Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the hotel's location and cleanliness, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. However, there are frequent complaints about the high cost of parking, the quality of the pillows and beds, and issues with the hotel's amenities such as the pool, gym, and restaurant. Some guests also express frustration with the slow or unresponsive customer service.

I didn't like the woman who answered the phone when I called to ask for anything she would daub" it's you again" like I was bugging

Great location easy to get around If not using valet parking service we were forced to unload our own luggage from the car park which was very hot and quite a way from the lifts to access our room. One lift from car park to lobby then push trolley with luggage through lobby to lifts to room

Had a great stay, nice hotel and close to everything. Only downfall, We upgraded to suite and I was surprised to see how dusty the furniture was which gave me bad allergies as well as when upgrading from premier room we lost the $25 credit food/beverage which I felt should of been taken off from the upgrade price

Location good, nice views, bed very good, good breakfast The shower handles were not practical, and on the last day they didn’t work properly. There was a very large event, and the wait times for the elevator were extremely long. The meeting room had very uncomfortable chairs. I found it too expensive.

Great location and fair price. Beds are really comfortable but the bathrooms are tiny. Overall the facility is good but everything seems sort of dated….with new Austin Civic Center going up next door the Hilton should remodel itself.

Location No entertainment, staff at restaurants were not friendly and fair. Bed linens are dull and used up. Towels were ruff and used up. Nothing fresh and inviting about the room or bathroom. My room was cleaned the first night but not on Sunday. Just had a very bad experience. Need to improve for the value.

location, gym and restaurant on site. Customer service was aware that the reservations from booking.com were not importing properly however they did not take the time in advance to add the missing reservations. Instead it took 30+ minutes to check in while they manually added them. I made the reservation a day in advance, they could have handled it overnight or in the AM. We had 3 rooms and all of us had a bad customer service experience. On top of the uncomfortable up-sale from the Hilton Honors desk people. They made you feel like you were doing a time share presentation when just trying to get to your room. Lack of cleaning maintenance. Very dusty vents buildup in bathroom.

This hotel is tired and probably the worst Hilton I have ever stayed at, rooms more like a budget hotel, staff miserable and do not understand service, worst breakfast we have ever had. Would recommend finding somewhere else
- 2/5
I liked the pool I was told I would have $15 a day for breakfast and then after I spent the money was told I was not eligible because I didn't book through Hilton. Then they wouldn't do anything to make it right.

There was some dance competition in town so a lot of young people having fun. We didn’t mind but our neighbor was apparently an asshat and the hotel was ridiculous for bothering us. Not a nice feeling, we aren’t loud obnoxious people.

The stay was horrible. We went for a dance competition and this was the host hotel for the competition. The hotel booked 3 fraternities to have their formal. They only had three working elevators so the wait time for elevators was insane. Check out time on Sunday was ridiculous when waiting for an elevator. Will never stay there again. I don’t recommend it.

Disappointed in this Hilton. Staff was not very friendly on several occasions. Only 1-2 elevators were working... a 10 min wait every-time we wanted to use them. And false fire alarm went off TWICE in one night at 2am and 2:30am. Location was excellent though.

I liked the hotel, but I stayed for 3 nights and 4 of 6 elevators were not working for 2 days and 6 of 6 not working for 1 day. I was on the 23rd floor so stairs were not a good option while I was traveling for work and in a suit and heels. We were required to use the service elevators which stopped on every floor and full after a couple of stops. The workers who needed the service elevators were more annoyed than the guests. I asked for some type of discount since I was paying $370 per night and was offered 10,000 Hilton points worth about $50. Who cares about that, it simply makes me not want to stay at a Hilton again.
- 5/5
The majority of elevators were down for the duration of my stay during a busy conference. But the staff went out of their way to help guests use the service elevators. Top notch problem solving. And met nice people along the way. That’s how you do it.

The hand towels were stained with another guest's make up. Totally gross. no blanket in the room. Was told by front desk person that had i reserved a suite, it would have come with a blanket. Train your people Hilton...really?? It's the customer's fault?? The noise level at this hotel is completely unacceptable. Lastly, the beds and pillows are terrible. Had staff been trained properly, he would have simply apologized and offered us breakfast, which I would have declined.

Room was clear, friendly staff, great location. No issues other than I do think when ordering in room dining from the two restaurants, a wait time could be provided. Waited 1.5 hours for food and had to leave before it was delivered. No note that we were here or any follow-up. Paid $80. Hope someone enjoyed it.

Out of six elevators, only two were working from Friday through Monday. I understand things break, but that led to long waits all weekend. More frustrating was the service. I had to call twice on separate nights to have my room cleaned, and the front desk line was consistently long, even just to pick up a bag they were holding for us. The only response to the elevator issue was offering snacks at the front desk, which didn’t feel like much given the inconvenience. Overall, I expected better service.

Everything was great, except the elevator situation. Me and my partner were just in for a weekend getaway and they had a lot of events and conventions going on this weekend that with the influx of people staying at the hotel became and issue with the elevators. There were only 2 working elevators out of 6. In some cases we had to use the service elevators which wasn’t an issue but was something we had to wait for until enough people were standing waiting for long periods. Staff was great & patient!

When I was going to checkout, i asked for a complementary credit/reimbursement. The lady who assisted us told us that if we were Hilton rewards member that she could give us a $50 credit/ 10k points. But if not, I could spend another 30min to 1hr with a rep to become a rewards member. They seemed to be in a bad mood whenever you’ll ask for assistance or information at the front dest. The only one that seemed polite and that was enjoying her job was the hispanic lady doing the housekeeping. Terrible experience over all for the price we paid to stay.

Only 2 of the 6 elevators were working due to “high volume.” Consistently had to wait for 15-20 minutes for an elevator. Lines were long in the lobby and on each floor for the elevator with some guests opting to sneak on to the service elevator instead. Valet was atrocious. Tried to text for our car as the ticket said - but got an auto text back that it couldn’t be accommodated and we needed to present our ticket. We were told 20 minute wait for our car but ended up waiting for over 45 minutes. Terrible experience. Hilton was clearly not staffed appropriately or prepared for a busy weekend.

Paid for upgraded room and they gave me a not upgraded one with a shower that at first didn’t work until I needed to have maintenance come in. Average space in the room. No glass shower despite them saying there would be one. Sauna, hot tub, pool and steam room were nice touches as was the gym. The restaurants had good food but not very reasonably priced for the portions. Staff was friendly but not very helpful. Starbucks was a nice touch. Easy to find. Next to 6th street which was a very loud party heavy street which I didn’t love, but maybe for others it wouldn’t be that bad. Construction next doors made constant noise other than in the middle of the night (could hear it from the high floors). Would’ve loved if rooftop bar / restaurant was open during my stay.

The walls are thin so you hear everything in the hall, and I was woken up by security in the middle of the night that my TV was too loud for that reason.

I just can’t get over the fact that I double booked the reservation and they refused to credit me for the unused reservation. I was for three rooms for $1,400.00. I will never stay at a Hilton or use Hotel.com again. Extremely poor customer service. The event planning organization that members of my family are affiliated with have been notified to pull the Hilton properties off their list as an option for their event planning options. I have found JD Marriott sites far superior.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel and room were clean, the staff was very friendly. The restaurants inside of the hotel were very respectful.
- 5/5
Beautiful property situated in the heart of Downtown Austin. I had a wonderful stay here with my fiancé!

fitness facility small and ran out of water one morning (7am)

Wonderful hotel!
- 5/5
It was wonderful
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
Great room and great stay but there is huge construction that is going on right next to the hotel which goes on all day long. It’s noisy and not very site-seeing if that is what you are looking for. The project next door will not be done until 2028 so I wouldn’t recommend getting any rooms that would face lady bird lake. Inside the hotel was fantastic, amenities and restaurants were very hospitable. Clean and great staff all around. We were in a premium room on the 26th floor and it would’ve been a perfect stay if there wasn’t the noisy construction. Dampened the trip a bit as I wanted a nice view for paying extra for that space.

Great location and accommodations!
- 5/5
Hotel was good and stuff nice. The only two things that bothered me a little were loud construction and a lot of homeless people right outside the hotel.
- 5/5
Clean room lovely Staff and overall great stay!
- 5/5
Great location to get to the ACL and walk around the city
- 3/5
Over priced. Busy pushy big city staff. Chaos. Felt very uncomfortable. Difficult parking. Advertised valet parking. No valets. Not very helpful .
- 5/5
Excellent property and location. Very walkable to all your needs.
- 4/5
Pillows were the best! Want to purchase them! Temperature control was great! Quiet common spaces and Starbucks was the best!
- 5/5
Great view! Spacious room.
- 4/5
There isn't a carryout or drug store close and there are no vending machines or convenience store inside the hotel. One can buy coffee at Starbucks or purchase Coke products out of a vending machine and that is it unless you want to sit at the bar, or the Mexican restaurant near the lobby. Housekeeping didn't clean our room or leave towels one day. They said they thought the room was not occupied. Not a big deal but it is a mistake that should not have happened. The hotel is dated. I bet once construction starts on the new convention center the hotel will get a makeover and double their rack rates. For now, the rooms seem to be priced at a discount to other hotels nearby probably because of the construction.

Very nice hotel. Clean, good service, great amenities.
- 5/5
Pool with hot tub and steam room
- 5/5
Great hotel. Nice amenities. Roof top pool and bar was such a nice add considering the super hot weather! Beds were very comfortable, shower pressure was good and hot. Loved it and would stay again.

Had a girls weekend with my daughters. We loved every second of our stay. They keep talking about how this is their favorite hotel ever! They are 10&16
- 4/5
Construction was a sore eye
- 5/5
Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Everything was very clean and pristine. Front desk very helpful and courteous.
- 2/5
First room the refidgerator compressor made a shrieking noise, 2nd room toilet wasn’t clean , AC worked only on extremes , and toilet didn’t flush, beds were super hard and the shower the splitter leaked so terrible water pressure. The bar was nice and the gym was ok. Construction on the convention center demolitions means noise after 6pm. I was tired of complaining so was just happy to head home.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Great visit, staff was great. Room was clean and nice.
- 5/5
Perfect location for all the bars and restaurants
- 5/5
Stephan at the desk was extremely helpful!
- 5/5
Everything was close by and very nice views
- 4/5
The overall experience was good. The location is prime to be able to get around. This is a high walkable location and public transportation is an option as well. There is major construction going on on the side of the building which is noisy during the day. The room was pretty good, but did not have a microwave in the room. It required guest to go downstairs and use a communal one that is "good" at best. I was surprised by the lack of microwaves. The gym facilities and pool were very nice! I still enjoyed the experience and would stay here again.

Easy check in, friendly helpful staff, nice clean room. We stayed here for easy walk to bars and restaurants on 6th street. We walked all around Austin. Easy walk to the bat bridge, enjoyed watching the bats! We enjoyed our stay, would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Really close to 6th st
- 3/5
We were moved to a 2nd room because the hot water was malfunctioning and in the 2nd room the handle to the shower fell off. The 2nd room was slightly larger and they gave us a voucher for breakfast for one day for the inconvenience. Overall the hotel felt like it was old and on the decline. The service was great so that made up for a lot.
- 5/5
All good
- 4/5
The nearby construction is quite messy.
- 3/5
Not worth the money we spent. Didn’t feel like we were staying at a nice hotel. Our room stayed very hot during the day, I’m thankful I brought a fan with me. The shower had a clog in it, so the water filled up and drained really slow. It was also very hard to turn on the shower. The shower faucet felt very cheap and broken. I also almost fell in the shower because a roach crawled by my foot and scared me. I finally called the front desk after the roach, and they gave us free breakfast vouchers. Also ton of homeless around the hotel, so beware if you are walking around by your self.
- 5/5
The only place I stay when I visit
- 5/5
Great rooftop pool. Convenient downtown location. Very clean. Friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff was pleasant. They have a great bar/restaurant for mid and later day. Bed was super comfortable. Looked clean. Bathroom door looked a little un cleaned. If that’s my only complaint it’s not a big deal (easily overlooked I guess) Views were great. It is a college area. Had fun.
- 5/5
Amazing hotel, close to 6th street.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and clean nice views. The pool was nice. Definitely will be coming back.
- 5/5
Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at downtown Austin and I’ve stayed at majority of them.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Centrally located. Very clean. Delicious breakfast buffet
- 4/5
Staff was GREAT! View was AMAZING! But the bed was terrible and the downtown Austin has terrible homeless problem! Other than that I still would recommend this Hotel!
- 5/5
I love the place , great staff , the hotel is beautiful and convenient, walkable .
- 4/5
Pretty decent hotel, the ac wouldn’t get as cold but other than that the room was nice
- 5/5
Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is spacious. Good location for restaurants and tourist spots.
- 3/5
I loved the gym!
- 5/5
I have stayed in this hotel several times now over the last 10 years. Every time I stay here I am impressed by the helpful staff. On this occasion we were there for 4th July which is also my wife's birthday. They gave us a great city view for the fireworks (which were unfortunately cancelled) and vouchers for a free breakfast buffet. Great customer service.

Wonderful Staff & clean hotel
- 4/5
Hotel was nice n clean, only downfall was there wasn't any type of gift shop or a place to get a paper or Tylenol ect.. a vending machine for such items. Buy ... $19. For Tylenol?? Come on!!
- 5/5
Staff were wonderful, friendly, answered all questions, gave area suggestions. Room was comfortable and clean. Banquet food was tasty and staff was very helpful (a member of our party had a food allergy). Front lobby was inviting and offered lots of seating.

Staff was really rude, the woman behind the counter was great but we were treated poorly by a staff member in the elevator and another employee at the bar inside.

Some of my favorite yet!

We three ladies loved the roof top pool. It is well maintained and very clean. :)

- 5/5
The highlight for us was definitely the rooftop pool area, especially refreshing in the heat of June. The hotel met all our needs and offered a great space to relax. Although there’s construction happening throughout downtown, it didn’t affect our stay at all—we didn’t hear any noise from our room or the pool area. Every staff member we interacted with was professional and polite. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

Great location
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Clean and good location. However, I had an issue with checking in that was not an ideal experience...
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hilton in Austin. We were so lucky to get early check in and a super clean, quiet room. Amazing gym and fun pool! The only thing we didn’t like was the stinky sewage smell in the lobby (but to be fair, there were several other buildings in Austin with the same smell…) Good location near Dirty 6th. There are many unhomed people in the neighborhood, however we didn’t have any issues at all.

Great property. Deserving of the 4 star rating and a great deal

friendly staff, helpful as well. rooms are clean and well ventilated/air conditioned.

The hotel was conveniently located. The room was comfortable the parking was VERY expensive even if they claim to be least expensive. Had billing problems without help, was accidentally hung up on 3 times after a significant wait time!!
- 3/5
Great staff. Restaurant greatly need improvement
- 5/5
Nice place and people
- 5/5
A good option that is less expensive than other hotels in the area.
- 5/5
Location was great! Easy access to 6th & 2nd street. I-35 was one block away. In-house resto and starbucks is a plus!
- 4/5
At the same time the area is littered with the homeless so personally, I would not stay in Downtown again but rather chose by South Congress which we thought was much nicer. Also, everywhere in Downtown parking comes at a premium, so add $52 to your night for valet parking. The hotel itself has probably had its hayday. There’s nothing wrong with the rooms, they are fine, the bed was comfortable, but I just didn’t love it. The gym was very well-equipped with a good selection of weights, a cable machine and a couple of other machines as well as your usual selection of running machines. The pool area was cute, yet the water was very warm as it’s in the sun all day. It was really too hot to hang out when we were visiting and the bar was closed all week.
- 5/5
Good Location., Good Breakfast. Convenient Checkout and Parking.
- 4/5
Overall, the property is beautiful. The elevators were HORRIBLE! I got stuck in one on first morning and throughout my stay different elevators wouldn't stop at some floors and the lights were not working for many floors so you couldn't tell if you were going to get wear you wanted to go.
- 4/5
I really love the location of being close to downtown. However, if you are coming with a family be prepared for the pool to be packed with nothing but adults for majority of the day.
- 5/5
My daughter and I were there for a soccer match and we had an amazing time at your hotel. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT!! Especially the pool and our room attendant was amazing!! I so wish I could remember her name!?
- 4/5
The Hilton Austin Downtown was in a great location—super convenient for exploring the city and walking to nearby restaurants and attractions. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, and I expected a bit more in terms of cleanliness. It wasn’t terrible, just not quite up to the standard I was hoping for. Overall, an okay stay, but there’s room for improvement.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
When I got there they said they didn’t have a king room that I paid
- 4/5
For the most part I was very satisfied with my stay.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Highly recommended. My room was not quiet at first but after talking to the staff, they gave me a very good and quiet room.
- 5/5
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially after a couple of rough stays at hotels the previous nights before. I would stay again in a heart beat. Plus a pet friendly with a fair rate, especially with the Hilton literally a block away charging double that.
- 5/5
Staff member was excellent. Check in on Saturday, with young staff member at 10:00 AM, excellent! Everyone had great customer service!
- 3/5
The pool was dirty green so I didn't get to enjoy. There wasn't any shower gel in the shower luckily I had brought some of my own. So the stay didn't meet my expectations. The bed was the best. It was very soft and comfy. The staff was nice but they definitely need to clean the pool.
- 5/5
Pool is too small for the amount of floors
- 5/5
It was great. Will return again.
- 5/5
Can’t help what happens on a street but we didn’t feel as safe walking around the area. I’m sure it was fine just not what we are used to. Hotel and staff are great
- 4/5
Could use a good exterior renovation, hallways smelled bad, rooms were solid and up to date, great views, close to everything downtown. Pool was good, everything on the exterior was just a little rundown. For the price it’s really good.

The pool furniture needs to be replaced or repaired. Some routine maintenance is not done. The property is getting older and is run down. Parking is 48 dollars a day. Would never eat in the restaurant there again. The location is great!

As they say “location, location, location” in real estate, this hotel is at the best spot possible for a tourist. Right on 6th street, you’re right in the middle of the action. You’re never more than 30 minutes from all the fun. The hotel room was so clean and the staff were all helpful. Definitely staying here on my next trip. Thank you Hilton Austin!
- 3/5
I didn't fly to Austin to go to sleep early and wake up early. I flew there with family for a wonderful night out on the town and enjoy Austin's nightlife... only to be massively disturbed by all the noise that lasted over an hour or so on Saturday morning. I also choose this hotel because I love the gym and locker room amenities. That being said, the sauna was broken and barely had any heat pumping in the room. I asked the locker room attendant how to increase the heat and he said it's broken. Very disappointing to learn that while on the trip. All in all, this is really unacceptable. I know this hotel is better than that and I'd love to consider staying there as long as this doesn't happen again in the future.
