Was given the wrong room. Paid more for a better room but didn’t get it. Paid for late check out, but was called and texted anyway, so didn’t get the extra sleep I paid for. Additionally housekeeping was banging on the door as if I had not previously paid for the late check out. Property in general was much too loud. Will NEVER stay here again! Paid for creek view, but could not see creek from our supposedly private porch that I paid extra for and did not get. NEVER AGAIN!!

Beautiful river view with balcony. Delicious burger and fries at Ripples and Roots with attentive staff. Need a big appetite for breakfast brunch. Would go back without hesitation.

Lake views were nice. However trying to park our truck in the garage was impossible. We were then asked to park at an adjacent parking spot and we received a big warning tow away ticket. We decided to go back to valet and they refused to valet. So now we have no where to park. We asked the valet manager what other options are there to park. He said to park in first level of valet. But man it was such a pain so don’t bring your big rig here. Construction everywhere and the neighboring buildings arent friendly. If you have a big truck don’t stay here! Otherwise was a decent stay. A little overpriced and overcrowded in my opinion.

The staff in the grocery market were very kind. It’s lackluster. It lacks elegance and sophistication that is associated with the hotels name. The staff was disinterested. The room was basic and it was the same as my stay at the Courtyard Marriott. The HR was $520. The CM was $100. I’d never recommend the Hyatt Regency.

Large array of different foods at the breakfast bar. Wait staff was the very best, even on the busy Easter weekend—especially Tamara.
- 3/5
Horrible check-in experience, the absolute worst. I was told my room had been given away, that they were overbooked, that they'd send me to another hotel away from seeing the bats. I reserved the room a whole year ago and the credit card I reserved with had been stolen. While they texted me about my arrival time they never gave me a chance to update the card.

Brooke at the front desk was fantastic. We upgraded to a top floor corner room. The renovated hotel looks amazing. The room was clean and modern. Check in and check out were easy and going in and out of the parking garage was simple once you got a barcode from the front desk. Bad: We had lukewarm hot water almost the entire time. Even when we did have hot water, it would only last for five minutes or so before it got lukewarm at best. My wife is a hot shower kind of person and so she was dismayed when we got back to the room every night and she was having to freeze her way through a shower. Also, the shower leaked like crazy. It’s made up of two panes of glass with one of the panes on a track system so you can close it. However, in the middle, where the panes overlap, there’s a 1 1/2 inch gap where no matter how careful you are, water escapes and gets all over the bathroom floor. So, every shower requires a towel being placed on the floor which is then literally sopping wet by the time you’re done. It was expected but parking is pretty expensive. I don’t think anybody’s a fan of paying $55 a day to self park your car in a garage. Hotel seemed to be mostly business travelers. I think if you’re traveling for business and you’re just using your room to sleep and are up and out in the morning it’s just fine. However, we were there in vacation and wanted to sleep in occasionally. Unfortunately, the atrium design seems to be inherently loud by itself. By 8 everyone up.

The first night was peaceful, but protests took place every night afterward and are scheduled to continue for another 13 days. From approximately 7:00–10:00 p.m., there is significant noise unless your room is on the opposite side of the hotel with no view. I was also disappointed by the extra convenience fees applied when charging items to the room. Paying additional fees simply for the convenience of room charging felt unnecessary. Pro tip: use your credit card throughout the hotel and do not charge purchases to your room. I do want to give a shoutout to Julia (Night AGM), Eli (Guest Relations Manager), Austin (Front Desk), Chriss (Bellman), Leo (front desk) all of the valet staff & housekeeping, and Mikaela (front desk) for their excellent service. There is also a gentleman who works evenings in the coffee shop who was very kind—I regret not catching his name. Federal Agents and government entities stay here frequently, so be aware that there is a higher police presence, additional security checks, and ongoing protests outside the hotel. Given the current situation and overall disruption, the stay was not worth the price.

Clean rooms, beds were very comfortable and staff was excellent! The bar or first floor restaurant was severely understaffed. One bartender who also served as the waiter. He had his hands full and could have used more help. This was not what I’d expect from a Hyatt Regency.

Excellent hotel - renovation nearly complete. Highlights - big lobby area and bar; location next to the river paths, downtown and South Congress; views from river facing rooms; incredibly comfortable beds; great convenience store and very helpful/ friendly staff. There’s major construction happening behind the outdoor swimming pool but difficult to avoid in central Austin!

Literally the view was the only good thing. Even the oce maker was out of service. Had to go to a different floor for ice.

Great room with a nice balcony that overlooks the lake and downtown. Close enough to walk to SoCo and downtown. There is also a kayak SUP rental facility on the walking trail behind the hotel. It was under construction when I stayed so it wouldn’t be fair to point only to that which was my only complaint. The pool however could have been upgraded and it’s possible it will be but such a great location it needs a premium pool space for guests

We love staying at the Hyatt regency but this was the first time it was under construction and lots of noise so disappointing ! Lots of shopping and good restaurants near by can walk into city great location !! Once the construction is done I am sure it will be amazing !!
- 5/5
Even though undergoing renovations, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well cared for. The renovation was minimally disruptive and there was nothing to detract from our enjoyment of our stay. Huge kudos to all the staff!!
- 2/5
Very inconvenient, I did get an email that was some Contruction in the Hotel, but I am not able to walk long distance. to go to the second floor to check in you have to use the stairs; to go to the pool area, there's only stairs very inconvenient but the price still the same.
- 1/5
Did not comp parking for guests
- 1/5
The whole building was under construction (yes we received an email stating that) but we had no clue the extend of it. The hotel bar was not open, the entrance to sit outside/walk towards the trail was blocked off. The gym was open but you had someone working right outside. We were woken up every morning @7am to loud noises & had no hot water the whole trip. We tried communicating through the text portal on the water situation and no one ever checked in. We ended up going to the hotel across the street for food and drinks the two nights we were there love LINE!

Under construction at the time of our stay, so a lot of dust in the air and on surfaces. Extra cleaning would have been nice to see, but other than that, everything else was nice.

We had a reservation for Saturday, 14 June 2025 my wife and I were celebrating our 26th Wedding Anniversary. When we made the reservation we had no idea of the "No Kings Protest" scheduled for that same day. The day we were to head out to Austin we heard reports of violence and chaos erupting around Austin. My wife was apprehensive and did not feel that it was safe to go into that area. The hotel refused to refund our money.
- 5/5
Clean spacious rooms, beautiful pool, well equipped gym. The only downside is the amount per night to park. It has gone up tremendously in the past few years. 55 for self park, 63 for vallet. This is probably the deal breaker for us to return

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration following my recent stay at your property last week. As a guest who expected the level of comfort and professionalism typically associated with the Hyatt brand, my experience was far from acceptable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this stay would be subpar. The noise levels were outrageous—not only from disruptive guests at all hours of the night, but also from construction activities that made it virtually impossible to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. There was no prior warning or courtesy notice about ongoing renovations, which is simply inexcusable. In addition, the water pressure in the bathroom was shockingly low, making basic hygiene a frustrating task. Worse still, my room was not cleaned properly. Trash had not been emptied, surfaces were dusty, and it was obvious the space had not been thoroughly maintained. This reflects extremely poor housekeeping standards. Altogether, the conditions made my visit stressful, uncomfortable, and frankly unacceptable. I selected the Hyatt Regency because I trusted your reputation for quality and hospitality, and this experience completely shattered that expectation. I request a prompt explanation for these issues and a formal apology, along with information on how you intend to make this right. A stay like this is not what I paid for, and I believe compensation is warranted. I hope you take this matter seriously, as I will certainly consider other

Very clean and spacious hotel. Currently under construction, but not a big deal. It was walking distance to the Palmer center, which is what I wanted. Overall, would stay again
- 5/5
Stay was amazing. They 100% disclosed they had construction going on so I’m not upset about it in any way, just wanted to make it clear they have the check in upstairs and some floors are closed.
- 3/5
The remodel process is very disruptive unfortunately. Had I known how much of the property was impacted, I would have looked elsewhere. Also, parking is not included and is over $50 per day in the adjacent garage.
- 1/5
The hotel was under construction. It should NOT be taking bookings. I only found out after I booked and it was non-refundable.
- 5/5
Everything was good just the whole renovation stuff but I would stay again for sure
- 5/5
Hotel is under renovation so quiet and condition was understandable to be not up to standards. I thought the bed was too hard, my husband was very comfortable in it. Personal preference here. But kudos for keeping everything clean and staff is awesome. Although there are signs for direction it was still somewhat confusing. All will be solved and this hotel will be great once renovations are complete.
- 5/5
This hotel is along the water. You can get on a swan paddle boat or a short walk to downtown. A beautiful well manicured park is nearby to unwind and watch the dogs play. Definitely a great place to stay.
- 5/5
Everything was good except there was construction going on in the hotel. Also they had a loud music due to them hosting a prom and a band booster banquet. Other than that it’s a nice hotel and it’s in a great location.

Under full construction!!!
- 3/5
The hotel was under renovation and getting around was cumbersome and the directions were less than helpful. We had to get up early to catch an early flight, but there was no hot water. After letting it run for 10 minutes, still no hot water. The front desk brushed it off as a result of low occupancy and that I should have let it run longer. They offered to send a maintenance engineer up, but it was early and we would have missed our flight. Besides, what was the engineer tell me what we already knew. This could have been handled so much better and I expected more from the Hyatt chain. I'll stay at one of the other wonderful hotels in Austin next time.
- 5/5
Beautifully located and hotel is gorgeous.

My stay was very amazing and relaxing.
- 5/5
I love that I could walk to the Reggae Festival from the hotel.
- 4/5
Have chosen Hyatt Regency's in the past with the added view of the glass elevators, nice feel Unfortunately during our visit the restaurant was under construction, so the glass was covered up to hide the construction, We choose a room with a balcony, was very happy with the view and size, relaxing stay
- 5/5
It was awesome, centrally located, good food and very nice hotel.
- 1/5
There was Prom celebrations in the reception halls. One would think that the hotel would place the young adults all on the same floor(s) to limit disruption to the other guests, that was not the case - Friday and Saturday night were unacceptable and calls to the front desk went unanswered! 1/2 hour after checkout, I realized I forgot my jacket in the room so I called the hotel 3x but no answer at the front desk so was rerouted to Lost Item automation. I made a report and also sent the hotel a message thru the Expedia app but have not received any reply thru either method. Overall, very poor standards for a Hyatt Regency!
- 2/5
Very disappointing
- 5/5
The hotel is in a great location, has excellent staff, and my room was very clean and up to date. There is construction going on, but it really didn’t impact me outside of the confusing entrance situation. Other than that, it was fantastic. It’s literally right on the running trail that is parallel with the river, so the running options are phenomenal.
- 5/5
Nice staff and clean room
- 3/5
Parking staff was excellent.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. One of the most upsetting moments happened when a man was sitting in the hallway and began shouting hateful, racist remarks toward me, my brother, and my mother, including “Welcome to America, b*tch” and other anti-Asian slurs. This happened right in the hotel hallway, and there were people around who clearly heard it. No one stepped in or addressed it. I don’t expect free things, but I do expect a safe and respectful environment for the price I paid. I also understand renovations are necessary, and I even decided not to cancel my stay despite knowing they were happening because I’m a business owner too and I try to support others. But starting construction noise at 9 AM, especially when we’re on vacation and hoping to sleep in a bit, was incredibly disruptive. It felt like someone was banging directly above our heads. I brought this up to the front desk upon checkout, and the response I received was, “Well, you’re checking out anyway.” That lack of empathy was shocking. I’m writing this not because I want compensation or perks.I just want what I paid for: a peaceful, welcoming, and respectful experience. I hope this feedback helps improve things for future

Being under revovation is one thing, but to have nothing to offer in the way of ammenities and conveniece is not acceptable. The restaurant was substandard at best. Great view, but food seemed to be served from a steam table with all the condensation sogging the bread sandwich was served on. Having every access door locked but a small vestibule that was moulding and unventilated was ridiculous. It was a cold weekend and there was no heating in the lobby.... Just unacceptable!
- 3/5
Upon arrival, there was NO ONE at the valet station (it was about 10 pm on a cold evening). While attempting to park in a second floor valet area, a valet appeared, took care of the car, then brought us a cart as there were no bellmen available at all. Parking for two nights was just under $200 including tips which you must perform electronically prior to being able to retrieve your car. There was absolutely nothing about the service that could warrant prices paid for very few services offered. It was a very disappointing birthday weekend

When booking this room through Expedia I was dooped into thinking the room I was reserving had a balcony. When I arrived at check-in I was extremely dissatisfied to find I was not getting what I “thought” I was getting. Unfortunately I was also unable to upgrade. This room was near the elevator and could hear people come and go and the room got hot through the night. There were other hotels near by that had a balcony and would have chose those if I knew I would be stuck with something I didn’t want.

This room was near the elevator and could hear people come and go and the room got hot through the night. There were other hotels near by that had a balcony and would have chose those if I knew I would be stuck with something I didn’t want.

I'll start with the more limited pros: -Our balcony and river view were awesome -Staff was friendly (front desk, housekeeping, and bellman) -Easy access to the trail that runs along the river right behind the hotel -Easy access to Congress St. bridge Now the cons: -When we booked their trip it said there was a Starbucks on site. Come to find out, it closed several months ago. -The layout of the hotel with the atrium style meant that the higher floors can hear the happenings of the lower floors and lobby at all hours... not great for when there was a giant conference happening at the hotel and folks partying until the wee hours. -The tap water had a very odd taste to it, that unfortunately can even be tasted when ordering coffee from the on-site market/coffee shop. -Pool was closed for construction... couldn't even access the pool deck. Not ideal for our stay with temps in the low to highs 80s. -Our wifi was super spotty and didn't work almost the entire time we stayed. It definitely would not connect long enough for us to use the Netflix or anything on the tv. -It was pricy! For all the cons, I'd say our stay was definitely not worth the price we paid. We essentially paid a premium for a river view, since we didn't get the Starbucks, a pool, or even working wifi during our trip. While we still enjoyed our trip for the most part, despite the cons related to the hotel stay, I likely would not stay at this hotel again.

This is my 3rd stay at this property. It is a great place and we had an excellent room (1501) which overlooked the river and skyline. Only negative is there is not a lot around the property that easy to walk to especially during the freezing temps that we experienced. During the warmer months walking to restaurants and attractions is easier. This hotel is also excellent if you are traveling during the Bat viewing months as the bridges that the bat nest is right next to the hotel and the boat tours are also docked right outside the hotel.

Its location next to the river, and walking distance to downtown and old market, made the hotel my favorite hotel to stay in for the last 8 years. Not to mention the professional staff. The valet and self parking however is expensive in my opinion.

View and comfort was fabulous. Had a corner room with an amazing view on the 10th floor. Only downside, Windows had so much moisture on the inside we had to continually wipe them down.

Ok stay, check in could be greatly improved, no info provided regarding amenities or special events. Later in the week we realized that there was a complimentary celebration in the restaurant lobby. Anyway, location was good, hotel parking can be pricey, so do your homework and you can find cheaper parking one block away

Love this property in Austin. We come to spend a week or so here every year and the location is perfect. The staff are all so friendly. It’s walkable and safe. It’s generally quiet but they host conventions around the holidays so that brings some noise but nothing unbearable. Still my favorite place to stay. And will definitely be back for the holidays this year.

Hotel MGMT needs to remember that they have job because of customers and take care of us when they make a mistake. Sadly, that was not the case during this stay at the Hyatt Regency in Austin. Do better.

Compared to other Hyatt Regency’s Austin is a bit old and tired. Still better than most hotels but old and tired none the less. Service was a let down. We got our own bags from the car and up to our room. We got in late so elected not to bother with room cleaning service next morning but didn’t see anyone the following day either so in the end we had a three night stay without any service in our room. No linen change, no bin emptying, nothing. When our car was blocked in by a bus the staff told us “that’s not their problem “. Location was great, parking charges ridiculous for somewhere where parking is available anywhere. Overall okay but expected more at the price.

I booked a room with double beds and a balcony facing downtown for my daughter's 19th birthday. She and her friend loved it so much, the pool and hot tub overlooks downtown, and they had several other amenities. I was pleased when I walked into the room and they had chocolate covered strawberries with a little 'happy birthday' card for my daughter. I had asked for that in the notes section when I booked through hotels.com but failed to call ahead of time to see if they could accommodate that, but they saw my note and did it. I feel like the staff went above and beyond what other hotels do. I look forward to booking more staycations here.

I love the property and have stayed there many, many times over the past 20+ years. Staff is great, location amazing, cleanliness is wonderful and there's new carpet and some design improvements but the property (design/ architecture) is getting old. Not sure how to correct it but this is maybe the best location in Austin.

We typically stay here twice every year. It’s like an oasis. Exceptional service by the parking staff Jay and Chriss and the bar staff. Housekeeping and laundry service is fantastic. Front desk check-in this time not as welcoming and informative as usual but once we were at our room we experienced the same high quality as we have come to expect from this hotel.

Everyone was so kind and helpful. And the sugar pearl waffles are amazing. Eat the breakfast buffet there. It's worth the money.

I would like at least one soft pillow per bed. Pillows were large and firm. Also walls were thin - there was a young child crying quite a bit in the adjacent room. Perhaps try not to put very young children in rooms with connecting doors.

Nice big hotel on the river and it is an easy walk across either bridge into downtown Austin. Rooms are big, comfortable and quiet. Good TV. Nice coffee shop (a bit expensive) and the bar does what the bar should do. I didn't need much from the staff but they seemed efficient and friendly. The place was really well run. Would benefit from having more information about Austin available to those from out of town / state.

The balcony was not private like i saw online and the bugs were so bad that I couldnt enjoy it. The view was pretty but was not able to enjoy the balcony at all. Also on the 3rd floor (rooms with the balcony) Its noisy. The bar area gets loud even on weekdays and at 11pm could still hear them. Same thing with the boats outside. They played loud music and could hearvit in the room. The floors definitely need a deep cleaning. Staff was great.
