The DoubleTree Bakersfield was an okay to good stay. The outside grounds could be a bit more cared for.

No microwave in room.

Lady at front desk was very welcoming and sweet. Very easy to check in and out. Very clean! Plenty of parking.

Staff and Room was great. Hotel is very large and a bit difficult to navigate through but other than that, its a very pleasant hotel to stay at.

That there was enough parking, slots lots of ice machines inside the hallways. A very nice and clean swimming pool for the families to enjoy. But the most important was the security entrance doors as well the room doors with 2 safety locks. Thank you!!

Fantastic hotel, I love it every time I stay!

The hotel is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. It’s close to a lot of good restaurants and places to shop. I also feel that is very safe to stay there.

Perfect as a stop for driving on a roadtrip, good room for a night of sleep. Pool side room was quite, good bed and nothing more. Don’t expect to do much in the area, or see around.

My husband and son had a GREAT time at the hotel. It was such a lovely stay. They didn’t want to leave. My son loved using the gym, and spent a lot of his down time using it. They had a great time. Room was super nice and felt very fancy. They will stay there again.

Bed was comfortable and the towels were soft. Three stars though because the paper coffee cups had a bunch of filth inside it that made it unsuitable to make coffee with. The room also had a really bad odor to the bedding and the carpet. It was almost like a wet dog smell combined with wet garnets that stayed in the washer for far too long and started to mold instead of going into the dryer immediately. Highly recommend carpet cleaner.

The breakfast voucher lets you order anything off the menu. The room was clean, comfortable and pretty large for 2 queens.

Only problem is both times I stayed there this week the digital key would not work after I checked in so I had to go to front desk to check in and the room I was told I would get online is not the room they gave me. Other than that its always nice at a Double Tree.

I loved the indoor plants and the landscaping around the property. (I watched hummingbirds in the bushes during my workout. ☺️) The pool area was okay, not many chairs but clean. The gym was good, too. We didn’t have time to enjoy the bar and we ate at a nearby restaurant so I can’t speak to that. My only mild complaints are slightly worn/torn hallway carpets with a bit of a musty smell and the elevator is painfully slow. Not a deal breaker though. Very nice, we’d stay again.

We loved our staycation here. It was quiet and roomy. I think the only thing they can improve on is the WiFi. We didn’t have a connection. That was kind of a downer. But, otherwise great experience.

Unfortunately, this time, people got rowdy in the hotel parking lot overnight. I woke up Saturday morning to find some overnight partiers left trash (a beer can and snack wrappers) scattered and a big dent in my car as well. When I went to the front desk, they told me the manager was not in until Monday, and they'd call me back. I did not notice any calls, so I called back today. The front desk forwarded me to the manager, who did not pick up. The parking lot cameras are useless, and the security is ineffective. I'm disappointed because I really liked this place, but I will have to find a new go-to Bakersfield hotel now.

On my second night, while I was in the bedroom, I saw a massive cockroach. I completely panicked as I really hate insects, especially cockroaches. It happened around midnight and I immediately called the front desk. To their credit, the staff handled it quickly and allowed me to change to another room, which I appreciated. Before that incident I actually liked the room. It was spacious and when I first saw it I thought it was nice. However, after seeing the cockroach it completely changed my perception of the stay. It made me question how clean the hotel really was, and unfortunately it really put me off for the rest of my time there. I want to be fair and say that the staff were helpful in the moment and did move me to another room quickly, but the experience itself definitely affected my overall impression.

The room was clean and neat and spacious however, they placed us on the side of the hotel that directly faces the on-ramp to the 99 freeway. All night long we heard motorcycles gunning their engine to get onto the freeway along with diesel trucks and we thought to ourselves is this because we’re not Hilton members would status? Why would they put us in such a horrible place when the hotel clearly wasn’t that full. Another surprise was the buffet breakfast was $21 a person. Upon inspection. It was no better than a comfort Inn buffet breakfast so we skipped it all together.

Excellent in 90% plus aspects! Tub needed a rubber or some other material pad to prevent slipping. I am 81 years old and very flexible and mobile! I never slipped in any tubs in my entire life before showering in my hotel room. I raised my arms to adjust the shower head and my weight shifted and both of my legs slipped on the tub base and fell totally backwards and sideways entirely out of the tub and onto the bathroom floor. Fortunately I held my head up and prevented my head from hitting the floor. I got up fine and went back into the tub and put the shower curtain together again and finished my shower. No problems or pains resulted…so far. A mat probably would have helped!

Little things matter. Like, getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and having a small nightlight (one that won't wake up my spouse) go on automatically to light my way in an unfamiliar room. Beautiful! Can't think of anything.

I've stayed here plenty of times and never had a problem with it. This is the first time I get a room that smells like cigarettes, bathroom door doesn't close, the doors to go in n out of the facility to the parking lot don't work, and their were no ice machines on the floor I was on. Also didn’t get the cookies that they hand out. Won't be coming back

WORST HOTEL I’VE EVER BEEN TO! They backtracked on a promise to refund me because of an early departure, amenities were awful, bed was beyond uncomfortable, and pillows hurt my head. I am never staying again and would urge anyone to AVOID this place.

This was our 3rd year staying at the Doubletree in Bakersfield during our Christmas holiday. This is beautiful hotel that is well maintained. It’s a convenient location right off the highway, close to many good restaurants. The rooms are large, clean and have all the modern amenities you would expect from a first class hotel. The bath had a powerful shower head, with great water flow. Most importantly, the room rates are reasonable. We highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were friendly, enjoyed the warm cookie! The room was clean. One of the black out curtains was catching and it was difficult to open and close. In the fitness center the treadmill buttons looked worn out so I was hesitant to use it.

The room was not clean!

Its 2am and I cant sleep, cant wait to get up and leave, room 473 not what I expected. Paid $180 and I can smell 180 other peoples body odors, and clearly these sheets and carpet have not been touched in several months. Very dissapointed. Hair on the counters ans after reporting it, they said they would send someone to clean the room, when I return the hair is still there, counters and toilet were obviously not wiped sown.

Staff didn’t communicate with coworkers. Front desk person was rude and acted as if she couldn’t be bothered. Breakfast was very expensive and only had 5 options on the buffet.

First room had mold mildew smell. Changed rooms second room had blood on sheets that I didn’t notice till 3am bathroom full of aunts.

Everything was great. The property is close to freeway which is good for travel, but a little noisy from the freeway.

Found a long hair in a fresh towel; the AC didn’t work as expected: only two body sized towels provided, there should’ve been more; one of the elevators was out of order, we had to walk a long way to the room; the welcoming cookies were available before 3 PM on the next day.

The tv remote did not work and the front desk was no help to replace batteries or remote

Check in person gave us a room that required a lot of walking from parking lot even when I mentioned my husband was handicapped.and on walker. We’re both in mid-late 80’s. I later walked back to desk to ask for a suitcase cart so I could load stuff from car. They had none available. I stood around the desk thinking they were in process to find me one for about 20 minutes without any recognition or updates on what they were doing about it. Finally, I asked again and they said they didn’t know where they could find one. I then asked the man who originally checked us in if they could please give us a room closer to the door at least so we didn’t have to walk so far to our room. He originally said there was nothing else available. But about 5 minutes later, the other check in guy found us a room right next to the door. I walked back to the room without a cart requesting they call me if they found one (which they never did). I then proceeded to use my husbands walker to make a few trips from the car to the closer room to carry our needed stuff. I did the same thing the next morning to take our stuff back to car using his walker to lift. After breakfast and as we were walking out the door to leave, the original guy who checked us in came running up to me asking if I needed a cart?!?! Of course, I said “it’s too late”! He then apologized profusely for what happened the day before while covering his name badge with his hand. My comment to him was “bad scene”!

They only had a limited amount of rooms available and they were far from the parking thru one build outside past the pool then in thru another door to find the area where the rooms were located . Heard freeway traffic all night . The staff was very friendly and professional. Rooms were clean

I would have given an excellent if the elevator at our end of the building was in service. After we checked in we drove to one side of the building and took the elevator to our floor. We lugged our baggage around 3 long hallways to our room. My huband went back and moved the car to our side of the building. The rest of our stay we climbed up and down 4 flights of stairs 16 steps per floor. Thank God we are seniors in good shape. No complaints with the room or common areas. All clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and professional. Decent restaurant and servers were very good. Ample parking. Good location. Quiet room in spite of being next to the 99. Of course we lugged our bags down the steps when we were checking out.

It was an okay stay. The shower had major draining issues and a bunch of rust and other gunk came up the drain multiple times. The bottles of shampoo/conditioner were empty so we couldn’t really shower. Everything else was fine, clean enough.

Double tree needs to care about his reputation. Obviously they bought over a failed Hilton, Hotel, the parking and the room layout is similar to a motel six where you check in one place and you drive around to where your room is very shabby my room which was adequate, had a bathtub and a shower, but I swear I could not find a way to make that shower work, so consequently, I wasn’t able to clean properly. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels in my life. This is the first time that’s ever happened.

I was given a key to to my room and it was for someone else’s room they were already inside. It was very embarrassing and I had my children with me. All I was told the rooms got mixed up.

An older property.

Our only complaint is when the soccer or baseball or football kids are using our hotel. The rates are ridiculous (which has made us look at other hotels in the area and using them) plus the kids running up and down the hallways late at night had definitely driven us to other hotels. Things need to change before we can come back. We aren’t the only ones complaining about this. We meet fellow hotel guests at Black Angus and all complain

Only had coffe in the morning. Breakfast looked amazing

You can see the dirt build up all along the carpited areas aginst the floorboards. We encountered a couple of homeless outside in and near the parking. Our second night the water was not warm or hot but cold meaning showers had to wait. But the worst is the elevator, it broke down with us as guests abd a child in the elevator. 15 minutes in they still had not figured out how to get us out and the other guest trapped in the elevator had to call 911 to get us help. When we were finally able to get out there was no one from the hotel there to check on us just the firemen and EMTs and come to find out there was no manager or supervisors even on site.

Spacious rooms and hotel lobby. Very friendly staff, easy check in. Only downfall was the elevator broke down, fortunately we were only one floor up so it wasn't too hard on my older mother with us.

The only reason why I didn’t give my stay a 5 start this time was that my daughter asked for 4 cookies since there were 4 of us. The lady at the front desk said she wasn’t able to give 4 only 2. What? I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and never been told this before. But beside that nice hotel. Clean.

Huge property. It seemed clean to me. Pool was great. Jacuzzi’s jets were broken and had water flying in the air. I was disappointed that there was no vending machines available with this being such a big property. The had a little snack store next to check-in. However the prices were expensive ($5 for coke, $9 for smart water). They had a security guy walking around property, which was good. Hotel is located directly behind the 99 freeway.

Our room was in the back and had a lot of highway noise. Pretty run down for a double tree. Maybe a room around the pool courtyard would be quieter.

Lady who help me when I checked in wasn’t to nice or didn’t give me the cookies for checking in then next day when checking out I told the other staff member the lady didn’t give me any cookies and he just handed them too me with no words not really friendly .

1) that there was only one elevator so we had to park in back only to walk back to the front area for the fourth fl. 2) the hallways were extremely hot! The housekeeping staff were dripping sweat. 3) the room was just as hot. We cranked the AC but it took until evening before it cooled down. I will say it was 98 degrees out.

On sept 14 we try to check out. There was a note at the counter saying I will return but we waited for over 30 minutes and no one showed up. Seems kind of weird what they would not have a back up if someone had to leave for something.

Tesla chargers were great; room was comfortable and near enough to conveniences.

Also you should rename your “Gift shop” to “Snack shop” there is NO gift shop. Nice pools, clean grounds and quiet.

This is an absolute huge property, the only negative was the distance from check in to our room. They have one very small elevator, quit a distance from the front desk. Aside from that, it's an impressive facility.

The flapper in the toilet was leaking so every once in a while, the water would try to fill the tank making a loud ripping squeaking sound that was in room 182. I forgot to tell him about it as a plumber. I just turned off the water supply and turned it back on when I left.

Normally I love staying here but this time I had the air conditioning on 60 which normally cools the room but didn’t and the tub wouldn’t plug reason I stay here cause they have a tub

There was a non functioning telephone in the room and the maintenance person gave an unsatisfactory reason why.

Excellent place to stay, hwy 99 it literally right behind in a convenient area too.

Staff did not give me an internet access code when I checked in. They had to come to the room to give me access. In the room the rug is dark and dirty looking, the TV didn’t work, there is no microwave and the curtains do not work well.

Property was clean, room a/c worked nicely, and mattress was comfortable.

Check in was easy, they give you and your family a free warm cookie for staying at their hotel. My room had a balcony which was very nice. Room was very specious as well. Really enjoyed my stay.

Our room was nice and spacious. The hallways and elevator were not very air conditioned, and in 97 degree weather you’d think that would be taken care of. When we checked in I had mentioned my husband has difficulty walking and yet they directed us to an entrance that was all stairs and no ramp available. I thought all entrances needed to be ADA compliant? If not, they should have put us in a room near easy entry.

Did not like that there was no cleaning service because my stay was longer than one night and I had to call and wait awhile. Also, no continental breakfast included or a microwave in the room.

We stayed 3 nights and we only had enough room coffee for 1 morning, which required a walk to restaurant! So more coffee please:)

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was Easter, so not much was open in the area, but we appreciated the pool and jacuzzi being open until 10 pm. It was a nice way to relax after a very long day. I only wish the bar had been open later as well.

The room was very nice. Went downstairs for dinner. Dinner was great. Service was great. My all-around experience was great.

Once in the room I was disappointed to only find 2 towels, our reservation was for 4 people. My favorite thing about staying at a Doubletree is the cookies, so I was disappointed to receive burnt ones. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

I received an invoice from Hilton that was in error and called the number listed to the front desk. Spoke to a lady who was extremely rude. She repeatedly told me to work through Expedia on the error (even though the invoice came directly from Hilton). Zero accountability, and no desire to help. But I did contact Expedia, and they were extremely easy and great to work with, as always.

I stayed the night, and there is plenty commercial area for shopping and dining.
