Element by Marriott Austin Downtown

Very convenient location within walking distance to most downtown restaurants and bars. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was amazing. Would definitely stay again next time we are in town

Then we met Conrad at the valet stand. His genuine enthusiasm and absolutely charming personality was so heartwarming and sweet. If we had a question, he would take out his phone and research to ensure that he was giving us the proper answers even went so far as to get us parking at a sister hotel for a late night trip to a roof top bar. The complementary breakfast we received every morning was more than just adequate. Each morning brought forth a special dish, including breakfast tacos, French toast, and fruit filled pancakes that were made to order. If we ever return to Austin, we would 100% use this property again for the friendly staff, clean and practical rooms and wonderful location.

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and the room and amenities were nice. Wish I knew about parking situation, it was real pricey for a nearby lot or valet. Our room was roomy and clean at first glance but we noticed glitter all over the floors and well all of our stuff was covered by the time my son pointed it out. Location was great! Ideal even for getting around. Note: tons of homeless people are downtown and there’s not a lot of security. Beware if traveling with kids. We watched from valet desk, a homeless guy throw a water bottle and some random guy’s face. It was filled with urine. Breakfast was the best complimentary breakfast I’ve ever had. Staff is helpful and friendly.

The 2nd story bar turns into a night club feel. Great way to to relax and still make new friends. Great location. Nice café with baked goods on 1st floor. Breakfast was great. If you want to try the pastries for "free" get up early and try everything available at breakfast. Staff was friendly on check in and check out. Room was clean. The WINDOWS for immaculate. It made the view worth while. Would definitely stay again.

The property is in a great location, it’s clean, and seems to have tons of things to do without ever leaving the premises. I wish we had more time to experience everything. Definitely will be back. The walls are thin it seems. I could literally hear my neighbor singing! Haha!

I loved that the hotel was conveniently located near the university, making it easy to get around. The atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, and the accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. I had no complaints about my stay. Everything was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

The property was well maintained and clean. The entrance lobby smelled a little bad though. That’s the only negative thing that I could say.

Loved the location! Staff was excellent! Housekeeping brought up an additional mattress for the sleeper couch which made the bed quite comfortable. Loved the products for hair and shower! Seriously excellent! I ordered some online before even leaving lol. The afternoon complementary snacks were minimal… bread, cheese, olives… wine was nice…. Somehow expecting better from Marriott. Not super important but somewhat disappointing.

The hotel is well located. Nice studio apt. The parking is a little bit expensive but it is the same for all the hotels in the area.

I didn’t like the room because it felt outdated and poorly maintained. The front desk clerk was not hospitable at all and actually came across as rude, which made the experience even worse. Overall, I was not impressed with this property and would not stay here again. Marriott really lowered their standards with this hotel. I would not recommend it.

The hotel and the room was very clean. The location was great. The breakfast was very good too. The one thing that impressed me was that the valet offered alternative parking directly across the street for almost half the price.

Towel service missed one day as well as bath tissue and cups for coffee maker. Bed was a little soft...but Otherwise, everything was very good. I would book here again as it was clean and that is an absolute must for travel before anything. Beds and towels and everything else after that follows.

The staff were super polite and helpful, and our room was pretty clean, we loved the view plus they had really good prices.

The Breakfast was okay. A bit of a disappointment and I say that only because we would expect it ti be a traditional style for example eggs with sausage and bacon and a choice for waffles. There was Milk stuck to this ice thingy that it spilled everywhere . None the less im happy i was fed but was a bit sad.

What a fun place! Location was fabulous and the Hotel was wonderful. We went with a large group and we loved the outside patio on the second floor. It was a great place for all of us to meet and start our day.

The downtown location was great! The breakfast was amazing and the staff were friendly. The open lobby/bar was a bit confusing, congested, and noisy. Also, the bathroom had hair in the sink the cleaning staff missed.

This was a great hotel, friendly staff, informative. The breakfast was also delicious. Had a late night once where I wanted pastry, despite the cafe being closed, they still cashed me pastries that were still available through the bar. 10/10 recommendations. Will be back for sure.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. TV was also in an awkward area and the remote didnt work super well.

Unfortunately the breakfast was not good. There was only a few items to choose from. The coffee was very terrible and the eggs were not great. That wasn’t as expected. The AI picture that was obviously made was by far not the best used. My sister (the room that I got it for) was sorely disappointed with it).

Nice hotel with clean and modern rooms! The mini kitchen in the room was super helpful. Parked in a nearby garage to avoid the valet charge. The white noise machine is straight comedy! Be prepared for a little noise from the streets at night. Request a high floor if the noise is a big deal for you.

I had a lovely welcome email from Ellaine, upon my check-in I was greeted by the delightful Maria. Maria also answered the phones when I had questions about parking and answered all my questions. Maria also signed me up for Marriott Rewards and explained the benefits. Maria definitely made my first stay at Element more enjoyable and I will be going again.

Central location, spacious room with mini kitchen, good sized bathroom, extremely comfy beds, 24/7 gym. Breakfast options super limited, staff was inconsistently friendly, lots of homeless people hanging around the hotel entrance.

Our stay here exceeded all expectations. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything. Museums, the Capital, the Paramount Theater, and tons of amazing restaurants, including Caroline, which is right on the property. I cannot say enough about the staff, as we were greeted with nothing but kindness from everyone we interacted with. We were on a girl's trip and had an early morning flight. We figured we'd ask to see if they could store our luggage since it was 9:30 am and didn't expect to be able to check in, but were surprised when we were told we could go ahead and check in and enjoy breakfast, which again, exceeded expectations! There were the usuals, eggs, bacon/sausage, toast/bagels, an oatmeal and cereal bar, yogurt bar, and my favorite, all the patstries from the coffee bar on the first floor! The hotel even hosts a happy hour in the evening M-Thurs for guests. Our favorite part were the bikes available for guests to utilize free of charge. We were able to see the city and try all the restauraunts without paying a ton for Ubers or tours. We grabbed a free bike and took off! We even got to enjoy the trail at Lady Bird Lake, which is also right around the corner. Caroline's on site has great drinks and food and a great atmosphere for happy hour each evening. When it came time to check out, they stored our luggage for us again so we could maximize our time in the city before needing to head to the airport in the evening. We will stay here again for sure!

Would not stay here again. Closer on door to room so strong it was hard to open and slammed hard. Seemed like tried to save money everywhere possible; had to force phone charger plug into wall socket, tried 3 and none worked, finally used plug on lamp; shower was ridiculously hard to turn on then water went hot to cold over and over; mattress reminded me of sleeping on a stack of towels; the “pillows” on the bed were bolsters like you would put behind your back to sit up - too thick and hard to sleep on, room has dinette with big heavy square plates that would fit in microwave, but were too big for microwave turntable to turn; provided tableware that reminded me of something you might buy at an army surplus store, bathroom tissue was low quality. Instead of carpet, the room floors had what I believed to be ceramic tile made to look like wood flooring and it was cold to walk on. Place was clean and staf was helpful. However, the room was noisy all night long from street traffic, and there seemed to be a lot of helicopter traffic overhead, which I could not understand. I even requested a quiet room, but I have no idea if tha request was honored. I have stayed in downtown Austin hotels before with good results, but this was not a good experience for me.

The pancake day they were using an electric griddle that took forever. The breakfast area is very small and there were too many people in that small space. The first couple of days we went early and it was crowded and the next couple of days we went later and it was crowded. Housekeeping was also an issue. We had to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper because the maid left an almost empty roll on the holder. After two hours no one had delivered any TP and we had to go ask again to have some brought to us. Two of the days, the maid was knocking to clean the room around 8:45 am and woke us. That being said, they did a good job cleaning the room once we could dress and get out. I could see staying here again if the price was right because of location, but I would go grab breakfast elsewhere!

The hotel is lovely. The staff is great. The room is clean. The breakfast is good. The location was great for the conference I attended. I gave it three stars because it was the loudest room I've ever stayed in. I struggled to sleep for five nights, even with the sound machine on. If you stay there, maybe a higher floor would help... or ask to find the quietest room possible.

Right in the heart of downtown, it’s an amazing location to get anywhere from. I loved coming back from a busy day to a clean room and the most comfortable bed. Also the breakfast is fantastic! Having a coffee shop on the first level too was very convenient. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Austin

Great stay. The only downside was the valet was so busy. Waited 15 minutes for our car, and they hadn’t even left with the keys to go get it - even asking twice about it—I kept getting told ‘it’s on its way’.

Great location with a short walk to 6th street. Lively restaurant’s on the 1st and 2nd floor of the hotel. Room was quiet, housekeeping was great, property is clean and in excellent condition. Valet service only which the process was good, the guys were efficient or self parking at a 3rd party garage a short block awsy. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

Disappointed that the booking showed a pool and when we got there was told no pool. Homeless screaming and cursing outside the front door with my children there, was a little scary for them . Breakfast wasn’t very good. Hotel was clean and had some options for dining was a plus. Not a horrible place, but won’t revisit in the future .

First, the shower door leaked and more importantly, the door is so difficult to open/close that you have to slam your shoulder against it to make it open. And it makes a loud noise at that time. Fix these two items and it’s a 5 star review!

Booked a room with 2 queen beds and 1 sofa bed 2 weeks before the trip. Didn’t get what I booked unfortunately. Ended up with 1 king and sofa bed which was not comfortable for 5 people. Stuff was nice though.

The location is excellent, just consider to pay $70 daily for parking to your expense.

Wonderful property that is walkable distance to all downtown attractions and events.

The Element is a very modern hotel located in downtown Austin and close to many restaurants and interesting attractions. The staff is very professional and courteous. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, very clean and equipped with a kitchenette. Breakfast is ver good with .any food options. I highly recommend the hotel.

Best bang for you buck around the area

It was good except for the morning I asked the front desk to have our room made up within the following four hours. When we came back, the room was not yet cleaned. I had to go back down and ask that it be cleaned. Annoying.

Expedia is fraudulent and does not deliver on what they sell you. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't care if you have issues with Expedia, they won't give you what you paid for. The hotel is fine but do not book through Expedia, they are scammers.

Located in a great area of downtown Austin. The valet was very fast with retrieving our car. The restaurants had great food and drink options. The only issue was the free breakfast... they ran out of food both days, clean plates and utensils were not available. We were able to buy breakfast in the hotel's cafe.

I loved my stay! The staff was friendly and even offered us an upgrade to a room with two beds instead of the king bed we originally had. It felt like they knew exactly what we needed, which made our stay even better. The only downside was the parking situation. There’s no parking garage for the hotel, and while they offer valet service, it’s pretty pricey. It would’ve been great if valet was included. I ended up parking at a garage across the street for $33 overnight.

I loved that our room had its own kitchen and the atmosphere was great. Amazing breakfast options and the water they served was extremely refreshing.

Perfect location with great array of restaurants/bars nearby including Caroline bar and quick grab n go cafe in same hotel. Rooms are clean and staff is always kind and friendly. Will be back soon.

Oh, and the valet is ridiculous - it took 40 minutes to get our car.

Clean room. Had everything we needed. Fridge, microwave, a few dishes, toaster if you need, can opener, sink. Could def stay here long if needed. Close walk to 6th street. We even walked to the Texas State Capitol. Valet parking. Nice breakfast. First day had chicken sausage. We mentioned to staff that bacon would be better...boom...bacon next day. Would stay again.

Spur of the moment road trip and we were lucky coy to find this place with the accommodations for three adults in the area we were looking for. Upon check in the desk clerk was super courteous and helpful in recommending places for dinner and points of interest and wasn’t rude about our reservation being placed through a third party affiliate- we have encountered that before at other hotels. Our room was clean and spacious for three adults. Will definitely return and recommend!

Great location when visiting for a UT football game. Comfortable walking distance to stadium. (1.2 miles) and you’ll walk with crowd of others both before and after games. So relatively safe. Room was great.

Place was a nice stay. We chose this due to the free breakfast but it was very limited to basic breakfast; eggs, bacon, or sausage. Minimal protein available, not a continental breakfast type. There were “gourmet” mini breakfasts but nothing actually filling.That was our only downside. Other than that, we had a pleasant experience.

I like the care and details into a clean and natural feel with modern style. The layout of the room and the views were also relaxing and inviting.

The hotel charged you again for the room even though it was already paid through Expedia. The room I got was supposed to be two used beds and one sofa bed but it was one king bed and sofa bed so the Expedia app was wrong. Not very happy with that at all.
