one day I’ll visit but not sure with that breakfast and not so friendly welcome would really have to think about it twice .

The hotel was very nice as was the staff. I like how the pool was in the center of the complex with patios for the rooms. The room itself was very spacious and clean. Breakfast the next morning was simple but very good and convenient: breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juices, coffee and tea, and pastries. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of my room but too tired to do much about it last night once we got in around midnight. The staff asked about my stay and I said it was ok. They were genuinely interested in why and when I expressed my concerns they went above and beyond to make it right. I would stay there again.

Nice and clean

This property has potential but has lacked investments. There is no central ac in the building and window units are off until you arrive and turn them on. We stayed on a day that was 102, so the room never got cool. There are no elevators to the second floor, only stairs. You can request a lower level though the pool area is very noisy. During our stay there was a group partying with a speaker playing music. Generally not a big deal but the music wasnt young kid appropriate. The beds have the cheapest small throw pillows from ikea, with no actual bed pillows available. Overall it is the worst stay of the trip.

The front of the building is in nice shape, but the rest of the exterior looks a bit tired / unused / boarded up. Location is extremely convenient, if a bit bleak.

What a fabulous hotel. Very friendly staff, amazing pool and even has laundry facilities which was great as on round trip. Pool was super quiet during day so we took the opportunity to chill for the day. Great location on outskirts of Bakersfield. Huge pool surrounded by a tightly trimmed lawn, places to sit and relax everywhere including a couple of chairs outside each room. Everything is newly renovated and has the new hotel scent. Fitness center has a couple of treadmills and free weights. Definitely would stay again.

Awesome, friendly staff at the desk. 24-hour coffee. Sweet pool with covered seating areas. Best of all there was always great music playing in the lobby: Reggae, Reggaeton, Manu Chao, etc. Just dope Latin/World music 24/7, also pumped through speakers out at the pool. Just solid vibes throughout.

Nice hotel for a quick business trip I had. Only recommendation would be a better breakfast offering.

Overall okay for a one night stay. WiFi is not reliable, keeps disconnecting. The hotel does not have an elevator, so be prepared to carry your luggage upstairs on your own.

I don’t think there is a high in property to stay at in town. All hotels are gathered in a common spot. The property could be updated, but the huys at front desk are fantastic. Way better service than a high in facility.

This place was appalling. I use a cane, and they put me on the second floor in the back of the building. There was no elevator. I talked to the manager about it, and he just laughed. He said that the hotel was built before 1970 so that they were exempt. Really? I also said that they claim they serve breakfast, and they did not. He said their kitchen wasn’t open. It would be in a couple weeks. Zero empathy. The room was OK, but you could not pay me to stay here again.

We had a 3 night stay here and enjoyed it, seems to be in a nicer area of town and the service was good. That being said the breakfast is poor (weird little warmed up sandwiches) and I am not a fan of having to ask for the room to be cleaned every day. but the beds were comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, rooms are nice but I did find 2 pincher bugs in the bathroom.. kinda gross. The front staff isn’t the most welcoming but check in was super easy, and the rooms had a ton of space. They did have free breakfast which, wasn’t a baggie selection but not bad at all. Overall a 4/5 stay, just minor things that I didn’t like but I would book with them again
